  • In this video, Greg is milling 4x4s to create more lumber bunks to store ALL of the lumber he will mill this Fall and Winter! He also mills A LOT of stickers that will help store the lumber.
He starts off by grabbing a bunch of logs and putting them on the log bunk he made last year around this time. Here's a link to the video we made sharing how Greg made it!
Woodland Mills HM130 Max // How To Build A Log Bunk For A Sawmill: • Woodland Mills HM130 M...
Did you know we are also building a barn?! If you haven't followed along with our BARN Build, make sure to check out that series in our playlists. We recently finished the foundation. Our next step will be milling the lumber for this build. We have A LOT of milling in our future.
***If you haven't checked out our Sawmill Cover Build from the beginning, definitely check out our Sawmill Playlist. We have shared the process of building this sawmill cover from the very beginning. We have a Woodland Mills HM130 Max sawmill and live in North Idaho. This sawmill cover / sawmill shed is vital to continue milling in the winter months, but it will also be a great way to keep out of the sun during the summer months, and of course all of the rain, in between! We are excited to complete this project, so we can continue milling lumber for our barn build.
Here are the specs on the sawmill cover / sawmill shed we are building:
    3 posts in the front
    4 posts in the back
Overall dimensions are 15 feet wide by 36 feet long
    Longest beam is 28 feet
Front part of the lean to roof is 11'9" and back is 8'
    It will have a 3 :12 pitch
    Posts and beams are going to be 7 1/2" x 7 1/2"
We have shared the entire build!

Howdy y’all- making skids and stickers is not the most fun on mill but necessary for the operation. Congratulations on the younguns making it into med school. Take care and God bless

Thank you, we are super proud of them! I have a nice Doug Fir on the mill right now - making 6"x10"x22' out of it. I need 14 of them! Definitely more exciting than stickers! 😊

Greg, your log deck look strong and easy to use. It is nice you made it portable so you can clean around the mill. A clean, sawdust free mill is a safer place to work besides looking good. Blessings to you, Greg.

The best way I’ve found to make stickers is to buy them at the lumberyard! 😂 Great video!

ya some of them logs I would make firewood out of it and I grew up on a ranch so those first cuts when your taking the bark off we call plank fencing lol

      @ourdreaminthewoods  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Making most of it into firewood for family and friends. Some goes to the slash pile, but we try to use what we can. 😊
