      I'm glad I was able to help. $3400 for 14 Explorer is a great deal, but i guess it will need some work if it is that cheap. In todays market it is worth 12 - 15k once fully restored

      @QuiteAlright Right cause I like Fords I've had several and you take care of them you can pack some miles I probably could have gave the guy 28 to 3000 for it but 4000 in repair lol.

      I’ve got front suspension noise on my 2012 limited and can’t seem to figure it out. I’ve replaced struts, under control arms due to one having ripped bushing so I did both sides anyway. Replaced tie rods, sway bar links three times on drivers side only for some reason , a left strut tower and probably gonna replace another strut tower on my right side due to a popping spring sound when I turn, a wheel bearing over a span of 5-6 years not all at once but after all that I still seam to get some kind of clunky sounds when I drive over rough rd that almost sounds like metal on metal. I’ve got new bushings for my anti- bar but haven’t installed them yet. Any ideas on what else it might be if that doesn’t work? Thanks in advance and great video I too have the air bag light and now my Sony heater unit doesn’t respond correctly or completely turn off anymore. I get the fume smell in my car even after recall fixed a few things but I was told it could also be a crack in my exhaust manifold converter under the hood which I will be getting checked out soon.

      @@cruzario1 Hi sorry to hear you are having problems with your Explorer. Hard to say what could be the issue with your suspension without lifting the car on the hoist, but usually if everything looks tight and there is still loud banging I would replace sway bar bushings. They are very cheap and easy to replace and usually take care of the problem. For some reason lots of mechanics fail to check those. I like to change bushings at the same time as sway bar links. If there is still noise afterwards, then you will have to find somebody experienced to look at the car maybe even take it to ford dealer and go for a test drive with a mechanic. I will also add that lately we are having lots of problems with parts quality, installed expensive "good quality" front struts on Ford Taurus and left side was banging constantly. Had to go through 3 sets of struts. So there is that factor as well

    It is time for consumers to start to request manufacturers to install drain plugs and level plugs to check the status of the lubricants.

    Besides the water pump built inside the engine, that engine is super reliable

    The inside of my 2015 sport has started to smell like gas. What can it be??

    • @QuiteAlright
      @QuiteAlright  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It could be as simple as a worn gas cap. Try to inspect it and check the rubber seal on in. Also could be a small leak somewhere in the evap system

    Great video! My 2013 Ford Explorer XLT AWD has about 172k miles. Where is your shop? Interested coming in do the PTO power intake unit.

      Hi, I'm in Canada but not taking any work right now, mostly focusing on sales and import / export can-us. It is a really straightforward job and most of the shops can do it for you

    Anyone have the service Advancetrac, ABS, Hill Decent, Traction Control lights coming on with tones. It clears after parked overnight then randomly comes on. Replaced battery, Alternator says good. O'Reilly and Advance auto checked codes. No codes are being thrown. I wiggled the wheel sensor wires and nothing changed when warning lights were off or on. Maybe the computer at those 2 parts places doesn't check wheel speed sensors? Brake fluid is full also.
    Any one had or have the no codes thrown with dash lit up?

    • @QuiteAlright
      @QuiteAlright  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm hard to say what is going on without looking at the car. It sounds like damaged or corroded wires towards one of the abs sensors since it comes intermittently. But to confirm car would have to be lifted up on a hoist and inspect everything

    Thank you for all the details and the financial information. I bought a 2015 PIU, so I’m interested on the subject. I just replaced loud rear wheel bearing hubs. It was a pretty tough job to do in the driveway, as those become welded to the knuckles. Also, the RPMs seem to jump up and down on lower speeds. Can’t figure why. Have you seen something like that on these trucks?

    • @QuiteAlright
      @QuiteAlright  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome. If you are having problems with the RPM while idling try cleaning the throttle body, often that is the problem on Ford Explorers

    • @andreik1775
      @andreik1775 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@QuiteAlright thank you very much for the quick reply. I cleaned the throttle body with half effort when I was changing the PTU fluid from the top vent. I think it helped some, I should take it out and clean it well. I should have mentioned, it only happens when the car is moving at a low speed. It idles fine though.

    • @QuiteAlright
      @QuiteAlright  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmmm very hard to say what it is. Could be spark plugs, maf sensor, vacuum leak somewhere...more things could cause it

    • @andreik1775
      @andreik1775 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@QuiteAlright thank you! I took off the throttle body today to clean. It was almost immaculate though. I cleaned it some and put it back. I also replaced about 4 quarts of ATF and it seemed to help, but maybe it’s just a wishful thinking. I will check the plugs like you mentioned. I got a steering wheel off of a 2013 Taurus, will try to swap it. I hope you sold that Explorer at what you wanted.

      Ohh yea I'm familiar with the job. Water pump on the 3.5L is inside the engine and it is a pretty big job. We did it recently on a Taurus 3.5L
