When I was in 7th grade I took karate and this guy who always gave me a ride home would argue about that that song, "I would really love to see you tonight", about that exact line I'm not talking about movin' in. We came up with dozens of answers for what he actually sang. Finally after weeks of guessing he actually discovered the actual lyrics, it was like an epiphany for us. LOL. Nowadays you just google it, but in 1974 that was not an option.
Yep i realized after the show was over i said the wrong country. I was thinking about the cover of Fire in the Brain since that’s Quorthon’s arm (from Bathory) and HE’S Swedish so my mind swapped everything around 😅
Thanks to Sydney for the Great Radio Controversy reminder. Just listened to it for the first time in years. A fine album. Have I missed the programme takeaways?
Okay, Three albums that fit the same category: 1. Empire - Queensryche. 2. Gaudi - Alan Parsons Project 3. The Collection - Ultravox (One of the best greatest hits albums in my opinion). Midge Ure brought something to Ultravox that made them one of the greatest New Wave/Rock bands of the 1980s.
As usual, thanks for the great show. Also, hearing Pete talk about The Vintage Caravan made me wonder why Stoner Rock doesn't get more love on this show.
Another reason why Butch is the GOAT. I love my hard rock and metal but man is "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight" such a great song, lol. When I rediscovered it last year again I listened to it about 10 times in a row. 😆
Check out Funkadelic live 9/12/1971 from Michigan released in 1996...Eddie Hazel on lead guitar kills it on “Maggot Brain” Even Jimi Hendrix would be proud of that one !!!
Thanks to Pete’s ranking of the Fleetwood Mac albums, I’ve recently been introduced, and playing the heck out of, Mystery To Me and Bare Trees. Thanks SoT!
"Bird of Prey" (Uriah Heep) "Doom Boy" (The Dirty Nil) "The WASP (Texas Radio and the Big Beat)" (The Doors) Current album spinning... The Battle at Garden's Gate (Greta Van Fleet)
England Dan & John Ford Coley were produced by Kyle Lehning who went to my college (many years before me) but came back for a masterclass. GREAT song! "Premonition" by Survivor is a classic. In my opinion, their best album top to bottom. Sydney..you always look great! AND healthy! LOL My band used to play "Over My Head" back in the late 1980's. MONSTER song and a very memorable riff! These songs have been in my head a lot lately. "Condition Human" - Queensryche "Beat Of a Heart" - Scandal "I'm So Glad" - Cream Honorable mention: "Falling Off the Edge of the World" - Black Sabbath The three albums I have been listening to: "Spectres" - Blue Oyster Cult "Casino" - Al Di Meola "Live at Jimmy's" - Maynard Ferguson
Songs stuck in my head: Borknagar- Up North Blue Öyster Cult- Astronomy Dire Straits- Where do you think you're going? Manilla Road- Necropolis Judas Priest- One shot of glory Black Sabbath- Heaven and Hell Angel Witch- Angel Witch
I always have a song or two dancing in my brain. For the time being it’’s Deep Purple’s - Speed King, it’s Thin Lizzy’s - Chinatown and it’s Kiss’ - Strutter. Three album i’ve been listening to lately: Black Sabbath - Mob Rules, Uriah Heep - Look at Yourself and Miles Davis - Aura.
I went to see George Clinton and the P-Funk All-Stars in Buffalo in around 1995 or 96. I got a pair of free tickets the day of the concert, and by the time I had wrangled someone who wanted to go, we ended up about an hour late to the show, which was in full swing when we got there. They played for 2 and a half hours after we walked in. Great, great show!
Yes Sydney! I love "I Don't Wanna Know", such a great song from that album! My personal favorite is "Go Your Own Way" with that one right behind it. And you're right, it never gets talked about which is a shame.
This song just popped in my head a couple of days ago "Devil With The Blue Dress On" by Mitch Ryder And The Detroit Wheels the other two are " Zombie" by The Cranberries and " This Is My Hell" by Ashes Of Ares
I'm a day late watching, but had to laugh when Butch recalled the HVS drinking game near the end based on our Facebook convo ... funnily enough the 4th name he forgot was ... EDWARD!!! Lol Next time you guys have a full house, the game is on!! While I'm here, the three songs that I can't get out of my head lately are: 1) Billion Dollar Babies by Alice 2) Goodbye Stranger by Supertramp and 3) Quit Waking Me Up from the new Cheap Trick record (although Pete's pick Here's Looking At You is no slouch).
Three random ones for me: Songs: "Moonchild" by Iron Maiden, "Let Your Love Flow" by The Bellamy Brothers, and "Closer To The Heart" by Rush. Albums: "Mirrors" by Blue Oyster Cult, "An Emotional Fish" by An Emotional Fish, and "October" by U2. I'm a big fan of eighties pop though, so there's lots of those, too. Lastly, "The Hunter" is my favorite Dokken song, too, Syd.

Def Leppard- Hysteria Audioslave - Gasoline Led Zeppelin - Ramble on. 👍Sydney, I agree about ❤️ Eddie Money❤️ and now I've got Two Tickets to Paradise stuck in my head. It is a great song.
Sidney, my favorite song off of Rumours is "You Make Lovin' Fun". Christine McVie does not get enough credit for her input into that classic band. My runner-up off of Rumours is "The Chain".
I saw Survivor open for Bryan Adams in 1985. I was surprised how good they were! I love a few Eddie Money songs, but I hate Take Me Home Tonight, lol. Ryan - I celebrate his entire catalog....HAHAHA! KING'S X FTW!!!!!!!!!!! RIP Les McKeown of Bay City Rollers fame. Saturday Night forever, brotha!

Pete...please consider having as a guest Niamh the Prog Nerd....she is very insightful and entertaining,..she is very young buts knows her Prog and is also studying music production at a University this fall....she is pleasant and can talk about many styles of music, she luvs metal too, she is a big fan of Sea of Tranquility .....Alright Peace
I concur. Just started watching her vids. She'd be a great panelist for In the Prog Seat.
Michael Bolton did opened for Ozzy in the Bark at the Moon tour. Saw it August 4, 1984 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Wow!! It was fun listening to all of your picks!! My picks are the new Cheap Trick ‘ In Another World ‘ CD and the song, ‘ Here Comes the Summer ‘ plays in my head constantly!! I’ve be listening to, Chevelle ‘ Niratias’ Evanescence ‘ The Bitter Truth ‘, Halestorm ‘ 10th Anniversary LP/CD , Muse ‘ The Second Law ‘, Immortal Guardian ‘Psychosomatic’, Liquid Tension Experience 3 , Praying Mathis ‘ Time Tells No Lies ‘ , “Gravity”and others . When I was in 7th grade I took karate and this guy who always gave me a ride home would argue about that
that song, "I would really love to see you tonight", about that exact line I'm not talking about movin' in. We came up with dozens of answers for what he actually sang. Finally after weeks of guessing he actually discovered the actual lyrics, it was like an
epiphany for us. LOL. Nowadays you just google it, but in 1974 that was not an option.
Ryan, OZ is actually from Finland. They are active mostly in Sweden nowadays, as the members have moved there in the early 80s
I was just about to make that same correction. Glad that you already did!
"I'm not talkin 'bout BOLIVIAN" is what I used to hear for many yrs. Like WTF? Never knew till today! Thanx Bud!
Okay, Three albums that fit the same category:
1. Empire - Queensryche.
2. Gaudi - Alan Parsons Project
Agreed
Thanks SoT!
Thanks to this episode, I now can’t get “Can’t Get It Out Of My Head” (ELO) out of my head.
You beat me to it.
"Bird of Prey" (Uriah Heep)
"Doom Boy" (The Dirty Nil)
"The WASP (Texas Radio and the Big Beat)" (The Doors)
Current album spinning...
The Battle at Garden's Gate (Greta Van Fleet)
"I'm not talking bout the linens....." 🤣🤣🤣🤣
England Dan & John Ford Coley were produced by Kyle Lehning who went to my college (many years before me) but came back for a masterclass. GREAT song!
"Premonition" by Survivor is a classic. In my opinion, their best album top to bottom.
Sydney..you always look great! AND healthy! LOL
My band used to play "Over My Head" back in the late 1980's. MONSTER song and a very memorable riff!

Turn the cross upside down is a hypnotic heavy metal evil masterpiece! I've loved it for decades!

Reading the title, the first song I thought of was ELO's "Can't Get It Out Of My Head", and now I literally can't.
This song just popped in my head a couple of days ago "Devil With The Blue Dress On" by Mitch Ryder And The Detroit Wheels the other two are " Zombie" by The Cranberries and " This Is My Hell" by Ashes Of Ares
Butch for the win. Showing some P-FUNK love.
G.B.H. Tee!!! One of the greats!!!
City Baby Attacked by Rats and City Baby’s Revenge are legendary!
Why are there that many dislikes? I don't get it. Really cool show. One that always comes to my head is "B*tch" from the Rolling Stones.

Songs: "Moonchild" by Iron Maiden, "Let Your Love Flow" by The Bellamy Brothers, and "Closer To The Heart" by Rush.
The Hunter by Dokken is MY favorite too.
Lately, the Tower of Power song You're So Wonderful, So Marvelous is playing in my head all the time it seems.

👍Sydney, I agree about
❤️ Eddie Money❤️ and now I've got Two Tickets to Paradise stuck in my head. It is a great song.
Sidney, my favorite song off of Rumours is "You Make Lovin' Fun". Christine McVie does not get enough credit for her input into that classic band. My runner-up off of Rumours is "The Chain".
I know. Christine's voice is beautiful. I like Stevie, but I love Christine.
I saw Survivor open for Bryan Adams in 1985. I was surprised how good they were!
I love a few Eddie Money songs, but I hate Take Me Home Tonight, lol.
Ryan - I celebrate his entire catalog....HAHAHA!
