    Great vid very simple and straightforward. When you make future height adjustments to the spring part do you also need to adjust the shock level again as well?

    • @functionandform
      @functionandform  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes you want to adjust the spring first then match the shock to the spring height

    • @Dnasty1
      @Dnasty1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@functionandform if this isn’t done (I.e. someone just adjusta the spring without the shock) what would happen? The shock does not have any bearing on the ride height does it?

    • @functionandform

      @@Dnasty1 if you dont adjust you could potentially only be using part of the damper stroke. You can also be bottoming out the shock which can cause damage or wear out your shock faster then it is designed to

    how do i adjust rear ride height on type 2 coils? i was told to loosen the bolt on the lower mount on the strut and to spin it upwards, did both sides and was still the same ride height. loosened them the opposite way and still the same. a bit confused as this is my first time working with multi link suspension and don't know whether i adjust my ride height from strictly the strut or if i have to touch the spring part because i've been hearing different things from different people. thanks for any feedback!

    • @functionandform
      @functionandform  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      so if your rear suspension is divorced rear, meaning the spring and the damper are separate, then you adjust the height with the spring and match that height with the damper, if its not a divorced rear and its one whole unit, then you adjust the height with the lower mount and not the spring. Hope that helps

    I just bought a set of function forms type 2 and I was amazed with the packaging and the product. Until when it came time for installation. There was no instructions or tip sheet and I couldn’t find anything on their website as well. I was looking for a video and found this clown of a video. I’d expect a better video from function forms. This video is missing all the crucial details and information you need to install your suspension

    • @functionandform
      @functionandform  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      the best way to adjust height is to adjust from the Shock not from the spring, the spring perch adjust preload hope that helps

    • @khalilyounger519

      That’s not the correct way to adjust height. You adjust your height with the spring perch

    So I installed a new tires on my lowered car And I’m rubbing on rear which has a seperate shocks and springs, I want to adjust ride height but Will I be able to adjust the spring perch to adjust the ride height w/o removing it from the car?

    • @functionandform
      @functionandform  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you want to adjust ride height with the damper (aka shock) not the spring perch, The spring perch is only to adjust the preload. And yes you should be able to adjust the height without having to remove it.
