Wish I seen this before I started my house it's a long slow process I have around 25 hours into pressure washing bought gallons of every chemical home depot had most of their cleaners and strippers are junk
getting ready to tackle my own home some tell me to get someone to corncob blast it ,but I really want to do it myself and I have a good power washer. Any helpful comments?
Media stripping can be expensive and messy! Depending on whether or not it has varnish you might want to consider an angle grinder @ 36 grit-> 80 grit to finish.
Don't do this guys getting to close to the wood with that pleasure the wood gets really ugly and you can damage if you cedar siding boards, if the homeowner knows more than you, you gonna get sue then you have to replace the entire house siding
Sure, to a point. Moisture probably absorbs in 1/16" (depending on the species and condition of the wood). On a hot day it probably drys out within a few hours. Jeff Kyger - Northwest Log Home Care
I’ve used several of your products. That being said if you mix 1:3 ratio SH with 1tsp of Tri Sodium Phosphate and softwash the house you can rinse everything for the most part of and not used any high pressure. If that doesn’t work as desired add more SH and repeat.
What is the name of your channel going to be? I’m really interested. I have a panabode home I just bought that is super dark and I want to restain it and make it way lighter. Thank you
He stated it was environmentally safe. EPA regulates the crap out of anything that will potentially make it into the ground, such as pest control chemicals for ants, termites and even flea topical treatments for your animals
Checical stripper is always best applied brushing it on. Some strippers can't be sprayed on for a variety of reasons. Jeff Kyger - Northwest log home care
Great advise thanks…..👍

I tried this with a pressure washer a few years ago and it left A LOT of splintered wood. It didn't work very well.
It worked for me. My wood was really fuzzy, but once it dried, and I stained it and top coated it, looked like wood no splinters or fuzzy at all
Great job
Great job Jeff!!
Way to close with pressure washer, freys the wood????????
Im getting ready to buy a log home and one room was painted pink. How would you go about taking the pink paint off?
Sander or dry ice blasting

Are you following up with an Osborn brush for fuzzing from power wash?

That doesn't happen if you're experienced. This wood came out perfectly smooth.
Follow the wood grain when you pressure wash - it looks better.
Where is your safety glasses….?
Doesn't this force moisture into the wood

This is maybe a already pretreated house . Show where you apply and don’t at the same time

Luke are you referring to Sodium Hydroxide? I'm getting ready to start a log sided home with an oil base finish and would prefer not to fur it up.
Been there brother. Fuzz it right up
How do you stop water from getting in the house?
Wow you are getting awfully close with that tip. Looks good tho.
I think he got so close because he's using the low pressure tip
I would love to see the before and after view of the home at the end of your video.
Kelly Hewitt I’m starting a before after restoration channel I restore log homes for a living

How much would cost me to re staining a house about the same size?
Doing it yourself, if you have the tools figure about a grand
Simply terrible technique. Way too close to the surface.
Use a white tip with hot water power washer at 1500-2000 psi
Would this work in a scenario where the log cabin is painted (I know...can’t believe the previous owner painted the ex of a cabin)?
Way to close man!! You actually damaged the wood.
nooo a green tip
No..NO..NOOOO!
You're damaging the wood! This is the wrong method!
What is the right method?! Any hint?
I tend to degree. Close up pressure washing trashes the wood. I was hoping to see the pressure washer head back about 20 inches.
So all that water and chemical is just soaking into the soil?

That shit Is going to be hairy and feather your edges if you don't do full sections

I have a client wanting me to retain there home im curious how i should charge
Cost of materials + labor
Ever tried spraying that stuff on before doing the power-washing?... just saying :)

Definitely not how you wash wood lol
It's very concerning to use a striper as far as the environment goes and when you have pets and other wildlife in your yard.
What's wrong with you?
He stated it was safe for the environment and named the product. EPA over regulates most chemicals
Perma WHAT???
Perma chink
