Thank you very much once again. And am really grateful mostly about the recent videos, because they have really helped me to learn more intel about the BQ Chips and their involvement in charging the system battery. And I can't stop myself from being more grateful for ALL your videos, because I remember when I started to watch your videos like the previous year around August, i literally knew nothing about laptop PCBA ... I used to look at it as a green thing with many tiny components. But now I am glad I can understand some few things, because of your videos. I really want you to stay longer, and keep on uploading those videos because they are so helpful.
Great video i have a laptop with similar problem it just won't charge the battery, changed the bq chip but nothing changed hopefully this video will help me solve this issue in facing.
I realy appreciate the time and effort that you put into making these invaluable videos, but i still prefer and miss your un edited versions i.e real time videos. I miss your banter whilst you are finding and fixing faults and also its gives us a true idea of how long these repairs ACTUALY take. Thanks again.
Sorin, you can charge this battery with NLBA but, when you press charging, you must wait 20, 30 second and current will go up. I do this many times, just wait a little longer for it to start charging. Balance is not important fr charging
Thank you so much Sorin! you are an amazing teacher and am grateful that every day I learn new things from your videos. I would like to ask if there another cheaper alternative to this battery and good linear power supply. Am from Rwanda-Africa Thank you
Thanks once again for sharing your knowledge, Sorin. I have a question for you: do you think I can buy the Romanian NIP Embedded battery analyzer?. I'm in Madrid, Spain. There are too many times I saw you using it, and I find it extremely useful. TIA for your help.
Hello, capacitor gangster, lol, I didn't saw you measuring the gate of the replaced MOSFET, replace burned track and measured drain-source. Just to be sure that you have a higher resistance and not damage the MOSFET again.
i have been following your all this while practicing on my own. I have been a dell laptop that was coming on and off when it totally went off and not turning on, on power supply. what is the best way to that?
"We have a niiiice one, really nice laptop, this ones a customer job *bubbles the vape* HA Ha! That's crazzyyy lawl!" - Sorin Love the videos, always an interesting video from you Sorin!
Hello, I have a question, my laptop got some water on it and I tested this Parr not working. The part on the top have this numbers 820 NO3 CMI 0295 they look like mofset do you now where I can get the part?
Sir I have similar issue just like this. I have Dell Inspiron laptop in which if I connect the battery the laptop goes on, but if I connect the charger with the battery on, the charger light dies and it is not giving 19volts. But if the battery is out the laptop powers on with just the charger plugged in. What could be the issue here sir? Thanks.
i have same exact issue.. replaced charging port, battery and addapter still battery sits on 2% without progress.. my question is how much does this kind of repair cost?
Hey my laptop needs BQ 24780S ic chip replacement for my dell inspiron 7577 my laptop currently doesn't turn on the ic currently on looks damaged. My question is can I buy any BQ 24780S chip because i keep seeing difference in the rest of the number specification when i search for it on eBay and Aliexpress. For example the chip which is on my laptop is BQ 24780S TI something "can't clearly see the rest of the numbers" and CQ something "can't clearly see the rest of the numbers" but when i search for the Chip as BQ 24780S , there is BQ 24780S TI 540 C4TR also BQ 24780S TI 561 C4NN and other types. Can i buy any of these two and will it work as long as it is a BQ 24780S ?
two 830-grade multimeters*, a regulated power supply, a linear one, if you can get one, something like 20-25V/5A max, is ok, and a 60-70W soldering iron. table chair, a lamp... at least, some magnifying glasses, after a while, a microscope... and an laptop able to read pdf's and browse da internetz for datasheets, schematics and videos like this. * because sometime you want to check voltage and current same time, and sometime, the power supply ammeter is not sensible enough, or even it don't have one (like "laptop bricks"). also, as a newbie, is expected to do a lot of mistakes, so, if you fry one, you can try to repair the other one... after you buy another 830. they are cheap and decent enough! good luck. :)
Need to be careful when using generic adapter. Sizes of centre pin sometims off by a bit. Thus laptop did not come on first time. A nudge further and ok
47:36 So.....ummm?, Is that "1 hour and a half" in the UK-time scale, which I believe converts to approximately; "6 hours USTime.. It's a rough estimate... I mean; It's kinda hard to accurately convert a "UK-Hour" due to the extra minutes per UKhour for " tea, a snack, more tea, a little TV, and some tea)". or did you already convert a "10-minutes UK" job to the "1 hour USTime"? 😁
Sorin, you are a real Master. For normal techician this is a Classic no repair case.
Thank you very much once again.

had this problem recently, shorted mosfet on the battery circuit 😂

i have been following your all this while practicing on my own. I have been a dell laptop that was coming on and off when it totally went off and not turning on, on power supply. what is the best way to that?
Where did you get the replacement MOSFET, from a donor board? If you don't have donor board is it feasible to purchase them online ?
very interesting video. thanks
I have a question for this laptop battery analyzer. Does it have to be renewed annually?
Hey Sorin
Is your charger cable connected directly to you power supply, did you cut off the connector ? Thanks man

A wire?? its a proper calibrated fuse and not just a wire^^
On macbooks you cannot change mosfets like this, CDC3215 and 17 cannot be exchanged although they are basically the same

My battery pops out without taking it apart. I think I will have the charging port replaced instead of buying new.
but to fix batteries like that sadly we need like 500 euro for that which is mega expensive! :( one day I will have it!
Those batteries look as if they have been visited by a vampire ;)
Cool..
I don't understand well why your laptop is suddenly a live in 9:50 10:50 😅
probably the keyboard ribbon cable not properly seated
Yes, that was a hard one
Spec of dest on the microscope.

customer insipred by your video when you charge fix battery LOL!
some switch in acer boards for charging battery
No, not that weird cause an Acer computer will not work. If the battery is not installed, try the battery he Letty had in it. He probably modified it
Thats not a 20£ job
Its knowledge and experience not components

Sir, did you created that NIP software with labview? seems legit from you, keep up the good work by the way! i learned alot from your videos
