In African homes, there tends to be that food smell too that sticks to your clothes, hair, carpets etc till you end up smelling the same way. I always say this, when us Nigerians are cooking you need to ventilate the place and have plug in air fresheners around the house. Also, wear a headscarf and don't wear outside clothes when you're cooking strong smelling foods :)

Okay, so I used to work at a firm where one of the apprentices smelled really bad.
She was 17 at the time and had a really bad smell, no-one told her but everyone in the office used to cuss her behind the scenes and tbh that broke my heart.
One day i told her during lunch that she needed to pay a bit more attention to her hygiene etc. and she asked me directly "are you trying to say i smell?" and i was like "you know i care about you and don't want to hurt your feelings (blah blah blah) but you do have a smell". She wasn't offended surprisingly and overtime she started to smell a bit better, but i had to remind her on text message a few other times that the smell was creeping back, even though she used to drown herself in perfume, the smell was still pungent at times. I even bought her some deodorant and body mists (and gave her some advice on female hygiene).
But sadly, she still had that bad smell lingering from time to time. But i had peace with myself that I told her and gave her the opportunity to fix it so it'll always be at the back of her mind that she needs to pay attention to her smell. That's all you can do.
If she still has the smell it is 100% medical. Maybe you need to read more about odors. There’s one which causes pungent odor there’s one that causes armpit odor there’s one that cause mouth odor literally there’s actually medical conditions so it’s not that she didn’t listen. What you suggested didn’t work because she needs more medical support sis

Smells don’t always mean someone is not taking care of their hygiene. Some people body react differently to the food they eat, and it doesn’t have to be only unhealthy food, it could simply be garlic or certain vegetables. Everybody digest breaks down food differently.
Also is it that they smell? or is it you don’t like the smell of their pheromones? Everyone has a personal scent, which is why some perfume smell different on some people.
It also could be health. I.e something wrong with there gut. Sometimes bad breaths is link to digestion issues or tooth decay. So they may need to go to the doctors or dentist.
Of course their some people that smell, but that isn’t everyone.
Also can we not use baby wipes, and if you need to use one use an biodegradable one. And check the labels in some on some of those wipes, because sometimes they are making it worst and it just a temporary fix. That’s how we’re made up - genetics - we have a scent, like how perfumes smell different on different people, that’s due to their natural scent. Just thought I’d throw that out there because we do have scents, they aren’t unpleasant at all. Pheromones mean someone’s natural scent might be for you or it won’t. Obvs having health conditions or odour can change your natural scent.

NGL, I broke up with some1 because he was nasty and didn’t get it when I told him. He use to leave skid marks every morning, when he finally gets in the bath, left think scum and toenails on the side, the last straw was when he used my flannel. Didn’t no he had these bad habits till I moved in with him. I tried communicating asking him to atleast put bleach in the toilet when he’s done a poo, clean the bath and don’t use my flannel or toothbrush, he didn’t see my point of view, very inconsiderate and saying it’s his house and he could do what he wants… well I left him to be a tramp on his own when I discovered he doesn’t change his socks everyday. His foot stunk, I had to keep reminding him to change his socks especially as he didn’t shower everyday, just bath 1ce a week on a Sunday. Couldn’t take it anymore as I felt like a mother to a 7yr old. After I moved in we broke up 3 wks later.

Drink plenty water with lemon and drink a glass before bed. You won’t have morning breath. I never do but I also only drink water and eat pretty well
