I'll never understand how this band never made it big...seriously the most underrated band in metal. This and deliver us are two of the greatest albums in metalcore. The guitar work, vocals, and musicianship are remarkable.
Matt Henrique oh, your one of those types huh? Do you guys even listen to yourselves ? "Melodic deathcore with hints of metalcore", dude I'm just making a point that this band is incredibly talented metal act and deserves more attention.
If I could share this amazing band 1 million time I would!! I want you folks to find out about them as well! *watch?v=bYqKPwdznLQ* I say it is great! You must youtube it
Fullcollapse1 This is a great album, but this is not better than the album with demons on it, i can't remember the name of that album but it is their best
Lyrics: Burn alive when your whole life You're just taught to die And fear your instincts and form a line Trust no one you can't look in the eye Trust yourself you can find where the power lies The world has changed The world is changing Empires fall and centuries craving A shift, a wall, a rift A knowledge of self Of solace and health Look inside you can find where the power lies And ride by the starlight and know why You could never relate to the world You could never rely You can sever the state from the land But not the day from the night Not the sound from the sight Fade into a magnetic north so true A passing phase under a blood red moon Make it right and show me how to sell the light And find where the power lies And ride by the starlight And know why You could never relate to the world You could never rely You can sever the state from the land But not the day from the night Not the sound from the sight Look above laughing when all is lost
Just listening back for nostalgia. This album was in my stereo non stop for a year. It's a masterpiece. I can't wrap my head around how well put together it is. The drums, vocals, and the guitar work is among the best I've EVER heard. People bitch about it being too mainstream.lol I've listened to the older stuff and the new but this shit by far takes the cake. Outstanding songs. Outstanding album I give it a 9.9 on the dicktor scale. They should be proud to call this their self titled
SUCH an incredible album from DH. This is one of my favorite songs from them, without a doubt. But all in all I have so much love for their new album, and even more so for this band as a whole. Old fans or new, this album should be a no brainer for you to pick up.
Chris Norris a ton. His guitar playing was so amazing, but they still put out amazing albums after deliver us. This album is amazing I think I'm absolute in love with it
awesome band been listening to them since the beginning..last saw them in 2010 in Lancaster pa...met the John Henry and tried to have a conversation with him as he sold the band's merchandise but I was to deaf to hear him...because their set was awesome!!
Best song this band has ever put out. I have been following this band for 10 years and i'm highly impressed with this modernized album. Hopefully this will get their asses back on the map.
+daniel florio Inflames has a track named after a Darkest Hour album, "In Flames" is a part of the name of the first song of this album. Coincidence? Or do these bands secretly love each other?
if you like hardcore, metalcore, metal, anything in this jonra you must know Darkest Hour. They broke the ground and where one of the Pioneers that started this jonra years and years and years and years and years ago. because of them we have such Amazing Music amazing musicians. I've seen them over 10 times and they will always be one of my most top three favorites.
I listened to this album and hated it for the amount that they've changed since "Hidden Hands" etc......then I played it repeatedly and realized they still fucking shred. I have no idea how to wrap my head around the fact that they can play such a breadth of music that is ALL good, but they do it. \m/
This is probably the best song in this album. I'm a huge DH fan and to be honest, I'm very disappointed with this new album. We loyal fans can always go back to sick albums such as Undoing Ruin, Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation. Those albums are legendary and defined Darkest Hour as a melodic death/metal-core band. Those epic melodic riffs in the older albums worth million bucks.
Alot of these new songs are better then some of there older songs, especially like a couple from hidden hands that's just too thrashy and all over the place.
There's a couple of songs (2 or 3) that are more on the mainstream side, there are another couple that are on the extreme side like their old stuff, and the rest to me pretty much just sound like their last album, the human romance, only with cleans. Which don't get me wrong is not a bad thing at all. THR was awesome I thought. and it's not too much cleans, it's a good balance. the new album overall is awesome I think
First as a heads up its Kris Norris I know alot of other fans are touchy about that. Also how is old Darkest Hour gone? You mention undoing ruin and deliver us. To me however those albums are what paved the way for what Darkest Hour is now. The Sadist Nation to me was the last "old" Darkest Hour album. Even then there hasn't been a whole lot of a difference they have been Darkest Hour this entire time some changes yes but I think for the most part they have been true to themselves. This album theres no difference. I'd say undoing ruin and deliver us they were going for a different approach compared to the Sadist Nation and before but otherwise mostly the same. With the Eternal Return kinda went back to the Sadist Nation vibe. The Human Romance kinda picked up where Deliver us left off. This album I think is a perfect blend between Sadist Nation Darkest Hour and Undoing Ruin/ Deliver Us Darkest Hour and not going to far from what they are and still being able to bring some new elements to make things fresh again on top of that still just being themselves. That's just my opinion though.
I believe Darkest Hour have matured in their songwriting. This "new" Darkest Hour is more mature more grown up and sophisiticated. Its not all over the place like old DH. Personally I love DH's old stuff, but this new stuff is good also im really digging it. Kris Norris does side stuff too so you might like that stuff but honestly i really dont like his side work. Just my two cents
Kris and Lonestar are both amazing players that actually play more similarly than people let on actually i hear a lot of people giving this album a lot of shit because of the singing but they've always done the pseudo singing like in a paradox with flies and love as a weapon now they're just not beating around the bush
jangan bagi,Israel and their. deceptive thoughts. Star of David? we oblique your star of David. we are scholars of the book. KUN FAYYA KUN -------> translate
Not really amazing album, but I consider it decent one. Guys are not getting younger, they've got to search for other ways. Not the best, but still... good try.
This band just restored my faith in metal. Thanks to sharks who like it too.

I'll never understand how this band never made it big...seriously the most underrated band in metal. This and deliver us are two of the greatest albums in metalcore. The guitar work, vocals, and musicianship are remarkable.
how much bigger can they have gotten ?.
they have been on non stop tour for many many years. what do you want for them ?
miss the old DH
I agree, but dude they're not metalcore, they're melodic death metal with some influences from metalcore, you know?
Matt Henrique oh, your one of those types huh? Do you guys even listen to yourselves ? "Melodic deathcore with hints of metalcore", dude I'm just making a point that this band is incredibly talented metal act and deserves more attention.
yeah, theyre awesome anyaway
This is easily Darkest Hour's best song in years.
I agree ! Idk what the other people problem is with this album. This is far better than the last 2 albums.
If I could share this amazing band 1 million time I would!! I want you folks to find out about them as well!

I say it is great!
You must youtube it
Fullcollapse1 This is a great album, but this is not better than the album with demons on it, i can't remember the name of that album but it is their best
FusRoDah2 That album was called Deliver Us and is not one of the two before this one
FusRoDah2 deliver us. the best melodic death Metalcore album ever written.
Lyrics:
Burn alive when your whole life
You're just taught to die
And fear your instincts and form a line
Trust no one you can't look in the eye
Trust yourself you can find where the power lies
The world has changed
The world is changing
Empires fall and centuries craving
A shift, a wall, a rift
A knowledge of self
Of solace and health
Look inside you can find where the power lies
And ride by the starlight and know why
You could never relate to the world
You could never rely
You can sever the state from the land
But not the day from the night
Not the sound from the sight
Fade into a magnetic north so true
A passing phase under a blood red moon
Make it right and show me how to sell the light
And find where the power lies
And ride by the starlight
And know why
You could never relate to the world
You could never rely
You can sever the state from the land
But not the day from the night
Not the sound from the sight
Look above laughing when all is lost
"Look above laughing when all is lost" Shit man, right in the feels
A shark ate my legs when I listened to this song at the beach, brutal!
Highly impressed with this album. Total metal headfuck
That riff from 2:28 - 2:36 though!

This is the best song on the album. Captures the old of Darkest Hour, as well as the new. Great song, such an underrated band. Go DarkH!!!

this album grew on me after every listen. This song is my favorite off the album. Job well done guys.

Well Sumerian does well when putting their bands out there so I'm personally not worried
Darkest Hour playing In Flames better than In Flames has been in a decade.
+daniel florio Inflames has a track named after a Darkest Hour album, "In Flames" is a part of the name of the first song of this album. Coincidence? Or do these bands secretly love each other?
Joostin Kookel im pretty sure both bands are good friends

I first heard this on discover channel..
Amazingly, all the comments are positive.
Wish the whole album was more like this, then it would have been their best since Deliver Us.
I listened to this album and hated it for the amount that they've changed since "Hidden Hands" etc......then I played it repeatedly and realized they still fucking shred. I have no idea how to wrap my head around the fact that they can play such a breadth of music that is ALL good, but they do it. \m/

Sadly old Darkest Hour is gone when chris norris was in the band, i miss Undoing Ruin, Deliver Us albums .
