From the age of six until the day I die, there has and will always be one single brain-cell dedicated to remembering the phrase "a wider range of different scenery" with perfect clarity forever.
I never understood anything of this game because I was so little when playing this. When the mission would tell you to remove something, I would be like "no but I want this building to be here because it looks cool!", thus I would fail the mission.
I don't think I ever came through more than the tutorial in this game, because it was too complicated for me, so thanks for reflecting. I did enjoy LEGO Creator 1998 and LEGO Creator: Knigt's Kingdom though.
Same. I couldn't read nor speak english, so I did whatever I wanted. I didn't progress, but did I enjoy it! Especially when I could build that waterpark with long roads.
Oh my god, the inspector telling me that I still need more variation in the scenery still haunts me to this day. He used to scare the crap out of me, the way he came up unannounced LMAO I wish they'd tell you 30 seconds in advance before he's coming! I had to cover up half my screen with a towel because I got so scared hahahaha
Oh boy, I remember this game from childhood and beyond that. TBH, it was a guilty pleasure of mine even after I grew up (it's enjoyable for adults, too, I believe, despite its limited presentation and replay value). Mr. Bimble-I remember when he first popped up on my screen in the first level with all of the other things I needed to accomplish-and there was a lot of them. I remember thinking, "WHAT?? I can't build and play at my own leisure now?" I felt very overwhelmed by the change in concepts from the tutorial levels to the main game. I did eventually end up beating it, but man, was it a hassle for 8-9 year old me.
This was the LEGO PC game that felt very much like the Roller Coaster Tycoon series, plus it made me want to go to one of the LEGOLAND amusement parks. I am particularly hoping to visit LEGOLAND California one day since this PC game is still very inspiring to this day. Thank you very much for uploading this walkthrough since it brings back wonderful childhood memories!
Whoa. I stumbled upon this and it woke up some incredible nostalgia. To this day, I say “Hoo, boy!” Like the workers do when you pick them up, but I never made the connection why!!! What a trip down memory lane.
Ah I know games are so much more advanced now but I get so much nostalgia from the sound effects and squarish graphics. And I forgot how he literally pronounced everything you hovered your mouse over xD
I watched Chobits a couple of years ago and every time the ED played some place deep in my brain lit up when the bleeps and bloops played at the end of the song. I have now realised it is the Spider Ride sound effect from the Legoland PC game
More diversity in the scenery was like the final boss for 7/8y old me. I think I managed to succeed on 3 missions but then the scenery issue and I was just doing the same 2 or 3 missions again and again. And you had also trailers for the Legoland theme parks in UK and US if I remember correctly. I would watch them also again and again, imagining myself there ahahah ! Great game
I looooved this game! In the early 2000s, my mom signed me and my siblings at the local library to rent books and computer games. I would always rent this game over and over! I'm 26 now and would love to be able to rent this game one last time 🥺
This brings back so many memories!! Man I never knew how to play the game as a kid, both with it being in english and I didn't know english back then but also me being like 7 years old didn't help. Might have to see if I can find a version of this game just to replay it.
this, i would say "Overworld-theme", kicks me right back in my childhood. Somehow i had some struggles with this game as a kid. I always failed missions :D
I realized too that I especially hated the alarm sound because... actually Kingdom Hearts. Because in that game it means bad, so in this game I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. I was dumb.
My local library lets you take out movies and PC games in addition to books. I remember when I was little, I got this game from the libary and I couldn't get it to work on the computer. I was so disappointed.
The old Lego games were _very_ hit and miss with how well they'd run on any given system. I remember neither the '98 or the XP I had would run Lego Racers 2 back in the day; had to actually take it to a friend's house to get the damn thing to work.
Nice work! I remember trying this game, was never a bit fan of it. I might still have it kicking around, but I'm not sure. I vote the next Lego game you do be either Alpha Team (cause I just finished that one) or Island (or Island 2), if you own them.
I got a massive scratch down my disc for this game quite early on, and for some reason never replaced it. It always caused crashes and loading problems... then I lost the disc anyway. Always loved this game and was devasted. Not sure why I still haven't replaced it to play this classic again.
I played this game before I even knew english. I have no idea how I got so far to level 5/ I think I called my father here and there to tell me what the man said. looking back, I think this game helped my to learn english
Hug I remember how I was something like 10 years ago. I saw that electric generator and it seems sooo simple but I never was to build it up… now I’m 32 years sooo… that’s it!🤷♂️
Randomly thought of this game today. I wish they’d remake it for windows 10, I want to play so bad. I haven’t payed since I was like 6 years old. I could never beat it

I would pay full price at the age of 27 years old for a new/remastered game.
Honestly same.
fr man this game was the most awesome thing next to old school MS Paint
I'm 27 too, good to know it wasn't just me that played this a stupidly young age.
I've only just turned 27. Was playing this bad boy at 4 ish! Nostalgic trip

i can relate so much lol, i couldn't finish the game as a kid because that wanker told me i've got not enough variation in my park :D
100% feel yea on that
Hours and days were spent placing one of every type of flower and building and still being told there was not enough variation
Funny how many people can relate to the variation of scenery. Ooh Ive been so frustrated so many times when that dude came up to tell me that.
Tell me about it, would’ve been nice to have a notification about the inspector coming rather than the rating popping up out of nowhere
nostalgia!!!
I had a strange obession to putting the hedges around all paths and buildings in this video game.... Man this was over 15 years ago....
dudddeee same here lol
I remember putting the hedges everywhere because it was the only thing i knew how to do in the game
Same lol
Man I sure played this a lot, I remember all the sounds and graphics.
Awesome!
Ditto, what a great old game
A forgotten memory was triggered the first time I heard Jonathan say 'SCROLL down' with the weirdly strong emphasis on scroll 😂
You know what would be awesome?... this game remade in HD, and also a next-gen Legoland game.
yes
drsdino right word for that is remake.
:)
They added Lego to Forza Horizon 4
