I was having so much suicidal thoughts 18 years ago as a teenage, also suffered severe anxiety and mental disorder years ago. Got diagnosed with bipolar. Spent my whole life fighting bipolar. Not until my partner recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment changed my life for better. I can proudly say i'm totally clean for 6 years and still counting. Real borderlines don't take accountability for ANYTHING. I dated one, this girl doesn't have diagnosed BPD. She might meet a few criteria for it but she needs to meet 5 of 9 criteria to be diagnosed with BPD. She doesn't have the BPD eyes, it's a 1000yrd stare, like they have nothing they care about.
In the USA and many other Western countries, men are presumed guilty in family court without trial and denied custody based solely on accusations even though every statistical category shows single fathers to be vastly superior compared to single mothers for the healthy upbringing of a child.
That is what I kept thinking about. She lived for years in an abusive household so I wonder if dad tried to get custody but lost. Because it wasn’t until she was 17 or so that she moved in with him I think.
It's amazing how much the human body can handle. She has abused her body so much and still at only 11 days sober, she's impressively articulate and manages to maintain her looks. People can be so resilient. As long as there's air in your lungs, you have a fighting chance at turning your life around. I hope she keeps going.

@@btnhl Goes to show you, genetics plays such a large role in how all of our lives progress...regardless how much society tries to feed you the 'everyone's special' line with participation trophies. She's obviously a good looking girl and has had a lot more financial privileges and opportunities than most other girls in her situation just by 'existing.' The truly devastating damage comes from the stuff you can't see. She stated she was in early stage cirrhosis. It's not reversible and the liver cannot just regenerate or improve. She continues on this path and doesn't quit alcohol cold turkey and odds are she won't be around much longer, regardless how much her body has held on up til now. We all feel invincible when we're young....until we aren't.

There is no more important job in your life than loving and caring for your children. She was so badly let down by her mother you are nurturing a future citizen of the world when you have a child. I agree. I think it was President John F Kennedy's mother who said, "The best thing that you can do for the world is raise a good citizen" or something to that effect. My mama used to say it all the time when she was trying to teach us to have a moral compass and it has stuck with me. 😀

From my perspective, we're having children because we want cute humans, because we want to have sex, because we're programmed this way etc. Even though it's very hard... I cannot grasp how it's like for a mother... every experience, this doesn't change the selfish aspect of creating a new human. We're creating another "us", because we decide to, it's our will to do so. Everything we're going through, feel, good or bad, everything, is something that our child has the potential to go through. I was diagnosed Borderline at age 30 after struggling undiagnosed for over a decade. I did the drinking, the drugs, the sex work- all being beautiful. Im now closer to 50 and manage an organization that serves older adults whose lives strayed as well. Sex workers who no longer have teeth, money, or men’s couches. I am clean and sober and serving. Thank You Savannah for being braver at 28 than I could be at even 40. - don’t focus your energy on what happened rather on building what will.
These diagnoses are all nonsense. Bordeline is actually trauma & post-traumatic stress. I will guess that you experienced abuse, likely sexual abuse, at a young age.
@@steakeater4018 getting diagnosed does nothing in itself. realizing what behaviors you have that are destructive and attributing them to the disorder, then working on it relentlessly preferably with therapy (while actively making positive choices) can make you a functional human being not in constant pain/chaos though. in the end it comes down to self awareness, discipline and honesty though.
Congratulations. I was finally correctly diagnosed at 50 with Bipolar and Borderline after a suicide attempt. Unless you’ve lived it, I don’t believe anyone can understand the heartbeat of living with a mental illness.

I have a Bi polar, borderline relative. Her stories sound VERY similar in exaggeration etc. It's just that my relative can go from screaming you in the face over some minor inconvenience and then 5min later has flipped the story to it being that you screamed at her until she cried. I have a very hard time believing her stories, knowing how reality isn't always real for people qith the BP/borderline combo. Especially Because she's just jumping from the next unbelievable thing to the next with no real details. I have no doubt that she has lead a difficult life. BP/borderline is NOT easy, and it makes it nearly impossible to form long lasting relationships and hold down a job, but I do not believe the movie-like parts of the stories she's telling.

The title borderline bipolar and beautiful is weird to me bc so many other people on this podcast have the same diagnosis and do the same things but are labeled addict, bc they are missing the beauty. As much as I find his videos interesting, I do find he acts differently towards attractive women - even when they are there to discuss abuse or drugs or sex work etc. I notice he does either boss them about a little like a father, or he has fetishised them like this girl :/ I've often just had an uncomfortable vibe from him during interviews with attractive women.
Hearing her talk about alcohol makes me so glad I have been quitting drinking for almost two months now and I'm done. I was an alcoholic drinking hard liquor every night for the last 12 years. It's such a demon and I finally got away from it.

Her comments around attractiveness and addiction are really true and you don't hear about it often. My long time boyfriend is a really attractive guy and even deep in addiction he was still dressed nice and looked attractive. So he would get away with so much and even get special treatment when he went to treatment centers. It actually is a disadvantage to these people because it takes them much longer to see real consequences.

That’s the way it is for me. My older brother even more so. He passed away 2019. There was not a soul alive who didn’t absolutely love him. Even after using and stealing and lying… he died with no enemies
I'm genuinely interested to know how she got diagnosed w/BPD & Bipolar 2? Her dad, a great supporter but allowed her to get abused? The 100k? A lot of her stories she looked scary crazy OD'ing, ended up in different states, wild in public but no one would know she was an addict? OD'd 23 times in a year but also, not? She didn't foam at the mouth but also, she foamed one time. DT's but 11 days sober, she looks great. Also, Bipolar 2 is largely depression/less impulsivity. But everything she did was extreme impulsive, no mention of depression. BPD, doesn't want to know what it is but also she elaborates symptoms of it. Reminds me of Trisha Paytas & she has BPD. If you know Trisha's M.O you'd know she has made up many wild stories of her life, LOVES to talk, & very fast nonstop. She also takes someone else's horrific stories & makes them her own. Sound familiar. Just wish we got more details on the trauma situations & less of the wild somewhat sensationalized tales. I'm sorry that I am judging but just wish we got a slowed down version of deeper issues.

What about stripper shoes or was she in beach flip flops? The girls would have loaned her something but also usually those clubs have a store nearby with stripper clothes or they sell them directly there in the backrooms. I know this from several videos/docuseries of L.A stripper life here on TH-cam.

Mark, I love love your interviews. Just one thing - there's no need to point out when you have a physically attractive guest. It's not relevant to their story - unless they wish to make it so. As a "beautiful": trauma/ ADHD/ CPTSD/GAD and possibly ( big Dr. argument there ) Bipolar person, my looks have added nothing to my life. If anything, they've caused attention by people like narcissists who harm us more. ( My Mom had NPD ) We grow to think it's the only "worthwhile" thing about us, for a while it may even stunt our growth and healing as the relationships/ societal approval may be a distraction. I'm older now and when society deems your beauty has "faded" a bit, the jolt out of that bubble is dramatic. If you haven't been working on yourself all along the way... things get even worse for you. She's told it and told it and told it and at some point that will make it harder on her. She mentioned herself that being beautiful and keeping up appearances was an incredibly important part of her life. I think it's perfectly valid to have that as part of the title for this video.
I had a friend who had BPD (she died from cirrhosis of the liver in her 40s). She was the greatest story teller of all time and this reminds me so much of her. Three A list actors…my friend never once admitted she had BPD. She had no identity. She moved to NYC, pretended to be in law school, lived episodes of sex and the city and was high off of the “life” she claimed she lived. Every story my friend told I realized after she passed that 99% was made up. Her whole life was this epic, vibrant, rollercoaster of made up stories. A dark ride. All the characters she told me about I still think about them. I met her when I was 15 years old. I told her I like the shoes she had on. She said “thank you. My mom bought me six pairs of them.” I looked at her and immediately said “no she didn’t”. She didn’t argue. She dismissed my comment and walked away. That was our first encounter.
so she has a dual diagnosis so Bi polar has a list of symptoms that can very easily impact her in the way that she has mentioned. A diagnosis is a set of symptoms not a person.
I had an affair with a BPD woman, not proud of it but she sold me a story her husband was abusive and I fell into the whole white knight thing to rescue her, none of it was ever true. She also hid a secret drug addiction from me and was seeing other men too. After we broke up she’d send me dozens of texts at 3am pretending to be other people with burner numbers saying she was going to tell the police, my parents and my boss I was a pedofile and other nasty stuff. The next day she’d be begging for me to take her back. Only when she ODed on drugs did I ever get any peace which is sad to say.
I literally had a 24 year old hospice patient who died of cirrhosis of the liver because he drank, partied too much, and took too many drugs. It is not a pretty or easy way to die. It’s very uncomfortable, painful, among many other things. Get sober and stay sober! Rooting for you!
I feel I should add that you don’t typically actually die of cirrhosis, either. Cirrhosis of the liver causes the vena cava, the biggest vein in the body, to swell up and it eventually will burst, which means you bleed out and/or drown in your own blood. So your last minutes of life are usually spent spewing blood from your mouth while it also fills your lungs. Sorry to be so morbid, but I’m a hospice nurse and have seen people die of cirrhosis of the liver many times. Partying hard is not worth it.

My gut instinct is this woman is making up a lot of things. I had a friend who had BPD and she would make up elaborate stories about her life. It was hard to know what was true and what was not. I got a similar feeling when listening to this woman.
Same! My daughter is as well and there is 0 accountability from her. No punishment was the result of her actions or lack of. This is common with BPD people, their brain's are literally wired incorrectly
@@salutedabadd1yadigg Not everyone with BPD is a compulsive liar. I have BPD and I just have bad emotional regulation and abandonment issues. BPD presents across a variety of 9 symptoms, this girl has high impulsivity and poor emotional regulation at the very least.
I normally get that feeling when people tell elaborate stories, but I believe her actually.... Nothing she said is really out of the realm of possibility... She's gorgeous, very outgoing personality, and LA isn't a normal city... I've done a lot of what she has as far as the partying goes and know people who do the whole seeking thing and you find yourself in movie like situations and that's just in Jacksonville FL.. LA is wild.... lol I spent a weekend in LA and ended up in the looney bin bc of psychosis..

The “you’re a lot of guys dream girl” comment is bizarre. I take it Mark hasn’t dated any alcoholics or drug abusers. Is she hot AF? Absolutely. Magazine worthy if you ask me. But dating someone in active addiction is only fun for about a week. The highs and lows, the unpredictability, the chaos, it’s not sustainable and it gets old real quick. Ask my ex husband, lol. If I didn’t get clean one year into that marriage the relationship wouldn’t have lasted more than a very turbulent 16 mos. We ended it at 7 years and what a blessing it was to be sober. Savannah, who cares if you do it for the sake of vanity as you said or any other reason, get sober. You deserve it. The first year is the hardest, after that it gets exponentially easier. She reminds me so much of my best friend growing up. The mental illness, the addictions and being so pretty that people around her just can’t believe that there could possibly be anything wrong. I wish her strength and that her outcome is better than my friend.
@@corinneskitchen I got help and there are no medications for Borderline personality disorder only therapy, she said she got in the car with dude he wanted to take her to get something to eat and she told him she was bulimic she was just gonna throw it up anyway, bulimia is a serious issue people who have bulimia nervosa don't tell random people they have it and bulimics binge and purge a true bulimic would have ate and excused herself to the bathroom. A lot of her story contains holes like this you do know people lie to Marc all the time for exposure and cash. Your gullible
I also have BPD, & I relate so much to Savannah. My mom was an alcoholic & unfortunately passed away 3 years ago. I am currently in DBT & with lots of therapy, there is hope. I am big into health & fitness, so that's been my escape on how I handle my mental illness. It's definitely a battle, but with help & support there is hope. 💗🦋
She has described exactly what happened to me more than a year ago... The blood vomiting, liver scarring etc. I was diagnosed stage 2 liver cirrhosis. Was in intensive care in hospital 4 times. Then i did rehab 6 months. I had a 35 year addiction problem. My go to was always alcohol. Clean for 13 months today and don't have any urges or triggers after hitting rock bottom and almost dying. I just realised that i was looking for the best drug for 3 decades and i only found the best drug now. It's a drug called sobriety.
I feel like Marc should do his research on mental health more to ask better questions in his interview. And watch the words he uses with people who have trauma, because we are really good at hiding it.

Probably a sign of emotional repression (repressing the dark and painful emotions, keeping them out of our awareness). And how she said she tries not to think about her childhood - repression. Unfortunately as long as we are repressing the pain, sadness etc. we can’t heal and will remain traumatized and disordered.

You know that Dan Cummins bit where he talks about going along with a pathological liar just to see where the adventure goes? I get that feeling with this episode.
Indeed, I might watch the second half later, but only because she’s good value as a storyteller. There are so many body language red flags, it makes her an interesting fabricator of the truth. It always surprises me how many people get sucked in, I think we assume the truth as default, and only question things when there’s an obvious fabrication.
Her “Song to the Siren” is just so good. She is beautiful and well spoken. She cusses a lot and says dude a lot. Otherwise, she sounds incredibly intelligent. Her blood sugar dropping and throwing up blood with her bubbly voice makes it sound wonderful. She says it was a horrible, terrible cycle, of being covered in piss and vomit, because she was afraid of going through withdrawals. Get to the end of it. She tells how much of a toll it took on her.
This lady keeps referring to “those people “and “these people “ it’ll be an interesting day for her when she realizes that SHE IS “one of those people” blessings to her🌷

Savannah is also a really good example of how childhood trauma can subsequently lead to disorders such as borderline and bipolar. I've studied mental health a lot over the years and am un-diagnosed (what I believe to be) borderline and possibly ADHD. Thankfully now that I've gotten older and done some healing, my symptoms and behaviour have calmed down a lot, but as an older teen and in my twenties I was an absolute spitfire and was completely lost. Even now, in my thirties, I have no sense of self and no direction in life. There's a massive correlation between childhood neglect/ abuse and borderline personality disorder and I hate that people have preconceived notions of what sufferers of that particular disorder are 'like' and also that BPD or any mental disorder is just an 'excuse' for bad behaviour. It shouldn't ever just be the what - always consider the why and that not everything is what it seems. Biggest example for borderline is that we are manipulative. It might look that way, perhaps even be true at times, but this is something that we aren't always aware of and also came about as a survival mechanism to try avoid bad things earlier in life. We can also be incredibly introspective and aware of a lot of our faults or bad behaviour, especially as we get older, but that doesn't mean any of it is easily 'fixed', as we have terrible impulse control and tend to be very self destructive. Personally, I'm also very observant and learnt early in life how to read the room and read other people's moods - again another survival strategy. Once you really get into studying everything 'mental disorder' and really everything 'human', people start to make a lot more sense in general. Although a lot of it is very tragic.
I can relate to everything u said. And I completely agree, the stigma that comes with all cluster b personality disorders is so negative but the reality is those disorders came about as a way of coping and when u don't have a good model of behavior, ur bound to pick up everyone else's also.
Her story is amazing, kind of ethereal, very fortunate in a lot of ways, many people could have taken advantage. She damaged her body but never acted like a victim or suffered the inner torment of depression and anxiety like so many of us do. She survived and is actually a really interesting person.

Alcohol is the OG killer. Still the most dangerous in our culture because of the attitudes toward it. People die of alcoholism & alcohol-related accidents every single day. It's not only socially acceptable, but it's pushed onto people in a way to make binge drinking seem normal. It's not. The reason (besides the cultural issues) other drugs are so dangerous is because they aren't regulated like booze is. We have prohibition to thank for that. Way more people would meet their demise on alcohol if it wasn't regulated and tested regularly.
Borderline is created in the first seven years of life. Neglect, abuse, emotional needs unmet, dealing with emotionally immature caregivers who are volatile, capricious and not present emotionally. It’s no wonder she is filled with rage. A child innately knows they deserve love and nurturing. She feels betrayed. Everything feels like a threat to her now. The most fundamental need is to feel safe. She was robbed of that in her formative years.
I don’t even think your diagnosis is permanent it’s called complex trauma. Trauma from so many places, people, events, and beyond. You are a shining light, I love your rawness and realness. I really hope you can keep choosing yourself each day and learning to love yourself more each moment.

Her foot is Broken and twisted sideways, she's being carried into the house by her boyfriend. Yet she's able to stand on her bed holding a knife on her stepdad!! If you've ever had a broken foot, that's just unbelievable!!! Makes me wonder if the story is 100%.
None of these stories are true 😂 it’s crazy to see how many gullible people there are. Take into account the BPD and if all makes sense with the attn seeking and making up grand stories. Guarantee the stories get wilder every time she tells them. And she tells them ALL THE TIME 😂😂 i hope she matures and seeks mental help. Even if he was in jail; he could still call her and find out how she is doing and call the authorities to step in if he learned she was being abused. Makes no sense whatever.

Also, I’m wondering when she was enduring all the abuse as a young child if he tried to get custody of her. I would love to hear her Dad’s side of the story. And again, as in so many of these cases, wasn’t there at least one teacher who picked up on the abuse. That amazes me more than anything.
As someone who has also been through many similar experinces shes had, I believe her 100%. People also call me a liar. To me it doesnt matter if people believe me or not, because I know the truth. Experiencing traumatic things makes you realize what truly trustworthy people look like, and thats a very small number of people in this world.

I worked in a hospital in nursing. Big hospital big city. None of these people on here don’t make this stuff up. I saw things I didn’t know existed trust me I believe it. Reality is far more bizarre than fiction
As much as I wish to believe her and hear her story, i have lots of experience with people diagnosed with BPD and borderline. Many will take on other people's stories and make them their own in the midst of their perceived lack of identity. It is interesting to hear her contradict herself in almost every other sentence, i don't mean this in a negative or hateful way, but there is another layer to this story. Unless you have someone close to you with her diagnoses or have studied them in school, you may not pick up on her behavior that is very reflective of her mental health disorders. I wish she would have focused on her past and how her mental health has affected her, i understand that it might have been too hard, but in some moments it seems as if she is glamorizing drug use and belittling the actual danger it can cause. i hope that this is her truth and that she is getting the help she needs because no one deserves to go through all of that also, i am sorry if the original part of this comment offended anyone, i was speaking from experience so obviously what i think will be different from most people. i am sorry if it seemed like i was automatically assuming she was lying, i was just recognizing patterns in behaviors, these are mental illnesses that are diagnosed in the DSM-5 by grouping people into categories based on behavior, experiences, and how the experiences have impacted their day to day life. i am very educated in these topics but obviously i do not know everything. i do know however that all mental illnesses have overlapping symptoms and it would be impossible to diagnose people if every single person with BPD/borderline/etc acted completely different from each other. While yes, everyones EXPERIENCES are different, most people diagnosed with the same mental illness will behave very similarly. there are differences, but the differences are very unique and distinct to each individual, usually only understood by their immediate health care professionals.
interesting take. i think often BPD are narcissists. My step mum had zero empathy, it was scary how she would try and dig people down, unless she got something from them. With narcissists', Nothing is their fault, nothing you do is good enough for them. and they truly don't care about you or anyone else. i think when they marry or "love" someone, it is a delusion, and they trick themselves that they "love" this person, but all relationships in their lives relate back to their nasty parents, and they hurt all new relationships as a way to get revenge on their parents. toxic people. you can feel it when in the same room, they jsut drain your energy and you feel like you have to be careful around them.
This is the problem when people admit they have borderline, they are instantly stereotyped. Not everyone is the same. I believe everything she is saying. Shame on you guys.
The combination of BPD, PTSD, and ADHD can cause for misdiagnosis as bipolar. That happened to a woman I know--and she definitely isn't bipolar. She seems to have that combo. Becoming relaxed from smoking methamphetamine seems a decent sign of ADHD--along with her descriptions of her life.
all these diagnosis"are not grounded in any seriously objective science,they rely on often fairly subjective arbitrary assessments and merely are grouped together behaviours and so called symptoms"that one way or another are merely responses to trauma.They are not rooted in biology as such even though there is very real biological effects in mood changes and disregulated nervous systems hence the need to self medicate. Basically the psych meds also dampen and sedate emotions and feelings,they do NOT treat any imbalance. Its all trauma just in different guises.
When she said she was less concerned about dying and more concerned about waking I felt like I understood drug addiction for a second. For whatever it is worth, I hope you are able to understand who you are and find what it is that will make your soul happy. Life is very short.
Her reasoning for getting sober is honestly sobering & seems true for anyone who wants to achieve great things--you can't have both. It's a tough pill to swallow. So much wisdom in that.

I agree with some of the videos I've seen but I think here and from what I've learned on the Whatever podcast I think he's joking. A lot of guys don't want a Bipolar, sex working, party/drug/alcohol addicted girlfriend. Some might not mind but she's every party guys (part time) dream girl. Not a long term relationship girl. (Just basing off what I've heard the opinions and statistics from guys)
Not to take away from this interview, savannah went through the ringer but came out the other side with scars but still alive and strong. I am researching myself into BPD. I understand that it need to be diagnosed by a professional but everything that Savannah had gone through and effects are things that I go through now. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety in 2022. I’m currently on meds but it always felt like there was something more than just those two and now I’m understanding from others such as savannah. So I want to say thank you for this interview to Savannah and all the others for helping me understand and not feeling alone with this disease.
Definitely get the best professional opinion about it. It can be nice to give a name to the monster inside us and easier to blame an affliction so there are a whole bunch of pits one can fall into on the journey of discovering yourself. Its almost guaranteed to be a bad time trying to figure it out on your own. I learned that BPD mostly goes undiagnosed because the people with it are rarely willing to accept that reality and work to keep life in order. But it sounds like you have extremely good self awareness!
Dear Savannah, during this interview I heard you asking for help to discover who you really are so that you can ground yourself & do better than what you saw at home. If I'm off, I'm really sorry & please forget this message. If I'm right, here's a tip: Anxiety is the fear of being seen by someone else before you manage to see yourself which makes you a controlfreak that keeps people at arms length. The lack of self-awareness is what causes the anxiety (lack of trust) in he first place. To trust yourself you must be grounded & for that you have to know yourself (as you so wisely said in the video). To trust yourself you must first trust your body so that you feel emotions instead of think them. That's how you break the chaotic patterns of life. Second step is to be able to face silence bc drugs, nonstop talking, avoiding eye contact, etc are all ways to avoid silence, therefore, what you've been carrying in the shadows. Remember feelings are just passing if you allow them to do so, & pain can be healed through grieving. Grieve what didn't happen to you even though you wish you could, & that's how your true self starts coming out. Throughout this process I highly reccomend you start exploring what you love (music, colors, places, food) & fill your life with as much of that as you possibly can ❤ With so much love, Carla
She reminds me of Paris Hilton. Her mother formed her personality at a very young age. Our mother used to say she wished we were never born. It gets you to think about your own existence at a very young age. If we ever tried to get physical with our mother, the weapons would come out-wooden spoon, one of dad's belts. If someone plopped $100,000 into my lap at that age, I would have asked my dad what to do with it. He would have asked where and how I got it, and he would have yelled and swore at me at the top of his lungs, kicked me out of the house and told me to never come back, then he would have invested it.
@@teeona307the people that are judging the harshest usually deeply unhappy and probably have the most to hide so they won’t be judged harshly…I don’t get it. We’re all humans and we all go through different journeys to get us where we are now, and you hardly ever get unfiltered, honest stories from people about that journey. I just have a lot of respect for her and so many of these people Mark interviews.
The “beautiful” aspect is a huge turn-off since other interviewees haven’t received those comments, and the focus should NOT be focused on physical attributes when opening up about trauma. Those physical attributes can be related or even a root to some of the abuse we’ve endured.
She comes across like an actress preparing for a role. She seems pleased with herself somehow--I don't know how much of her story is real. I'm quitting the interview early.
First, sometimes people smile or laugh about things that they're actually ashamed about because it's a response to being uncomfortable and self defense. Second, she's clearly not over her addictions because she still talks about them in a fond or even positive light. This is something I also did when I still wasn't over my addictions. Someone even pointed it out to me that the way I talked about drugs and my experiences made it clear to them I wasn't over it yet. They were correct. Don't judge people so harshly when you don't know them, it's clear to me she's still in the throes of addiction and has a lot more work to do. She does a lot of justifying and minimizing especially when it comes to "Alcohol is horrible for me but i've never had issues with other drugs". Again, addiction. Addiction and mental health issues can cause a lot of mental gymnastics.
As someone with BPD we tend to seem like we’re acting a lot because we mirror others and don’t have a strong sense of self. Depersonalization and dissociation from trauma is also common. It’s part of the disorder.

If you want her to loose her mind completely yeah magic mushrooms will do the trick.. it definetely gives you painrelease, thats true, i experienced that myself. but it also brings a lot of toxiticy in your system which a long time to level again to normal values. so its the best & worst of both worlds.
The comment about “every man’s dream girl” honestly reinforces the ego boost of a person with borderline personality and someone’s ego during a manic episode. It’s a dangerous comment to feed to people with these disorders.
I really enjoyed listening to Savannah. I wish her the best in life! Her story also made me realize I made the right choice of never drinking again in my late teens.
I like her so much,I would love to be friends with her or a chick like her just because she is so candid and honest about her experiences but she never tried to make herself look like a victim. She also just seems like a nice person and its rare to find females that are real and not fake or manipulative or petty.
I realized 3/4 of the way through that the love that I felt for Savannah was not because of her beauty or her spirit, but because I was looking at a female version of myself at points of my life when she told her stories and struggles with addiction/boredom/etc. Savannah if you read this I can't tell you it gets easier or less boring, being sober. What I can tell you is that speaking the truth in this video as you did may help you become more than you ever knew you were or could be. She articulates the madness of alcohol so well. I get it girl! When Mark asks her about the $100,000 she was given from an A-list celebrity she changes the topic and goes on another tangent. Judging by her behaviour I feel like her stories are exaggerated and she seems more like a narcissistic pathological liar. She is definitely a captivating storyteller and knows what the listeners of SWU want to hear. Mark seems to favour having attractive and damaged addicts on his channel as they definitely generate more views.

Same, my ex was diagnosed bipolar and I always assumed she could have been BPD too since they share a lot of the same characteristics. She was beautiful, extremely intelligent, but also a master manipulator, compulsive liar, little to no empathy, no drug she wouldn't refuse, used people, and a covert narcissist. Victimhood was the name of her game, no matter how big or small she was always a victim and she duped me with this angle in the beginning of our relationship. I used to always say to myself "poor unfortunate girl", telling myself how could someone so wonderful go through such hardships? Well I eventually caught on and this "victim" manipulation and how it worked to quench the validation she so desperately needed to pad her ego as is how all narcissists do. Never again.
Such a funny, creative, charismatic, magical person. She's way more than 'beautiful', way more than 'any man's dream girl'. Savannah, I recommend you reading 'The Trauma Bond'. I wish you strength and love.
It’s like she continued the abusive after leaving her parents by abusing herself. There are so many wonderful things to do with a life; it’s sad that she chose this path. I hope she finds what she loves in life and what is also life-giving and allows her thrive instead of the self-destruction. ❤
Your comment sounds like you did not experience abuse the way she did. As a woman who was beaten by her father regularly, and also neglected by him, drugs and alcohol became a solution to emotional pain. Children that are abused have a MUCH higher rate of addiction and ADHD. I wish that it was that easy to just decide to love myself at that time. After getting sober at age 25 I Learned to love and value myself.... but it took time and taking steps to live in a way that lent itself to self love and respect.
A lot of us with BPD don’t realize the lies we’re telling. It’s not always intentional. Often times, it’s to seek acceptance from radical ideas. Lies are lies, yes, but it’s a story nonetheless.
Someothing ive noticed from also havinf BPD as a woman is we honestly do get in the craziest situations and have the craziest stories that a lot of it doesnt seem beilievable to most people. It can be isolating opening up to people about the stories and not being believed.
Having Borderline Personality Disorder is the most crazy, miserable, lonely, confusing, impulsive, scary, gluttonous, guilty, shameful, angry, sad & anxious thing a person could ever humanly experience. It's no wonder they have the highest risk of suicide over any other disorder that could be clinically diagnosed.
Im so glad coming into the comments and most people realise she is lying. Compulsive lying is a very common trait of borderline personality disorder. If Mark were to challenge her or pick apart her stories that dont add up, i think she would fly into a rage
I think this is the first SWU interview I won't finish watching. I was 19 minutes in and had to pause the video; there's just something about her that repels me.
I've seen alcohol turn people into monsters. Monsters no different than those on stimulant drugs and in my case, alcohol being worse to be around. Hope this girl is about to find healing and happiness.
Some people drink alcohol and it’s just doesn’t mix well with their brain chemistry. My ole step dad only drank beer, Coors light, when I knew him. It turned him into a monster. He was normal when he didn’t drink. He ended up dying in Hospice from cirrhosis of his liver and went into a coma December 9, 2018. Granted my mom divorced him back in 1992, but we got a call from Tampa Hospice, as my mom being his next or kin. She hasn’t talked to him 1992, but in his Google sear her old married name came up. He was estranged from his family, so we found his sister on Facebook and wrote her. She went to see him and said she hadn’t seen him in years, but it was good to see him. He was 66 or 67 years when he died, but spent the last 12-15 years homeless. He drank 12-18 beers a sag and couldn’t hold a job or a place to live. He came from a well to do family. Alcohol can be the Devil drug for some people. It’s awful. I can drink and it won’t do that to me. It doesn’t make me feel angry. It makes me giddy and happy. I don’t crave alcohol and don’t have to have it. I just noticed when I do drink alcohol, it doesn’t run or ruin my life. It’s difficult to understand how alcohol affects some people so badly. It’s sad.
@@heathercrumpler5353’m like you with alcohol. I have a brother I love dearly but he’s an alcoholic and you never know when he’s going through a dry spell so I don’t hardly see him. He gets way out of control. Becomes a very scary person. 😢💔
My father also passed from alcohol. He started drinking at 9 he said, was terribly abused in foster homes on the reservation we are part of (me, too, eventually) and he only quit after going to jail for abusing my best friend at the time, and when he was out on probation or whatever, in total I think 9 years, with one relapse a couple years in, so less than that. The HOUR he was finally off of that, he was drunk. Didn't see him for a few days until my brother called and started with "please don't get mad, but..." Our relationship was complicated, and due to his alcoholism our lives were completely thrown into chaos, he would throw me under the bus to continue his "lifestyle", he just would rent a room, full if dirty dishes, garbage, a bed with no mattress that he almost started on fire a few times, and I don't know if he bathed with any sort of regularity. He had this smell...he was on disability so would just pay rent, spend very little on food, and pay the bar tab of the bar that contributed greatly to his disease. He worked cleaning mornings there, for beer. When he had money, he would get drunk in the morning, stumble home to sleep a bit, and go back in the afternoon to get drunk again. He quit going our nights cuz he got into all sorts of trouble. When a stranger found him, they took whatever cash he had first then called the cops. This was very early spring, and it was still cold out out. He was shirtless, had on one sock and shoe, and was in his neighbors back yard, cold and stiff. I sometimes wonder if his roommates, a couple I know that were alcoholics and users themselves and kinda shitty, had locked him out. They would message or call to complain of his actions but what could I do? Constant 72 hour holds? We tried that. If someone is intent on drinking or user, they will. Sorry for the length, I guess I haven't talked about his death much since it happened last March. He had a sorry life, and could just never pull out of it, and didn't want to.
Borderline personality disorder is often given to persons who have had trauma. What is actually needed is trauma-informed treatment, not that diagnosis.
This woman is just like my mom. She would act the same way on alcohol and off of it. My dad says it’s very easy to fall in love with a woman who holds life so tightly in her hands that it ends up squeezing through the cracks.

It’s good to hear that she hasn’t had any thoughts of self deletion because alcohol abuse and bipolar disorder is really a bad combination. I was told by my doctor that people with bipolar disorder delete themselves at a higher rate than even people with depression. I thought I had a lot of story’s. Everything she says sounds 100% believable too. When you’re on an absolute sick one ,it is crazy how much wild and random shit you go through and don’t die . I truly hope she can stay sober get into a program get counseling and share her experiences with others struggling. She has to manifest her success at sobriety . If that’s what she does . I would much rather cry out to God for help and guidance.

Pretty much everything she said sounds like a lie. Drinking a gallon of alcohol a day? Gunshot? Waking up in Chicago the morning after being in LA when it would take longer than that to drive there. It's all lies.

@@HvH420I have BPD and my stories sound made up as well.. thankfully I have witnesses to back up my experiences. When you’re using drugs and alcohol to numb you end up getting into really bad situations that involve violence, gangs, criminals, all sorts of bad people. I’ve looked death in the face a few times and shouldn’t have survived.. but I did. Also, she mentions cocaine.. which is a stimulant and you can drink a lethal amount alcohol with that combo.
Her looks are what kept her out on the streets for so long. My ugly ass ran out of options. I have custody of our three children and I hope and prey she gets it together
Not afraid to die, but afraid to wake up. That's powerful. Then she says: "You do it all to your damn self." "I did this" and "I created this hell" Girl I hear you, but give yourself grace because you're doing what all humans are wired to do: escape discomfort and seek rewards. Drugs and alcohol do this for you. Nobody gave you the tools you needed early in life to be able to cope with discomfort in other ways (and based on how they treated you, they also lacked coping mechanisms). None of this is your fault...you're simply having a normal human response to awful circumstances. It's never too late to gain those coping skills and repair the damage that was inflicted upon you, especially when you have so much insight already and are full of potential.
For those you dont understand her, well you probably wont ever Understand her.. I can relate to her in some ways.. When you are in dealing with trauma/ addiction and servival ... Yes people have big memories problems but i truly believe all she has said...i hope she finds a stable place and i wish her well 🙏
It's all about her... This is a fascinating look at how that scene takes these types in and spits them out... She thinks she's always doing something bigger & better, but in fact she's just getting used.

That’s what I lived with for 10 years it was like a roller coaster of terror. It’s always something bigger and better. Never satisfied! I was left emotionally and physically drained. 2 years later I’m still mending and don’t think I’ll ever date again. I’m happy and at peace
Just because you find yourself in some "professional's" office, and they "diagnose" you (especially if you are on drugs, lack of sleep, or other stressors), does not mean the diagnosis is accurate or permanent. I was having so much suicidal thoughts 18 years ago as a teenage, also suffered severe anxiety and mental disorder years ago. Got diagnosed with bipolar. Spent my whole life fighting bipolar. Real borderlines don't take accountability for ANYTHING. I dated one, this girl doesn't have diagnosed BPD. She might meet a few criteria for it but she needs to meet 5 of 9 criteria to be diagnosed with BPD. She doesn't have the BPD eyes, it's a 1000yrd stare, like they have nothing they care about.
Trauma does that to people. Almost all people that do heavy drugs have PTSD.

In the USA and many other Western countries, men are presumed guilty in family court without trial and denied custody based solely on accusations even though every statistical category shows single fathers to be vastly superior compared to single mothers for the healthy upbringing of a child.

That is what I kept thinking about. She lived for years in an abusive household so I wonder if dad tried to get custody but lost. Because it wasn’t until she was 17 or so that she moved in with him I think.
Maybe the messed up courts gave her to her mom. Full custody and the dad was shut off. The mom must of tortured her father too.
It's amazing how much the human body can handle. She has abused her body so much and still at only 11 days sober, she's impressively articulate and manages to maintain her looks. People can be so resilient. As long as there's air in your lungs, you have a fighting chance at turning your life around. I hope she keeps going.

She's obviously a good looking girl and has had a lot more financial privileges and opportunities than most other girls in her situation just by 'existing.'
The truly devastating damage comes from the stuff you can't see. She stated she was in early stage cirrhosis. It's not reversible and the liver cannot just regenerate or improve. She continues on this path and doesn't quit alcohol cold turkey and odds are she won't be around much longer, regardless how much her body has held on up til now. We all feel invincible when we're young....until we aren't.

I was diagnosed Borderline at age 30 after struggling undiagnosed for over a decade. I did the drinking, the drugs, the sex work- all being beautiful. Im now closer to 50 and manage an organization that serves older adults whose lives strayed as well. Sex workers who no longer have teeth, money, or men’s couches. I am clean and sober and serving. Thank You Savannah for being braver at 28 than I could be at even 40. - don’t focus your energy on what happened rather on building what will.
These diagnoses are all nonsense. Bordeline is actually trauma & post-traumatic stress. I will guess that you experienced abuse, likely sexual abuse, at a young age.

@@steakeater4018 getting diagnosed does nothing in itself. realizing what behaviors you have that are destructive and attributing them to the disorder, then working on it relentlessly preferably with therapy (while actively making positive choices) can make you a functional human being not in constant pain/chaos though. in the end it comes down to self awareness, discipline and honesty though.
Congratulations. I was finally correctly diagnosed at 50 with Bipolar and Borderline after a suicide attempt. Unless you’ve lived it, I don’t believe anyone can understand the heartbeat of living with a mental illness.

I have a Bi polar, borderline relative. Her stories sound VERY similar in exaggeration etc.
It's just that my relative can go from screaming you in the face over some minor inconvenience and then 5min later has flipped the story to it being that you screamed at her until she cried.
I have a very hard time believing her stories, knowing how reality isn't always real for people qith the BP/borderline combo. Especially Because she's just jumping from the next unbelievable thing to the next with no real details.
I have no doubt that she has lead a difficult life. BP/borderline is NOT easy, and it makes it nearly impossible to form long lasting relationships and hold down a job, but I do not believe the movie-like parts of the stories she's telling.
Mark, be mindful of your words and the messages/impressions your words can leave on someone. As much as I find his videos interesting, I do find he acts differently towards attractive women - even when they are there to discuss abuse or drugs or sex work etc. I notice he does either boss them about a little like a father, or he has fetishised them like this girl :/ I've often just had an uncomfortable vibe from him during interviews with attractive women.
Hearing her talk about alcohol makes me so glad I have been quitting drinking for almost two months now and I'm done. I was an alcoholic drinking hard liquor every night for the last 12 years. It's such a demon and I finally got away from it.

Her comments around attractiveness and addiction are really true and you don't hear about it often. My long time boyfriend is a really attractive guy and even deep in addiction he was still dressed nice and looked attractive. So he would get away with so much and even get special treatment when he went to treatment centers. It actually is a disadvantage to these people because it takes them much longer to see real consequences.

I'm genuinely interested to know how she got diagnosed w/BPD & Bipolar 2? Her dad, a great supporter but allowed her to get abused? The 100k? A lot of her stories she looked scary crazy OD'ing, ended up in different states, wild in public but no one would know she was an addict? OD'd 23 times in a year but also, not? She didn't foam at the mouth but also, she foamed one time. DT's but 11 days sober, she looks great. Also, Bipolar 2 is largely depression/less impulsivity. But everything she did was extreme impulsive, no mention of depression. BPD, doesn't want to know what it is but also she elaborates symptoms of it. Reminds me of Trisha Paytas & she has BPD. If you know Trisha's M.O you'd know she has made up many wild stories of her life, LOVES to talk, & very fast nonstop. She also takes someone else's horrific stories & makes them her own. Sound familiar. Just wish we got more details on the trauma situations & less of the wild somewhat sensationalized tales. I'm sorry that I am judging but just wish we got a slowed down version of deeper issues.

Mark, I love love your interviews. Just one thing - there's no need to point out when you have a physically attractive guest. It's not relevant to their story - unless they wish to make it so. As a "beautiful": trauma/ ADHD/ CPTSD/GAD and possibly ( big Dr. argument there ) Bipolar person, my looks have added nothing to my life. If anything, they've caused attention by people like narcissists who harm us more. ( My Mom had NPD ) We grow to think it's the only "worthwhile" thing about us, for a while it may even stunt our growth and healing as the relationships/ societal approval may be a distraction. I'm older now and when society deems your beauty has "faded" a bit, the jolt out of that bubble is dramatic. She mentioned herself that being beautiful and keeping up appearances was an incredibly important part of her life. I think it's perfectly valid to have that as part of the title for this video.
I had a friend who had BPD (she died from cirrhosis of the liver in her 40s). She was the greatest story teller of all time and this reminds me so much of her. Three A list actors…my friend never once admitted she had BPD. She had no identity. She moved to NYC, pretended to be in law school, lived episodes of sex and the city and was high off of the “life” she claimed she lived. Every story my friend told I realized after she passed that 99% was made up. Her whole life was this epic, vibrant, rollercoaster of made up stories. A dark ride. All the characters she told me about I still think about them. I met her when I was 15 years old. I told her I like the shoes she had on. She said “thank you. My mom bought me six pairs of them.” I looked at her and immediately said “no she didn’t”. She didn’t argue. She dismissed my comment and walked away. That was our first encounter.
so she has a dual diagnosis so Bi polar has a list of symptoms that can very easily impact her in the way that she has mentioned. A diagnosis is a set of symptoms not a person.
I had an affair with a BPD woman, not proud of it but she sold me a story her husband was abusive and I fell into the whole white knight thing to rescue her, none of it was ever true. She also hid a secret drug addiction from me and was seeing other men too. After we broke up she’d send me dozens of texts at 3am pretending to be other people with burner numbers saying she was going to tell the police, my parents and my boss I was a pedofile and other nasty stuff. The next day she’d be begging for me to take her back. Only when she ODed on drugs did I ever get any peace which is sad to say.

I literally had a 24 year old hospice patient who died of cirrhosis of the liver because he drank, partied too much, and took too many drugs. It is not a pretty or easy way to die. It’s very uncomfortable, painful, among many other things. Get sober and stay sober! Rooting for you!
I feel I should add that you don’t typically actually die of cirrhosis, either. Cirrhosis of the liver causes the vena cava, the biggest vein in the body, to swell up and it eventually will burst, which means you bleed out and/or drown in your own blood. So your last minutes of life are usually spent spewing blood from your mouth while it also fills your lungs.
Sorry to be so morbid, but I’m a hospice nurse and have seen people die of cirrhosis of the liver many times. Partying hard is not worth it.

My gut instinct is this woman is making up a lot of things. I had a friend who had BPD and she would make up elaborate stories about her life. It was hard to know what was true and what was not. I got a similar feeling when listening to this woman.
Same! My daughter is as well and there is 0 accountability from her. No punishment was the result of her actions or lack of. This is common with BPD people, their brain's are literally wired incorrectly

She's gorgeous, very outgoing personality, and LA isn't a normal city... I've done a lot of what she has as far as the partying goes and know people who do the whole seeking thing and you find yourself in movie like situations and that's just in Jacksonville FL.. LA is wild.... lol

The “you’re a lot of guys dream girl” comment is bizarre. I take it Mark hasn’t dated any alcoholics or drug abusers. Is she hot AF? Absolutely. Magazine worthy if you ask me. But dating someone in active addiction is only fun for about a week. The highs and lows, the unpredictability, the chaos, it’s not sustainable and it gets old real quick. Ask my ex husband, lol. If I didn’t get clean one year into that marriage the relationship wouldn’t have lasted more than a very turbulent 16 mos. We ended it at 7 years and what a blessing it was to be sober.
Savannah, who cares if you do it for the sake of vanity as you said or any other reason, get sober. You deserve it. The first year is the hardest, after that it gets exponentially easier. Thank you for sharing your story!

She reminds me so much of my best friend growing up. The mental illness, the addictions and being so pretty that people around her just can’t believe that there could possibly be anything wrong. I wish her strength and that her outcome is better than my friend.
I had a friend like that in school too. It didn’t work out for her either.

@@corinneskitchen I got help and there are no medications for Borderline personality disorder only therapy, she said she got in the car with dude he wanted to take her to get something to eat and she told him she was bulimic she was just gonna throw it up anyway, bulimia is a serious issue people who have bulimia nervosa don't tell random people they have it and bulimics binge and purge a true bulimic would have ate and excused herself to the bathroom. A lot of her story contains holes like this you do know people lie to Marc all the time for exposure and cash. Your gullible

I also have BPD, & I relate so much to Savannah. My mom was an alcoholic & unfortunately passed away 3 years ago. I am currently in DBT & with lots of therapy, there is hope. I am big into health & fitness, so that's been my escape on how I handle my mental illness. It's definitely a battle, but with help & support there is hope. 💗🦋
She has described exactly what happened to me more than a year ago... The blood vomiting, liver scarring etc. I was diagnosed stage 2 liver cirrhosis. Was in intensive care in hospital 4 times. Then i did rehab 6 months. I had a 35 year addiction problem. My go to was always alcohol. Clean for 13 months today and don't have any urges or triggers after hitting rock bottom and almost dying. I just realised that i was looking for the best drug for 3 decades and i only found the best drug now. It's a drug called sobriety.

How this woman is alive is beyond me. And the fact she tells this whole story with a smile is insane.
Probably a sign of emotional repression (repressing the dark and painful emotions, keeping them out of our awareness). And how she said she tries not to think about her childhood - repression. Unfortunately as long as we are repressing the pain, sadness etc. we can’t heal and will remain traumatized and disordered.

Indeed, I might watch the second half later, but only because she’s good value as a storyteller. There are so many body language red flags, it makes her an interesting fabricator of the truth. It always surprises me how many people get sucked in, I think we assume the truth as default, and only question things when there’s an obvious fabrication.
Her “Song to the Siren” is just so good. She is beautiful and well spoken. She cusses a lot and says dude a lot. Otherwise, she sounds incredibly intelligent. Her blood sugar dropping and throwing up blood with her bubbly voice makes it sound wonderful. She says it was a horrible, terrible cycle, of being covered in piss and vomit, because she was afraid of going through withdrawals. Get to the end of it. She tells how much of a toll it took on her.

Savannah is also a really good example of how childhood trauma can subsequently lead to disorders such as borderline and bipolar. I've studied mental health a lot over the years and am un-diagnosed (what I believe to be) borderline and possibly ADHD. Thankfully now that I've gotten older and done some healing, my symptoms and behaviour have calmed down a lot, but as an older teen and in my twenties I was an absolute spitfire and was completely lost. Even now, in my thirties, I have no sense of self and no direction in life. There's a massive correlation between childhood neglect/ abuse and borderline personality disorder and I hate that people have preconceived notions of what sufferers of that particular disorder are 'like' and also that BPD or any mental disorder is just an 'excuse' for bad behaviour. It shouldn't ever just be the what - always consider the why and that not everything is what it seems.
Biggest example for borderline is that we are manipulative. It might look that way, perhaps even be true at times, but this is something that we aren't always aware of and also came about as a survival mechanism to try avoid bad things earlier in life. We can also be incredibly introspective and aware of a lot of our faults or bad behaviour, especially as we get older, but that doesn't mean any of it is easily 'fixed', as we have terrible impulse control and tend to be very self destructive. Personally, I'm also very observant and learnt early in life how to read the room and read other people's moods - again another survival strategy.
Once you really get into studying everything 'mental disorder' and really everything 'human', people start to make a lot more sense in general. Although a lot of it is very tragic.
I can relate to everything u said. And I completely agree, the stigma that comes with all cluster b personality disorders is so negative but the reality is those disorders came about as a way of coping and when u don't have a good model of behavior, ur bound to pick up everyone else's also.

Her story is amazing, kind of ethereal, very fortunate in a lot of ways, many people could have taken advantage. She damaged her body but never acted like a victim or suffered the inner torment of depression and anxiety like so many of us do. She survived and is actually a really interesting person.

Alcohol is the OG killer. Still the most dangerous in our culture because of the attitudes toward it. People die of alcoholism & alcohol-related accidents every single day. It's not only socially acceptable, but it's pushed onto people in a way to make binge drinking seem normal. It's not. The reason (besides the cultural issues) other drugs are so dangerous is because they aren't regulated like booze is. We have prohibition to thank for that. Way more people would meet their demise on alcohol if it wasn't regulated and tested regularly.

Borderline is created in the first seven years of life. Neglect, abuse, emotional needs unmet, dealing with emotionally immature caregivers who are volatile, capricious and not present emotionally. It’s no wonder she is filled with rage. A child innately knows they deserve love and nurturing. She feels betrayed. Everything feels like a threat to her now. The most fundamental need is to feel safe. She was robbed of that in her formative years.

As someone diagnosed with ptsd (likely cptsd but the evaluation didn’t cover that) as well as BPD…. They are Not the same thing.
BPD is marked by Impulsivity - Impulsivity is the tendency to act without thinking. I hope you can continue to stay safe.

As someone who has also been through many similar experinces shes had, I believe her 100%. People also call me a liar. To me it doesnt matter if people believe me or not, because I know the truth. Experiencing traumatic things makes you realize what truly trustworthy people look like, and thats a very small number of people in this world.

I worked in a hospital in nursing. Big hospital big city. None of these people on here don’t make this stuff up. I saw things I didn’t know existed trust me I believe it. Reality is far more bizarre than fiction
The good thing is you are still smiling and enjoying life. I have been sober 6 years. You have so much potential.
As much as I wish to believe her and hear her story, i have lots of experience with people diagnosed with BPD and borderline. Many will take on other people's stories and make them their own in the midst of their perceived lack of identity. It is interesting to hear her contradict herself in almost every other sentence, i don't mean this in a negative or hateful way, but there is another layer to this story. Unless you have someone close to you with her diagnoses or have studied them in school, you may not pick up on her behavior that is very reflective of her mental health disorders. I wish she would have focused on her past and how her mental health has affected her, i understand that it might have been too hard, but in some moments it seems as if she is glamorizing drug use and belittling the actual danger it can cause. i hope that this is her truth and that she is getting the help she needs because no one deserves to go through all of that
also, i am sorry if the original part of this comment offended anyone, i was speaking from experience so obviously what i think will be different from most people. i am sorry if it seemed like i was automatically assuming she was lying, i was just recognizing patterns in behaviors, these are mental illnesses that are diagnosed in the DSM-5 by grouping people into categories based on behavior, experiences, and how the experiences have impacted their day to day life. i am very educated in these topics but obviously i do not know everything. i do know however that all mental illnesses have overlapping symptoms and it would be impossible to diagnose people if every single person with BPD/borderline/etc acted completely different from each other. While yes, everyones EXPERIENCES are different, most people diagnosed with the same mental illness will behave very similarly. there are differences, but the differences are very unique and distinct to each individual, usually only understood by their immediate health care professionals.
interesting take. i think often BPD are narcissists. My step mum had zero empathy, it was scary how she would try and dig people down, unless she got something from them. With narcissists', Nothing is their fault, nothing you do is good enough for them. and they truly don't care about you or anyone else. i think when they marry or "love" someone, it is a delusion, and they trick themselves that they "love" this person, but all relationships in their lives relate back to their nasty parents, and they hurt all new relationships as a way to get revenge on their parents. toxic people. you can feel it when in the same room, they jsut drain your energy and you feel like you have to be careful around them.

The combination of BPD, PTSD, and ADHD can cause for misdiagnosis as bipolar. That happened to a woman I know--and she definitely isn't bipolar. She seems to have that combo. Becoming relaxed from smoking methamphetamine seems a decent sign of ADHD--along with her descriptions of her life.
all these diagnosis"are not grounded in any seriously objective science,they rely on often fairly subjective arbitrary assessments and merely are grouped together behaviours and so called symptoms"that one way or another are merely responses to trauma.They are not rooted in biology as such even though there is very real biological effects in mood changes and disregulated nervous systems hence the need to self medicate.
Basically the psych meds also dampen and sedate emotions and feelings,they do NOT treat any imbalance.
Its all trauma just in different guises.

When she said she was less concerned about dying and more concerned about waking I felt like I understood drug addiction for a second. For whatever it is worth, I hope you are able to understand who you are and find what it is that will make your soul happy. Life is very short.
Her reasoning for getting sober is honestly sobering & seems true for anyone who wants to achieve great things--you can't have both. It's a tough pill to swallow. So much wisdom in that.

I agree with some of the videos I've seen but I think here and from what I've learned on the Whatever podcast I think he's joking. Not to take away from this interview, savannah went through the ringer but came out the other side with scars but still alive and strong.
I am researching myself into BPD. I understand that it need to be diagnosed by a professional but everything that Savannah had gone through and effects are things that I go through now. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety in 2022. I’m currently on meds but it always felt like there was something more than just those two and now I’m understanding from others such as savannah.
So I want to say thank you for this interview to Savannah and all the others for helping me understand and not feeling alone with this disease.

Definitely get the best professional opinion about it. It can be nice to give a name to the monster inside us and easier to blame an affliction so there are a whole bunch of pits one can fall into on the journey of discovering yourself. Its almost guaranteed to be a bad time trying to figure it out on your own.
I learned that BPD mostly goes undiagnosed because the people with it are rarely willing to accept that reality and work to keep life in order.
But it sounds like you have extremely good self awareness!
Dear Savannah, during this interview I heard you asking for help to discover who you really are so that you can ground yourself & do better than what you saw at home. If I'm off, I'm really sorry & please forget this message.
If I'm right, here's a tip:
Anxiety is the fear of being seen by someone else before you manage to see yourself which makes you a controlfreak that keeps people at arms length. The lack of self-awareness is what causes the anxiety (lack of trust) in he first place.
To trust yourself you must be grounded & for that you have to know yourself (as you so wisely said in the video).
To trust yourself you must first trust your body so that you feel emotions instead of think them. That's how you break the chaotic patterns of life. Second step is to be able to face silence bc drugs, nonstop talking, avoiding eye contact, etc are all ways to avoid silence, therefore, what you've been carrying in the shadows. Remember feelings are just passing if you allow them to do so, & pain can be healed through grieving. Grieve what didn't happen to you even though you wish you could, & that's how your true self starts coming out.
Throughout this process I highly reccomend you start exploring what you love (music, colors, places, food) & fill your life with as much of that as you possibly can ❤

She reminds me of Paris Hilton. Her mother formed her personality at a very young age. Our mother used to say she wished we were never born. It gets you to think about your own existence at a very young age. If we ever tried to get physical with our mother, the weapons would come out-wooden spoon, one of dad's belts. If someone plopped $100,000 into my lap at that age, I would have asked my dad what to do with it. He would have asked where and how I got it, and he would have yelled and swore at me at the top of his lungs, kicked me out of the house and told me to never come back, then he would have invested it.

@@teeona307the people that are judging the harshest usually deeply unhappy and probably have the most to hide so they won’t be judged harshly…I don’t get it. We’re all humans and we all go through different journeys to get us where we are now, and you hardly ever get unfiltered, honest stories from people about that journey. I just have a lot of respect for her and so many of these people Mark interviews.
The “beautiful” aspect is a huge turn-off since other interviewees haven’t received those comments, and the focus should NOT be focused on physical attributes when opening up about trauma. Those physical attributes can be related or even a root to some of the abuse we’ve endured.

She comes across like an actress preparing for a role. She seems pleased with herself somehow--I don't know how much of her story is real. I'm quitting the interview early.
First, sometimes people smile or laugh about things that they're actually ashamed about because it's a response to being uncomfortable and self defense. Second, she's clearly not over her addictions because she still talks about them in a fond or even positive light. This is something I also did when I still wasn't over my addictions. Someone even pointed it out to me that the way I talked about drugs and my experiences made it clear to them I wasn't over it yet. They were correct. Don't judge people so harshly when you don't know them, it's clear to me she's still in the throes of addiction and has a lot more work to do. She does a lot of justifying and minimizing especially when it comes to "Alcohol is horrible for me but i've never had issues with other drugs". Again, addiction. Addiction and mental health issues can cause a lot of mental gymnastics.

As someone with BPD we tend to seem like we’re acting a lot because we mirror others and don’t have a strong sense of self. Depersonalization and dissociation from trauma is also common. It’s part of the disorder.

I like her so much,I would love to be friends with her or a chick like her just because she is so candid and honest about her experiences but she never tried to make herself look like a victim. She also just seems like a nice person and its rare to find females that are real and not fake or manipulative or petty.
I realized 3/4 of the way through that the love that I felt for Savannah was not because of her beauty or her spirit, but because I was looking at a female version of myself at points of my life when she told her stories and struggles with addiction/boredom/etc. Savannah if you read this I can't tell you it gets easier or less boring, being sober. What I can tell you is that speaking the truth in this video as you did may help you become more than you ever knew you were or could be. Thank you for making my Saturday start off so amazing and I hope you stay crazy...

Judging by her behaviour I feel like her stories are exaggerated and she seems more like a narcissistic pathological liar.
She is definitely a captivating storyteller and knows what the listeners of SWU want to hear.
Mark seems to favour having attractive and damaged addicts on his channel as they definitely generate more views.

Same, my ex was diagnosed bipolar and I always assumed she could have been BPD too since they share a lot of the same characteristics. She was beautiful, extremely intelligent, but also a master manipulator, compulsive liar, little to no empathy, no drug she wouldn't refuse, used people, and a covert narcissist. Victimhood was the name of her game, no matter how big or small she was always a victim and she duped me with this angle in the beginning of our relationship. I used to always say to myself "poor unfortunate girl", telling myself how could someone so wonderful go through such hardships? Well I eventually caught on and this "victim" manipulation and how it worked to quench the validation she so desperately needed to pad her ego as is how all narcissists do. Never again.
Such a funny, creative, charismatic, magical person. She's way more than 'beautiful', way more than 'any man's dream girl'. Savannah, I recommend you reading 'The Trauma Bond'. I wish you strength and love.
It’s like she continued the abusive after leaving her parents by abusing herself. There are so many wonderful things to do with a life; it’s sad that she chose this path. I hope she finds what she loves in life and what is also life-giving and allows her thrive instead of the self-destruction. ❤

Your comment sounds like you did not experience abuse the way she did. As a woman who was beaten by her father regularly, and also neglected by him, drugs and alcohol became a solution to emotional pain. Children that are abused have a MUCH higher rate of addiction and ADHD. I wish that it was that easy to just decide to love myself at that time. After getting sober at age 25 I Learned to love and value myself.... but it took time and taking steps to live in a way that lent itself to self love and respect.

A lot of us with BPD don’t realize the lies we’re telling. It’s not always intentional. Often times, it’s to seek acceptance from radical ideas. Lies are lies, yes, but it’s a story nonetheless.
Someothing ive noticed from also havinf BPD as a woman is we honestly do get in the craziest situations and have the craziest stories that a lot of it doesnt seem beilievable to most people. It can be isolating opening up to people about the stories and not being believed.
Having Borderline Personality Disorder is the most crazy, miserable, lonely, confusing, impulsive, scary, gluttonous, guilty, shameful, angry, sad & anxious thing a person could ever humanly experience. It's no wonder they have the highest risk of suicide over any other disorder that could be clinically diagnosed.
It is feeling every emotion at an intensity that no one can understand unless they experience it.

Some people drink alcohol and it’s just doesn’t mix well with their brain chemistry. My ole step dad only drank beer, Coors light, when I knew him. It turned him into a monster. He was normal when he didn’t drink. He ended up dying in Hospice from cirrhosis of his liver and went into a coma December 9, 2018. Granted my mom divorced him back in 1992, but we got a call from Tampa Hospice, as my mom being his next or kin. She hasn’t talked to him 1992, but in his Google sear her old married name came up. He was estranged from his family, so we found his sister on Facebook and wrote her. She went to see him and said she hadn’t seen him in years, but it was good to see him. He was 66 or 67 years when he died, but spent the last 12-15 years homeless. He drank 12-18 beers a sag and couldn’t hold a job or a place to live. He came from a well to do family. Alcohol can be the Devil drug for some people. It’s awful. I can drink and it won’t do that to me. It doesn’t make me feel angry. It makes me giddy and happy. I don’t crave alcohol and don’t have to have it. I just noticed when I do drink alcohol, it doesn’t run or ruin my life. It’s difficult to understand how alcohol affects some people so badly. It’s sad.

I knew some solid humane stimulant addicted people, users are not all monsters!
My father also passed from alcohol. He started drinking at 9 he said, was terribly abused in foster homes on the reservation we are part of (me, too, eventually) and he only quit after going to jail for abusing my best friend at the time, and when he was out on probation or whatever, in total I think 9 years, with one relapse a couple years in, so less than that. The HOUR he was finally off of that, he was drunk. Didn't see him for a few days until my brother called and started with "please don't get mad, but..." Our relationship was complicated, and due to his alcoholism our lives were completely thrown into chaos, he would throw me under the bus to continue his "lifestyle", he just would rent a room, full if dirty dishes, garbage, a bed with no mattress that he almost started on fire a few times, and I don't know if he bathed with any sort of regularity. He had this smell...he was on disability so would just pay rent, spend very little on food, and pay the bar tab of the bar that contributed greatly to his disease. He worked cleaning mornings there, for beer. When he had money, he would get drunk in the morning, stumble home to sleep a bit, and go back in the afternoon to get drunk again. He quit going our nights cuz he got into all sorts of trouble. When a stranger found him, they took whatever cash he had first then called the cops. This was very early spring, and it was still cold out out. He was shirtless, had on one sock and shoe, and was in his neighbors back yard, cold and stiff. I sometimes wonder if his roommates, a couple I know that were alcoholics and users themselves and kinda shitty, had locked him out. They would message or call to complain of his actions but what could I do? Constant 72 hour holds? We tried that. If someone is intent on drinking or user, they will. Sorry for the length, I guess I haven't talked about his death much since it happened last March. He had a sorry life, and could just never pull out of it, and didn't want to.
Borderline personality disorder is often given to persons who have had trauma. What is actually needed is trauma-informed treatment, not that diagnosis.
This woman is just like my mom. She would act the same way on alcohol and off of it. My dad says it’s very easy to fall in love with a woman who holds life so tightly in her hands that it ends up squeezing through the cracks.

It’s good to hear that she hasn’t had any thoughts of self deletion because alcohol abuse and bipolar disorder is really a bad combination. I was told by my doctor that people with bipolar disorder delete themselves at a higher rate than even people with depression. I thought I had a lot of story’s. Everything she says sounds 100% believable too. When you’re on an absolute sick one ,it is crazy how much wild and random shit you go through and don’t die . I truly hope she can stay sober get into a program get counseling and share her experiences with others struggling. She has to manifest her success at sobriety . If that’s what she does . I would much rather cry out to God for help and guidance.

Pretty much everything she said sounds like a lie. Drinking a gallon of alcohol a day? Gunshot? Waking up in Chicago the morning after being in LA when it would take longer than that to drive there. It's all lies.

@@HvH420I have BPD and my stories sound made up as well.. thankfully I have witnesses to back up my experiences. When you’re using drugs and alcohol to numb you end up getting into really bad situations that involve violence, gangs, criminals, all sorts of bad people. I’ve looked death in the face a few times and shouldn’t have survived.. but I did. Also, she mentions cocaine.. which is a stimulant and you can drink a lethal amount alcohol with that combo.
My children’s mother has a similar story. I lost her to alcohol and bipolar and her extremely good looks are what feed her addiction

Girl I hear you, but give yourself grace because you're doing what all humans are wired to do: escape discomfort and seek rewards. Drugs and alcohol do this for you. Nobody gave you the tools you needed early in life to be able to cope with discomfort in other ways (and based on how they treated you, they also lacked coping mechanisms). None of this is your fault...you're simply having a normal human response to awful circumstances. It's never too late to gain those coping skills and repair the damage that was inflicted upon you, especially when you have so much insight already and are full of potential.

That’s what I lived with for 10 years it was like a roller coaster of terror. It’s always something bigger and better. Never satisfied! I was left emotionally and physically drained. 2 years later I’m still mending and don’t think I’ll ever date again. I’m happy and at peace

Just because you find yourself in some "professional's" office, and they "diagnose" you (especially if you are on drugs, lack of sleep, or other stressors), does not mean the diagnosis is accurate or permanent. I rarely encounter people who are as articulate, open-minded, and openly honest with themselves and others as Savannah is in this interview. We all walk our own paths, and fight our own demons, without exception.
I wonder if her diagnosis is accurate.
But I'm sure she has at least 5 of the 9 criteria for Borderline.
I wonder what subtype and why she doesn't want to learn about herself.
