I thanks for sharing your experience and hard work,I had made a comment on one of your videos about buying an old truck for hobby/truck show vehicle only. This video is very helpful as the ole truck has 10.00 x 20 on it .
That inner wheel split ring, I wouldn't put to much faith in. The gap it had was pretty wide. I can't understand why people would still use this design, when tons of conventional wheels are available, with adapters for them.
Just a minor point but I was always taught this is a split bead rim,i.e. The bead that seats the tyre has a slit in it whereas a slit rim has a bead that is a complete hoop that is located by a big spring clip that locks the rim to the wheel?. Big difference is a split bead can only be used with a tube and gator but a split rim with a sealing ring can be used with a tubeless tyre?. Important point being that it is not recommended to use tubes in tyres that specifically call themselves tubeless. There was a big accident near me and the investigators concluded fitting tubes to tubeless tyres was a contributing factor in the accident when the front tyre failed massively and the truck swerved into an oncoming car. Apparently the tube can cause a build up of heat in the tyre and this contributed to its catastrophic failure?
Correct and that why tubes and flap should be replace all the time and they do make tubeless tires for those split rims he is doing it comes with the tire plus a thick flap with valve stem connected with the flap
That is good to show how to do this job, but most people think it is easy to do it and what they don't know they can get kill by one of this split rims.
baby povder is international thing on lock ring wheels. I have bought it 5 kg from pharmacia and I was black from face from hands from clothes, had changed with father all trucks and semis wheels. That happened on year stone and bone.
thanks for video! I're helpful! I have a mobile tire service and are at the beginning. in my region are not mobile service.in my country there are no tools. I had to do at home. comoresorul is homemade with a motor honda.am 22 years old and working alone as you.

Look like he went the cheap way out once the plug has been expose and he resued the plug that means that plug could fail then the tire no good then always use a new plug not keep using the same one over there is a type of material on the plugs for the glue and rubber to seal and should only be used one time only
Did great video for the cheapest way but could have a failure down the road later we tires guys know this way and know it the failure way on the road but getting the driver off the road and to the location they are going but making a mess for other tire guy down the road by grinding on the rims instead using the wire brush and putting baby powder in the tire instead of using the right stuff this method can seriously hurt other tires guys in the field grinding that rim
Radial tires are more flexible and bias are more stiff and usually found on skid loafers and other heavy equipment and yes some use radial as well bias tires have those weird numbers lol while radial is for an example 295 with of the tire 75 height of the side wall 22.5 and rim size bias is something like 8.50 X00 X16 something like that you get the jist that’s my knowledge of it please correct me if I’m not 100& correct
A very good educational video on changing the split rim tire,
Took hrs to change two 8.25 15s on a big lift truck today. Thank you for your knowledge definitely will save me time and my back. And maybe my job lol

Nice video. How much do you normally charge for a road call like this?
good job
+Benjamin Stockton thanks
Why use a two piece patch rather than a one piece mushroom patch? I prefer the pull through mushroom patches for greater strength and ease of use.
He can plug more than one hole with his plugs.

what type of glue did you use for the patch adhesion , just regular rubber cement or a special glue ?

Do u still work on tires?
Once you're in the tyre game, you're in it for life my man
@@Vipox92 I hear you on that
that's a radial tire not a bias tire.
+Ralph Blackburn your absolutely right. I messed up some how
other than R or Radial stamped into the rubber, what are the differences between a bias tire and a radial tire ?
TripleATireService good job
