Hey all! Just wanted to thank you all for watching and make note that all footage regarding Fallout 1 and 2 has been generously provided by Star Marshal on TH-cam! Big thanks to him, and his channel link will be in the description. Also, someone pointed out that I left out the PC community in this video and I apologize for that. It’s become common for exclusives from both Xbox/PlayStation to also come to PC, so for my PC enjoyers out there please keep in mind that despite the fact I don’t say it verbally in the video, you are included in my opinions and y’all should have access to these titles as well.
No, we likely won’t recapture the magic of new Vegas but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve another shot. I believe they can still satisfy us with a new release!
@@magglespaffygaming I haven’t personally played Outer Worlds yet, but I’m probably going to. Also I think Avowed looks like a type of Skyrim type vibe but I could be wrong. All we can do is hope these developers do well, and give fair criticisms when they don’t
@@EanFox7 outer worlds was almost as good as new vegas just way to short. 30 hour game even with doing most side quest but i didn't have dlc though. i did genocide a whole npc town though. solid 8 game if you discount the shortness of it like a 7 if how short it is bothers you. solid $30 or less game.
@@Joker-no1fzas The Donald would say, WRONG. New Vegas is a good game that was a labor of love by many dev leaders passionate about fallout for a decade from 2 and Van Buren with heavy performance issues. Outer Worlds is a an empty soulless product made to keep Obsidian from going under before they had security in Microsoft
Guys, to save Fallout all you have to do is press Esc, and look for the Save Game option. After that, you can choose which slot to save in. Have a nice day!
Personally I am so done with remakes and remasters, I want new experiences. Feels like we've been living in nostalgia land for a decade, keep going this way and devs will get so lazy they'll never make actual new games again.
@@EanFox7 Skyrim to me is just Bethesda living in Nostalgia. Your comment about them believing their games live in their time while also re releasing Skyrim 6 times is just a joke at this point.
Sadly there is no more saving for Fallout universe. As painful as it sounds New Vegas will be forever the lightning in the bottle. There is reason I return to F1,F2 and New Vegas to replay them. Timeless classic that will be forever in my heart. ps. Wasteland 3 is pretty dope to so dont miss out on this game.
The Wastelands series is great. I think inXile could make an awesome remakes to the OG fallouts, using the new Wasteland games as inspiration. Although maybe I would prefer them to spend their resources on a new Wasteland title
I only recently played Fallout 1 and 2 for the first time and honestly, after you give yourself an hour to get used to the gameplay, you realise theyre easily the best games in the series. Espcially fallout 2 which is an absolute classic of a game. I really recommend anyone who is into the fallout series to give these games their fair chance.
I’m sure I’ll give them another go eventually. Their age definitely does not help them at first though! :P Great games without a doubt even though I had a hard time getting into them. I have a LOT of respect for those games and OG Fallout fans.
The classics are definitely not given enough love, I recently replayed 1 and was glued to my screen for hours like I was 15 again. That said, New Vegas will likely always be my favourite game of all time.
I wanted to play them so bad man. Like really. I just had a hard time, they’re ancient. But like I said I respect them a lot. NV isn’t my personal favorite but I assure you it is up there.
They are good but they are not THAT good in comparison to FNV The soundtrack alone pails in comparison, don't get me wrong, grungy is good and I like it as a style but when you are in klamath for an hour or 2 listening to the same exact track over and over again it turns my brain to sludge
In may 2021 I started to play the original Fallout and after some hours I really loved it. Since then I didn't just play Fallout 2, but I did so many runs on some total conversions (and now I started another one, Olympus 2207) and I love much more even New Vegas when I got all the things which make this "trilogy" so good: the freedom and the reaction of the worlds, either good or bad. Having said this, I think the only way for Fallout to bloom again is using all the today's high budgets and hardware to recuperate all that rpg elements that make me love these games. I'm tired to be an omniscient guy because I follow questmarkers that take me to the exact location of the useless radiant quest item, maybe in one of the 100 useless dungeons full of spongy enemies. I'd rather that in next Fallout my actions give me another dialogue or action choices like with the Master or Ulysses, or I want again a npc like Sunny Smiles who tell me where a town is using street signs, or use tools when my repair skill isn't enough, or be a caravaneer, a slaver, a gambler, all things that disappeared in Fallout 4. Game developers should give us these things again instead of a thousand dungeons full of bulletsponging monsters.
Couldn’t agree more. F4 lacked a LOT of what makes the series great and it suffered for it. Fallout games in the future need to have these elements to make the experience the best it can be
Even playing New Vegas on the Series X, where it boosts the fps to 60 makes this very old game feel very smooth and fresh. New graphics wouldn't have to be the best of the best, there's mods that have done this already, years ago...
It feels smooth and fresh, yes, but it’s still the same 2008/2010 releases full of bugs and unrefined gameplay. There are mods, I agree, but a lot of people that are into fallout now after those games came out may not even go back to try them let alone mod them.
@EanFox7 yeah I was making those points to say that I don't feel like it would take a ton of resources to remaster 3 or New Vegas. I don't know many that would still boot one of those up on a PC to go back in do that themselves. Just saying a slight graphic update and having 60 fps would be a great thing to have on the newest gen consoles.
Oh I couldn’t agree more. I think it’d be a pretty easy way to revitalize the hype around it all you know? I’d buy them in a heartbeat just to show my support for the franchise. I will say though, I do be loving the 60FPS boost for sure. Feels so smooth.
I understand where you're coming from with saying the Interplay Fallouts combat is dated but man oh man it felt like knives when you said it felt unengaging. Gaming has definitely evolved to be more immersive and in the moment, but I feel like both modern games and the older isometric ones are still incredibly intriguing to play, though they require a bit of a shift in how you think and react. Great video!
Hahaha sorry man, hope I didn’t offend your preferences. I was speaking from my experience. I really didn’t enjoy the combat system, but I’ve had a good few people tell me I should try them again which I’m open too. I just gotta try harder to learn the games. Eventually man, eventually. I still have great respect for them regardless. And thank you for your time :)
I was suprised to learn how divided the fallout community is. I am not sure what to expect anymore, but only time will tell if we will get another hollow game like Fo4 or F76 or something amazing like F2 or FNV. Can only hope for the best,
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a more divided community. Everyone has an opinion on which one is best, and it can be hard for people to agree on just 1
I disagree that F4 was refined combat, it was more simplified combat and no longer requiring you to up your skills and perks that improved your shooting.
@@EanFox7 If you install the *"B42 Weapon Inertia" mod* you'll have the only thing F4 does better, but in NV aswell. Add in some *weapon animation mods* also and you get a superior experience to F4's. F4 takes away *CND* so you can't shoot guns off of spongy legendary enemies that magically get their HP back _(such a dumb enemy concept),_ the *crippling system* has been reduced to nothing turning combat into just headshotting for more damage and you heal limbs immediately after combat, the *skill system* has been removed entirely meaning you always have perfect accuracy and guns don't require a certain amount of skill or strenght to use properly, *ammo types* (AP, HP) have been removed and, the most perplexing of all, YOU CAN'T THROW *GRENADES IN VATS* (WHY?). _F4's gunplay is overall far too simplified for me to really enjoy it._ If NV ever gets a remaster I hope they'll keep all the original mechanics and add things like F4's power armors, but without fusion cores (since in NV the PAs are much rarer than in 4) and other things in a way that would *complement NV's gameplay, **_not simplify it._* On a side note: *I really hope F4NV turns out well and be more Fallout New Vegas than Fallout 4.*
I agree and well said. It’s crazy to think there’s people out there who actually defend 76 and see the “simplification” in 4’s design as a evolution of the ip, versus what it actually is, a lack of effort. As for 1 and 2, I didn’t start playing them until over a decade ago and it took a few playthroughs to get used to the ui, but once familiarized and even not, they are awesome games worth revisiting.
Theres literally nothing wrong soth fallout76, this bandwagon hate is completely unwarranted and has no grounds, its a great game all around and it has many elements that literally everyone has been begging for for years but because its „muhhh new game muhh bethesda bad“ people hate it for no reason
@@HitachiTRQ-225 Buddy, this is the kind of mentality that will KEEP the gaming industry producing half-baked messes of games like 76. If you honestly believe what you typed, you clearly didn't follow the hype before release or development when it did release, that game was a dumpster fire from the word go. I was definitely being gentle in the previous comments above, people can play whatever they want, but being blatantly ignorant to a game purely designed for micro transactions and subscription payments, that's on you to realize, lmao.
I appreciate it. I really spoke from the heart from this one, I know my fellow fallout fans have not been happy with the way things have been. I’ll keep that in mind, I’ll have to do more like this in the future!
i just found your channel today and wow, i gotta say youve got the perfect voice and cadence for this type of content! i genuinely thought i was listening to a channel with 1m+ subs, heres hoping to your growth!
i recognize your points regarding XBOX and remasters, however the lack of POV for PC players such as myself and others really alienates a major part of the fallout community who've been keeping the games alive through websites like Nexus Mods. I have great respect for those who will speak for the console players, however it would be missing the mark to make fallout only associated with XBOX.
I should have included PC. All future Xbox titles are coming to PC, after all. So you are included in all of this. I just didn’t say it for whatever reason. Sorry about that! There’s always one thing I seem to miss lol
Honestly I don't think it's realistic to expect a 3D remake of the OG fallouts. They covered such a huge amount of space across the us that not only would it require an insane amount of work to make a game space that large but also it would require tons of new content to fill it compared to the small amount of game space the og fallouts actually had.
That’s a good point. Who knows? It could still happen though? From what I remember, most gameplay was in towns and random instances throughout the wasteland, not a large open world like fallout has today
Also, I don't think I want a direct sequel to New Vegas. But in an entirely different region. It's a big Wasteland and a lot of stories to be told all over the place. Pacific Northwest, Canada, Alaska, the South.
Well I think a direct sequel would be pretty cool. Like how 3 got 4, New Vegas could be it’s own line as well. Though I’d rather it take place somewhere in the west. We already know they won’t take the series out of the US.
Would be extremely interestinf to explore that occupied zone of canada and learn how it happens and learn story about canada and US and their neighbour relationship
Great video! I had a little bit of a laugh though when you said you don't want to be over 30 years old when you see the next game considering I'll be 29 this year and my first thought being "fuck yeah I'd like to see a new Fallout by next year!" I've been a fan of the series since the release of Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls since Oblivion and I can say that one thing I'd like to see make a return is the RPG mechanics that were mostly missing in FO4 and to some extent Skyrim. I don't think it has to be as in-depth as something like Morrowind where it uses dice roll mechanics, but maybe something closer to FO3/NV where you can invest in certain skills to achieve your build, as well as going back to that system of dialogue, even if it means recording a lot more voice lines in the process. Another thing I thought about is that since ZeniMax Media owns the ID Tech engine, they should make future Fallout games on that so the gunplay and visuals could be on par with Doom rather than trying to use the same engine as The Elder Scrolls when it already feels pretty broken for those games, let alone Fallout. It might take some time to build a new engine because of that, but I think the effort would pay off greatly. Also, the original Fallout games are fantastic and worth giving another shot if you have the time to really get into the gameplay loop!
That is actually a really good idea. Building a game off of the DOOM engine. I think that could provide some pretty good results in all honesty! Also I couldn’t agree more about those RPG mechanics. They’re what made 3 and NV great so they MUST make a return in the next title! It’s a major part of the formula. I’m glad you got a kick out of that. I’m only 24, so I’ve got my fingers crossed xD. I’ve had a few people recommend I try them again. I’m sure I will someday. The combat is what really pulled me out of it, I just didn’t like it all that much.
Hahaha. I’m glad to see someone else agreeing with me as well! Thanks for watching, it means a lot :) here’s hoping we can get a release of some sort in the next couple of years or so.
Fantastic Video. Really enjoyed watching your dead space remake review and this one. Have you ever thought about doing live streams to discuss topics like these perhaps?
No matter how much I'd love a fo3/nv remaster, I do kinda understand the sentiment pushed by Todd. The grimy and understated visual/art style of those games really adds to the general atmosphere, and under a remaster that'd probably be wiped out in favour of the polished and poppy style of fallout 4, which (imo) would be a huge loss. In fallout 3 especially, that atmosphere is really what makes the game, and 4's art style just kills it.
Bethesda only cares about making a "funny shoot shoot" game. It could be seen in Fallout 4, even though it isn't a bad game or bad fallout, you could see that they wanted to show "funny pew pew armor and monster" at the start of the game, the fight at Concord is stupid and its only point is for that. In Fallout 76 they went all in and completely destroyed the "fallout-ness" of fallout, they just want to make endless Call of Duty copies for cash grab.
I agree about Fallout 4. It is worth noting though that they did great imo with Fallout 3. I don’t believe that means they should be written off. They do own the series after all, so they’re going to be making more in the future anyway
11:28 You should have really left off the end of that sentence "...other than Bethesda". There is no better choice than Obisidian. They are the best option, for sure.
@@EanFox7 oh don’t get me wrong, they did a great job by introducing it to a much larger audience, adapting it to a third/first person fps and providing an unparalleled detail in the world design… but I can’t see anything else that’s really all that good about it. There’s only about 3 good quests, the main story is so juvenile(no pun intended) and simple and they literally had to amend it because so many people complained. Granted, the stuff they do well, they really knock out of the park (looking at you Tree-Form-Harold and his merry band of tree huggers), I just wish they put some more emotionally, morally and politically deep quests in the game, a la New Vegas and it’s rich companions, quests and factions.
Can’t believe we have to wait until the 2030s for a Fallout 5. Seriously Bethesda needs to either fix the animations, the npcs, and graphics, but also gameplay and online server wise as well, or just shut down Fallout 76. Fallout 4 is better then Fallout 76, but I wish we got a Fallout 3 remake and Fallout: New Vegas remake, not remasters, remakes. New engine, better animation, better graphics, gameplay, and npcs. They could at least let a different studio to do a Fallout Spin-off or 2 while Bethesda works on Starfield and Elder Scrolls and possibly Starfield 2 if Starfield is a success then work on Fallout 5.
I think the idea of a Fallout New Vegas and 3 remaster could sale well and most definitely a 1 and 2 remake. The only thing I don't see happening is for the games to be exclusives but that's more a nitpick the anything. Great video.
I pretty much labeled them as exclusives is because Xbox is likely going to make a lot of Bethesda’s franchises into them imo. I know Starfield is, and it’s very possible that TES6 will be, so if it happened to fallout too I wouldn’t be surprised. But when I say “exclusive” I am including PC as all of their exclusives now go to PC too just like Sony. I just forgot to actually mention it lol. You on PlayStation? I appreciate you man, thanks a lot :D
Todd Howard has expressed he does not like fallout 3 and New Vegas, he hated the fact that New Vegas got so much hype even though they rushed the production of it and the upper employees in bethesda thought it would be a massive failure. Instead many consider it better than 3, making the people who were pompous look idiotic compared to a smaller studio that had much less time.
I’m not sure I’d say he doesn’t like Fallout 3. I’ve heard him speak very highly of it. It is his game after all. I can see Bethesda being a little booty tickled over NV’s success though, because you’re right, it is kinda regarded to be better. Even though I personally love them both the same.
Of course Todd loves every Bethesda project except the one that wasn't his baby. It blows my mind that the same dude who invented Morrowind also invented F76
You're a legend if you actually read every comment but dam bro I got 2 say that u are going 2 high up on TH-cam if you keep the Bethesda videos up bro u got a talent making videos
Hahahha I appreciate it man! If you look at the comments, I have responded to basically every single one hahahah. I try man, a channel is nothing without the people who watch and give feedback. Thanks a lot man! I hope you’ll be part of the journey :)
I've played 76 for about 100 hours, enjoyed like a single player game, did a lot of missions than forget about the game. Maybe is time to take a look on the new content
I tried the game a few months ago, and it still didn’t feel right. Maybe once it’s all done with, I can take a look back at it. Or if you all want to see that, I’d be happy to give you all that content as well.
would be really cool if they hired the modders doing the f03/nv remakes, pay them standard pay for all the hours they've put in and then continue and release them as remakes
@@EanFox7well there’s a difference, the main issue with the frontier was the writing, and as the remaster projects are remakes there wont be any player worship or deathclaw sex, and the worst we’d get would probably be something like the gta definitive collection from a while back
The only problem with the whole "Give Fallout back to Obsidian" Thing, is none of the people who developed or worked on Fallout: New Vegas work there anymore. So it won't be "that" team. It will be another one. Outer Worlds proved that to me.
Well, if it stays with Bethesda full time, we won’t get another entry for another 10+ years. We won’t get another New Vegas, but I’m cool with giving them another shot.
@@EanFox7 "From the original creators of Fallout" "From the developers of Fallout New Vegas" Those lines were in the big announcement trailer for The Outer Worlds, they were used with intent, to make it seem like it was going to be a spiritual successor to New Vegas.
I hate this constant idea that magically Obsidian will fix things. When FNV was made, the studio had 70% of the original creators. Since then, we have less than 20% of the original creators there and many important ones are gone. A company doesn't produce good things because it's *that* company, it makes good things because of the creative minds that make up the studio. This is no different than wanting Bungie to make new Halo games. I get the sentiment as I'd love for another fantastically written game like FNV, but that was lightning in a bottle that simply cannot be done again. We had our chances with that a decade ago when they were supposed to make more Fallout games, but Bethesda jipped them over a .1-2 score off. The only way I could be convinced it'll be genuinely good, is if they pulled Chris Avellone back onto the team for the title. But they more than likely won't as he left that team with total disdain due to the management (that still resides there). Lets be real too, it'll be unlikely they'd rehire Chris again due to the previous libelous controversies surrounding him, despite the fact he won in court against it.
I didn’t say I wanted another New Vegas. Like I’ve said 30 times to others in this comment section, yes, NV was lightning in a bottle but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worthy of getting another shot at it and trying to give us a new game. “The team isn’t the same so why bother” isn’t a solution.
@@EanFox7 I'm not saying to make another NV. I'm just saying I doubt the ability to make something on that quality level. It'll likely be a better RPG than Bethesda's writing skills but I just don't hold confidence in it being impressionable, given what The Outer Worlds amounted to, among other things. Alas, I don't really want more games as I don't want to squeeze out more titles I will be sour over. It's same thing with Halo, I wish it remained dead so it isn't a negative memory to look back upon.
The writing staff at obsidian would give us fallout outer worlds edition. Thats exactly what became of obsidians skyrim, 'avowed', as its just outer worlds medieval. The people that made FNV are long gone
Imagine a fallout game taken place during the WW1 era with future tech, a generation that never moved on but did tech wise. Something like wolfienstien
@@EanFox7 yeah 100% it’s def not a fallout game but If you really think about it. Fallout was never really fallout. They made it into a 50s game even tho new Vegas is the closest 3D game to fallout 1 and 2 …. Think about that
@@EanFox7 well true true but new Vegas is the closest to the original games. I played them as a kid despite me still being in my teens. Fallout was never based mostly on that but more in a dry weather. But 100% I agree with everything. I don’t wanna he 26 waiting for a new fallout game because the only games I want to really release is gta 6, red dead 3 because I love red dead 1 and 2, and fallout 5 and elder scrolls 6
@@EanFox7 Firstly if microsoft really wanted to capitalize on the fallout IP the easiest thing for them to do would be making letting inxile make an isometric game similar to wasteland 3. I hate to be an elitist but it's making me cringe how scared you are of a good CRPG considering the genre recently has gathered some popularity, I played through fallout 1 and 2 multiple times and had no issues with them, the games could definitely do with some better controls and combat but for me that's all that is required for a remake. I loved wasteland 3 and enjoyed it more than fallout 4 for example so I wouldn't mind inxile making a remake. A 1st or 3rd person game would still be cool in my opinion but there's another point I'd like to add here. I don't really like remakes, if they're really gonna make a whole 1st or 3rd person experience I'd much preffer if they spent that effort and time into a whole new game rather than a game that I have allready played plenty of times. To say that top down games are easier to make is debatable but if so, I'd preffer a remake to be just that so it takes less time and we can sooner have a new fallout game. Anyways what my original comment meant to say is that I'd like a fallout game produced by Inxile and obsidian together. inxile is working on an FPS game right now so there's no reason to assume they will only work on top down games.
I rather have a more grim/dark humour FO like 1 and 2, and in my opinion they deserve a revival with better world building, I remember Wolfenstein New Order and Death Loop, both had the perfect art style, the irradiated NY in WNO is way better than anything done in FO, that kind of stuff with FO1 and 2 story would be awesome.
I see a lot of hate about The Outer Worlds, its wasnt supposed to be Fallout 5 in space. It was literally a AA game made by Obsidian with no funding. Lets not forget they worked on the South Park games and they were amazing.
Fallout 3 definitely needs a remaster it’s hideous but the art style is amazing to me but god it looks and plays ruff I don’t think it needs a fallout 4 style update but a slight remaster
I am the only person and Classic Fallout fan who dont like the Modoc music and i had to listen to it the whole video. Other than that I agree with you in most cases and liked the content keep up the good work!
Absolutely loved the video and your opinions especially on wait times for games. I’m all for making sure shits good to go before it’s released but Skyrim came out over a decade ago. The fact that I was a little kid and now im in my mid twenties is absurd 100% agree take advantage of resources start pumping content out. (As long as there’s good quality control) couldn’t agree more on letting obsidian make more fallout games too. NV is just as much a Fallout game as the rest of them and a lot would argue it’s the best….and if Starfield is good won’t they want a sequel for that? When would that come out? 15 years from now? It’s ridiculous and should be honestly unacceptable especially at this day and age.I’m really hoping your right about taking advantage of resources….I would definitely purchase a fallout NV and Fallout 3 remastering
I’ll have to look into them. I’m sure there are still people out there that enjoy those kinds of games, I’m just not typically one of them. The older Fallout titles definitely need to be updated though.
@@EanFox7I think it's just how dated something like fallout 1 and 2 are, their story is fantastic especially 1 but a lot of things that are a given now aren't in there. There is a fallout 1 modding project fo4 though so look out for that if it ever releases it might not but there is a chance. There are probably also some fo1 mods out there that upgrade and give it more modern mechanics.
I’m aware of the mod, but tbh I’m looking for an actual Bethesda release. I think it’s great that people are able to mod and create these sort of things on their own, but I feel like the vision of the studios themselves just hit different if that makes sense. Though, if there are mods out there that modernize the originals in their own right, I think that’s great. I just have a hard time getting into it like I said.
@@EanFox7 most games 25 years old are going to feel outdated. It's like they are one of those genres that companies just decided nobody wanted, like survival horror or adventure. Until people took a chance and brought them back. A modern one like Disco or Divinity are going to have much better UI and onboarding, etc
@@SamButler22 like I said I’ll have to give those titles a look. Before you, I’d never heard of them. But if they were to remake those games, would you want them to be isometric or first/third like they have been since 3?
I enjoyed this video. I’ve been trying to get into Fallout 76 but the online game vibe doesn’t work for me with this franchise. It’s a very personal, immersive experience… online play - even solo - doesn’t work for me. You KNOW you’re in a game, not a living and breathing persistent world like the other offline titles. I will probably still explore 76 for the lore - and I have no issues with fans of the game - but for me… yeah.
As both a huge elder scrolls fan and a huge fallout fan. Im in great pain. Im going to have my phd in physics before elder scrolls 6 comes out and i fucked around for a few years after highschool before college.
I couldn’t agree more man hahaha. It’s been too long since the last Elder Scrolls and Fallout as of now is headed down the same path. Time to hunker down, and hold on lol
Fallout is a damn RPG, they are trying to turn it into a shooter. They should look at fallout 1 and 2 and tactics and new vegas. All other fallout sucks.
It's easier to trust a remaster than it is a remake when I look at it. They cant remaster Fallout New Vegas or 3 because of how outdated the gamebryo engine is so they would have to build it from the ground up basically a remake. Now something I would hope in any fallout remake is that the story and scripts stay relatively the same or at least tell the same story without deviation. A good idea for the remakes is adding new locations in empty spaces or locations like the cut buildings that were replaced with ruins outside of the strip. To walk around Shady Sands, Necropolis, or The Hub in Fallout 4s engine would be amazing.
Sadly the reason they keep using 76 is that it has 15 million players and makes them so much money that they don’t want to stop supporting it and let anther fallout game happen. Because that will not be as profitable for them.
That’s 15 million total since it released though, not concurrent. They use that number to falsely make people think the title is more successful than it really is. Xbox has said that 76 has a low priority community because of how little people still play it.
@@EanFox7Chlockwork look like peak steampunk. As for the second game - its supposed to be set in the established ip and some speculate that it might hopefully be an isometric Fallout game using the Wasteland 3 engine
@@TheTytan007 it did look great. At the start of the reveal I was like meh but by the end I was like that’s really interesting looking! I hope it turns out to be great. @@EanFox7 Brian Fargo apparently got pretty excited for Microsoft buying Bethesda and I wouldn't be suprised if he wanted to return to the franchise before he retires. @@TheTytan007 honestly man I think the chances are good. Here’s hoping. If all else fails, like another commenter said, we can take over the government and force them to make a new entry LMAO
@EanFox7 it's would be such easy money. They have already proven you can repackage and resale the same game a half dozen times for a decade and people will still buy it. So just give us some complete editions with all the dlc and modsupport, and milk it for another ten years.
👍A nice take on the state of the fallout franchise. The point you made @ 3:10 to 3:32 about being dragged out & shot is both hilarious and sad. But the truth non the less. At that point I suspected it was going to be hard to watch the rest of the video. Because sometimes the truth sucks. Upon founding out about Microsoft, I was one of the many idiots who thought they were going to clean sh!+ up... eh😒. The biggest lies are the ones we tell ourselves.
We can dream. We also gotta scream from the mountain tops that this franchise deserves better. I’m glad you got a good laugh out of that and Thank you for watching :)
Obsidian isn't what it used to be, in my opinion a fallout spinoff should be made by InXile who made wasteland, was founded and still lead by Brian Fargo, and under Xbox ownership
Some others have suggested other isometric games as well. It’s just not what is the standard these days, but I feel I was wrong to just outright say it’s not viable and unengaging.
@@nicholasbatty8923 no I wouldn’t hahaha. I mean nobody can deny that a first person/third person Fallout 1 and 2 would be AWESOME! And thank you very much, I greatly appreciate your support.
A SP w/co-op mode is precisely what the community itself had been requesting for years. Instead, they got a skinner box, microtransaction, grind-by-design nightmare and, initially, a PvP no less. Executives from Xbox to Viacom to Bethesda couldn't have proven themselves more out of touch with the core appeal of Fallout if they'd tried. “I think we were a little surprised how few people wanted to take part in PvP and how many more were interested in PvE together,” said Pete Hines of the whole affair. Really? And how is that, Pete, especially considering the uproar among developers in Bethesda's own offices over the ill-advised plans for 76. The game world itself...sans Bethesda's signature, aggravating and annoying NPCs and meaningless "expansions" (Wastelanders, Steel Dawn/Reign, etc.) -- is actually among the best Bethesda's artists and developers ever have produced. It's not beyond salvaging, but I very much doubt that will ever happen. It's accomplished what they intended it to accomplish. They wanted a casino; they got a casino; and as long as it's paying dividends, nothing will change.
I was introduced to fallout with fallout 4 back when it came out and since then have been a pretty big fan mostly loving the lore, I played fo2 and new Vegas as well as 4 and 76 and i honestly think 76 gets a bit more hate than deserved i actually really enjoy playing it, not only did i have way more problems with glitches and crashes on new Vegas than i ever had with 76 (and i played at launch) i also feel alot of people just say its bad because thats what other people say without even playing it As you level up in 76 your play style will probably change because once you become high level you will mostly be grinding new events for new stuff or building camps or whatever but if you choose to do so and play through the games missions normally it's really not that different than the other 3D fallouts, i personally enjoyed the game better with no npcs, but it got even closer to that with their inclusion, ill admit the storyline definitely isn't special but it's not really supposed to be as its an online title meant to be more sandboxy rather than world changing questlines, its not special or groundbreaking but definitely doesn't deserve all the hate imo and theres actually quite a few storylines that are really cool like the van lowe quest or Rose's quest it honestly feels exactly what you would expect from a modern fallout in terms of npc related stories definitely falls behind in the grand "end goal" story though just like fo4 did I definitely hope Bethesda doesn't focus completely on the game as much but definitely don't mind new updates either DEFINITELY dont wanna wait 10 fuckin years for the next one tho tf
Funny thing, I play fallout exclusively on Xbox now but the first time I ever played 3 and new vegas was on a PlayStation 3 and I had played the PC versions before too. I’ve never really considered it an Xbox exclusive.
@@EanFox7 I agree with that, although I thought the way of console and PC exclusives was starting to become a thing of the past. I’ve just seen many other videos of people ranting how Xbox and Sony have no purpose in having separate consoles anymore if they don’t have console exclusives. It’s why Microsoft came out and personally said that they have lost the console wars entirely. And I own a series S.
Yeah I think exclusives should stay exclusives too, but I’m not sure how letting PC players get the games as well will hurt the consoles. I still wouldn’t go get a $4 thousand pc just to play the last of us. I’m sure they’ve done their research on it before making a decision like that
Two issues First I love FO3 the most, but I would be very nervous about a remaster. FO3 had a hybrid system between a level list and level zone enemy spawn system. Most RPGs only have one either a level list like Oblivion or Level zone like every RPG from New Vegas and Skyrim onward has used a Level zone system. FO3 magical Chaos anarchy, and violence of FO3 is in it's unique random spawn system... I think it would get screwed up. The other issue I have with this video is it's all about consoles. Most of Bethesda's fan base is on PC, where most of their modders are. Xbox is losing the consoles wars bad but Microsoft still has plenty of life on PC gaming. PC gaming is fundamentally superior to consoles in virtually every way but.. Consoles are plug and play with a full warranty. I'm wondering is Microsoft would ditch Xbox all together and make PC gaming take over completely. I have a NES, SNES, N64, and PS2. I have also been playing PC games since windows 3.1. When PS3 was released I was offended that system existed in the first place. It was disgustingly over priced, and after they stopped producing the original 60gb hard drive it lost its back compatibility with PS2. The main reason I switched from Nintendo to Playstation was for back compatibility and they axed it. Not to mention that the games were more expensive on console. Consoles have been a rip off for a long time now compared to PC, more expensive games with inferior systems. It baffles me how they have stayed alive all these years, but then agian people pay for Micro transactions, then complain about micro transactions. These companies are not going to stop their cash grabbing ways if the cash grab keeps working. Now that there are actual back lashes against these cash grabs it will likely take down consoles all together. Since they have been the biggest cash grab for a long time.
I personally didn’t mind the way leveling/enemy scaling worked in Fallout 3. Especially since at max level there were only like 3 enemies that were tough to kill at that point. Yeah, consoles have held back games over the years but they’re a major part of the industry as they’re affordable to most people. I know I didn’t include PC in the video, but they are included in what I mean to say. Please refer to my pinned comment about that!
They have to just look at new Vegas and build a modern version off of everything that game does right. You can do anything and ect. All the quests and options. Even though the game play was not the best and most polished, it really did so much right. Same with fallout 1. Also, adding multiplayer to those games would be great. Not the shitty way 76 did, but basically like every other game does it where you can just play together and you do the same quests and ect. Just like how grounded for example did it. Both players can interact with characters and the game continues together and the story is the same ect but obviously you play off the host.
I do want them to remaster 3 and New Vegas, I also want fallout 5 now only to be a new location but also have entirely new factions and creature cuz i think the brotherhood, super mutants, deathclaws etc are overused you just be nice to have like you know they're not the only people and creatures in the world
The way to save Fallout is you let Obsidian make their Fallout spinoff game since Todd Howard’s wants to do 5 himself. Which is fair enough he bought the franchise. But let Obsidian make their game; their way. If it’s a isometric RPG then it’s a isometric RPG. If it’s a New Vegas 2 then so be it. They want to make it so let them. They have a huge amount of passion for the franchise. And created for many their favorite Fallout game. It’s ridiculous to let people wait for 10+ years for anything Fallout just because you are working on other titles first. It’s almost as if Bethesda holds a grudge for not getting the same amount of praise for their games like New Vegas did. Then at the same time you release the Fallout TV show and make sure it’s high quality. And if you don’t want to take the risk with Obsidian since a lot of people left the studio already. Then let Larian studio do it. That way you’ll be sure that you’ll be getting a GOTY level game. Also I don’t think Fallout 3 or New Vegas need remasters. The game is playable on any Xbox or PC. And if a remaster would become available I doubt it would even launch on PlayStation. A Switch version would be nice though. A Fallout 1/2 remake in the same style would be pretty amazing though.
I agree with everything you have to say aside from not needing the remasters. But you’ve pretty much hit the nail on the head! I don’t really have anything else to add :) thank you for sharing your time :D
76 is a very fun game, but you can tell it was under developed and too big of an idea for a smaller studio (it wasn’t developed by the main Bethesda one). Like it was already gonna be rocky because they tried to make an mmo while keeping the exact gameplay of fallout 4, which doesn’t mesh well with an mmo setup. It just felt like Fallout 4 with less opportunity to get cool loot and do some memorable quests. I will say I liked the setting and locations more than 4, but again there wasn’t a lot of stuff to do in these new cool locations. Now I don’t really think Obsidian would work on a fallout game again until Todd retires. He seems like he wants Bethesda’s main games to be developed in house now. And I don’t think there’s gonna be any executive decision from Microsoft that changes that. It is a shame because I love the setting and story of the og Fallouts and NV, but the fact we even got NV is a miracle.
Not all of 76 is bad, I just think the game overall is bad. I agree with what you said about it. I don’t think obsidian will be making a new game any time soon either… but we can hope.
Obsidian is a shadow of their former self. They would make a better game than bethesda but they dont have good narratives anymore. They lost most their good writers
That’s what some people have said. Regardless, I feel they should try again. NV was lightning in a bottle but that doesn’t mean we still can’t get a good game from them
@@EanFox7 i know. Josh Sawyer could lead a game, and may even Tim Cain. Perhaps there is a spark left in one of them for the franchise. But their recent games haven't had that quality
@@dysonwitwer6430 well like I’ve said to some others, it’s easier to work on an established franchise with established lore than to create a whole new one. So I have faith in them.
The people at obsidian are not the same who made New Vegas. New Obsidian did Outer Worlds, the very definition of the word "mid". They are not equipped to handle Fallout. What Microsoft should do is get the old guard under one umbrella and have them handle the ip.
Like I’ve told others who pointed out the same thing, it’s easier to work on an established franchise than to create a whole new one. Not ever new IP is going to be a banger. I think they could do another Fallout game well. We still have Josh Sawyer, who can lead the project.
@EanFox7 it can be if there was extremely creative minds behind it. Fo76 is great in concept but God there's so little to do. I hate how the first non lore based city is a damn expedition. I ran through it and enjoyed myself right before they introduced the Pitt but found out it wasn't an expansion then just quit.
Im an old head and played F2 on launch. My opinion: the best thing for the franchise is to leave it alone. I know ill catch tons of flack for this, but even NV isnt all that great to me. A lot of fallout players give it a pass bc of how they feel abr F4 and F3. The stockholm syndrome is real
Ahh an OG fan huh lmao. Hey man I won’t give you no flak. Your opinion is your opinion. It’s surprising to say you don’t like NV as an OG fan! I personally loved 3 and NV, 4 not so much. Thanks for sharing
From the OG’s that’s what I hear. That Fallout 2 was the peak. I honestly can’t protest nor agree, because I personally couldn’t get into them. I loved 3, loved NV, and didn’t like 4 much. As you can tell from the video, I didn’t like 76 at all hahahah
To be fair, Obsidians releases since Fallout New Vegas have me doupt they really have what it takes, and did not just get really lucky once. The Outer Worlds is just mediocre, and I would say Tyranny is just plain bad. I have not played any other of their games, though. Also, they are working on their own titles now, so i don't know if they can spare the manpower to work on a Fallout game.
That’s what others have said. I haven’t played Outer Worlds, but I’d like to. Honestly I don’t think they’d make another lighting bottle like NV was, but it’s worth a shot. I think once they’ve got Avowed out of the way that team will likely be put onto a new project, which I hope is Fallout.
I refuse to even ACKNOWLEDGE the existence of Fallout 76. Im still playing New Vegas, which got me to playing Bethesda's versions and then Fallout 1 and 2. I have Fallout 3 uninstalled and Fallout 4 heavily modded to be an ACTUAL Fallout game, crossed over with Metro and STALKER elements. Bethesda has wasted the License.
3 and NV are my favorites. That’s 2 of 4 games that were bangers imo, so I wouldn’t necessarily say they’ve wasted it. They just have a 50% success rate so far
I’ve said this since 76 came out and ruined the series that if they wanted to coke back they need to remaster F1 and 2 as a FPS I think it would bring back old fans, and give new fans a chance to try those games. Idk I could be the only one who wants this but we can only guess and hope
Sure, the other games are still loved but it killed the reputation of the series. Until the next game comes out, people will be reminded of the most recent release being a total crap shoot
Ok... maybe I'm spoke to soon... Skyrim remasters were actually discent, but still - I want them to make something new not to repeat the same over and over.
To assume that every remaster to be released would be terrible because a couple of others were in the past would be like saying all future game releases will be terrible because a game you like from last year was terrible. I can see being skeptical of a specific company like Blizzard because they’ve proven to have a terrible track record, but with Bethesda, despite the fact that they’ve re-released it 6 times, it’s still a good remaster.
I actually agree with Todd about not wanting to remaster Fallout 3 and new Vegas. The age really does give it a nice charm compared to fallout 4. I honestly think the art style of fallout 4 is really lame, it has this high tech futuristic 1950s retro look to it that just doesn’t fit with the fallout world when compared to the older games before it The art style in 3 and NV makes the world actually feel dark and gritty and more grounded
They’d just have to keep the same art style. I mean if they were going to change the art style that drastically it’d just be a remake. We want a remaster. I don’t think it’d be that hard to maintain the atmosphere that way
Great Video, I feel like that a remaster of fallout 3/new Vegas would help bring new life into the franchise, 76 fells like it’s on life support can has turned off a large portion of the fandom and casual gamers as a whole. A remake of fallout 1 and 2 would be great, this could be a great opportunity for Xbox and Bethesda to return to this ip with great success. Elder scrolls 6 will likely release nearly 20 years after Skyrim that in insane and should not let people wait that long. Fallout something to happen to in order to get on track, 76 left a bad taste in peoples mouth and the wait for fallout 5 being for 10+ years is not good for the ip. I feel like a remaster would drive up hype and then announce a new game under obsidian or another developer and help this franchise alive until fallout 5 comes out. I can only hope someone at Xbox or Bethesda sees this video a could get the ball rolling on something to revive this franchise from the dead.
F76 is a great game, Cope & Seethe
@@noirknight9770 that’s your opinion. I believe it is not.
People don’t realize that obsidian isn’t the same company as it was in 2008-2010. There’s no recapturing that lightning in a bottle.
No, we likely won’t recapture the magic of new Vegas but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve another shot. I believe they can still satisfy us with a new release!

I don’t blame ya man. I was just suggesting they get more love like Skyrim has.
@@EanFox7 Skyrim to me is just Bethesda living in Nostalgia. Your comment about them believing their games live in their time while also re releasing Skyrim 6 times is just a joke at this point.
@@anthonyjames9150 it is a joke. And it’s hypocritical lol
New shit fucking blows. Id rather play NV on my pc for 10 minutes without crashing and having it look good too.
If they stopped making new games, the series would become more irrelevant than ever
I don’t think that’s the case. Yeah New Vegas was lightning in a bottle but that doesn’t mean that they can’t make another good fallout game
"The classic" Ah blinded nostalgia reak of the ob-siml-dian ideologue.
They are good but they are not THAT good in comparison to FNV
The soundtrack alone pails in comparison, don't get me wrong, grungy is good and I like it as a style but when you are in klamath for an hour or 2 listening to the same exact track over and over again it turns my brain to sludge
I meant in terms of like the shooting and such. It just felt better
_F4's gunplay is overall far too simplified for me to really enjoy it._
If NV ever gets a remaster I hope they'll keep all the original mechanics and add things like F4's power armors, but without fusion cores (since in NV the PAs are much rarer than in 4) and other things in a way that would *complement NV's gameplay, **_not simplify it._*
On a side note: *I really hope F4NV turns out well and be more Fallout New Vegas than Fallout 4.*
Even though I still kinda like 4, it doesn’t hold a candle to 3/NV. I’ve had a few people recommend I try again on the old ones. I will someday
@@EanFox7 4 had one good playthrough in it for myself, it isn't a bad game, just a boring Fallout.

Thank you so much! That means more than you know. I really put a lot of heart into this video. I appreciate you for lending me some of your time :D
i recognize your points regarding XBOX and remasters, however the lack of POV for PC players such as myself and others really alienates a major part of the fallout community who've been keeping the games alive through websites like Nexus Mods.
I apologize for not including that POV in the video. But PC is included like I said since you’ll be getting Xbox titles as well.
Most of the content was around small areas of interest so these areas could be split into many small maps in 3D instead of one massive continuous map.
"patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter"
Patrolling this dead franchise makes me not wanna wait till the 2030’s for another entry

I will too, but that doesn’t mean I wanna wait that long! Hahahha
@EanFox7 Technically Canada is a part of the US. So, maybe Canada? Lol
True they did invade Canada in the lore
Would be extremely interestinf to explore that occupied zone of canada and learn how it happens and learn story about canada and US and their neighbour relationship
I thought the US took over all of Canada
Great video! I had a little bit of a laugh though when you said you don't want to be over 30 years old when you see the next game considering I'll be 29 this year and my first thought being "fuck yeah I'd like to see a new Fallout by next year!"
I've been a fan of the series since the release of Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls since Oblivion and I can say that one thing I'd like to see make a return is the RPG mechanics that were mostly missing in FO4 and to some extent Skyrim.

They’d just have to maintain the art style. All they’d have to do is fix bugs and improve the graphics to maintain the atmosphere.

I personally think Bethesda did really good with Fallout 3 but Obsidian is amazing too
@@EanFox7 oh don’t get me wrong, they did a great job by introducing it to a much larger audience, adapting it to a third/first person fps and providing an unparalleled detail in the world design… but I can’t see anything else that’s really all that good about it.
I couldn’t agree more. A remake or remaster is good either way, but remasters would be easier to get out.

You sir, are a true Samaritan
I think in the case of new Vegas it needs a remake rather than a remaster to add back in a lot of the cut content
I can see that case. I think it’s more likely a remaster would happen though. Technically both 3 and NV had lots of cut content.
would be really cool if they hired the modders doing the f03/nv remakes, pay them standard pay for all the hours they've put in and then continue and release them as remakes
Remember how Fallout Frontier ended up though
@@EanFox7well there’s a difference, the main issue with the frontier was the writing, and as the remaster projects are remakes there wont be any player worship or deathclaw sex, and the worst we’d get would probably be something like the gta definitive collection from a while back
The only problem with the whole "Give Fallout back to Obsidian" Thing, is none of the people who developed or worked on Fallout: New Vegas work there anymore. So it won't be "that" team. It will be another one. Outer Worlds proved that to me.

You’re really not missing much.

@@EanFox7 I enjoyed wasteland alot and alot more than fallout 4, I'd be very happy with polished top down fallout remake.
Maybe an isometric game would be easier to make. Even still, I’d rather have a full on 1st/3rd person remake
@@EanFox7 also I could argue that a modern 3d isometric game is more difficult to produce than an FPS

We will see with avowed if Obsidian still have the impactful story choices and level systems
Like I’ve said to some others, it’s easier to make a game in a universe with pre-established lore than to create a whole new one

Bro is underrated
I really appreciate that you have no idea

Honestly I still don’t even think I’d play it. The game just… doesn’t feel right.
I was introduced to fallout with fallout 4 back when it came out and since then have been a pretty big fan mostly loving the lore, I played fo2 and new Vegas as well as 4 and 76 and i honestly think 76 gets a bit more hate than deserved i actually really enjoy playing it, not only did i have way more problems with glitches and crashes on new Vegas than i ever had with 76 (and i played at launch) i also feel alot of people just say its bad because thats what other people say without even playing it
As you level up in 76 your play style will probably change because once you become high level you will mostly be grinding new events for new stuff or building camps or whatever but if you choose to do so and play through the games missions normally it's really not that different than the other 3D fallouts, i personally enjoyed the game better with no npcs, but it got even closer to that with their inclusion, ill admit the storyline definitely isn't special but it's not really supposed to be as its an online title meant to be more sandboxy rather than world changing questlines, its not special or groundbreaking but definitely doesn't deserve all the hate imo and theres actually quite a few storylines that are really cool like the van lowe quest or Rose's quest it honestly feels exactly what you would expect from a modern fallout in terms of npc related stories definitely falls behind in the grand "end goal" story though just like fo4 did
I definitely hope Bethesda doesn't focus completely on the game as much but definitely don't mind new updates either DEFINITELY dont wanna wait 10 fuckin years for the next one tho tf

It’s why Microsoft came out and personally said that they have lost the console wars entirely. And I own a series S.

a remake of the first 2 fallout game would be great i keep telling myself i will play them but they are hard to get into
I’m gonna try again. A lot of people have been recommending I do. I think it’s worth another shot
Two issues
First I love FO3 the most, but I would be very nervous about a remaster.
My buddy and I always wanted a co-op mode for 4 just like that. Sorta like Skyrim with friends! And I agree with you!
I do want them to remaster 3 and New Vegas, I also want fallout 5 now only to be a new location but also have entirely new factions and creature cuz i think the brotherhood, super mutants, deathclaws etc are overused you just be nice to have like you know they're not the only people and creatures in the world
Couldn’t agree more. This series needs a lot more NEW
The way to save Fallout is you let Obsidian make their Fallout spinoff game since Todd Howard’s wants to do 5 himself.
Fallout is a PC franchise first 2 entries in the series are PC exclusive.
Refer to pinned comment pls
I would KILL for remakes 🥺
Some remakes would be pretty amazing ngl
TES6 better have the entire multiverse as it’s map, taking this long like bruh
Hahahaha I don’t blame you for being frustrated
The people at obsidian are not the same who made New Vegas.
New Obsidian did Outer Worlds, the very definition of the word "mid". They are not equipped to handle Fallout.
What Microsoft should do is get the old guard under one umbrella and have them handle the ip.
Like I’ve told others who pointed out the same thing, it’s easier to work on an established franchise than to create a whole new one. Not ever new IP is going to be a banger. I think they could do another Fallout game well. We still have Josh Sawyer, who can lead the project.
76 has so much potential but if we are real there's not much background and lore to make a mmo.
It shouldn’t have even been an mmo
I do like NV the most out of the Bethesda fallouts I just hate that any critiques usually get met with vile outrage lol. Fallout 2 > everything though
I couldn’t agree more. Plus, the OG fans will always have those original games.
Saying that 76 have ruined the series Is just stupid. All the other games are still there and loved, it did not change anything
Sure, the other games are still loved but it killed the reputation of the series. Until the next game comes out, people will be reminded of the most recent release being a total crap shoot
I only touch 76 when I goof around with my homeboys
As good a reason as any tbh
Ok... maybe I'm spoke to soon...
I just wanna see NV on Xbox with all of its cut content. Is that too much to ask?
That’s a LOT of cut content
I am surprised they ain’t remastered 3 and FNV because it likely would sell a lot.
Like I said in the video, in the past it made sense. Not so much anymore
I actually agree with Todd about not wanting to remaster Fallout 3 and new Vegas. The age really does give it a nice charm compared to fallout 4.
I honestly think the art style of fallout 4 is really lame, it has this high tech futuristic 1950s retro look to it that just doesn’t fit with the fallout world when compared to the older games before it
The art style in 3 and NV makes the world actually feel dark and gritty and more grounded
I couldn’t agree more!
