  • Let's talk homemaking, managing your home economy and learning to save money. Often, Christian women fear quitting their jobs to come home because of losing their paycheck and feeling they are no longer contributing to their household. But it doesn't have to feel that way! The home is an economy! Praise God. There is much work to be done and practical ways we can steward our home so it is a productive place, rather than consumptive.

Spot on Sister Kelli! ❤️ As a 43-year-old mama of nine, I can HONESTLY say, trust the Lord as your provider sisters. I started staying at home when our now 17-year-old was one and while our plan was “just a few years”, God kept providing and laid on our hearts to DISCIPLE/home educate our children. He has been providing for every need and abundantly, I might add. He is worthy to be trusted ladies. If the Holy Spirit is speaking to you regarding being at home or home educating, He will provide! 🙌🏻❤️

In the 1970's, women, in my churc, were sewing, and making their dresses. T made 2 of my own useing a pattern from the dept. Store. Of course l had help, staying with my aunt, who had a beautiful desk/ sewing machine her husband bought her. Her daughters, also made their church dresses. She was a pastor's wife. Both my dresses, were proffesional-looking, made fromm easy- care, double knite fabric. I really loved these 2 dresses.❤❤😊

I worked in banking-the clothes, the shoes, the nails, the hair, I drove 70 miles a day. The boss actually gave all of us a hard time over our clothes and shoes AND MAKEUP (it was another woman). Women that never wore makeup were suddenly buying makeup. It was horrible. Just to escape my extreme unhappiness I would go on my break each day and spend $3-5 on a “snack” bc I just wanted to escape my reality for 15 minutes. That adds up.

Great ideas. I'd like to add a way of thinking about the expense of gardening. People say that it's cheaper to cook meals at home, but that's only true if you have a stove, pots and pans, a refrigerator, etc. If you have to buy all the equipment at once, it might be cheaper to have dinner at Panera. In the same way, if you're just getting started, gardening can be pricey because you need to get the foundation in place. Aftet that, garden produce can be as little as 1/10 the price of store bought food. I realized this in my third year of gardening.

So good! I have struggled with contentment a LOT in my life, but there are moments when I'm sitting in my house, looking around and filled with so much gratitude for what we have. When my husband and I bought our home, the ladies who owned it before left so many things behind- curtains, furniture, etc. They were overwhelmed with trying to get rid of all of their stuff, and we said, "Just leave it, and we'll deal with it." So our home was mostly furnished with beautiful things when we moved in! God has provided so many of our needs and wants, and I am amazed by the beautiful life He has given to us. Thank you for another inspiring video!

When stop at a McDonald's drive thru for a senior coffee the girls have their nails done as well as elaborate hair dyes and braiding. I thought about it and they are spending 1-2 days wages for these things. When I worked I spent a lot of money on hair dye and cuts at beauty shop as well as shoes and nice uniforms. No time to make food from scratch so eat low quality fast food. It is a vicious cycle.

I just quit a part time job teaching english at an institute. I had to take two busses to and from (4 total) had to pack my kids lunch and take them to my moms for her to care for them (free thank God) and usually I would have to buy something on the way as well. Then getting a wardrobe to be presentable (secondhand but still $$) and then they had a power outage and broke my new laptop i had worked so hard to get and got no compensation. So all in all i wasted months of my life at this place.

I worked with a woman once at an office job who was in her late 30s, never married, and she lived with a divorced woman in her 50s. Both women had worked two jobs at most points in their adult life. One was the 9-5 “fancy” job at an office or bank where they had their nails and hair and suits on, and the other was a restaurant job that was for the tips so they could pay for their hair and nails and suits. I remember at 24 thinking “please don’t ever let this be me!”

I started buying bulk when CoVid started dying down and stores were getting restocked bc I was stuck with shopping in my moms well stocked pantry bc I couldn’t get anything at the store. I go twice a year to Sam’s. Once for meats and other food. and the next visit is household items. Now, I have learned to make things from scratch and buy only meats and ingredients to make those items…..even my cleaners. With the exception of bleach. I have to have my bleach. I can’t give that up lol. To me it’s not clean if it’s not bleached 😂

My husband taught me to budget. I don't often work since I was trying to focus on our marriage life, preparing etc. I still have my part time job. I earn small amount so sometimes I become emotional when my husband says we should write down our expenses I wasn't open about it. I felt like I don't earn anymore so I have to ask him everything. I used to think that way. My husband would say my money is yours because you're my wife. Slowly I learn to budget to the point I pushed myself I would bring two wallets one for food and for other expenses specifically and every time I spent I wrote literally one by one on my phone then transfer on my budget notebook oh it gave me headache haha so I'm learning what is the best way. Sometimes my friend would ask me while eating at the restaurant, what are you doing?

The father was the priest of the family if they lived too far from the city or town. Christianiry came from lsreal, not rome, ltaly. N.t. book of acts,2: 1-- 2:38. O. T. And n. T are connected!!!!! 😊 holiness is a prosess, a journey, if we call ourselves christians, why not , seriously persue it? Sure, there will be a battle, the apostel all suffered.
