  • Sorry about the Star Wars reference (#sorrynotsorry) we've been working our way through the films lately.
So, Parc le Breos. We've established it was built around 6000 years ago in the neolithic era when the land was probably not a deer park.
It's lucky this piece of land was designated a deer park in the early 13th century, or this wonderful find may not have been discovered in the 19th century.
Today, this is a wonderful landmark to look around as you go for a walk in the local area.

Thanks for this video! We've spent most of our visits in North Wales, and I have a running map of places we've yet to visit in the south. Your videos have me constantly adding new places! :)

Glad you enjoyed it. North Wales is stunningly beautiful but so is the South. They have a very different feel. One of the things that makes Wales such a wonderful place to live and to visit. Glad we can help you with your travel plans. You can see all the places we have been on our map here: mostlycastles.uk/map/

6000 years, sort of blows the mind. Nice video, you keep getting the weather.

It’s hard to wrap your head around time scale wise, isn’t it?
We do try to keep a weather eye out. It’s very tricky to film in the wind and rain 🙂

Fantastic history and an obscure Star Wars reference. Love it.

    They took stones for roads?

It’s not all that uncommon. You can find a lot of castle stones used in houses, field boundaries, and rockeries.
It wouldn’t happen so much now, but back then it was very much a case them being a good source of reusable materials
