good day, Robert here from hot Florida. My wife has heard about spas are not so good for females. Would this be a myth or is this a fact?

If the water is sanitized it is a myth for sure. I have had one for over 20 years! No problems here

Hey awesome info on your page most appreciated. Got a quick question for you, so i just drained and filled my hotsprings grande salt water spa and put the amounts of salt and chlorine in it and its green. My ph and Alkalinity are high what do i do to clear it up? Also i filled the tub through my water softener that filters my home? Thank in advance

Sounds like you have copper. I would get a CU lator. Or stain and scale but you will need phosphate remover as well with the stain and scale. Get the alkalinity down.

@TheHotTubLady I'll have to take a sample to get tested. It's been clear before that's why I'm a little confused since I just filled it back up.

my tap water is ph 6.4 and hardness between 0-25ppm so I use Cal Hypo as my sanitizer. also everything else has CYA in it which CDC forbids in public pools and is recommending NONE in hot tubs either these days,,,,,,,,,,,curious..... are there any other options besides cal hypo that DON'T have CYA?

It is great that you are checking on this and cya can be a nuisance. However if you are using chlorine as your main sanitizer it is important that you drain your hot tub every 3-4 months thius never letting the cya get to high. You could always use liquid chlorine that has no cya…. It also has a very high pH so it would help with your source water…. IHowever I do not find it as effective nor convenient. I would stick with the concentrate personally. Thanks for watching and your support.

So we just set up our 2023 vanguard with the salt system. We slowly added the chlorine and got it up to 10ppm. So we used it once before the heat wave and then it went down to 0. We used a little freshwater and left the top off and the chlorine went back up. Haven't used the tub and all levels look good except for chlorene and bromine which went back to 0. Salt system was turned up to 6 yesterday. Do we add more chlorene or more freshwater MPS chlorine free oxidizer?

I typically have all of my new customers of this size of tub. Add 3 tablespoons of chlorine everyday for the first 3 days. It usually gets you caught up and your salt system can take over from there. The key thing to remember is the salt system can only produce 1.5 tsp of chlorine in a 24 hour period. At level 10 or a boost cycle. Being a brand new how tub you were behind from manufacturing residue. This will help you catch up.

@TheHotTubLady perfect I will add a cup of liquid hot tub chlorene and continue to monitor. Thank you!
