Ive been to Philippines many times and even with the machine guns ive never felt unsafe. Just never make anyone 'lose face' or dance around flaunting you have money and they dont and you be sweet. The guards with the pump actions are actually super polite and helpful if you ask for directions etc. Prance like a show pony and some one nasty will be watching.

I watched many vlogs about the slum and poor area of the Philippines, one thing I can say these people may be poor from wealth but when it comes to happiness, humbleness, hospitality and respect they are the bes. I have t been to many western countries many rich places that are worse than these poor areas of the Philippines.
As a Cambodian and Australian most people have a bad image of Cambodia from the press but mostly from Vietnam and Thailand because of the past conflict and they don't want people to know how awesome the country is. Cambodia has the most awesome people in the world I never see happier people.
