In the RE 1, we can see the original live actress in cutscenes, and a model created in her likeness. So this is canon. Even in the following parts, she is more or less similar to herself from the first game. But as for me, in RE3 remake they changed her very much, so it is hard to even recognize her. So I think that the original version is better than the current one.
