In today's video we test drive the Maverick Quantum FLUX V2, to find out if the new truck is ACTUALLY better than the old truck. We also race it against the MJX 14303 and the results are SURPRISING! LET'S GO!
WRC - Parking lot Special Stage 😂 I love the rooster tail from the MJX
Pinned comment! WRC was exactly what I was thinking at the time!
Man, what a great video brother… the best one I’ve seen all week😎. And I love my MJX too! It’s a bad ass rally car. Especially for its size.
Thank you sir! The MJX is just so good for such a small car, it's hard to believe how capable it really is.
Love your videos. You make the best videos. I like the views you show. Thanks
I honestly really appreciate this comment, thank you!
Excellent racing guys. Adam can drive boy ? Great job guys 🎉
Yep he can drive, the whole crew can. Except me, I'm the worst driver on Rek RC
I have the 'Mini Infraction' version of the MJX which pretty much the same as the rally car you have.
I've been meaning to get one of those myself, always like what I've seen of them.
You only have to breathe on those Mavericks and they'll break!
So we've noticed hahahaha. I wasn't expecting that after all the other reviews I saw though l.
Yeah... no way I expected that outcome on both of them.
Love the MJX14303, sprinkled some magic dust on mine it'll hit 63mph now ;)
I bet it's surprisingly stable at that speed as well isn't it?
It’s going to be a long time before some company comes out with a car that gives you the bang for buck that the 14303 does. I’m getting one in a couple of weeks. It’ll be my first electric RC car. I used to do nitro back in the day.
No Gyro in the truck MJX for the win again
Dang , that little Citroen cruises brother 👍
It's just so able for such a little car. All it's weight is as low as it can get which helps.
Good thing you didnt bash it, it’s like a piece of glass. I’m surprised
Once we saw how easily it broke, we just decided to make it a multi surface race video and keep it light. But it didn't drive and handle really well, I'll give it that.
Great video as always. Have you reviewed the Ftx supaforza? It’s a beast of a car
I haven't but I want one!
@@Rek_Rc In the uk they are FTX. Think it’s FSR for you. Great channel dude. Keep up the great work 👍🏼
@GreenlaneRC I think you're correct it's fSR here. Thank you so much for the kind words as well, it means a great deal to us!
Say what you will about the Arrma 3s plastic driveshafts, in 6 months I haven't broken one.
My Senton is still running it's stock shaft, and it's been over 2 years of bashing
That’s odd . I’ve beaten the tar out of my Maverick version 2 nothing has broke yet (except for slipper needing adjustment), and I’d say it’s as tough as my Team Ass ‘td rival mt-10 which I run the same way and have and have broke a front control arm. Both are tough asnails in my opinion and very bash worthy in their perspective catagories. Love all my MJX’s too. My fav is the 14209. As always great fun video guys!
I saw so many reviews showing it to be more durable than it was in mine. But, sometimes it just happens that way. Many didn't think the MAXX Slash was durable, but we found it to be nearly indestructible.
One of our popular youtube Australian brothers beat the snot out of the Quantum 2 jumping large packed hard rock chat mounds and never broke anything. Makes me wonder if there is defect on the right-side front putting it in a bind.
@@Rek_Rc Agree. Majority of Traxxas cars have been very tough in recent times. Did I say that? I have to give them credit where it is deserved.
@@kevincain6843 hey, nothing wrong with dealing out a bit of credit where it's due.
@@kevincain6843 could be a bad run in production. I know know I’ve been ultra impressed with my Q2 and how many hard bad landings it has had. It’s a beast too! Love how smooth it is!
Awesome video! Put some UpGrade RC Dirt Claw 2.8 on the Quantum 2 and it will hook and go. Not sure if it will traction roll racing plus it might break shafts faster. Wonder if the Quantum 2 needs diffs shimmed or is diff housing flexing.
It does seem like there is a ton of slop in the mesh for the front diff according to Adam. Way more slop than you'd want.
@@Rek_Rc Unfortunately you have to review what you experience with a product. Something changed. Never saw harden shafts snap so easily on a ten scale. Either in bind, the gears slipping and reengaging under power or bad metal mix. I would say the sloppy gears. Perhaps a diff bearing bit the dust or case has a crack.
@kevincain6843 thing is, because of how well they handle, I still like both versions 1 and 2
Great video!
Thank you so much, I really am happy you enjoyed it! It's about smiles per mile for us above all other things in this hobby
Awesome vid 🎉
Thank you! 👍
You need to add 80wt oil in the MJX shocks, that will eliminate alot of the body roll.
That sounds about right to me
That mjx getting with it all day, dong sleep on them mjx, they will run you down quick
They can close a gap pretty rapidly
I have beat my Fireteam absolutely to death. I have went through 3 motors but same ESC I have treated it like I stole it. The only things that go through are the pinions and wheel bearings. For the maverick to perform amazingly its just so weak in crucial areas. I will be modifying soon.
Crazy how both versions handle and drive so well, but broke from really nothing compared to what we usually put RC trucks through. Good thing we didn't try a big air drag race! That would have been one short video.
Yeah no kidding lol
You be driving them mfs fo sho
They were both actually great when it came to just driving, but that MJX is just so much fun, a different level of fun.
Maybe loosen can the slipper clutch a bit... if the maverick has one... im not familiar with that line
It does, and I think you're right, a bit looser would be good.
I got new crown gears so I am breaking all the way down and pretty much rebuilding drive train.
I just got the citroen shell for my 14301, it arrived, and that night my ESC died.
runs the motor for a second before thermal shutdown. i've had it for a year so ordered a slightly smaller esc for it, can still deal with that motor.
my biggest problem has been with the left steering post, i really wish the steering mechanism sat on bearings, i've been thru a few steering sets, along with the steering links. but otherwise its been solid.
the tpr tires wear insantly on tarmac. the rubber ones are better, but it starts to get pricey if you want to run on tarmac. such a weird wheel size, does ANYONE know what other wheels fit?
I get things stuck in the steering of mine often, but luckily it seems to shake out again quickly most of the time.
I order a set of on road 10th scale rally wheels with Real rubber and trad pattern.with just a little body trim an they work an last a long time,Amazon that is for $20
@@Rek_Rc yeah that happens offroad, but this car is so fun onroad (and curbs etc). The plastic steering parts break, and the metal ones deform and become loose. The left wheel ends up flopping all about the place, the car still steers, but trim gets a bit tricky
@@jeromepenick2060 I haven't fitted 1/10 tires yet but yeah its an option at least for my old shell. I'm not trimming a brand new citreon shell though
Awwwww flux . Another hurricane coming .
Oh crap! But, jokes aside I really hope that storm loses steam fast.
The slipper nut is too tight from the factory, remove the rear end and loosen the nut 1-1/4 full turn
Marvin from the channel was telling us the same thing, we thought it was a bit tight as well.
Plan on it. Thanks man.
Surprised that Maverick is as fragile as it is.
We were too, very surprised.
I dont mean this as a slam since I do enjoy your videos but ai have to say with your long hair you look so much like a special girlfriend in my past.
Hahahaha, I'm not offended, I hear stuff like that from time to time.
i loved the last MJ video .. but your driving this video man .. SMH .. idk dude .. are you ok ? 🤨😑😒 what happened ?
i ordered one after the last video ..
Hahahah yeah my driving wasn't as good this time around, I'm thinking I should have left the suspension where it was originally set. That's what I get for "tuning"
