On my last day here in Manila i decided to go visit the capitals famous attraction, Intramuros. This is essentially where the city of Manila started and ended. This was the first place the Spanish settled and built up this walled city. Around 300 years ago this was the main capital for the kingdom of Spain during those times while ruling the Philippines. This city of intramuros and the Fort the Spanish built called “Fort Santiago” has seen numerous battles in war and many historical changes, yet the place remains beautifully in tact for tourist to visit. Would you visit Intramuros?

It was July 4 1946 is the true independence of the Philippines but in 1962 President Diosdado Macapagal moved the independence in June 12 1898

@@PoJoTheBackPacker do not Americanize the Spanish words or even the Filipino words because every word has its own proper pronounciation and you should learn that before saying those foreign words. And it’s a little bit annoying hearing Americanized Spanish words

1886 not 1896, after the death of Jose Rizal in 1886 four years later in 1890 the American invaded Philippines to intervened the civil war between the Spaniards and the Filipino mestizo and Indios rebellon. The American proclaimed war to the Spaniards, the Spanish lost the war, the American won. And the took over Philippines and colonized it for about 50 years.
