You can't please everyone. If those leaks are legit it's exactly what I was hoping for. The Switch is my favourite console ever and Nintendo loves to reinvent the wheel and I just want a better Switch and I wanted it larger. But I'm not making any full judgement until Nintendo officially announces it.
This just isn't what the Nintendo of the past would do that's my problem. It's just simply... boring. They don't need to change everything, but this design is just the same thing again. Iwata or Reggie wouldn't have allowed this at all.
@@frankwoodson5867Yes, and no, Ive seen people say they just want a Switch but more powerful, then after the leaks are like " This is boring, they really should've done something cooler"
I think these fans grew up with Wii/WiiU so they think Nintendo has always been about gimmicks which is not true at all! NES > SNES > N64 > GC are all power enhancements only with just Wii/WiiU being gimmicky, same thing for their handhelds: GB > GBC > GBA > GBSP until the DS & 3DS. Some ppl just want to complain no matter what lmao, the only thing the Switch 2 needs is higher specs (no drift too ofc lol) & it'd be perfect! Hybrid + backward compatible + more power + great games.. what else is there? Personally if the leaks are true is my dream 🙏🏼
I mean yeah things got really gimmicky around then but nintendo's been innovating for most of their history, they made so many changes and advancements in controllers in particular so I suppose stuff like the wii was a natural follow up to that legacy. Same with their handhelds until the DS where they started playing around with those 2 screens among other things. Nintendo's always been innovating in one way or another, something that's just a spec bump with no other notable changes is a tad unusual for them so I'm expecting at least something tiny
Are you an idiot? N64 changed everything for Nintendo, Gamecube had a new controller, and mini discs, and you could carry the system around easily. Wii had new controls, motion. Nintendo has always brought new stuff with each system. This is NOT new with Switch 2.
@@dragonicbladex7574 they will surely have a little something that is new for the Switch 2, some say it'll be a camera or a 2nd screen by using the TV & Switch at the same time, who knows.. I just think Nintendo made their best games when the followed a traditional path without forcing a weird gimmick into the gameplay (Zelda Spirit Track & Phantom Hourglass DS, Donkey Kong Returns Wii, Zelda TP Wii, Star Fox WiiU..), but all will be shown soon anyway, can't wait for the reveal!
Switch 2 honestly makes the most sense. The main issue with the Wii U was that the original one was a fad, so consumers didn't care much about the successor regardless of the name. This isn't the case with the Switch. People from every and any audience love it. Nintendo is in a much better place marketing, growth, and sales wise that any name would work as long as they stay true to what made the OG Switch so great.
You don't get to speak on everyone's behalf. I hate the Switch, it's a passionless hunk of plastic that has no Nintendo magic in it. It feels like a product...like an Ipad, not a game system from Nintendo. Though I suppose part of the issue was we never actually got what the NX was supposed to be....Iwata died before it was finished, and nobody but him knew what NX even stood for and what his full plans were. Supposedly the Switch was going to have a second game slot to be able to play 3DS games, but that was scrapped. I suspect after Iwata died Nintendo said no way we can put that in there, we know Iwata would have wanted to take a loss and give the players that but we don't want that! The Switch we got is mostly nothing like what Iwata planned.
Honestly, the only thing that I'm upset with Nintendo regarding the leaks is that I had to find out anything about the system from leaks instead from Nintendo themselves.
I mean, it's not like we're gonna know what Nintendo is doing based on this leak anyway. it's just...more switch lol The Reveal trailer is still gonna go SO HARD. If you remember the first switch reveal, there were so many games and things shown that were AMAZING. I'm not too worried ^W^
They hit gold with the Switch design! Just make it progressively better as new iterations are needed and just expand on what works! Don't scrap the entire flipping design starting from scratch!
Disagree. New and creative ways is what Nintendo is known for. Supporting staying still is anti progress, anti new, anti creative. Just cause you have no creative bones in your body and praise regurgitated crap doesn't mean others will drop to that level.
@@ItApproaches If Nintendo does anything other than the plain Switch 2, the videogame industry will crash completely. If they stick with what works, they'll be the ones to save it yet again.
@@TheRealNintendoKid Your argument is flawed, Sony and Xbox will die out, Nintendo could make the gaming industry playing games on forks, and it would carry on the industry.
I think the Switch 1 has too many problems and limitations that are holding it back from reaching its full potential. So to me a more powerful Switch 2 is exactly what needs to happen. I kind of viewed things as like the Wii U was the rough draft, the Switch 1 was the 2nd draft, and now the Switch 2 will be the final draft. The Switch 1 has had games sometimes struggle under its own hardware limitations and probably came out too early than Nintendo initially wanted it to. Unfortunately they had to release it as soon as possible due to how bad the Wii U was doing. Nintendo has showcased the crazy amount of ideas and things they can come up with, within the hardware limitations of the Switch 1. So letting those same developers be given the elbow room to finally show off the magic they can really do is kind of what the Switch 2 needs to be. Nintendo can always release unique accessories down the line if they need to, but the Switch 2 just needs to catch up and fix all the Switch 1 issues. Personal reason why innovation shouldn't be the focus for this next console is because they need to take advantage of the diminishing returns in graphical power that Sony and Microsoft are currently struggling under. And also take advantage of the long development times that many companies put their developers/studios under to make AAA games. The leap in graphical power from the Switch 1 to the Switch 2 is more akin to what it was like in the past where the jumps between the PS1 -> PS2 -> PS3 were like. At least psychologically that's what it's going to feel like since Nintendo will have the breathing room to make Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom look stunning and actually run at 60 frames (hopefully???). Anyways, power is important for this next console. Due to diminishing returns in graphical power we can focus on innovative hardware for the one after the Switch 2.
Good comment. And yeah, Nintendo right now is at a perfect spot. They’re making more money than ever, have more fans than ever, and have the perfect chance to release their next console. Diminishing returns of this generation combined with the fact half of Sony’s playerbase is still on PS4, and the Xbox Series consoles doing worse than what the Xbox One was performing its fourth year in, PLUS the Xbox Series S holding back the generation a little gives Nintendo a perfect place to slide right in as we won’t be getting PS6 until 2028 at the earliest, meaning we’ll still be getting games for this current gen for another comfortable 6-7 years.
I personally like both concepts of the Wii U and the Switch, but if asked to choose between performance and portability, I would choose the former. It makes perfect sense to continue the success of the Switch, I personally just never felt to use my Switch as a portable device outside the house. The Wii U (to me) already bridged the gap pretty well (And I would also love to see a stylus again), it was just a bit early for its time imho. On the other hand the Switch already struggled a bit with the compromise of its compact design vs functionality. Not saying I don't like it having it's flexibility (or the fact that Nintendo tries new ideas - which I highly respect), but that there might be limits if something isn't changed in a maybe more radical way, like the way the controllers are designed. Just saying, if Nintendo went back into a more Wii or Wii U like direction, while keeping their concept of at least half way portability it might be still a great console to please many gamers. But on the other hand I can also understand the Idea of just improving it the way it is.
Can't agree. The Wii U was better then the Switch in almost every single way. Switch was a watered down Wii U, yet was successful, it's a backwards world though, where shit often sells better then quality.
people saying its gonna be a “wii u situation again “like this isn’t what x box and playstation have been doing since they entered the game. It is the only logical step to make sense the introduction to the switch because they really can’t just go back to just one or the other. Interestingly Im already wondering what happens AFTER switch 2
at the same time there's not a 1 to 1 overlap between xbox/ps fans and nintendo fans I don't think, they're different fanbases, I do think nintendo's attracted a crowd with yknow different tastes
It's not the same, joining an already clogged market and doing what the others do when Nintendo has said themselves for years, they don't care what the other two companies do would make them hypocrites. They would be doing the same problem those who all jump on the AI band wagon do....the result is EVERYONE loses.
If they give us more power, a bigger screen and better graphics on the games we know we are going to live and backwards compatibility for the games that we already love, and we have all won. If they do add a camera attachment, that is sleek when attached, I can imagine the combination of Joy con motion control with Xbox connect style camera mode being something really special and fun for a few games here and there as a fun new thing that Nintendo was surely a heck of a lot better than anybody else ever did. Slight motion control is my absolute favorite feature that distinguishes Nintendo consoles and control from Xbox. I love being able to fine-tune my aim with the flick of a wrist. It makes all the difference in the world and it is fun to have Mario party motion control with my kids. Shooting games and sports games although we don’t play them as time are really fun and exciting to do with motion controls, and create a lot of really fun memories for us. Is really good at implementing physical ways of getting his involved and above the couch. But this is obviously really important to them and if they can find another way to implement it with the new system and a new feature that I’m down for it.I don’t want a bunch of games that only rely on that, but I’ll certainly invest in a few. Have fun with them without a doubt.
If the recent Switch 2 leaks are legitimate, I'll be happy with what we're getting. I don't mind the console looking similar, as long as the next generation of games are bigger and better, that's all that really matters to me!
Bigger doesn't mean better....just means bigger budget, and more development time, and what happens? You play the game for a month or so, then put it down and move on to the next one.
People who think Nintendo was going to do something wildly different haven't been paying attention to everything that has come out of Furukawa's mouth for the last two years.
@@taki7546i think he said that continuing to pursue drastic differences in hardware wont lead to success and instead focusing on software with what they already have will be the winning factor.
@@taki7546 Basically their first, second, third, fourth, and fifth priority is maintaining continuity from the Switch. Furukawa comes off as someone who is absolutely paranoid about leaving anything behind in the generational transition - device compatibility, software, accounts, etc. I doubt Furukawa would jump generations at all if he thought he could get another five or six years out of the Switch as Nintendo's flagship console.
@@ItApproachesWhile I certainly agree that innovation is key to success, pointless innovation is only hurtful. Would it really be a popular choice to make the next system a handheld or a home console, and not both? What if the new controller was bizarre and awkward to hold for no good reason other than “it’s new?” I love wacky Nintendo, but I dislike failing Nintendo even more than I love wacky Nintendo. I’m also positive that the UI and software for the Switch Successor will address many grievances current owners have, like the lack of themes and better online functionality and features. No CAD model or circuit board can tell anyone that. The Xbox and PlayStation brands somewhat serve as a model for when things get too stale, and while I don’t want Nintendo to go in that route, improving upon a successful design while staying innovative is, to me, the best path forward.
This is what we wanted. Switch is an amazing idea. They just need to add more power under the hood. And that's what they're giving us. In the 2nd USB port on top... Could be used for cameras second screens charging it while you're playing it. Virtual reality headset. Definitely not upset. I just want them to drop it already. Outside of first party Nintendo games. Would be really excited if they drop elden ring like they did with Skyrim.
The biggest thing the Switch has going for it is its nature of being a hybrid. How simple it is to put it inside the dock, and start playing on a TV with your friends. This is where it even outshines its competition, the Steam Deck. They should lean more into that, and make the "switch" even more seamless, by streaming the image to the dock instead of having to plug it in. Then, the dock could upscale the image to your TV. That way you could have Dual Screen experiences back on the menu. It would be like the Wii U but in reverse. This would allow to bring back plenty of DS/3DS/Wii U ports and concepts and help further differentiate the platform from its competition.
@@dragonicbladex7574 yes, but its identity doesn‘t revolve around that feature. It‘s even in the name „Switch“. The Steam Deck is more like a companion device to your gaming PC.
@@Dosnmeda Alright yeah there's a different identity I mean they do make it astonishingly convenient to dock it and make sure that everyone's got one who gets the system I'll give them that but hardware-wise it's just a handheld, in essence the handhelds have evolved and their dedicated home console line is pretty much gone
@@dragonicbladex7574 Console gaming always used to be about convenience: Put in a game and have fun. It doesn’t matter what form it takes. As long as Nintendo follows this simple principle they will succeed.
@@aetherial87 it's as if this is what they've been looking for, all these years in terms of console efficiency, with both of their research teams, and they finally found it in the Switch , so much so, they merged the "Gameboy" research team, with the "consoles" team, to continue to develop this system from now on. 😂
I mean yeah but not forever I don't want them to never try new ideas for playing games and become like every other console manufacturer ever, way I see it if they had a really good idea to run with eventually they would give it a try, but they don't, for the time being. I mean I am a gamer I like playing games but I also want to try out new kinds of games, nintendo's the only place I can get my like DS and wii fix, man the world would be so much poorer without a lot of those games
You don't speak on behalf of everyone. I have been a Nintendo fan since the NES and Gameboy, about 29 years now ish. I like Nintendo for doing NEW things each gen. i don't EVER care or support "more power!" That's no important. And frankly this new path of just a "better" Switch is LAZY, and playing it safe when Nintendo has more money then they have ever had before. They are the richest company in Japan for crying out loud, this is the perfect time to do new crazy stuff. I support NEW and CREATIVE IDEAS. Not the stupid Sony route, there is a reason I have only ever have one PS before (the PS4), they are boring and lame. Not one person I know in real life wants to go through another 7 years with the same experience we already had. Frankly just a stronger switch insults Iwata, Yamauchi and the very foundation of Nintendo itself.
Many of the gimmicks barely get used, so I'd be fine if there was nothing. Even the Switch had little gimmicks (like IR cameras in joycons) that did next to nothing. If all they do is increase the price of hardware, I'd rather them not be there.
I hate the narrative that people thought the wiiu was a tablet add-on. I've only seen people make that statement when they actually knew that it was a new console. No one has done a study that asked this of non gamers. The wider audience of the wii were less into wiiu simply because they'd already checked out on the wii, and only bought one game per unit sold. Those who were bigger gamers weren't interested because it was an interesting console. The name was bad but there's little proof out there that the name was the reason for the failure.
Calling these takes brain dead would be an insult to the intelligence of people in a vegitative state. And I don't think it's even conceiveable to put into words how unimaginably special this way of thinking is. A Switch 2 is all it needs to be, and to try something else would be like drawing a mustache in the Mona Lisa.
The Switch is, conceptually, the best idea for a console any gaming company has ever had. If Nintendo had done anything other than refine and improve upon that idea for the successor, it would not have been innovation. It would have just been introducing a new gimmick for the sake of doing something different, and it would have been to their detriment.
Its weird that people would jump to conclusions and get upset before they've even seen it properly. As this was a prototype from last year there is a good chance that things will have changed as we've seen different designs for earlier verions of the gamecube, wii and wii u gamepad, which you even showed in that old trailer on your video, that were shown around a year before release. Even if it isn't though the Switch concept has not yet run its course so makes sense that it will be fairly similar to the current console. Innovation doesn't just mean creating a new gimmick, there are plenty of other ways to innovate, some people don't seem to get that
It would be ABSOLUTELY IDIOTIC for Nintendo to deviate from what the Switch is. They simply need to improve upon what they already have with the Switch, inside and out. Improve the screen quality, make the joycons more comfortable, give it more power, and make sure it's backwards compatible with the current Switch: That is 100% GUARANTEED success right there, they literally don't need to do anything else except just make games. I appreciated Nintendo's attempts at new and creative ideas, but that's just me and the (relative) handful of others in the minority group. Most people just want a normal console, and the Switch fits neatly in the middle, it's not some wild concept but it's not just a game box. Anyone who's actually upset at the idea of a better switch and just wants some new weird machine is clueless.
What I would like to see is a switch with a projector on the switch so that you could project the image of the game you are playing almost anywhere and still get a full screen experience
thats a cool idea but projectors are large and for one with decent image quality would be costly. Also it would drain the devices battery life like crazy and would generate alot of heat resulting in bad performance and even worse battery life
The hybrid console is the future of gaming. I played 1 game on my ps5. I played 50 on my switch. Power and graphics are almost irrelevant innmy book. Does the game work? Are the frames stable 30 or 60? Can I make out whats happening on the screen? Is the controller good? Where can I play my games? Those are the the thing I care about.
I would like the Switch 2 to be smaller than the supposedly leaked prototype. But if the increased size means that it'll be much more beefy, then it might be a fine trade-off. I've used Steam Deck extensively and I think that it's size and weight is _fine,_ but it's not so convenient to travel with and its weight demands you to have more support for your arms after a while of playing.
This leak is 100% what they should do. The Switch is the perfect concept, they would be insane to abandon it. And it should be called the Switch 2. It leaves no room for confusion or misinterpretation.
Give thanks it doesn't have a dual screen. The cool thing would be that it could connect to the TV while being on, like the wii u. But it doesn't seem easy. The dock should be more complex, receive bluethoot from the switch while it is connected to the TV.
Good video, Andres. The SNES was the exact leap over NES that I wanted. N64 was truly a revolution with its analog stick, rumble technology, and use of 3-D visuals, along with the ability to easily rotate the camera from your controller. GCN give us more refined visuals in the 3-D era, comparable to a couple of generations prior with a step up in pixel quality. Wii was once again, that true revolution, bringing gaming into the world of motion, control, balancing, etc. Wii U is a system that I definitely enjoyed and appreciate Nintendo‘s attempt to revolutionize the industry again, but it tried to be too much of a kitchen sink doing everything, and not 100% succeeding in any one section. Nintendo Switch was that proper revolution, bridging together hardware and software divisions, home and portable platform divisions, making one device that didn’t distract and try to be an entertainment hub, but just a pure video game device that had multiple, compelling ways to play. The boat doesn’t need to be rocked just yet. A more powerful system in Nintendo Switch 2 is going to be just fine. Could something like the new dock that allows you to see the screen at all times be incorporated? Yes. Does anything too ambitious need to be done though, beyond making spectacular games? No. I am stoked for Nintendo coming off of such a high spot, into what will certainly be more greatness.
Switch worked because it's unique feature did not require extra effort from developers. They don't like having to be forced to make their Nintendo version of a Game have to use the latest gimmick. The easier it is for Devs to bring their Games over, the better and Nintendo can be the ones to take advantage of unique features in their first party 🙃
guys, the nintendo switch was massively successful partly because of its design, and its shape made it easy to go into hand held and docked mode, and also, fans have gotten used to the old switch design and it's now iconic. so why change it? why not expand off of the existing idea? this is what they're doing, basically if it ain't broke don't fix it. that's why they didn't change the overall design much
I honestly just want something more portable. The original 3DS was the perfect size for a handheld. Even the XL can fit in my pocket. I find the Switch is too large for that purpose. Increasing in size just makes it even more cumbersome for portable gaming to me.
Andre: A Zelda game like that had never been made before! Why, because it wasn't possible! Me: Dude, that's every Zelda game.... OoT wasn't possible on the SNES lol. Windwaker wasn't possible on the N64, Skyward Sword wasn't possible on the Gamecube.
My only complain is the switch 2 should have came with 16 GB LPDDR5 or 5X. It’s more future proof for devs/Game developers and would allow Nintendo offer more OS/online features. If rumours are true. 12 GB system memory is ok. And maybe they doing to keep price down some. But 16 GB is standard on current gen consoles and pc and mobile pc devices. Even steam deck comes with 16 GB as does all its clones mobile hand held device. Like would been nice on switch 2. Have proper online voice chat, online features, txt/friends chat and they could have even added discord to switch 2. Even just for voice chat. But 12 GB is sufficient, vs switch 1. It only had 4 Gb ram and many ps4/Xbox ports didn’t get made Cus lack of ram and force devs to greatly downgrade their ports. At least now we could see some ps5/XSX/XSS ports comes to switch 2. If they not too demanding.
@@codezero7981 Haha yeah that is so true. XSS should have came with a minimum of 12 GB GDDR6. We’ve already seen few devs and studios hold back a few ports for XSS Cus of its less ram. 12 GB is huge jump from 4 GB on switch. It could been worst. Nintendo could gone with just 8 GB. Gah lol. Nintendo games are smaller in size and not as demanding. As I’ve been saying for years. It’s is isn’t always about graphics. Rather see games better game Physics or features. Better/Smarter NPC is one thing all this AI talk could help with some. But nope. Gota waste AI on stupid things.
I think that it will be called, "Super Switch". I think that a 2-teraflop machine will be adequate for the 1080P display. Reportedly it will be more powerful in dock mode, which will support higher resolutions. Price could be a big issue if it is over $400.
I'm one of those fans who thought the Switch successor would be a very different console, but that was more from a belief that "That's just what Ninten-does". 😅 I see absolutely no problem with them going for the iterative system, they've never done it before, so in a way is a form of innovation. 😂
@@Matixmer TBF back then there were some peripherals that tried to make the NES into a more potent console, well the Famicom at least, like the Famicom disk system, but they ultimately opted to make a 16 bit system, The SNES, which as you pointed out, is a completely new system, except for the name, 16 bit processor, 8 button controller instead of 4, 6MB cartridges instead of 1MB, and so on and so forth.
@@EarnestGamer Yeah, but it was an iterative update. Obviously it had more powerful hardware, the Switch 2 will have that too. It will probably have bigger cartridges as well. You could say the SNES had more complex controller which improved on input/gaming complexity. But I‘d say that was a special point in gaming history and we basically figured out by now what the optimal controller layout is.
@@Matixmer The thing is, the improvements in power back then were from 8 bit to 16 bit, it was twice as powerful, N64? 4 times as powerful... not the 30% power increase you see gen to gen nowadays, that's why despite looking alike, NES SNES and N64 were not iterative consoles.
It seems that it will be fully backward compatible with all the switch library, both physical and digital. That would be enough for me if they officially confirm that. Also if Capcom confirm Monster Hunter Wilds for hte Switch 2 I will be happy.
The best feature they could have is improved 3rd party support. And the way to do that is by getting the performance up to at least to the level of an Xbox Series S. From everything we know about the system, it seems like they've done that. And with DLSS, it may even be slightly better.
Fans are mad at everything 😂😂😂😂 They want power but dont want to pay the price... They dont want to pay the price but are mad at lesser hardware!! And give them all the options with pc gaming, console gaming, ps5 and ps5 pro All mad 😂😂😂
Where there really should be a large level of innovation for customer wants should absolutely be in the games, but also the Joy-cons should be innovated upon. Make the connection for them a lot stronger to support bigger controllers, no drift, AND new interesting joycons with exclusive features like a bigger joycon with a touch pad for similar functionality in games as the duel sense, or even a joy con with enhanced speakers to add bass, OR even a large joycon that has a screen on it for map or start menu view for some games.
Not mad nor a fake/real Nintendo fan, only bought those overpriced trash consoles for the MonsterHunter games. Just being honest… the switch itself is an amazing concept, but they are clearly built as cheap as possible and the prices were set up as high as they could. Same thing with the 3DS. Their products are severly overpriced. Nintendo is an awfully greedy company. If you own any other gaming console or know anything about PC hardware, you would know that I'm telling the truth.
For my part, I'm looking forward to a new version of the Switch. I just wish Nintendo would take a little more risk and try new ideas. It's true that the Switch is their most successful console, so that's not wrong in itself, but introducing new ideas is also one of their greatest strengths. These ideas may not always get the recognition they deserve, but they are in some ways pioneers of new gaming experiences.
those "new ideas" are just dumb gimmicks that pushed a lot of people away, including third party developers. The Switch is almost perfect, it just needs a little more power for some of the more resource-taxing third party games. If the leak is accurate, this is exactly what I was hoping for.
@@TheRealNintendoKid Third party devs are idiots lol. 90% of third party games are trash and passionless. Third parties don't sell systems, exclusives do. Third party games are just the cherry on top, not the cake itself. They aren't important.
@@TheRealNintendoKid Most Nintendo consoles had those gimmicks, and basically, Nintendo has always tried to improve the industry with new ideas. So, in my opinion, it's also a bit of a give and take. For me, the problem wasn’t that the Switch didn’t have enough power (or had too many gimmicks), but that most handhelds (at a reasonable price) can’t compete with home consoles in certain ways. I loved my Switch, but personally, I would rather see Nintendo focus on their own games or try to compete with other home consoles. But we will see. It's just my personal opinion. And if people are happy with the Switch 2, that's fine with me.
The real issue isn’t that the Wii U had a weird gimmick, but that no one had a solid plan on what to do with that gimmick. Sure, a handful of titles made something that came close to working, like Zombie U. Yet nothing truly proved the Wii U’s gamepad as a solid step forward. Even Miyamoto fell flat with Star Fox Zero. “Innovation” doesn’t mean being weird for weird’s sake. You need to address an actual issue and find a good solution. The gamepad was just a worse version of the DS at the end of the day. The Switch solved the issue of users not being able to freely take their games with them when they travel while not sacrificing their home entertainment set-up. This idea could be improved even more than where we’re at now. If the next Nintendo console wants to have a gimmick, then Nintendo needs to validate that gimmick to both third party devs and the public. Consoles are too expensive to make big risks like that.
The Gamepad just wasn't the right step forward and Nintendo had no plan for it outside of "We'll figure it out later." Well, they didn't. They just released the same games they would have released anyway.
I think people are mad at it because since it looks practically the same it feels like it’s a switch 1.5 and not a true 2.0. We should wait for the actual announcement and then we will see all the Nintendo magic behind this seamingly same-y design. On my end I already know all the specs of the things and I couldn’t be more excited 😂
For those who want smth different : well I say WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT ??? like ik you say I want smth different but what realistically do you actually want?! The switch is perfect it just needs tweaks fixes and upgrades we are judging from a blueprint wait till it’s revealed then judge it
I thought that the newfound power of Switch 2 will allow a truly open world 3D Mario for the first time in history. In fact, I would love it if it were just the Metro Kingdom of Super Mario Odyssey, but 10 times bigger.
This feels very simular to the WII - WII U launch they had the succesfull WII and wanted to use that but it totally flopped because of the name so peaple did not even know it was a brand new console, imagine seeing this in a shop (and you are the avarage consumer) you might just think this is another variation of the the switch, like the same OLED or Light, idk this feels way to simular to that situation i hope it does not flop because of it
Here's the thing though. Someone confirming it's specs are similar to what we know doesn't prove anything. If you were going to fake this thing you'd utilise all the supposed leaked information up to right now. That's how fakes work, it taps into the existing zeitgeist. Regardless, the console not being exciting isn't an issue. So long as it performs better, doesn't have analog stick drift.
As not the biggest gamer, I am very happy if the switch 2 ends up being just a more powerful switch. During it's launch year, I was deciding between ps4 or switch and ended up going with ps4 for it's massive library (and the games at the time was more appealing to me). I was planning to get a switch when they did their mid-cycle upgrade, but it never really came. With every passing year, the original switch just got less and less appealing due to it's hardware capabilities. I don't feel it's worth it anymore to buy the console with aging specs, especially since the successor is coming. I can also go without gaming so it's not a high priority or I would've jumped onto the OLED model already. I hope my wait is worth it.
The entire problem with the Wii U was the fact it looked like a accessory for the Wii, innovation is Nintendo’s style a bigger console will remove the portability of the console at lot more, sure it’ll be portable but I doubt anyone will bring out an 8 inch console in a subway to play Zelda. I get the hype but I don’t like this idea personally and would much rather prefer a bigger difference. A bigger console isn’t the best solution.
Imho, the Switch 2 should be a solid unit like the Switch Lite but still have the 8 inch screen. I just don't see the point of Joycons or even a dock when there's HDMI cables.
I just wish the Joy-Cons had better ergonomic, it looks like once again I'm going to have to rely on third party alternatives for better comfort which disappointing
I think switch 1 is uncomfortable to hold as well. Do you use a grip or third party joycons for more ergonomics? I’m excited for bigger joycons and possibly more “meat”on them!
I showed it to my pretty casual friend and he kinda had a “meh” attitude about it and I was shocked. Basically he said Nintendo is supposed to the innovators but it’s just another Switch, like you mentioned. I guess that’s fair… but I don’t think people realize just how LONG it’s been since the original hardware launched. I think the normies will understand once it comes out, and there might even be a new gimmick idk
Old Nintendo was about iterating consoles & innovating in games. You'd also get innovation with controllers, but at a certain point, control schemes became pretty standardized. So unless people want Nintendo to force a ridiculous gimmick that likely won't work, this is the smarter move for Switch 2.
For Nintendo fans like us it doesn't matter, but now Nintendo has a huge audience to please and I don't think more power will get them excited. Knowing Nintendo like we do, they'll surely come up with something 'wacky' and this isn't necessarily bad. Keep in mind that the Switch 2 won't have the same success as the Switch, the Switch phenomenon only happens every two or three generations.
A contradiction of yours is saying that having two screens is a gimmick then saying a scroll wheel isn’t a gimmick? The best play experience we’ve gotten from Nintendo is during their 2 screen era because the second screen improves the gameplay. The biggest limitation to a controller is the limited amount of buttons you can put on the screen which a touch screen fixes. A second screen massively improves the gameplay experience specially when you spend less time in the menu. I wanna switch a weapon or select an item. Instead of going into the menu and pressing buttons to navigate which is the worst part of a controller hence why I prefer M&K to navigate menus, you could do it through touch. It frees up the buttons for more generic controls that you use a lot and allows the switching of weapons to be on the touch. Not only this, it allows for more varied gameplay experiences like Pokemon Ranger on the ds. Scroll wheel would be more of gimmick than a second screen and the Wii U gamepad is so far the best controller in the market to this stage without a doubt. No other controllers have reached the heights of the Wii U gamepad
I was kind of hoping the joycons would be more ergonomic. I have pretty large hands. But this should improve on the switch oled I have because the joysticks look bigger. I may have to 3d print grips to make it mor comfortable in handheld.
Most of the fans who want a more powerful and less creative Switch 2 are mainly TH-camrs who talk about video games and people who are heavily into gaming. It's a group that thinks they speak for the entire Nintendo demographic, which is actually very diverse. Keep in mind that the biggest percentage of Nintendo Switch owners are casual players who see Nintendo as the creative company it's been since the Nintendo DS. Nintendo’s goal has always been to reach new audiences, not just hold on to the ones they already have. So, I get that some people aren't happy with the leaks about the Nintendo Switch 2, and I’m pretty sure it won’t be as successful as you all think it will be. Gamers tend to have a very narrow view of the world; they assume everyone thinks, or should think, the same way they do.
Only things I want is better controls to hold more like Handel's but not super bulky an to be able run the games smoothly while looking super good 1080p undock an full 4k when docked
My main issue that just because the switch 2 will be more powerful doesnt mean it brings more to the table. Xbox did the same thing with the series X but i barely touch it because they havent used its capabilities. They rested on laurels. PS5 is in the same boat. They've done better but lacked in their gaming library
Literally why PlayStation Xbox Apple and Samsung are so successful is because they make similar devices that get updated with better graphics and new mechanics that elevate what works Nintendo Switch is so perfect that making a completely new console would be so bad for the company
If the leaks are real. The gimmick is sold separately peripherals. I think it will allow for plenty of creativity from both first and third party games. A lot of gimmicky family friendly games and A TON of big box games
When TOTK Oled leaked there were no strikes on that. And that was final. This is just a prototype, not a final representation of what will come to market. Also most of the pics are someone’s interpretation of the prototype as opposed to a whole clean image of the console in one piece.
What's with Star Fox Zero hate. Using two screen efficiently is part of the game mechanic puzzle you need to solve to master the gameplay. Video game are a play of logic and command. It's like Splatoon gyro gameplay. Don't play sitted or on a tv for competition. You need 360 movement, so handheld, standing up in the middle of a room, you'll use the joystick less. As for Star Fox Zero, hold the gamepad in front of your eye in the same line of sight as the tv, not on your lap. Plus, use your memory to remember level pattern and figuring out how to position and what to shoot first then in what order. And if playing casually, the more reason not to complain.
It’s not a fun puzzle though. Playing Star Fox Zero feels like playing Star Fox 64 with more steps and without the same highs. The levels aren’t as interesting, the bosses are slower than normal, and the vehicles aren’t as exciting as they were previously. I’m sorry, but if the majority of Nintendo die-hard fans aren’t clamoring for a re-release, then the writing is on the wall. Star Fox Zero is a failed experiment.
I’m glad they kept it very similar, the switch is my favorite console, so being able to have a switch but better is fine by me

But I'm not making any full judgement until Nintendo officially announces it.
This just isn't what the Nintendo of the past would do that's my problem. It's just simply... boring. They don't need to change everything, but this design is just the same thing again. Iwata or Reggie wouldn't have allowed this at all.

Agree
tbf the DS/3DS dual-screens make them innovations rather than gimmicks, same as the Switch.
I mean, it's not like we're gonna know what Nintendo is doing based on this leak anyway. it's just...more switch lol

@@ChickenNuggetCancernice comment though
@@ChickenNuggetCancerin hindsight the Xbox Series S existing is a breath of fresh air for the Switch 2.
It is the only logical step to make sense the introduction to the switch because they really can’t just go back to just one or the other. at the same time there's not a 1 to 1 overlap between xbox/ps fans and nintendo fans I don't think, they're different fanbases, I do think nintendo's attracted a crowd with yknow different tastes
It's not the same, joining an already clogged market and doing what the others do when Nintendo has said themselves for years, they don't care what the other two companies do would make them hypocrites.
Where did you get the idea for a camera from? Don't need that lol.
Yeah I didn’t, so what did he say
@@taki7546i think he said that continuing to pursue drastic differences in hardware wont lead to success and instead focusing on software with what they already have will be the winning factor.
Further showing that Furukawa isn't good for Nintendo.
This would allow to bring back plenty of DS/3DS/Wii U ports and concepts and help further differentiate the platform from its competition.
you can't reach console full power like and it would more like a portable console rather than an hybrid, there's a psicological thing over there

I don’t give a fuck what it looks like.
The outward appearance itself is solid, i personally just want them to imrove the hardware and all.
I am still hoping there’s a gimmick even if it’s small
The share gimmick is staying, you want more?
Many of the gimmicks barely get used, so I'd be fine if there was nothing.
Even the Switch had little gimmicks (like IR cameras in joycons) that did next to nothing. If all they do is increase the price of hardware, I'd rather them not be there.
I would love to see a stylus again 😊
the gimmick is that there is no gimmick.. which will lead to no sales..
@corey2232 the switch's gimmick is literally in its name- switching between home and portable console. That's actually it
I hate the narrative that people thought the wiiu was a tablet add-on.
I think it's great when I found out there staying on the same track and made a upgraded switch I couldn't be happier I'll take a dozen 😊
Let them be mad, they will buy it anyway.
It would be perfect if it had analog triggers.

A larger, more powerful Switch, called Switch 2, is exactly what I'm hoping for
I honestly just want something more portable. The original 3DS was the perfect size for a handheld. Even the XL can fit in my pocket.
I find the Switch is too large for that purpose. Increasing in size just makes it even more cumbersome for portable gaming to me.

What I really wish to know the most is : can we play 2 digital on the same account at the same time but one on Switch 1 and the other on Switch 2?
Yes, I remember hearing nintendos CEO saying how he wanted to take Nintendo in a different direction when it came to "innovation."
12GB of RAM is not that bad considering is even more than Xbox Series S
@@codezero7981
Haha yeah that is so true.
@@SireDragonChester haha true, all I want is locked 60fps for all Nintendo games including Zelda.
I hope we get the opportunity to buy wallpapers at the eshop again so that the background isnt so boring anymore 😅
I see absolutely no problem with them going for the iterative system, they've never done it before, so in a way is a form of innovation. 😂
Yeah the SNES was really not comparable to NES in anyway. And N64 … puh where to start …
@@EarnestGamer 30%? The Switch 1 has 0.39 Teraflops. The Switch 2 is rumored to have 4 Teraflops. If that is true the Switch 2 is 10x (1000%) faster …
It’s what’s inside it that counts tbh. Im excited to see what the new spec power can do with the actual games
I Can't handle this leak anymore
Why?
Why the leak is real it’s just not the final version
Lmao “fans” *eyeroll
How many designs can u have for a hand held its a screen with controllers and the slimmer the more portable it is
It seems that it will be fully backward compatible with all the switch library, both physical and digital.
Fans are mad at everything 😂😂😂😂
They want power but dont want to pay the price...
They dont want to pay the price but are mad at lesser hardware!! And give them all the options with pc gaming, console gaming, ps5 and ps5 pro
All mad 😂😂😂
Where there really should be a large level of innovation for customer wants should absolutely be in the games, but also the Joy-cons should be innovated upon. Make the connection for them a lot stronger to support bigger controllers, no drift, AND new interesting joycons with exclusive features like a bigger joycon with a touch pad for similar functionality in games as the duel sense, or even a joy con with enhanced speakers to add bass, OR even a large joycon that has a screen on it for map or start menu view for some games.
They mad because they are fake Nintendo fans. 😅😂
Exactly.
those "new ideas" are just dumb gimmicks that pushed a lot of people away, including third party developers.
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker did well. Mario 3D World did well. Mario Maker did well. I didn't even have a problem with Star Fox Zero.
The Gamepad just wasn't the right step forward and Nintendo had no plan for it outside of "We'll figure it out later." Well, they didn't. They just released the same games they would have released anyway.
Oh, I see, getting mad at the half baked leak of a prototype/devkit which is not 100% guarantee to be true. Some people are just fabulous 👏👏👏
The switch is perfect it just needs tweaks fixes and upgrades we are judging from a blueprint wait till it’s revealed then judge it
I mean if they bring back streetpass I think I'll be happy for the next 8-10 years lol
I thought that the newfound power of Switch 2 will allow a truly open world 3D Mario for the first time in history. In fact, I would love it if it were just the Metro Kingdom of Super Mario Odyssey, but 10 times bigger.
Not "10" but it's "4" than Super Mario Odyssey.
I want a 3D screen if they are gonna port a bunch of 3DS titles.
Bigger being more comfortable only helps some. I have smaller hands and much prefer a smaller console for handheld
I feel like not calling it the Super Nintendo switch, is a huge missed opportunity.
Im happy with it personally. I just want more power mostly. Bigger size is a bonus.
I just wish the Joy-Cons had better ergonomic, it looks like once again I'm going to have to rely on third party alternatives for better comfort which disappointing
An inventory scroll wheel is a convenience, not gameplay....
After all this time since the first switch,
I expected more from the next generation switch
I think switch 1 is uncomfortable to hold as well. Do you use a grip or third party joycons for more ergonomics? I’m excited for bigger joycons and possibly more “meat”on them!
i want analog shoulder buttons back.
Its exacly what I wanted
Really it as powerful as a ps4 portable and pro in dock. I bet these are gen Z who think they want a ps5 or better and think that what we need. No 😅😅😂
Exactly what I want in a switch successor. The same thing but better
The Nintendo Switch 2 leak is amazing , the big screen is the best thing Nintendo need to do with the switch 2 bigger better
I'm not mad because I don't believe leaks but I love watching leakers make fools of themselves when their wrong.
I was kind of hoping the joycons would be more ergonomic. I have pretty large hands. But this should improve on the switch oled I have because the joysticks look bigger. I may have to 3d print grips to make it mor comfortable in handheld.
I’m excited for the reveal of Nintendo next Generation hardware. Wish StarFox ZERO was available on the Nintendo Switch already so I unplugged my WiiU
I can’t wait and happy with what I see. 😅😂
While i love the scrolwheel idea, Nintendo could have implemented a better selection method of items in BotW or Echoes of Wisome.
No legal strike on the leak. Im questioning the validity.
When TOTK Oled leaked there were no strikes on that. And that was final. This is just a prototype, not a final representation of what will come to market. Also most of the pics are someone’s interpretation of the prototype as opposed to a whole clean image of the console in one piece.
the change is most likely in the features and power
Thanks, Myamoto-san! You explain well. ;P
Star Fox Zero should be left alone and never to be touched again, absolutely terrible game.
