As a company, I think it could be a genuine marketing strategy to intentionally leak info about your upcoming games in order to add more drama and interest around it, and I wonder if any major company has tried that before. There've always been rumors of leaks being "intentional" but as far as I can tell there've been no concrete examples
This was basically a theory I entertained before Midori went beyond Sega/Atlus coverage. When you think about it, it would be quite similar to utilizing ARGs for marketing purposes.
