  • Cadw states that Brecon Gaer Roman Fort "was once one of the Romans’ largest inland forts and a vital link in the occupiers’ defensive network in Wales."
Now just a few clues are left scattered around a field in the middle of a farm. Even the surrounding area doesn't give much of a clue that this was once such a prominent and important site.
But considering its around 1942 years old, and has no doubt had many careless owners, it's probably not doing too badly for itself.

It is a hugely overlooked site. I suppose it's the sort of thing you are only going to find if you are visiting as many CADW sites as you can.
Really glad you enjoyed the film. Thanks for taking the time to let us know. We really appreciate it. 🥰

Thanks! We only found out about it because of our CADW membership. It's tricky to find too. Not too much to see but quite a nice walk 😀

This one seems to have involved a lot of walking, judging by Ian's puffing! Thank you for a great visit.

You're right, there was a lot of walking. I expect that the heavy breathing is for dramatic effect just to demonstrate how big it is. 😀
