    Backfire or spitting from ndix carbs means low mixture. Could explain the idle issues. Turn the 2 screws on each cars further out

    My thoughts were valves then you said they had been done, i would check them then you know for sure , and was it one side or one jet that was different from the other , might have a tinker there as well,

      Definitely need to recheck the valve adjustment, I wasn’t the guy who did it.

    Those carbs are 53 years old. Get rid of car, or spend a good amount $$ to keep it on the road.

      @@scrapdaddysgarage5027 It may be a weak fuel pump or a bad condenser. If carbs have issues inside. New 911 Webers carbs go for $4,100😲
