Notice in the cinematography how perfectly they get the angles, not just of scene, but also in Springtime for Hitler. This is a hilarious scene and it isn't even the best scene in this movie.
baantalingngam I still haven't seen the movies, but comparing both versions of the scene, the 2005 version is funnier for me, although this one is very subtle with it's humor. Maybe the exaggerations of the 2005 version are what does it for me.
@@tristanbray2184 It takes some one with a beautiful, classically trained tenor voice to make fun of tenors. He was very talented and brought joy to many people with his performance as Otto Picard.
@@tristanbray2184 Thanks for clarifying that, because I went to a website which listed Arthur Rubin's roles and it referred to his character as "Arthur Packard", which I found confusing. When Carmen Ghia said his name, it sounded to me like "Otto", but when Roger said his name, it sounded more like "Arthur".

Great joke. A guy who sings "Haben Sie gehört das Deutsche Band" ends his song with the words "Mr.Bang, Mr.Boom, Mr...Bing". Rudolf Bing was then the general manager of the Metropolitan Opera House in New York.
Didn’t know that..But I think he is saying ‘Mit ze bang, mit ze boom, (THANK YOU!) mit ze..bing.’ You know, heavy German accent. Doesn’t mean Mr. Bing might not have been meant, tho.
We have a watch this over and over and it never gets old. The entire movie is just brilliant and a great escape from the problems of the world and every day politics. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Of all the favorite parts I got the biggest kick out of the toy that was bought for the office. The secretary, who did not speak English, but she danced beautifully.
This was Where's Adolph, the prequel to Wheres Waldo, which in Germany was known as Wheres Waldorf. It was a political commentary on the social construction of the "jewish man", which one half of Hitlers compartmentalized personalities believed they were. Before the Waldo series of books, the term "jewish" was synonymous with "Banker" or ""parasite". He considered judaism to be the elite 7th root race, to which all bankers strived to assume identities as. these wannabe elites spread the word, but were thusly betrayed when one day a banker made a snide remark to Hitler, so he denounced the jews and sent them to the public pools. They got bored and requested that Hitler and the Pope kick the arabs out of Palestine, and thats how we have the country of Argentina.
Oh? Yaw sorry....... I thought I would be on Broadway in a month and be the toast of the town but as a result of being dismissed at this open call, I'll go back to selling shoes at my brother's outlet in the bowels of Westchester.
Could you imagine being an actor looking for work and you see this ad in Variety and you are Jewish or gay? I don't think some would bother to show up.
Why don’t you take your victim card and go somewhere else before making such a uniformed ignorant comment. Tell me you know nothing about broadway or showbiz is general without telling me.
Whenever I see a self-satisfied performer overselling their act I break into “Have You Ever Heard the German Band? “Mit a bang, mit a boom…”
You will play it!
Love how the Cowboy Hitler flips the bird to them when he's dismissed.
Will the dancing Hitlers please wait in the wings! We are only seeing singing Hitlers!
At 3.10 Hitler singing "Beautiful dreamer" makes me howl. Its been said a Million times before, But Brooks is a Genius.
0:41 - Franz looks so incredibly moved seeing all those Hitlers.
"You vill play it!" Solid comedy gold.
Notice in the cinematography how perfectly they get the angles, not just of scene, but also in Springtime for Hitler.
This is a hilarious scene and it isn't even the best scene in this movie.
The dancing Hitler in the speedo 🤣
My career never recovered after zis audition.
Butchering ‘Alexander’s Ragtime Band’ could have been a factor, too.
Franz is beside himself watching all those Hitlers, notice?
The ones he rejects should've still got cast in the show as other things.
Representations of Hitlers gay thoughts?
"This is bedlam...BEDLAM! We must have some order!"
It's even hard to imagine such comedy
concerning the other butchered clip, you fixed that, THANKYOU. I chewed out that fool who cut Brooks in half.
This clip is from the original, superior 1968 version of The Producers starring Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder.

The guy who sang "Beautiful Dreamer" sells shoes and he took a day off to audition.
How do you know? And he sounds familiar too.
@@sha11235 He was one of the gravediggers in "Young Frankenstein."
If they had have gone with the bald tenor or “Beautiful Dreamer” they would have pulled it off.
My personal favorite-Otto Picard, the lead tenor of the Albuquerque Opera Company. Turn Springtime For Hitler into an operetta, starring Otto.

2:04 Best part of the movie. Hard to find this clip.
Personally, my favourite is at 2:55. 🙈🤭
Mein too

The "cowboy" looks like Clark Gable.
More like the "cowboy" in The Village People.
My favorite movie ever.
The jump suit is perfectly hilarious
That wasnt Hitler!!!! That was the Kaiser. 😁
They got some strange people, this guy seems to just generally like ( his idea) of Germany.
This is a master piece comedy
I love it---"No experience"
Jason Green gets my vote. “Haben sie gehort das Deutsches Band?”
"THE LITTLE WOODEN BOY".....=))

True BUT given the opportunity to get the lead role on a Broadway show with NO experience needed would be too difficult to resist
