    I bought my 2SS at 162k (currently at 164,400) miles and I love it. Previous owner had to change the timing chain, oil pump, and rear main seal, but thats expected at this high of mileage. Only other complaint is the differential bushing is worn out, you can feel a strong thump when flooring it anywhere from 0-20.
    But it’s been great to me so far. Doesn’t burn oil, doesn’t make any concerning noises like rod knock. It’s fast as hell, it’s earned me my first and second speeding ticket lol. The fastest car I was used to was a 2006 charger r/t before this car. Definitely recommend this sports car to anyone in the market, you won’t be disappointed

    Currently got 81k+ miles on my L99 and had it since 76k miles. Never had a major issue other than changing oil pan gaskets and dropping the tank due to contaminated gas. These cars are reliable across any mileage range as long as it wasn't dogged out. Even saying that, they take a good beating.

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I mean 81k is nothing on a modern car lol. And you've only put 5k miles on it so it's not exactly "tested" lol. People think about miles like it's the 60s or something 100k used to be ready for the graveyard that isn't the case now you can get hundreds of thousands of miles on most cars now if they're properly maintained that is much more important than "mileage". All miles aren't created equal. Around town mileage is totally different than highway mileage.

    • @SGO_

      @Greg Lewis the l99 comes with the automatic and the ls3 comes with the manual.. the l99 is the ls3 accept it has a tiny bit less compression .. overall the l99 is an excellent motor.. only way you can get a 2ss is if you get the auto.. that’s the crème of the crop model.. you get a lot more with the auto in my opinion.. plus once you cam it it will make that manual look like a Prius after you put a 2800 stall torque converter in it

    Bought mine with 153k miles. No issues but still did the following: FBO, tune, gearing, replaced the entire cooling system with the mishimoto kit, turnone power steering pump after blowing the stock pump, ngk spark plugs, replaced the entire front suspension and lowered the car (I drive way too hard and eventually going to do it legit with coilovers). the only thing I have to do now is replace an o2 sensor, and other hoses just due to age. All basic maintenance and the belts are up to date. Eventually I’ll get to doing internals when I go to do cam and heads. As for the exterior it definitely needs cleaning up tho and I’ll be changing out the coil packs too. Car runs great and everything has been done in the past 2yrs since getting the car. Love this car

Fully stock and I drove it back from California with 0 rust full service records even the window sticker when I got home it had 123k on it and it now just barly hit 130K 0 issues besides the crappy wires that go from the button in the door to open the trunk the previous owner had it fixed 2 times and I was the 3rd this time I fixed it properly so it won't happen again 🤣 but the best part was he sold it to me for $11,000 and it's been the best most fun car I've ever owned

This 80% time screams young rodder that's been ragging on the car hard. Idc how tough any engine or equipment is if you work it hard said life expectancy will be lowered. Just like us we smoke we drink heavy etc we will shorten our life. If buying high mileage Id prefer a older owner and 100% stock and if inside and body clean pretty good sign taken care of. Ive blown a piston in my 1SS and had to do an engine swap. Im 80% sure it was my fault because I put engine carbon buildup remover fluid in my Gas Tank a week prior. I still have it to this day 125k miles so far minus 600k for the used LS3 engine I swapped out. Funny thing is it happen right after 100k miles (why I bought the cleaner in the first place) 💀

      I had to replace my engine because when doing my own oil change. I didn’t put enough oil, and the lifters gave like 4-5 days later. Lucky warranty covered it. Instead of putting 8 quarts, I put more like 9-9.5 quarts. Car always runs fine with it. Better to have a little too much oil than not enough 😅
