Well each civ bot has a personality (ie Aztec is a backstabbing war mongerer) And gandhi always construcks nukes and always betrays you. Like you make friends with Gandhi. Then he declares war and NUKES!
Well i found out it is a glitch and was leaved in for fun.
Gandhi is one of the least deceptive and hardest to anger leaders. It's true that he builds a tremendous amount of nukes, but he only uses them if someone happens to anger him or declare war on him.
You forgot the I'm not invading you just building a road to your capital for no reason at all.

Fun fact: This was the Roman Strategy. They would build roads to enemy cities even before they conquered it to a point where it became a common thing and is mentioned by Rome’s enemies

Should be an option when people ask why troops are near their border.
Its so dumb when they ask it. If you say you're just passing then and then declare war you get diplomatic penalty for lying. If you say "You're right to worry and its time for you to die" you get diplomatic penalty for refusing to leave! So always start the war before getting your troops next to the borders if you care about diplomatic relations because that causes no penalty. Its dumb

yeah, right now as carthage i have guarded relations with austria who really wants my land, once i saw them with my armored elepehant inbetween our territories with 10 units i threw all shit on the border and prepared for war... what an awkward moment... they were just clearing barbarian's camp and when my elehpant stole the camp in front of them ( i Know a dick move) They all retreated to wien

+Stephen M. Stouter Same. If I see units start gathering near my borders, I hit first. If I see a settler come nearby, I capture it (free city!). Otherwise, they drop their city right on your border and steal resources and shit.
I have a theory: So, that scout has (most likely) been around for thousands of years. Discovering stuff is fun for him - why else would he be doing that for milennia? So, I think that he is secretly cooperating with other scouts around the world to make the empires fight each other, destroy each other and civilization, so that they can rediscover things for new empires. Why else would there be ruins when nobody was there before?
Interesting point. I like it. So that`s why one of my scouts "accidentally" attacked that german Giant Death Robot....

I think that the scouts let nations destroy each other than fall to revolts and corruption until there is nothing left than man years later new civilizations come again while the scouts are safe inside there under water city waiting to be recruited by the new civilizations to discover new things to improve prestige in the guild of scoutmasters

The Ottomans have a white border, right? If so, it would make sense that the gunner is from the Ottoman Empire because Catherine called her religion "Denouncing Venice". She could've spread it to the nearby warmongering Ottoman Empire of whom failed to keep his promise of attacking only Gandhi. I also think that the protesters from "We Love the King Day" are either from the Ottoman Empire before he agreed to only attack Gandhi or from India before he discovered nukes. This is because they say that they traded their spices away for iron to build more seige machines aka catapults which are primiative compared to Gandhi's nukes and Suliman's iPhone. Now to figure out where those scientists from "Science Victory" are from.
You should make one that involves players building monuments...but if someone else beats you into making that monument you just suddenly stop building it...imagine the poor workers

Melissa Jansen I remember building wealth in my capital once and then forgetting to switch to Sistine Chapel as soon as I researched acoustics. I thought "eh, missed 1 turn, big deal". And then an AI beat me to it by EXACTLY 1 TURN. You can just imagine someone walking in when Michelangelo was about to make a final stroke and saying "Yeah, you'll have to paint it over now, it's copyrighted".
BenGamin Yeah, I think a better approach would be to downgrade the wonder to a national wonder with decreased but still notable benefits if someone else finishes it first, but then prevent any other nation from building it.

It's bullshit though how only you can get a diplomatic penalty for doing the exact same thing the AI is doing. Am I just supposed to let them sneak-attack me?
I dunno about that one. Whenever an AI destroys another civ, he usually gets denounced by almost every other civ in my games.
For some reason that used to happen to me too, but after playing more recently the AI seem to declare war on each other more often than they ever did (I used to make it to modern era without ever seeing a war, even if I made it a domination game only).
But the AI still does this in minor appliances though.
The AI will promise to stop sending prophets etc. but then you see that your city has been converted. The AI literally doesn't give a shit. But if you break that promise, instant denounce and tension for war from every one of your borders.

Well... I usually never declare war on anyone, but always end up being attacked by everyone on the grounds that I am a warmongerer. Brazil always attacks me because I have more great people than them. China because I have more wonders, then the rest of the world because being attacked apparently makes me a warmongerer.
Yea it's bullshit, u can literally go the whole game not doing any harm and be called a warmonger because u have a good army that's only purpose is defence of your own land
Funny in my current playthrough as Austria i declared war on the Aztecs for sending their prophets, coverting one of my cities and refusing to stop. Same for the Germans, they expanded into a barren piece of land (as in 0 food production) just north of my border, a piece of land which i consider mine, but has no strategic nor economic value. Worst thing its not even their continent, they traveled half the world to settle on ice.
I dont play as a warmonger, but for me settling right next to my border or trying to convert my population to a foreing religion is pretty much a war declaration, and i respond with full strenght always.
I hate the Aztecs. I'm going through the game and the Aztecs keep stealing my tech and then they started converting my cities. I went to war, on land, I got pushed back, but on the sea, I took out their city, then proceded to attack their city-state ally in the south. Needless to say, I won

Yeah, happens a lot. Once, I played the Aztecs, started the first world religion, and then Carthage was like, 'No, your beliefs damns everyone to hell,' and sent prophet after prophet into my cities. Eventually, I got sick of it, and took all their cities, and began to convert their entire populace.
Two turns later, I was at war with the entire world...
I hate the idea of going to war over religion but the game gives you no choice. You need to maintain the highest score before the year 2050 hits.

I doubt it would make for a good video, but I had a tactic I called "The Iron Price". Where I would once in the modern era and beyond start selling iron, horses, and other strategic resources I didn't need to the AI who always value strategic resources even if they don't need them. So I would sell horses for cash to Civs who use tanks. It's pretty funny.

LMFAO 90% of my wars have started this way. It's easier to kill a settler and deal with a war than it is to let them build a new city and have to take that out in a future war 🤭
Except I am pretty sure in Civ5 you can declare war and capture the settler, even better! (Unless it is just settlers captured by barbarians first, been a long time)
Well, I guess there is no chance for this war to be *settled* peacefully.
This is why you protect the barb camps near your borders and let them capture enemy settlers that look to forward settle you
Civ 6 for me when not warmongering: 10% resource management. 10% Defense War. 40% chasing away religion. 40% chasing away settlers.
@@kaneconqueror6560 Modern problems require ancient solutions... Another benefit is that if you take the honour starter (and especially if you pick a civ that gets bonuses for barbarian kills) then you can farm xp, culture and whatever else off them quite easily with a few catapults/cannons/artillery.
The only problem is, barbarians end up becoming too useful while the AI tries to capture their camps, so you end up declaring war to protect your precious barbarian farms.
Wish there was more of this Civ 5 stuff, absolutely love it, makes me laugh every time.
And that subtle "Denoucing Venice" reference to the Gandhi video, amazing.
We'll be putting out two more before October! Then when Civ 6 is out, who knows.

The main thing I remember about that game is just how many Popes had to have 'accidents' before I could get an English Pope on the throne, and thinking how accurate it is - like Italy's had 217 Popes where England only ever had one. But, as with all politics, anything is achievable with enough skilled assassins.
