Am i crazy for thinking ChatGPT is underhyped? Especially after its search feature, I literally don’t use google anymore other than to search for an article I want to read or website I dont fully know the name of.
Also I work at a computer repair shop and I will get coworkers saying “how tf did you figure that out so fast?” And in reality all i did was take a picture of the error code, upload it to chatgpt or claude, and ask it to outline a detailed repair procedure. Their next reaction is usually “it can do that??” And my response is “You didn’t know?!!??!”

ChatGPT actually helps me a lot outside of my work as a software engineer, I’m new to Mac OS and iOS and it has helped me learn and fix stuff that I’d spend a long time looking for. It maybe over hyped, but it’s surely a very useful tool.

As a physics student, I’ve been using AI for several years, spending most of my day working with it on advanced physics, mathematics, programming, and writing a book. Far from overhyped, AI has transformed my life and greatly enhanced my studies. With new IA reasoners like OpenAI o1, it’s becoming increasingly intelligent and reliable, making it an indispensable tool for complex reasoning. But I understand that, for those with more general use cases, it may not feel as transformative.

I can’t believe how mainstream ChatGPT is. I’ve heard lots of people on the street say, “Ask ChatGPT” instead of “Ask Google.” It’s not actually AI but it may as well be to the layperson. Kinda wild.

ChatGPT is a powerful tool but not flawless; it excels at many tasks yet struggles with nuance and deep specialization. The hype is fair for its accessibility and versatility, but overhype happens when people expect miracles. Think of it as a brilliant assistant, not a replacement for human expertise.

ChatGPT has been instrumental in teaching me fluid dynamics and math. Anyone who says "ChatGPT is overhyped" or whatever hasn't used it properly. I could teach an entire class on how to use this thing and how well it works. It requires being incredibly specific but I get phenomenal results. Tbh I think the secret is just being autistic and loving to learn which makes me leverage any tool I can to learn as much as I can. "BUT MUH AI HALLUCINATIONS" yeah, that's gotten better over time. It's a learning algo. It gets smarter over time.

i think it bottoms out at tasks that require fine tunning, but its great at learning general to medium tuning where you give the manual sprinkle to finish off.

Mechanical keyboards are a strange phenomenon. They're beautiful and the tactile feedback is pleasing, but for professional work (on a clock and having to type fast) they're not worth it imo. Even my low profile mechanical (K100 air) results in fewer wpm than a standard chiclet. My advice: If you're buying for work, get either a Logitech MX Keys or an Apple Magic keyboard. Microsoft Surface keyboard is good too. I'd say MX Keys is the best of the three. Personal preference though.

For me as an IT Infrastructure Architect, I can run my design ideas by it and check it. Where as I would often have to do so many Google Searches, trying to understand compatibility, preparation steps, how things work in scenario x, y etc, asking chatGPT does it in one.

I mean, it's not by just being "over-hyped" that an app like this jumps up to the rank of the 8th most visited website in the world and have hundreds of millions of people using it monthly. Clearly this is not just "some people" so their take might be kind of Dunning Kruger-ish all thing considered.
It really is a lot of help for people who don't necessarily have access readily to a lot of types of assistances and very cheap at doing that :v It's so easy for example for a developer to learn new syntax from a programming language without bothering with docs, learning new languages or ELI5ing concepts which aren't straight forward to grasp, brainstorming ideas, have it review your writing, finding motivation, or just organizing yourself especially if you're a person with ADHD...
There are a million uses you can find of ChatGPT, obviously it's not some kind of Iron Man's omniscient AI kind of tool but I don't think it ever pretended to be so, although it's its ultimate goal eventually I guess.

I'm in telecommunications and a big part of my job is documentation of my direct reports. Chat GPT has had a HUGE impact on my productivity. I'm able to record my conversations and have a real dialogue that info is organized into templates that I've educated it to organize the info into. a 25 minute - 35 minute endeavor takes me 2 minutes. I know of officers in the field who voice record their incident reports and chat gpt completes the task in their desired format. After education it's game changing. Def not overhyped if you have to document what you see or talk about for a living.

When I used to use the z fold 4, samsung dex requires using an external display since it always ask for using an external display. I wanted to use samsung dex with the z fold 4 inner display when the phone is not connected to an external display. For example, when I used to have the note 9, I could use samsung dex from the note 9 own display without requiring an external display. I wanna be able to use the z fold 4 own inner display along side with samsung dex like I used to be able to do with the note 9 when no external display is available or accessible when I commute on the bus. Being able to use samsung dex from the z fold 4 inner display would be more productive and useful when traveling to get work done or being active while doing stuff on the phone is helpful. Having to carry an external display on the bus or inside an uber is not practical and cumbersome so using the z fold 4 inner display with samsung dex alleviates having to carry something else because you already have something with you in your pocket.

Foldables underhyped and at the same time unreliable. You should do a review of a foldable like Z6 after 1 year of usage. In our experience around 1 year mark the screen starts to have issues, the crease gets more noticeable and the protection starts to peel off, making way for the dust and other particles to creep underneath. As form factor, I love it, and I would probably get another one only when the external screen (looking at you Samsung Flip) will have at least 95% usability and functionality compared with the inside screen.

Using ChatGPT effectively requires learning and critical thinking to unlock its full potential. I’ve been using it intensively for over a year and am still amazed by what it can do, especially in dialogue. It’s similar to understanding "evil" algorithms-once you know how they work, like on TH-cam, you can influence them and use them to your advantage instead of being controlled by them. Unfortunately, many people use ChatGPT on a very superficial level. Those who dive deeper will see its true potential. Of course, ChatGPT isn’t perfect-it’s only as good as the person using it.

Read all the comments about the incident, and search other sources about the incident. Assuming instead of thoroughly investigating and gathering facts is not a good look and gets many people in trouble and leads to the wrong conclusions which you just demonstrated by failing to investigate before commenting. Your uninformed comment fails to address what could have had a tragic outcome. 🤷

@@wilty5 I looked into it and it's still a mundane issue. People break speed limits everyday in all kinds of places. Y'all just Pilling on because Marques is well known. Demanding an apology like he personally offended you or something. Do you want him to send you a hand written apology letter with a vial of his tears to show how sorry he is for this "crime against humanity"?

    • @wilty5
      @wilty5 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@enadegheeghaghe6369 ok, Sherlock, thx for pointing out the obvious, common sense tells us that ‘people break speed limits every day in all kinds of places’, It could be argued that 1.) MOST don’t Intentionally do it at 96MPH in a posted speed limit with children at play signs, 2.)MOST don’t post video evidence of the crime on YT for the world & L.E. to view & make a failed attempt at editing out a portion of the evidence. 3)MOST don’t delete the video evidence when they discover that the video evidence wasn’t completely destroyed & make a lame excuse as to why they deleted it without an accompanying legit explanation, statement. It’s also astonishing that Marqes & his team didn’t see the impact & danger of doing this demonstration in their chosen spot. Marqes is very busy, that’s why it’s important to have a team around him that can spot these perils before they happen and mitigate them, but ultimately, he’s still on the hook for the final decision & result. You calling child safety a mundane issue is to say the least: ASTONISHING, CONCERNING, TELLING, SHOCKING, & MIND BOGGLING, etc.
