This entire film is a masterpiece. In my opinion, the best comedy ever made. But what stood out to me was when Max Bialystok said, "Bloom, world's are turned on such thoughts."
“Let’s assume for the moment that you’re a dishonest man.” “Assume away.” I’m so thankful Anne Bancroft was in a play with Gene and suggested to Mel to “talk to him”!!
👏 ☆☆ Brooks' ☆☆ fantastic first film that remains in an utterly unique genuinely inspired class all its rightfully acclaimed own - including ♤ Best Original Screenplay Oscar ♤ - 😂 [ Forget the overblown underwhelming hideously over-praised stage musical - it's iron-pyrite ] ! THIS ! is pure 🔥 GOLD 🔥 👏 pure 👏
@@davidhamilton-dick7337 pretty strange how the bigger the movie is and the more it makes the more "losses" it ends up eating! The Lord of the Rings trilogy made 3 billion dollars but is marked as a net loss. Oh well, I'm sure they'll figure out how to make money from these things one day, right ;)
I always assumed this was how the direct-to-video market worked. I'm sure there are some direct-to-video hits, but there is also the career of Uwe Boll
You know, I think this is what Disney is doing with all these tremendous flops. They virtue signal by making a totally dumb woke and diverse versions of classic films everyone has always loved since they were 3, and you make a brown Snow White and a bunch of diverse and normal sized 7 dwarfs, and you eliminate the Prince altogether who awakens Snow White, and VOILA!!! Instant flop! And they get to virtue signal at the same time! "Bigly"!! Wowee. Now Disney gets all its SJW points, and they have a huge write-off....
Never watched the musical remake & never will. I’ve watched this film countless times & this film is sheer genius ( makes me laugh all the time). Why sully it with a poor imitation. (Simple analogy) if you bought a diamond necklace, would you be bothered about looking at paste necklace? No, because you already have the best.
The film was not a major success as it should have been… maybe it was because of the unknown actors, maybe it was the crazy story line…. Or maybe it cut too close to the bone and all the Hollywood elite were fuming that the secret was out…. Like a magician who’s magic trick is revealed..😂😂

@Dead Crusader you are so right a masterpiece , you are soooooo right have loved this particular movie most of my life , Mel Brooks a total genius.
Zero Mostel looks so greasy when he delivers that line 😂

And so begins the outrageous comedy known throughout the ages as The Producers
Pretty soon it'll be known as The Trump Administration.
Hilarious, loved it, thanks!

When you think about all of the flops that Hollywood produces who's to say they aren't pulling this kind of scheme all the time?
That’s exactly what they’re doing
Coincidentally, I am an accountant that has been drafted into a film producing studio. Nearly all they are doing reminds me of the Producers!

One set of books for the backers, one for the government and one for us. Reminds me of someone else.
And now they do that with movies.
Every January and February.
this is what BANKS do on Wall street. flops for money.
Too bad they didn't keep the line in in the musical when Leo said he fell on his keys.
this movie was so funny. bailastock and bloom when they get their gorgeous secretary
Ooh!! I fell on my keys.
2:45 that’s me when I at work getting a raise
I can see Jerry Lewis as the Leo Bloom character.....actually, I can see this as a Dean and Jerry movie. It would have worked.

Prophetic
When Disney creating another flop with a high budget that doesn't shows the quality in their content.
Boy Ferris Bueller really fouled this one up

The movie version translated poorly. What’s the producers without a little LSD?
The musical is just as good.
@@mikedjock The reason they cut him in the musical version was LSD was of the 60's. They set the stage version in the 50's, so he wouldn't exist then.
@@sha11235 ah that makes sense. I loved the musical when I saw it on stage the movie version not so much. It just translated weird

Produce a flop called "Greece" starring John Travolta as Papandreou and Olivia Newton John as Angela Merkel and get stinking rich.

Wait a minute
Modern Disney

It failed because it was mostly played in art houses and not regular theaters.
and so goes Washington dc
This is what marvel is doing now
