You can’t regroove a steer tire in the states of Mississippi and Alabama they will shutdown your truck and fine you when they fine out if you running tires has been regrooved on the steering axle on your truck
Some employers pay hourly plus commission on each job. Then after hours is where the real money is made. For instance, Michelin pays techs $36 an hour with 2 hour minimum per call. Goodyear pays $40. Gotta know your stuff though.
Hardly any money in the business when you work for someone else, better off doing it on your own but be prepared to do the long hours and spend time away from the family

Regrooving

Steer tires are required to be "virgin" new tires. You can not used a regrooved or recapped tire as a steer tire.
