This is the anime where I really cried. I mean, dude, I tear up usually to some sad movies like Hachiko. Unlike Kimi no na wa, I really cried. I cried during the scene where they saw each other near the cave/temple during twilight, and the scene where Mitsuha saw the pen written words on her palm. This movie is really wonderful. I don't usually appreciate movies, but Kimi no na wa is really a very great movie.

One flaw in your comment, it is a percieved that they are living a dream and forget most its contents, now expecting that they are only living a dream then im sure the year is irelevent, i mean how many times do you really bother checking or rechecking the year your in, especially if you are in the percieved "current year". Spent Half a Year avoiding spoilers and trailers..just waiting for it to be released in theaters in North America. My friends and I got the opening night tickets, and half a year of waiting for so worth it. It was sooo good. Within that week I watched it in theaters twice.
As a action anime fan, I gave this movie a chance at the theaters! It was worth it and it might have made converted me into a slice of life/romance anime fan. It was probably one of the best 7 dollars I spent on my entire life! I slightly teared up too. I give this movie 10/10

I went to see the dub version in the theater when it opened on the 7th. The dub was outstanding! I highly recommend it. I came out of the theater realizing that I actually enjoyed it more than when I saw it in the subbed version. Bravo!
strawberry 101 If you observe carefully when mitsuha was writing a kanji on Takis hand, she started with a horizontal stroke, which is the kanji for 'Su'. which would be the same way taki wrote I love you on mitsuha's hand. I think this was confirmed by the author.
i saw the movie this past sunday and i didnt even know it was out thanks to my dad he told me it was playing and almost regretted it cuz i immediately decided i wanted to see that instead of power rangers XD but in the end it was so amazing that he even liked it and i almost cried during the film with all the feels. Luckily i held it in till i got home and i was alone listening to the japanese soundtrack since i hadnt heard it yet before. Go see this movie in theaters if you can its way more worth it :)

I saw Darling in the franxx and decided to not watch any more romantic/relationship type animes because how sad I felt after watching that....now "your name" is popping up in my recommendation and according to the comments this seems a really sad anime...
