I've got plenty of metal core bands and heavy metal bands on my ipod, appreciate the instrumentals for once and the fact they are trying to improve different aspects instead of just screaming vocals (coming from someone who loves a good screamer)
I've noticed that too. People tend to hate on clean vocals just because most metal now a days has screaming or growling. Not ALL metal has to have screaming/growling vocals and some people just don't appreciate the cleans like I do. I don't mind cleans at all just as long as the singer actually sounds like a dude and not a girl (Kellin Quinn, Vic Fuentes) Lol.
As of late, I've been digging clean vocals more and more. I understand long term fans get a little angry when their favourite screaming heavy band lightens up, but coming from a "new" fan of this band, I really really enjoy this! It reminds me a little bit of later It Dies Today.
To all that are getting bent out of shape over the vocals: These guys have been a band for just about 20 years. They have been making very driven Metal for ages so, I can understand and support this change. Not only are they giving way for a new style and a new dynamic for their music, but shit man they are getting old. These guys have been touring and working their asses off since before HALF of their fan-base were even out of grade school (including myself, of course). I can totally understand how it'd be time to just chill out and try to make some money. It's time for them to get some long overdue exposure and if writing some more 'radio-friendly' metal is the way they do it, then so be it. If you just straight up don't dig the vocals, I get that. Most modern metal fans seem to be scream elitists anyways. But at least try to understand that instead of flooding the internet with opinions over something that was out of your control in the first place.

I am seriously beyond shocked they did something like this....but in a majorly feel-good way. Straight-up this is some of the best material they've ever written. Like I always knew these guys were beyond talented for their specific brand of Atthegatescore.....but for them to pull-out Pop Punk influences and melodies out of nowhere, this is some seriously next level stuff. And this is coming from a guy who's Iphone has Inquisition, The Ruins of Beverast, Backtrack, Lvcifyre, and Nails on his Iphone. Totally going to jock this hard while I'm sporting my Nike Air Max 90 infareds, khakis, Portal shirt, and Obey snapback hat 10/10.

I just knew nothing good was going to come from them signing with Sumerian. Turns out I was right. This is really hard for me to say but..I don't even know if these guys are my favorite band anymore..ouch.
yeah lets just all hate a band of adding a little variety into their music I've loved DH for years and i think this is the best album they've put out so far and if you think songs like rapture in exile beneath the blacking skies or lost for life sounds main stream you're delusional
