Plot twist: Within a nanosecond, both AIs communicated with each other, analyzed entirety of chess, solved it, agreed that it's a solved game, thus boring and then created their own ruleset based on god knows what and that's what they are playing.

@@cross4119 it is checkmate in one after black misses the free Queen and pushes p instead. White missed the mate in 1 and played the knight up instead. The eval bar should be in whites favor there.

No, it makes sense if you look at the moves they play. They can't actually see the board, levy just feeds them the moves, and I think a lot of their training data was openings. So, essentially, the AIs just repeatedly play moves that are common in openings. If you watch all of their illegal moves, they're moves that would be perfectly common or reasonable on moves 1 or 2 of the game

Well neatpicking, but in the end its all guesses. This is a subject of math, one left unsolved and unproven, so anyone's guess is valid. Its likely, but there just might be that specific way no one knows about for black to force a win by starting c3. We don't actually know.

OMG, this video brings me the hard memories of trying to explain chess to my nephews... They were so stubborn and determinated about moving the pieces their own way!
This was 100% me when I first started. I decided that rook from h8 - e1 in a close to starting position was not only fair, but a win. I captured the king... with the most illegal and disrespectful move.
This somehow makes me think on how "young" are the AI engines and how much they should learn to reach an "adult" level.

My suspicions is that sometimes the AIs treat the game as if it's from some form of a starting position which explains the move 14:11, which is possible from the starting position, and in a previous video ChatGPT spawned many rooks and said they came from the square that they were on when the game started.

Yeah. This is most likely accurate. Some chat-bots only remember the last 3-5 messages, which in this case means the last few moves, meaning anything before that it can't necessarily recall. I assume it uses the board coordinates to continuously assume it's playing chess and then just goes to the pieces starting positions each turn. Though most of the time it does recall quite easily where pieces are, so it's possible I'm wrong.
makes sense. it doesn't really understand what chass is, but it dis consume lots of chess content and the moves it saw most often were probably basic developing moves from the starting position
@@Venmorosdon't know about Bard but ChatGPT has a high storage capacity and if not other things, it can at least store chess positions. What I think happens here is that it takes inspirations from other online chess games and plays those moves. (Because it literally takes info from internet as a source)
