I love the "feeling" I am able to create in my home with my seasonal decor. Nothing better than that cozy feeling in fall and winter. I also achieve this with different scents in the rooms for the different seasons. I love celebrating and thank God for all four seasons we get to enjoy. I lean more towards being clutter free than being a minimalist. I live by, "a place for everything and everything in it's place."
Yes! Love that- I love transitioning from season to season- we do a lot of that with how we set up the furniture in the home... when I move stuff and open up the fireplace?! Oh... you know! Haha! #cozyseason
I used to adhere to the country look. So much stuff. So much clutter. So much to dust and take care of. Then one day I thought my home looked like a store and that's when the buzzer went off in my head. What was I doing, what was I trying to prove, so much stuff, so much waste. Sometimes I'd laugh and say "the devil made me do it," but you know what.....there is some truth to that. He knows my weakness, buying things. Then I started gathering things and donated them to our local thrift shop that raises money for its animal shelter. So I put that to good use and curated my home with things that were really special to me. So while I'm not a minimalist, I agree with what Maureen said, "a place for everything and everything in its place," just no senseless clutter. A clean, clear, clutterless home lifts you and your family, spiritually.
When I see your home I really don't think you are "minimalist" Yes for an American you might be self conscious about nature and making your own cleaning stuff, but sorry you are not minimalist... a minimalist would not even have apparels. Or such a household... People in other places sometimes don't even have walls or a roof. Don't get me wrong I'm glad you are so blessed to have a house but that's not the case of so many people...
@anamarianoya339 minimalism means different things to different people though. It's not about having as little as you can. It's about getting rid of the things that don't matter to you to make room for the things that do. We all go through different stages of minimalism too. I am to a point where I like less than that now. But we don't know what she started with. 😊
You are great, go girl!!! My husband died suddenly and I am a widow with 6 kids. I really hope that young women listen to your advice , because it is so fundamental for happy marriage and a happy home. In my heart and mind I kind of feel that I knew all this before from Bible , but I feel like I could have done better with him. And now it is too late for me, hopefully I can teach my daughters the things needed.
EXACTLY!!! Oh my goodness-- yes! Don't go. 100% savings! Haha! So glad the TH-cam powers connected our paths-- what a blessing it is to serve and grow in fellowship with others! XO
I just found this channel today, and these were my same thoughts!! A Christian, a minimalist, a homesteader... and celebrates the Biblical feasts!! My heart is so happy to see there are others out there too!!
Our live Christmas tree stayed up embarrassingly until February sometimes when we lived in our house in Virginia. A friend dropped by unexpectedly one day and commented she loved that it was still up. She had had tragedy and disappointment in her life and the tree brightened her day.
When. I was young and starting out, I'd leave my tree up until Feb . 15 we'd often have snow or just cold. I'd have a few snowmen about. After Christmas and make tree more snow item related. Fix cozy meals at night,. Russian tea. Brewing on stove. Or hot cocoa on weekends, candlelit dinners, Cornish hens,. Soups,. Hot cider,. Pies and ice cream, special movies,. Popcorn,. Add caramel as a winter treat. Enjoy the lights. The friends family visits and so glad. I did. I leave it up thru Epiphany now,.. still. Start putting it up the day after Thanksgiving or that night.
We slowly start decorating during Advent and actually do put up our Christmas Tree on the 9 days prior to Christmas. We leave our Christmas Tree until February 2nd to mark the traditional end of the Christmas Season with the Presentation of the Child Christ in the Temple. The kiddos enjoy our Christmas decorations and visitors and relatives too! ❤
I wash my clothes with vinegar and baking soda and they smell wonderful. For a spray cleaner: peel a piece of citrus and put the peel in a Mason jar and cover it with white vinegar. Leave it about 2-5 weeks. Strain it into a spray bottle and add water. It works great and smells wonderful. I'm using grapefruit right now. After I peeled it, I mixed the juice and pulp with baking soda as a shower scrub. I planted the seeds and have dear little plants in the window.
As a mom of 12, I do occasionally get paper towels or paper plates. I also do use zip lock bags, but wash them multiple times before they aren't any good. Sometimes convenience supercedes sustainability. Especially during the time of a new baby.
Boycotting any business is your right as an American (for now) but shunning an entire group of people is anything but Christian. As a Believer in Christ AND born homosexual, this is highly offensive. And btw, the grooming Target engaged in is NOT ok. - your fellow child of God and homosexual
I love that you mention God giving us everything we need to be healthy and take care of our homes and lives. As a newer Christian that used to be very liberal with a strong care for the environment, it saddened me to see many Christians not caring at all about health and sustainability etc. This should be a big platform for us. We know God created our bodies to be temples, that He made the Earth and seas. We should be caring for the environment and our health BETTER because we know who made them. Glad to see you sharing these ideas. I also love watching your subscriber count rise everytime I click a video. You are on the up and up, may God continue to bless you and your channel. Xx
All people who live on the planet should be good stewards of the Earth. It’s God’s creation. Isn’t all this horrible weather telling all of us to look up and see what we have all done to destroy the Earth through our greed and need for everything made of petroleum products? Take a look around your house and see what is plastic. Take a look at the inside of your dishwasher and refrigerator. Plastic! Take a look at your clothes closet and see what is made of polyester. None of these products were invented in Jesus time and we need to clean up God’s Earth. The lie that there is no global warming was created to keep those who sell us oil in business. Everyone, Christians and non-Christian needs to wake up to what we have done to God’s creation. Christian’s and non-Christian’s are all dying in these catastrophic weather events. Gays and non-gays are dying in these weather events. Babies who were not aborted are in these weather events. God created all of us and ALL of us are here to solve this problem and be good stewards of GOD’S Earth.
God created and can destroy, Jesus left the commandment to go and share the gospel Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Not to conserve the earth, don’t get me wrong I am as “green” and eco friendly as I can be but I know how wrapped up people can get into it and it becomes their only goal/mission for them (it happened to me) Jesus freed me from those things. I still do my part but now my priority is Jesus and sharing the gospel, God can clean the world, He can make it new if he wanted so I focus my time and energy on Him and his commandments. ❤
You’re a Christian wife and mom, minimalist, and carnivore! Where have you been all my life lol!? I’m so glad God led me to this video. My 20’s I have been influenced by secular values, with feminist lies, and shallow influencers that only made me a consumer of Target and things I didn’t need. I’m in my 30’s now and pregnant with my first due this fall and have been trying to cultivate a life and home that honors God. Thank you so much for the work you. Love how you mentioned that you don’t buy things that you can only use once. excited to binge watch the rest of your videos! ❤
Baghahahaha! Did we just become best friends?! YUP! 😎 Haha! Isn't it awesome how God connects paths?! I love it! So glad to have you here-- anything we can ever do, just ask! XO
I’m so happy to have found this channel!! I’m 24 and not married or a mother yet, but I’m taking notes! You are awesome!! God bless you and your sweet family ❤️
Aww, ALL glory to God!! I wish I was paying attention at 24-- would have saved myself a lot of heartache! Praying for you, sweet friend! So. glad you're here! XO
We started saving the atlas jars from the Alfredo sauce that my daughter uses for drinking glasses. Their free with the sauce and hold up better than store bought drinking glasses and Mama doesn't cry if they get dropped ❤. Love this!! Thanks for sharing!! Have a blessed weekend ❤
Side note!! Those are safe for water bath canning and if I remember rightly, they might be ok for pressure canning!! I remember doing a few full of water to test and they worked. So test it for yourself, but they will water bath can perfectly!
@@mommapanda1285 I use them for water bath canning and for pressure canning. As long as it canning lids fits and it says Atlas then they are definitely a canning jar.
That’s so funny I just downsized because I was like I am tired of living of this world and bought myself a tiny cottage and I thought I was the only one that enjoyed walking through it but don’t need to own it
Your type of minimalist way of living is one that I can get on board with. Still homey, still functional, still smart! You are putting proper values on the right things, and it keeps one centered on the truly valuable things in life. God bless you and yours.
I'm beyond grateful to God that I came across your channel! We ladies need to stick together and do as our Father has instructed as followers of Him! I have a heart for ladies ministry and I thank you for your dedication and faithfulness!
Aw, thank you for your kind. words! Amen- what a blessing and honor it is to walk in the ways of the Lord! XO So glad we get to connect! Be sure to come and join us for the Biblical Womanhood study (link in description) - we love partnering with churches to do the studies there. Just email me if you want to discuss any further- heavenlymindedhome@gmail.com XO
I, too, am so happy to have found your channel! These are things I am working on doing in my life. Once I began living a biblical life, I began to see how “different” I am, and how the world really wants me to put my love and trust in all the wrong things. It’s amazing the shift I have experienced. Thanks for all you are doing! 😊
I feel so validated by this video. I used to feel so depressed when we couldn't afford to buy paper goods and fancy cleaners. It's so funny how it's popular and minimal to do the things I used to do because I didn't have a choice. I really love how you challenge us to examine our hearts ❤.
Be careful what soaps, lotions, toothpaste, and shampoos you may be using. There are natural alternatives to everything we put on and in our bodies. Many of the chemicals in these products were never meant for the human body.
I remember the old Bissell sweepers. Picked up everything on floors and area rugs. Not electric and you empty it like a dustpan! Wish could find one now!
Fuller Brush still has them, and they are the very BEST. Everything they have is first rate, some of these carpet sweepers on the market aren’t very good, but the one made by Fuller Brush is fantastic, and always picks up every smidge.
Just found your channel and what a breath of fresh air it is. I agree wholeheartedly with you. This world and the things in it are temporary. I’m storing up my treasures in Heaven. ❤🙌🏻
Dollar tree sells Cleaning vinegar. I used it and baking soda a lot. I also used the orange rinds and vinegar in the spray bottle. We have downsized a lot the last couple years and donated a lot. I wish you realized when you are young what you really do not need to be happy. Nothing they advertise or try and talk you into spending your money on will every make you happy. It may make you content for a bit, but never fully happy. God's love is what fills our heart.
I really appreciate you🙏🏽 I'm such a minimalist, and have a rule that if it doesn't have at least 2 purposes, it's not needed. The treasures I cherish are my husband, children and pets. The rest is replaceable.
Love your heart. I also love seasonal decor. I feel deep joy when I change out the season in my home. I love Christmas. Mainly white lights. I hang lights everywhere. But honestly I have had my decor for many years. Plus I do knock offs from thrift stores. I do zero seasonal shopping at Target, etc. Thanks for your great tips!
Really love the last point. It is definitely the one I struggle with. I’m over here asking God to help me to be content and when he does I complain. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️. Eventually I will get there.
I buy paper kitchen towels but also use them as napkins too and to line our trays for eating on our laps. When those towels have stains then i use them for wiping things out before washing like frying pans ,plates etc. I get a good use out of them
Same here. Unless it's completely nasty from eating something like BBQ they get reused, it's usually to wipe the grease out of my cast iron, or drips on the counter from the coffee pot.
Since the beginning of this year I started simplifying my household, selling what I don't use anymore. Also started carnivore. This video is a confirmation 🙏🏻✝️
We are Christians but don’t celebrate secular holidays we used to before we became Christians but WOW it’s sooooo freeing and PEACEFUL 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 noooooo stress is PRICELESS!!!! Blessings y’all
We made “paper towels” out of new flannel and used the serger to finish the ends also did the same for “ napkins”. We also make our own soap, face cream, shampoo bars, lip balm. I have not bought any of these products in 8 years. My husband lost his job in 2019 and I got sick and have not worked since 2019. We figured out how to cut our expenses very quickly and honestly very easily
Paper towels is where I struggle. I just can’t use towels! We have them and we do use them but to be honest, they are not my my first choose. I get the concept and see the worth in what your saying. I’m making baby steps!! 💕 First timer here and glad I subscribed! 💕👋😁
Welcome!!! I think any change really can be weird at first.. I was always afraid to clean up yucky messes with a clean towel... now- we can't stand paper towels! LOL! Cloth is so much more efficient! Haha! XO
When I see your videos I said about ten times : " true " , to myself . Thank you ! Agree about almost every word . And you love animals ! Praise the Lord ! 🌹🌻🌹
Paper towels can be reused. Paper plates and plastic utensils should be kept for emergency purposes. If you have an extended power outage and have no way to sanitize plates, silverware and cups you're going to run the risk of illness.
Just starting to watch this, and wanted to comment on the paper plates, plastic utensils, etc. Normally I would agree with you -- I never used to keep things like that unless we were expecting a whole bunch of company. But the last few years I've had a combination of health problems and major back trouble, and it's been a life-saver to have paper plates and so on in the kitchen. When I'm feeling fairly well, I use the regular dishes, but on bad days when I'm not up to washing dishes, I'm so glad to have the paper stuff. I think we have to adjust for individual issues, and not be too dogmatic.
I agree. It is best not to use a lot of that kind of stuff if you can get by in other ways. BUT it depends on the season you are going through to make the decision that helps you out the best. Some things do not have to be the all or none approach. I totally love that she can go without paper plates and paper towels, but I can not. I use paper plates for the outside cat that I saved and to cut down on some of the dishes since I cook all meals at home and literally with paper plates struggle to do all the dishes. I love a clean, organized house and need that to make my house functional, and I need helpers and shortcuts. I do hate the waste of money, etc. it creates, though, so I use a few tricks to use less. Plus, I have an indoor cat, and we he gets sick paper towels are your best friend-- trust me! So use none, use less, use for necessities, but I advocate a moderate sensible approach in general verses the all or none on this one. I like this lady a lot, and I think she is doing what is best for her family and their season of life. Blessings to all!
Enjoyed this video. Christianity lead me to minimalism, too. I think it’s a natural consequence of not idolizing the things of this world…. and it is SO freeing.
Amen and amen! Aww, thank you! I just love some thrift store goodies! Haha! And I love to think about the home before ours that they adorned and were treasures in! 🥰
😅 Haha! Well, we don't celebrate Christmas-- but that doesn't mean we don't enjoy the beauty of each season-- and soft lights a'glow in the winter is definitely one! 😍😘 Just doesn't mean I have to have boxes and boxes of clutter to accomplish it- haha! XO
I agree! I love Celebrating Christmas. I don’t agree that it’s a secular holiday. I live in MN, and it’s tough once January hits! I really fight the irritability that the endlessly long, sub zero temps can do on one’s mood. We’re finally at a point where we can head south for a short time to escape it. I’ve been praying for this for 25 years! 😂 Winter is tough!
I adore the music at the beginning! This is a wonderful list that I pretty much adhere too as well. My biggest issue is memory stuff. I have way too much of that…..😂
It's my fave type of music!!! 🥰 And yes- memory stuff is lovely... but.... 😜 1 box per person in this house. 🤣 brandon and Travis both hide and save things.. because I'm always purging! 🤪
@@HeavenlyMindedHome It’s always best to purge things WITH your children and talk through why it needs to be done instead of just getting rid of it when they aren’t around. With the exception of trauma such as a house fire, many hoarders have said that they keep EVERYTHING because their mother was always getting rid of their stuff.😵💫
Here’s a few more... 1) Going to the nail salon 2) Going to the Eyelash Salon 3) Getting facials every month 4) A lot of clothes and shoes 5) Custom Jewelry 6) Excessive make up/skin care 7) Snacks that are unhealthy I have recently changed all my towels to Turkish cotton towels. They’re easier to care for, quick absorbing, dries fast. I even noticed my skin is not dry and flakey since I been using Turkish towels. I basically went back to the old way of doing things. Bon Ami is a great cleaner. Removes stains with little effort. I switched to Method cleaning products as well. Method doesn’t irritate my Asthma. There is so much people can cut, it’s just a personal preference.
Just starting making my own cleaning detergents, laundry detergents, oiles from lemon and orange peals. I've even learned how to make my own vinegars. Trading out our plastics for glass, wood and metals. When we were children sandwiches came wrapped in wax paper to keep them fresh. Many foods get repackaged into mason jars with oxygen absorbers. As for paper products, I keep several tubs of them for that emergency no one ever to really happen.. But we have an excess of linens on so many levels, time to sort and part with many.
New sub! Thank you 😊 👍🙏🏻 I believe minimalism is easily tailored to the specific family it’s meant for. I love your ideas! I am just starting my journey as I’m moving for the 4th time since the pandemic. I’ve realized I’m moving things From place to place that I haven’t used since before the pandemic!
@@HeavenlyMindedHome oh thank you for saying that. I felt a bit ashamed to point that out. This new place I will be staying put until I get into senior housing. I’m a retired 61 year old. I need to be 62 to qualify. My profile picture was at 40 years old 😂
I’m so glad you came up in my you tube feed. I admire your ways and wish I would have started this journey when my kids were young as I homeschooled as well. (In a cluttered home!) my youngest is about to graduate and I’m just now decluttering but- oh well. Glad you’re doing this for others. Keep it up!!
Much of what you share, I too, believe the Holy Spirit has encouraged and changed in my heart and life as well. Thank you for sharing for the benefit of those interested, new to the faith, and to remind we seasoned Sisters that though we know He is always with us, we're also not alone in a human sense either! We can find rest not in the world's ways, but in His leading and His peace. He is our Refuge 🙌
I just discovered your page, i have been seeking the Lord asking for direction to make me a Godly woman, wife an momma and i keep finding new things to help ❤ this is my second video of yours i have watched and i see God moving me in a new way. I know hes taking all the world out of me one piece at a time. I am so grateful i came across you! I look forward to more videos to help teach me ❤❤ i want to be a Godly woman and teach other women things i wish i would have had ny heart set this way always. ❤😢 God is so good!
I had to move into a smaller house and we totally downsized - it was a traumatic experience how much stuff we had - I mean nice stuff - but ultimately needless junk - all the furniture and decor and clothes and what not. Since then, I can go into any mall and I just don’t SEE the stores 😂, and I think thrice before I buy sth. I have become minimalist to the core :-).
I just found this website. I just watched two videos. One was minimalism and the other was 18 things you no longer do. I agree with you. I have already started doing most of the suggestions before watching your video. You did give me some more ideas, however. More than anything, it is good knowing that I am not the only one who thinks and feels like this. Honestly, I think some people think I'm weird or fanatical but I don't think so. Anyway, thanks for putting this put there.
I’m new to your channel. I’m a Christian mom, grandma and minimalist too. I don’t buy the seasonal decor either. That stuff is just more than I’m willing to manage. I do still use paper towels and zip lock bags because I work a lot and am tired so need convenience. I live in a small apt and almost all of my furniture was found at the dumpster. People throw out great stuff. I am the same. I feel like I’m just a traveler here and heaven is my real home so I don’t need a bunch of stuff ❤❤
So happy I got to listen to this. I needed to hear some of this. What did you do with your decor? I love decorating my home. Minimally. It makes me happy… so on the note of not living for myself, I no longer want to buy more. But what happens with what I have? I do purge every season… but I have a lot.
I gave mine away. I kept a few things, and then just donated the rest. I knew the problem was with my heart and my need for all the things, and the Lord would bless my obedience to deal with the convictions. I didn't worry about selling it or finding a way to store it... I donated it to the thrift store that supports our local women, children & men's shelters and let it go be a blessing to someone else. Hope that helps! XOXO
It depends. Do you not want all the decor that you already have? If you do then I would say store it and change it would seasonally or whenever you feel like you home needs a change. You won’t have to buy anything new and you will still have enough options to change out your decor. If you don’t want it then I suggest giving it to charity or thrift stores.
My Loving Heavenly Father once softly & lovingly spoke to my heart "Substance Not Stuff" ha ha He doesn't shame us just gently reminds us of Eternity & what truly matters & what doesn't!! ❤️
I only decorate for fall, Christmas and spring-which stays throughout summer as there are no bunnies or Easter eggs. Just long awaited flowers! ❤ However, you can interchange these decorations with decals depending on what they are. I love shopping around my house too and changing the look of something to make it more decorative! My husband introduced me to Public Square, which competes with Amazon. It’s Christian based and gives zero money to all of the evil organizations that we all don’t want to fund. It’s small, but it can only get larger if we use that instead! It’s nice to find like minded, Christian business that are out there to support. 🥰
Regarding paper products, my city is eliminating gas appliances. Water "snitches" are encouraged, for broken sprinklers. Therefore, paper towels and plates may be required because of government laws. Regarding minimalism ... I feel children are deprived. What if my Mom and Dad decided a piano was too much clutter, and their perfect basement space was marred? I say forget minimalism and let creativity rule until you move into a retirement facility!
Not sure how water waste and phasing out gas appliances (we don't use those either) results in having to switch over to one time use products- but certainly use what's best for you! Saving money and being more sustainable was a huge blessing for us- so we share about it! I certainly wouldn't say my children are deprived- while some might see "minimalism" in that way- I see that most often children have too much. There's toys and clutter everywhere which can be very overwhelming. Removing the need for excess stuff and instead pursuing togetherness, activities, and creativity is far more enriching!
IDK I love paper towels! But I could lose the antibacterial wipes. I have been convicted about them for a while. I just love the orange scent! But hello, we live in Florida I can use orange peels!
Haha- I could not waste another dollar on paper towels-- maybe my family just goes through too many! 😅 And yes- ditched the wipes! So many chemicals we're just rubbing all over. Plus- they are SO expensive! 😳 Time to get you some good fresh oranges and make a spray! XO
The only thing I hated was the vinyl table cloth. I'm sorry 😢 but I love everything else and I love the idea of not buying unnecessary items. And trying to be like everyone else..spending money out of coveting, wasting on napkins/paper towels, etc. Kudos to you for being YOURSELF!! 😊❤❤❤
I’m happy I found this channel, I’m also a “minimalist” (buy what I’ll use only) and carnivore , also use essential oils and chemical free products. Amazing I can relate to a channel I intend to learn from. Thank you
We have been trying to not do the single use stuff for a while, we do keep paper towels for if I get behind on laundry but are so rarely used. I use tin foil for baking sometimes or for the grill, not sure if there is an alternative for that or not. I love beeswax wraps in place of plastic wrap. Unnecessary spending is something I'm working on to be more minimal, I'm still trying to go through and cut back on things. I'm better at it than I was at least. I really enjoy these videos because they give me more ideas
We have a reusable grill mat that Brandon uses- although we will on occasion we'll get a roll of tin foil if Brandon needs it. That usually happens once a year. 😅 I think it is amazing to see how wasteful we may be-- I know I have whittled our budget down so low, it's amazing how much we used to just waste every month!
@HeavenlyMindedHome I'm going to need a link to that! We have had the same roll for a long time so we rarely buy it, I also use it to make little foil containers so he can cook cubed potatoes on the grill, I'm sure there are containers that can go right on the grill too. I also find that when I don't have these things I use less. I would go through so many paper towels because it was so easy to rip off more than I needed, I'm sure it's even more true with kids.
This one he got from Walmart- it was just on some end cap and him and my brother grabbed it a while back. 😅 Still going strong! And he grills every day!
Yup, I stopped buying a lot of just random stuff for about two years now. It's sooo much nicer not having clutter! Your skin always looks beautifull, could you tell me what make up you use???
Just stumbled over your channel.. Don't really know anything yet about you or your channel yet. Did I just catch a mezuza on your doorpost? ❤ Loved the video...
I've been studying nutrition and health for over 40 years. And I am a born-again lover of Jesus and I serve Him full-time. I have studied many "diets" and have sought the Lord's mind and the Word's enlightenment. If you're interested I could share my feelings about what God's view is of this matter. Number one, believers have many views, opinions, and practices concerning eating. Our focus must remain on the Lord Himself and be very careful not to judge one another for our practices, even if "wrong" in our opinion. .
I love your way of not using disposables. That's what I've been working on FOREVER! And I still have a ways to go. I have a question for you. What did you mean by you have a carnivore diet? Do you really eat only animal products to the exclusion of all plant foods? I haven't heard of that kind of diet before.
Hi ,ive just found your channel , love it when i find like minded people,i am trying to declutter,i prefer things i make myself, like lights or shells in a mason jar,i prefer things made with love ,not what influencers tell me to buy !
5:05 this is all good but that’s if you have the time to wash dishes and again having your own home. Which I do not have. I’m on a time restriction due to who we live with because it’s “their” house! Do you have suggestions for that?
Be careful with robot vacuums that send information to companies about your house. Being minimalist is awesome for me that struggle with organising things hehe. A wonderful gadget for the kitchen is a bimby, if functions as lots of gadgets in one.
Great video. Getting back to ziplock bags, do you freeze in glass jars? Also I was impressed you don’t celebrate secular holidays. Do you celebrate biblical holy days? Just curious because my family does and it’s been a blessing to us. Thank u.
We have some silicone bags if we freeze, or wrap in butcher paper! And yes- we celebrate the Biblical Holy Days! We absolutely love getting to focus our "special" celebrations the the Lord & His SOON return! 🙌🏼 You can see more here: th-cam.com/play/PLXtO3I3A_NfV1eC7khN9IZpy7l-h8Dl3R.html
@@HeavenlyMindedHome that’s so awesome. It does my heart good to hear of like minded believers!! I just found your channel this morning. I’ll be going through and watching other videos.
I just found you yesterday. And this was so good what a great reminder of who we are in Christ and that we don't need all the things! We homeschool and try to raise the kid with Christ in mind. My husband's in the military so it's easier to sort of for us to keep things more minimal just because every couple of years when we move I get rid of a bunch of things moving with a bunch of things isn't fun so yes. However I'd like to get better in this manner so thank you
Aww, ALL glory to God! I'm so glad we got to connect! 🥰 We moved at least once a year for 12 + years (even not being military) ... and oh goodness. 🙈 Definitely helped with keeping it light. Haha! We definitely understand that. XO
I am pleased your channel popped up in my feed! It's nice to see so many others with this mindset as over the years I have kept what I actually need be it cooking, repairing, gardening etc. I have also found myself lately not using so many products for cleaning at home. One I have found and read about is soapnuts. You can do your laundry with them, make a surface cleaner and when they have exhausted their ability to clean, they can then be put on garden beds or potted plants and a fertilizer or soil amendment. Thank you so much for sharing this concept with us and keep it going. As I discovered while I was cleaning out my mother's house after she died, if it doesn't help me serve the Lord I don't need it.
I gotta have my paper towels. And when time is tight, convenience trumps time spent on household chores when the time saved can be spent elsewhere to help make life smoother. Easy off is the bomb for my oven and bottom of pans, But I love, love, love my homemade laundry soap.
I've always been about simplicity. I've never been someone that has to have all the new gadgets that are out, or the lastest decor. And what a lot of people don't understand is the essential oils are toxic to animals and some people. Now as far as paper towels and paper plates, I'm not giving them up. The baggies that I have, I wash out and reuse until they can't be used anymore. I think whatever works best for each individual or their families, it's what people should do. There's something that I heard many many years ago by Suze Orman. She said ask yourself the question before you buy something.... do I "need" it, or do I "want" it. I literally do that to this day and it works.
I work on an ER and peroxide is our friend when our shoes or scrubs get blood and other body fluid on, we just scrub them off with peroxide- I wear black scrubs and I have never had an issue using peroxide on my scrubs at work. Peroxide breaks down proteins like blood, grass, body fluids. I eliminated kitchen gadgets and multiples of cooking utensils and pots and pans, and I have freed up so much space I can now use the spaces for pantry items. Seasonal decor- I have a few items for each season but it’s more about the scents and pulling out the cozier blankets and changing up our meals to heavier and hottie and more comfort foods; plus, I really dislike dusting tchotchkes and lots of decor on flat surfaces in my entire house, I change out my kitchen towels for more seasonal ones because it gives me joy but the plain ones still are in circulation, natural items like a small branch from a tree, pumpkins and squashes on the counter to eat along with apples, Perrenials mums show their colors each fall, tulips popping up for spring, evergreen wreaths during winter. Being a responsible homemaker means being good stewards of your money but also of what you already have accumulated and making sure you don’t put things above God.
I totally agree with you, I enjoy and I'm learning with your videos, I do not decorate on the holidays just Gods presence in my home God bless your family
I was afraid you might say paper towels. ☹😕 But I get it. The robotic floor cleaner is a wonderfully practical idea though. I always thought it was indulgent, but now that I'm getting a little older, it would free me up to do more important things that don't involve hauling around a heavy vacuum cleaner.
First video of yours I've watched, and I LOVE this type of content. We're expecting our 5th child in a few weeks (our oldest is 9). We also homeschool, and it's hard sometimes to keep the amount of "stuff" manageable, especially when I take into account schoolbooks. Lately I've been trying to use more natural cleaning products, so I really appreciate what you said on that! ❤
Oh, ALSO! I'm awful at decorating, but I do try to make whatever "pretty knick-knacks" last most, if not, all year. I have a couple variously-sized vases, and just switch out flowers or "fillers" seasonally.
We do the carnivore diet as a family too. I'm curious how you use your air fryer, though. My air fryer hasn't been used since we started eating carnivore around Christmas. Maybe you could talk about it in an upcoming video?
Oh my goodness!!! We got an air fryer BECAUSE of starting carnivore!! Haha! We cook everything in it-- bacon daily, hamburger patties... london broil... chicken...you can peek through this playlist below.. but I do need to do more! :) th-cam.com/play/PLXtO3I3A_NfWGrK_Kpbd2hdIb6DS1yG5Q.html
I just found your channel a couple of days ago and have watched a few of your videos. I really like what you have to say and it feels so refreshing to me. Thank you!
She mentioned using Mrs Meyers occasionally. Can someone tell me why that has become so popular suddenly? I see it used on many of the “decorate with me” vids. And why is it better than any of the dozens of products out there? It’s very expensive!
Can you make a video talking about y'all's decision to stop celebrating secular holidays? And which holidays that include? Ive had conviction for a while amd really want to hear anothers perspective, thanks!
I understand not using the one time use items. I limit my use of these things, but I do have them. If I didn't have paper plates with a large gathering, I would have to purchase many regular plates and then try to find a place to house them when I'm not using them which would be 99% of the rest of the year. I own paper towels and use them sparingly for cleaning. Again, I use plastic bags to keep from having to purchase so many other storage containers. So while I do have one time use items, its to keep my home less cluttered with items I rarely use otherwise.

I really enjoy your bideos & most have lots of good information. But, its very distracting the way you continue to mess with your hair. 😮
Hahaha I do the switch too
I love the "feeling" I am able to create in my home with my seasonal decor.
Thank you for sharing! I needed this! ❤
This is the first time I have seen your channel, love it, Christian AND minimalist! My thoughts on sales... I can save 100% by not going to the sale.
EXACTLY!!! Oh my goodness-- yes! Don't go. 100% savings! Haha!
So glad the TH-cam powers connected our paths-- what a blessing it is to serve and grow in fellowship with others! XO
Yep! "Look how much I saved!" "Look how much you SPENT."
I just found this channel today, and these were my same thoughts!! A Christian, a minimalist, a homesteader... and celebrates the Biblical feasts!! My heart is so happy to see there are others out there too!!
I have never gone to black Friday and never will. Usually I don't have the money left that time of the year.
Our live Christmas tree stayed up embarrassingly until February sometimes when we lived in our house in Virginia. A friend dropped by unexpectedly one day and commented she loved that it was still up. She had had tragedy and disappointment in her life and the tree brightened her day.
My Dad keeps a christmas tree up in his house all day, every day, since I was a child. No lie. 😅🤦🏻♀️
Great ideas! 🎉
YES! The citrus in vinegar works great, but I make mine with lime...because I love lime.
@ArleneAdkinsZell Me too!!! It was just grapefruit this time bc on sale. Lime is the best.
Thank you for this. You are wonderful
What are the measurements of vinegar and baking soda for laundry detergent?
As a mom of 12, I do occasionally get paper towels or paper plates. I also do use zip lock bags, but wash them multiple times before they aren't any good. Sometimes convenience supercedes sustainability. Especially during the time of a new baby.
Amen! Perfect time to pull out those items! XOXOXO
I reuse my bags and mark the ones used for meat.
I have not gone to Target since they started embracing the LGBT community.
Some people do certainly feel convicted in that- and goodness, that agenda is everywhere! 🤦🏻♀️
You will have to stop doing business with just about any company……
@@janetw7828does every company make lgbtq pride clothes for babies? Do they make tucking and binding clothes for children?
@@samanthakwait8782 most companies support this
Boycotting any business is your right as an American (for now) but shunning an entire group of people is anything but Christian.
None of these products were invented in Jesus time and we need to clean up
God’s Earth.

You are a wise young lady! God bless you!❤
Aww, ALL glory to God!! I wish I was paying attention at 24-- would have saved myself a lot of heartache! Praying for you, sweet friend! So. glad you're here! XO
Same here!! 24, unmarried without kids yet! So thankful for this channel!
I Love stuff
God bless you !
AMEN! Couldn't agree more! 😅
Side note!! Those are safe for water bath canning and if I remember rightly, they might be ok for pressure canning!! I remember doing a few full of water to test and they worked. So test it for yourself, but they will water bath can perfectly!
I also save all my glass jars and lids.
@@mommapanda1285 I use them for water bath canning and for pressure canning. As long as it canning lids fits and it says Atlas then they are definitely a canning jar.
Depression saying, " Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without".
I really enjoy walking through target or Walmart and looking at the holiday decor…but I can enjoy it without owning it.
EXACTLY! Big difference-- it's all the root, the heart of the matter.
That’s so funny I just downsized because I was like I am tired of living of this world and bought myself a tiny cottage and I thought I was the only one that enjoyed walking through it but don’t need to own it
I do the same thing too. I walk through Walmart and Hobby Lobby just to look. I know my money are better served elsewhere in my budget
I do better not to look so I don't get tempted
What about toilet paper?
Your type of minimalist way of living is one that I can get on board with. Still homey, still functional, still smart! You are putting proper values on the right things, and it keeps one centered on the truly valuable things in life. God bless you and yours.

Also find that I really don't miss it.
I feel so validated by this video. I used to feel so depressed when we couldn't afford to buy paper goods and fancy cleaners. It's so funny how it's popular and minimal to do the things I used to do because I didn't have a choice. I really love how you challenge us to examine our hearts ❤.
ALL glory to God, glad we could connect and be an encouragement to one another! XO
They still have that style around!
My mom always had those they were great
Fuller Brush still has them, and they are the very BEST.
Amen! So glad we get to connect on here! Glad to have you aboard, friend! XO
100% True 😊😊😊
Love your heart. I also love seasonal decor. I feel deep joy when I change out the season in my home. I love Christmas. Mainly white lights. I hang lights everywhere. But honestly I have had my decor for many years. Plus I do knock offs from thrift stores. I do zero seasonal shopping at Target, etc. Thanks for your great tips!
Really love the last point. It is definitely the one I struggle with. I’m over here asking God to help me to be content and when he does I complain. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️. Eventually I will get there.
One step at a time! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️
I buy paper kitchen towels but also use them as napkins too and to line our trays for eating on our laps. When those towels have stains then i use them for wiping things out before washing like frying pans ,plates etc. I get a good use out of them
That's awesome! Great way to do it!
And I thought I was the only one that does what you do with those paper towels. I use them till you can't use them any more!!!
Same here. Unless it's completely nasty from eating something like BBQ they get reused, it's usually to wipe the grease out of my cast iron, or drips on the counter from the coffee pot.
I agree with your mindset. Working on the Christmas thing😐
Since the beginning of this year I started simplifying my household, selling what I don't use anymore.
Also started carnivore.
This video is a confirmation 🙏🏻✝️
I take mine Goodwill etc. I want to make sure people that really need them foe their kids or home.
You should try Thieves cleaner, it’s a great natural cleaner that uses pure essential oils
Praying for conviction is excellent counsel!
I heard this the morning I decided to de clutter. Can you imagine how much it helped. Thank you! God bless you!
I love holiday decor but I’ve definitely scaled back over the years. I also declutter at the beginning of every season
Great video! Bought back memories of how my matriarchs lived. I still follow their advice.
Haha! XO
I am a recovering decor addict lol. The irony in pulling/shoveling out all of our Christmas decor! What a needed wake up call, thank you. :)
Yup- this is simply my list in this season. :)
Enjoyed this video. Christianity lead me to minimalism, too. I think it’s a natural consequence of not idolizing the things of this world…. and it is SO freeing.
Amen, 1,000%!
Godliness with contentment profits alot!....😊
I like you decor; It gives off homey vibes!😊
Amen and amen! Aww, thank you! I just love some thrift store goodies! Haha! And I love to think about the home before ours that they adorned and were treasures in! 🥰
It’s a bit dreary n dark in there ………. I love open curtains n light that’s just me
Everyone likes different things not being judgmental
Enjoyed your video. I try to buy less too by using cloth napkins and cloth hand towels instead of paper. It has saved me a lot of through the years.
It's amazing how fast those savings can add up! 😃
I don’t think I could get through seasonal depression without Christmas decor/music/gatherings 😅 other than that I’m on board with the rest of it!
😅 Haha! Well, we don't celebrate Christmas-- but that doesn't mean we don't enjoy the beauty of each season-- and soft lights a'glow in the winter is definitely one! 😍😘 Just doesn't mean I have to have boxes and boxes of clutter to accomplish it- haha! XO
You can keep the same quality minimal decor year in year out and store it

7) Snacks that are unhealthy
I have recently changed all my towels to Turkish cotton towels. They’re easier to care for, quick absorbing, dries fast. I even noticed my skin is not dry and flakey since I been using Turkish towels. I basically went back to the old way of doing things.

ALL glory to God!
That's wonderful!!!

Amen- sounds wonderful!
Sammme with napkins and paper plates and stuff.
But we do use plastic wrap and baggies but I think I’ll start investing in silicone and more glass.
However, you can interchange these decorations with decals depending on what they are.
Remember when They had us switch from paper bags to plastic ones to "save the trees?"
🙄🙄🙄 Craziness!
XO
I love the clean smell too lol
The only thing I hated was the vinyl table cloth. I'm sorry 😢 but I love everything else and I love the idea of not buying unnecessary items. And trying to be like everyone else..spending money out of coveting, wasting on napkins/paper towels, etc. Kudos to you for being YOURSELF!! 😊❤❤❤
You came up on my You Tube feed today...very interesting, lots to think about. Thank you!!!
I’m happy I found this channel, I’m also a “minimalist” (buy what I’ll use only) and carnivore , also use essential oils and chemical free products. Amazing I can relate to a channel I intend to learn from. Thank you
Ahh! How neat is that?! Isn't God just SO cool? I Love seeing the people he brings before us-- it's just the best! So glad we get to connect! XOXO
A small steamer filled with your choice of cleaner to clean grout on tile, bathtubs, baseboards etc would be great to have.
I love the intro music! ✨💖
I’m with you the paper, plastic, reusable things and keeping things simple 👏💪
Just stumbled over your channel.. Don't really know anything yet about you or your channel yet. Did I just catch a mezuza on your doorpost? ❤
Loved the video...
Sure did! This is why: th-cam.com/video/hxSL6xEORcM/w-d-xo.html
Our focus must remain on the Lord Himself and be very careful not to judge one another for our practices, even if "wrong" in our opinion.
.
MRS. MEYERS? Probably wanna revisit that brand
Thank You-finally someone who lives the word
I love your way of not using disposables. That's what I've been working on FOREVER! And I still have a ways to go. I have a question for you. What did you mean by you have a carnivore diet? Do you really eat only animal products to the exclusion of all plant foods? I haven't heard of that kind of diet before.
Yup! Only meat & animal products and the results have be AMAZING! You can learn more here: th-cam.com/play/PLXtO3I3A_NfWGrK_Kpbd2hdIb6DS1yG5Q.html
Hi ,ive just found your channel , love it when i find like minded people,i am trying to declutter,i prefer things i make myself, like lights or shells in a mason jar,i prefer things made with love ,not what influencers tell me to buy !
Amen, welcome! ❤️
I want nothing to do with anything robot.Crazy world we are living in. I need to look into Bimby. Never heard of that.
I try to use minimal tech products to keep everything as natural as possible. Sweeping floors is good exercise. No TV either.
I’ve been doing that exact same thing, but I can get better! Great video!! 🙌🏼❤️🔥🙌🏼
I stopped using disposable period pads a couple years ago and I use fabric ones that are washable and I love it! Never looked back!
XO
Great discussion, thank you Heidi !
I. Love Your Homemaking style!!! Because you put Jesus first!!! ✝️🙏😔💯❤️
Thank you so much!! There’s nothing more important! 🙌🏼❤️
Yes! Loooooove peroxide!
@@HeavenlyMindedHome thank you for the carnivore playlist. This is going to be interesting. I do keto, and a touch of carnivore. I am Prediabetic.❤️🙏
I'm more in the "ketovore" area while my husband stays more pure carnivore... either way- so thankful for the results!
@@HeavenlyMindedHome ❤️🙏
Were carnivore, also(10 months in :)
I love and agree with everything you said. I'm subscribing!!!🌹🌸🏵
I just found your channel a couple of days ago and have watched a few of your videos. I really like what you have to say and it feels so refreshing to me. Thank you!
Ah! All glory to God! What a blessing to be used for Him! So glad you’re here friend, anything we can do- just share! Xo
Hello, I’m a new subscriber.❤
You really spoke to my heart! Thank you for sharing and wording these issues so tastefully.
You are so welcome- I’m so glad we get to connect! 🥰🙏🏼 Definitely come and join the study- it’s been a wonderful time! ☺️❤️
She mentioned using Mrs Meyers occasionally. Can someone tell me why that has become so popular suddenly? I see it used on many of the “decorate with me” vids. And why is it better than any of the dozens of products out there? It’s very expensive!
I like paper plates. I don’t have to spend money on water snd soap to wash them. For a big family, that may not pay off.
Yup! My kids would send me to the poor house! 😜😂😂😂
Can you make a video talking about y'all's decision to stop celebrating secular holidays? And which holidays that include? Ive had conviction for a while amd really want to hear anothers perspective, thanks!
Here's a playlist of what we have so far: th-cam.com/play/PLXtO3I3A_NfV1eC7khN9IZpy7l-h8Dl3R.html
@@HeavenlyMindedHome thank you so much! 😊❤️
