  • My name is Tammy. I struggle with too many mental issues, lol, but don't we all? On this channel I document most of my struggles. TH-cam helps me to be able to vent and talk about what's going on and how I feel. I consider my channel to be a mental health recovery channel. I'm also trying to lose weight in the process. Come along and let's strive to be the best versions of ourselves!
I'm not promoting any kind of (eating) disorder, I'm just documenting my life and my struggles.
I'm very hapy to have you Little Lemons accompany me. Thank you SO much for watching my video!

It's normal for any kind of content creator to feel like their content is boring, it's because you not only lived through your days (thus experiencing the footage the slowest way), but you then see it multiple times while editing. You need to remember that for us, we experience it only once, and quicker, so we won't experience it the way you do. Not boring at all!

Hi Tammy, in relation to vit D, it not only important to be outside for 20 minutes a day, it's also important how strong the sunlight is, you won't get much vit D if it's overcast or cloudy, please take your supplements. Low levels of vit D are also associated with depression, so it's probably affecting you that way too.
P.S. You're never boring, I always enjoy your videos x

I had a vitamin d level of 9 and the drs found out I can’t absorb vitamin d on my own. I now have vitamin d injections at my drs every 7 weeks and I have been doing this for 5 years. I was obese but I’ve lost 4 stone and I’m now an average week. Good luck, when your vitamin d levels are better you may find it easier to lose weight. Good luck

Oh my god, when you said "19" for vitamin D levels my jaw dropped. You should look into the effects of extremely low vitamin D on mental health! If it gets any lower than that you can start experiencing things like psychosis!

@Mina Your doctor can prescribe high dose vitamin d to boost it quickly, its one pill a week for 6 weeks I believe. You should also ask your doctor about iron infusion, iron through an iv it works better than iron pills. Watch the vitamin d though because you can overdose on it. Hope you can feel better, I have trouble with all my vitamins and minerals so it's tough and really messes with how your body functions.

I wonder if you would benefit from a day planner or daily routine. i know for me sticking to a routine and planning out activities helps me. i have set errand days, set appointment days and such so i dont get overwhelmed. Also with daily life i do better staying with a routine i start my day with exercise . its helps me with my mental health and to settle anxiety issues as well. plus working on weight loss. i have meals planned out both meal plan and time schedule. bed routine turning off all social media for at least an hour before bed so i can rest. maybe take a look at what you do have power over and how to use it as a stepping stone.

Tammy have you tried intermittent fasting or an addiction treatment program or group, sugar has the ability to be as addictive as cocaine according to studies, so it's not an easy battle. Also have you watched Dr. Robert Lustig here on TH-cam, extremely insightful about new findings on sugar and how it affects us and much more than I could summarize here but it's pretty revolutionary in contrast to the way sugar has been looked at across industries until recently.

You ate an extra week's calories in one binge so why would you loose weight? I remember you saying weighloss is a by product of your recovery and you're having a relaps right now so I don't think you should focus on this. I like your craft videos you are very creative and talented and crafting is relaxing like mindfulness...I would be here for a craft video. You could do one crafting video a week and one vlog of the highlights of your week...this might take the pressure off and I think concentrate more on your talents and positives might help while you're struggling. ✌️

The vitamin D is also related to mood. Getting your vitamin D up to a normal level would really help you feel better mentally. Have you tried D-drops or just the tablets? Do you take vitamin D with your meals? Vitamin D needs dietary fat to be absorbed since it is a fat-soluble vitamin.

The issue with vitamin D is that in countries like Netherlands you don't get enough sun for most of the year to fill up your vitamin D storage. Even spending half a hour in the sun every day in the summer might not be enough, because we tend to use sun screen then, especially fair skinned people like you.

There are always going to be low points, stresses, changes and obstacles in life and I think we need to learn to persevere through them to maintain any kind of consistency and structure. I think those difficult moments are the most important times to find some inner strength to ignore the noise around you and continue to put your mental and physical health as your number 1 priority. Please don't give up or plan for failure Tammy, even if it's temporary. Without consistency it's very hard to break patterns and make significant changes to our stubborn habits. The thing about addiction, it waits for when times are more difficult and you are distracted to creep in and make room for itself again. We've all seen how well you can do when you put your mind to it. I think if anything, getting back into a routine with healthier, balanced eating and walking will be good for your mind and help you past this mental dip more quickly than by putting those things to the side.

i totally get the irritation of having someone around when it's usually your personal time, even if it's someone you like. it's especially irritating when you want to eat. if i'm going to over-eat or binge i *have* to be alone. if there's someone staying here, i'll sneak my own food in my own house just because i don't want anyone knowing that i'm eating. i don't want to be interrupted, either. privacy and secrecy are huge aspects of the binge for me.

My vitamin D was a 3 - you have got to take your health / weight seriously. Surgery. Commitment to diet and exercise. My potassium was also low. Low D also causes inflammation in the body and wreaks havoc with your reproductive health putting you at higher risk for breast and ovarian C.
    I was 426 and I’m 148 now.
Keto and swimming with HIIT saved my life.

    • @ChantalsCitizenshipMarriage
      @ChantalsCitizenshipMarriage ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@Mr.Chedda_ when your vitamin D gets below 20 it’s always a prescription vitamin D. Severe deficiencies cannot be fixed with supplements.
People like me - I was put on 50,000 IU vitamin twice per week for 12 weeks. It failed to bring my level above 8. I was put on that again for a full year. It was still only in the 15 to 16 range. Once it was in the 20’s they put me on 50,000 IU once per week till it was in the 30’s and till I’d lost a ton of weight.
It was a HUGE pill for me to swallow that (among other health issues) - this was yet again something caused directly by my weight.
When I got below 200 - I actually had to stop taking extra over the counter vitamin D because my levels got into the 80’s. Doc said now that the body had such little inflammation it’s able to process and utilize it.
They do have 50,000 IU vitamin D on Amazon but you have to be careful. When taking it you do want your labs checked regularly. Also the over the counter is a different kind. The prescription is a gelcap -

So her therapy is failing her maybe, because she keeps doing the same things as before, repeating the cycles. It's not about being negative/toxic towards her but this seems to be going for a long time already with very little improvement, she requires a professional dietitian to guide her on eating healthy whole foods, and encouragement to start an active lifestyle. Tammy, I agree with the doctor's concern about your extremely low Vitamin D level. Vitamin D deficiency is quite common and does NOT get enough attention. Many studies have shown that those with Vitamin D deficiency are more likely to die from COVID-19. It's clear to me that your current Vitamin D3 supplementation regimen is not enough. Keep in mind that being heavy means that you likely need more Vitamin D3 supplementation than lighter people do. Not everyone's bodies has the same response to the same amount of Vitamin D supplementation.
Fortunately, Vitamin D deficiency is MUCH easier to correct than unhealthy blood cholesterol levels, unhealthy blood sugar levels, and obesity.
Tammy, I'm not a doctor, but I have some suggestions:
    1. Ask your doctor about my suggestions. I'm sure that he/she would back me up on all or most of them.
    2. Take Vitamin D3 supplements. That's D3. Do NOT take Vitamin D2 supplements. D3 is far superior.
    3. Use oil-filled Vitamin D3 supplements. Vitamin D3 is fat soluble. Without fat, the Vitamin D3 will NOT be dissolved. If you're taking capsules, then pour the contents into food containing fat, such as peanut butter or yogurt. If you're taking tablets, break them apart and mix the pieces into food containing fat.
    4. Aim for 150 to 200 nmol/L, the upper part of the normal range. 75 nmol/L is just the bare minimum to keep out of the high risk category.
    5. Take up to 20,000 IUs per day for a few weeks to ramp up your Vitamin D level and then cut back to a maintenance dose.
    6. For every 25 nmol/L that you need to increase your Vitamin D level, your maintenance dosage should be increased by 1000 IUs per day. Given that you're currently at only 19 nmol/L, your current dosage is MUCH too low. If you're currently taking 1000 IUs per day, you should increase that maintenance dosage to more like 6000 IUs per day. Please note that there's a chance you need more like 10,000 IUs per day.
    7. You may need multiple cycles of adjusting your dosage and retesting.
    8. If you lose lots of weight, you may need to reduce your Vitamin D3 supplementation. (You'll still need some - just not as much.)

Your video edits are funny and make me laugh usually and I get most of what you are saying, especially the exhaustion after social interaction. You are legitimately honest about your life which is awesome. Also, I could listen to you talk (your accent) forever! and the cats are adorable and I think anyone who is as kind and gentle as you are with the kitties, is a good soul!

Hi Tammy! Just a reminder to take care of your Vitamin D! When I am low in D, I feel sluggish and down. When you improve your numbers, you will feel much better and energetic! And it benefits the health of our skin, hair, bones, our whole body and longterm health (preventing cancer and more)! But please don’t overdo it. Once you are done with your doctor’s prescription to catch up with your numbers, go back to a normal dose (or less with sun exposure). It is possible to take too much Vitamin D. Hope you are feeling better! The things you create are sunshine for many! 🙂☀️

But coming back now, I’m sad to see, that apparently you’re not different at all. You’re using excuses, your waiting for help, but sorry to break it down to you, YOU HAVE TO DO IT! No one else is going to do it for you.
About your vitamin costs…cut down on foods. By what you’re showing, the costs for the vitamins are fraction of what you would love to spend on food!

I am happy to see your videos every time, most of us are. Your happiness is our priority and not our "entertainment" I hope we all agree on that. Take a break if you feel tired we will be here waiting for you to come back with your sweet smile, your anxiety, your failures and your successes. About vitamin D some things: I take vitamin supplements about 3 years now, I live in Greece but I don't go out of the house often so my vitamin D was low. You can't take enough D from sun, only if you sunbathe for long hours and you don't wash after. If you take vitamin D in order to up your levels you have to take big quantities, I take 4000 IU every day and its not expensive. As an example my medication is Lamberts Vit D 4000 IU 120 capsules whitch costs around 30 euros and lasts 4 months! But be very careful! Vitamin D uses a lot of your Magnesium so you have to take magnesium as well, ask your doctor about that. Magnesium helped me a lot with sleep and tinittus but with muscle pains. Vitamin D and B12 helped me A LOT with depression, B12 helped me a lot with my energy levels also. Ask your doctor to prescribe those vitamins or do the test for those vitamins, although B 12 and magnesium are water soluble and you can't overmedicate on them. Sorry for the lengthy message, I send you a big hug with my short arms and wish you great health in every way.

Youre lucky your blood testsare good. Im 190 lbs and my cholesterol and blood pressure, inflammation are all high. My vitamin D was 20 and i was going outside, walking. I took 4000IU per day when I was pregnant and was still only 37 a few months later. People with obesity tend to need more. You need direct sunlight onto your skin to synthesize it, cloudy overcast days dont really work, and sunshine through any kind of glass like a window doesnt work

Hi Tammy. Your channel is not boring. Rather, it's very interesting and I find your struggles with food and binging and weight to be very relatable.
Don't give up! We all have days and weeks and months that aren't the greatest. But we learn and grow from the challenges and come out stronger than before.
Just take it one day at a time, and do your best. You're on track and will be fine. Onwards and Upwards! 😊
P.S. Your cats are so cute and they always make me laugh when they're doing funny things behind you. However, you might want to find a way to secure the lovely lemon vase as they could easily knock it to the floor and break it. Just a thought. 😊

About the Vitamin D. Vitamin D needs Magnesium and Vitamin K2 otherwise the body can't use the Vitamin D properly...it can't get into your cells. Also I am not sure how much Vitamin D you are supplementing ....you need a lot considering your weight. For example...I weigh 80kg and need to take 10000ie Vitamin D daily to have a Vitamin D level of 87. Another thing about getting enough Vitamin D naturally...those 10 to 15 min are not working even on a non cloudy day and bud naked without any protection! You have to spend a lot more time in the bright sunlight.

    • @Gotholia
      @Gotholia ปีที่แล้ว +1

Wow, I just wrote the same things! I live in Greece and can't get enough sunlight because I don't go out often, everything you said about Magnesium is absolutely right, I found out the hard way. I take 4000 IU mostly every day and I am 95 kilos and one magnesium shot every night!

You might need to take vitamin k2 with your vitamin D supplement as well for absorption. Some supplements have them combined already. You could increase the dose of your current supplement instead of buying the expensive version if you're tight on money. Check with your doc to see what mcg/IU you need daily. I know my insurance doesn't like to cover some things I could just buy over the counter (Example: My doctor once wanted me to take a higher dose of fish oil to help raise my HDL. My insurance refused to pay since I could just buy the supplement and take more )
Having a roommate might help over time with the binging issue but the root cause would still need to addressed. Your apartment seems small to have a room mate. Would drive me crazy 😅.
Hopefully you can go to that over eaters anonymous group session
