I see a lot of echo fans here but keep in mind, in the field are you really going to notice the difference. IMO if a echo dealer is 15min away and a stihl dealer is 2 hours away get an echo, same thing if the stihl dealer was 15 min away. Keep in mind that performance isn’t everything, comfort, and reliability will play into which one you choose.

pb9010 is incredible. I have 9010, 8010 and husky 570....if you need to move leaves the 9010 is amazing....the other 2 are awesome also but there is a noticeable difference with the 9010. I have to get a better fit with strap adjustments for comfort. It really digs into my right shoulder.....awesome blower
Just got the 9010 today and had the 8010 since last year u can tell the difference with blowing power but weight is not bad still baddest blower on the market..I love it and I only ran 1 tank through it so far worth every penny
I have been loyal to Stihl for about 10 years now. They had it right with the br600. When both echo and Stihl were in the great blower race they used the consumers as crash test dummies. I waited until two years ago to buy an 800x. Right at two years the muffler broke loose from the engine and about a month after repair the engine gave out. I believe I’m going to switch to echo. I know nothing is perfect but I have been really happy with my echo chainsaws.
Them pb8010 & pb9010 are the beast for moving & blowing leafs for spring & fall hands down how ever during the summer you really don't need all that power for just blowing grass clippings + I know the br800 is alot less noise & a little lighter. Thanks for the comparison. I've never tried it with mine. ✌
I had an echo blower (655) for 12 years and never did one single bit of maintenance to it and it ran flawlessly. Until one day I accidently ran over it with my car. Dang. So I got this one after watching this video and OMG!!!! INSANE POWER!!! Blows my old echo out of the water. It literally blows so hard it almost pushes you backwards. It's literally harder to walk forward when this thing is going full blast. I can stand on the street and blows leaves that are 50 feet away, no joke.
I've seen some people say that they don't think the 9010 has enough power difference to the 8010, but just from this video I can already tell that the 9010 can do what the 8010 just can't. Also in the case of the stihl 4-mix, as far as valve adjustment goes it really comes down to the user, I have two br600s for six years and just checked the valves for the first time ever this year, and they both were perfectly set. so it's a bit weird that some stihl's need periodic valve adjustments and others don't. But in the end it does come down to preference. Great vid!👍
Go with Sthil hands down even with the 4 mix engines. That 9010 is 26.7 lbs and the Sthil 800x weighs at 23.1 lbs I have a Sthil BR 600 10yrs with only one valve adjustment needed. Both are great machines. I see more pros using Sthil over any brand from blowers / weedeaters / chainsaws/ pruning saws than any brand. I like echo myself and sthil along side Husqvarna. The thing is Sthil is used so much. Redmax along side Sthil will update some massive blowers. Watch out.
@@markclark1605 weight for me isn't a problem, the br800c is 25.8 lbs. and the echo 8010 is about the same.(to clarify the post recall 8010 is a pound heavier than the 8010 prior to the august of 2019 recall) so another pound will most likely be unnoticeable. but I can't wait to see what stihl is going to release to succeed the br800, I'm pretty sure that stihl's next 1000+ cfm monster will also be 26 some odd pounds too.
@@benjaminleslie3155 I agree with you 100% when they make the units larger weight does become a issue. The Sthil BR 800CE has some nice features over any blower offered. Building a four stroke engine and maintaining this weight is impressive. I have owned echo in the past for eight years which was flawless. I own the Husqvarna 580bts and the Sthil BR 600 magnum which is over ten years old that's been flawless. I like a light weight blower myself with comfort. I own both as well, the 9010 is by far a BEAST 800 doesn’t even come close And I’ve always been a Stihl fan but Echo has really raised the bar, aside from recently having more issues with my 800 the simplicity of the engineering in the echo reminds me of the red max and shindawa blowers- simplicity, ruggedness, easy to maintain and clean. Stihl on the other hand is just a tad bit more higher maintenance and delicate. I don’t take my blowers to the dealer unless needed I am very familiar with small engines and power equipment. Price there way to costly they break down to easy you have to tune the right out of box sthil has be come expensive trash the only good thing so far are there saws I do trees and the ms 193 is a beast .. but the echo 355 t has my attention that for sure
I prefer the stihl. The echo isn’t as robust with plenty of exposed parts that can break or snag. Stihl is proven and with the waist pull starter is user friendly
Glad to see a wet leaf test. Here in NWPA, come leaf season it's usually raining. I run all Still for backpacks only because I haven't had any luck with Echo lasting more than a couple seasons and I seem to get about 3-4 seasons out of a Sthil before it needs a new carb. My last Echo was a PB755 and it was out of warranty within two weeks and the dealer said sorry and at that time I ran everything Echo. They've since went out of business and the other, smaller Echo dealer is a poop show so I stick with Sthil. We do however run Echo SRM225 for trimmers and 4 Echo chain saws and love them!
I own Echo's, Redmax(Husqvarna), stihl in all flavors. Echo's by far are the least maintenance of all these. I don't have a 9010, but own 3 8010's and just friday I had a bearing go out and is being warrantied by Echo. You really can't beat the customer service Echo provides and will eventually go all Echo.
At one time I worked for the county I live in we used blowers every day we had still an echo the echo blower is lighter, weight and more powerful. The echo is a true two cycle engine. The steel is really a four cycle engine that burns two cycle fuel after so many hours you have to take this steel and have the valves adjusted.
I think the issue may be that the stihl has a bigger opening at the end of the tube? Maybe try a nozzle to narrow it, I bet they will have more comparable results. Good vid!
The Echo definitely has more power, but what about longevity. I have some Stihl equipment that is more than 25 years old and still in operation. Stihl works for me.
At beginning of the video when I’m blowing, if you listen the stihl almost died, as I call the other guy over to blow the bushes. But the power has always felt the same.
@@LanierLawnCare That’s what I thought. The company I work for we run 800’s and two of them have this problem non stop and can’t figure out why there doing it. I have a 8010 at home and I’d take the 8010 and probably the 9010 all day over the 800.
Stihl products have gone down hill! I'm a stihl gold technician and I can say I've seen more siezed up motors vs echo products I see very few with issue's If you run good oil and non ethanol fuel you'll be good to go.
Agreed. Been running Stihl falling saws for 25 years as a federal wildland firefighter. They used to be bomb proof and reliable. Now they're finicky and cheap. I use Echo products for personal use and there isn't even a contest.
I had the echo 8010 until some a-hole stole it. I decided to get the Stihl 800 c-e. It was a downgrade. It felt like I bought the br350. The sthil was more expensive but it's more comfortable and it starts while you have it on your back.
You Win with Either but Here's the big differences: 1. Power Echo 2.Stihl BR800 2. Fuel consumption: 1. Stihl BR800 2. Echo 9010 Clear and visual fuel tank: 1. Echo 9010 2. Stihl BR800 Looks 1. Stihl 2. Echo Take the Echo and put the stihl tip and you get a insane focus with power and velocity
Pushing big piles of leaves like that in a open area, I would use take a push blower over either any day. Much better ground control adjusting the chute means you don't have to do spots over and over, plus you can adjust the chute to control the distance.
Camera doesn't give the feel of the power.I have tried both and ended up buying the 9010.I did like the stihl extedable tube and the side start but power wise,it was Echo.
Been using backpacks for 30 plus yrs. Their both good, the Stihl sounds like an old Honda SL70, it needs exhaust opened up and tuned and it's money. The Echo is on point outta the box, in the past I've had trouble w stuff like throttle cables, pull starters etc. In my case I don't use em much but my Mexicans run the hell out of em, and they don't give a damm, walking destruction. That to me lends itself to the Stihl. I always tell people cuz I'm constantly asked what they should buy, if you wanna find out how good somn is just put it in a Mexicans hands and see how long till it breaks. Hardest workers on the planet, just not real bright....Roost

@@LanierLawnCare Its a larger machine with massive power for sure. We may be in a back pack leaf blower war. I have not seen any indication yet, will be next fall I think before anyone else releases one. Echo will be tested or defeated, Redmax for sure is watching echo. All I can say is time will tell. IMO sthil makes the most comfortable power to ratio blower hands down with more features. I like my BR 800X hands down over my Husqvarna 580bts which has been extremely reliable. The sthil is only 23.1 lbs dry weight. Impressive machine. I like all the other brands also.
Just remember not to go rambo on small properties, these giant blowers make the small job harder to do. You gotta have a variety of cc's in your inventory
I own ehco chainsaw. GREAT chainsaw been looking at that blower. Sorry its the 800. I see echo is more direct but the 800 has more radius moving power. Still undecided!
The Schroeder is 80cc according to the website. Less performance for larger displacement and no dealer network is gonna be a tough sell. Personally the CFM is more important than the 270 mph they offer. But they have a good warranty and the blower is 22lbs. Maybe they can get some of the market, can only make it better for us.
YES. Massive difference in the field. You honestly wont know unless you run one for a day. The 9010s power and ability to move large piles is mind blowing. It will even move large piles of matted down pine straw. Show me another blower that will do that. Good luck.
not a fanboy of either, sounds like the stihl was tuned like my old one...horribly. I have products from both companies and I love both companies. But stihl from the factory in my experience between chainsaws etc seems to have the atf mixture off enough to drop quite a few rpms.
I mention that in the video as i feel the same. However, Even though the 800C would be a little closer I feel it still wouldnt be as good as the 9010 in big piles or wet matted stuff.
Stihl 4 stroke 2cycle mix can be troublesome. Echo is just simply more simple all around. Perhaps louder but l am half deaf so can't really tell how much louder .lol
Echo over everything!! But when did the 9010 come out??? I have the 8010 and it’s a beast is it a lot stronger??? Pretty soon Echo is going to put a rocket engine in a backpack blower!😲😮😮😂😂😂
They announced it Last Month and when it hits your dealers is really up to your dealer. Its more power but only really noticeable noticeable over the 8010 when in wet matted stuff or bigger piles
this blower br800 is unfortunately a big disappointment. I expected a lot more power. It is maybe 10 pricent more powerful than the BR700. For me it is quite a disappointment and I am considering selling it
I was looking at the new echo at a dealer. The sales representative recommended Sthil over the echo. He said echo was the home owners grade. I have used echo and had good service as a homeowner for sure. I admit it now sthil is really high quality. I have the Sthil BR 600 that will be 11 years old and flawless. Also have the BR 800X and the Husqvarna 580bts. All three units are more quality built over the echo 9010t. IMO! No disrespect towards echo 9010t I think it looks low quality. The echo 770t is a nice built blower though.

@@vette9305 I must say sthil has yet to impress me 10 years in the yard game and sthil had been on a steady downhill slide theg ad shit to there equipment that just Jake's up the price and serve zero function of any kind like the extra bit of plastic over the spark plug boot that shit serves zero purpose other then to any one when trying to check or replace the plug and again. Price there way to costly they break down to easy you have to tune the right out of box sthil has be come expensive trash the only good thing so far are there saws I do trees and the ms 193 is a beast .. but the echo 355 t has my attention that for sure
For sure. Echo all day long.
I prefer the stihl. The echo isn’t as robust with plenty of exposed parts that can break or snag. Stihl is proven and with the waist pull starter is user friendly
I will be looking at the new Echo chainsaws as soon as they are released.
I have the BR800. The 9010 does beat it. In my opinion if the 800 does not fit a person’s need they should buy a stand on blower.
Blowing techniques seems a little biased. Compare with Stihl 800c-e and use anemometer?
Sthil machines are beast !!
Stihl trash
Good vid!
i was thinking the same thing. The echo barrell looks much more narrow
Swith the sthil nozzle so they have the same diameter. Maybe it will make a difference.
The Echo definitely has more power, but what about longevity. I have some Stihl equipment that is more than 25 years old and still in operation. Stihl works for me.
I have an Echo GT-2400 from the mid 90's, still starts one pull, original plug and carb. Stihls are full of problems anymore
I want same guy run different blowers they both have different techniques can't tell which one is better
Question:Does that 800x like to cut off at idle and ever feel like you aren’t getting max power from the motor?
At beginning of the video when I’m blowing, if you listen the stihl almost died, as I call the other guy over to blow the bushes. But the power has always felt the same.
@@LanierLawnCare That’s what I thought. The company I work for we run 800’s and two of them have this problem non stop and can’t figure out why there doing it. I have a 8010 at home and I’d take the 8010 and probably the 9010 all day over the 800.
Valve adjustment
Firing Coil or the muffler screen..carburator?
Stihl products have gone down hill! I'm a stihl gold technician and I can say I've seen more siezed up motors vs echo products I see very few with issue's If you run good oil and non ethanol fuel you'll be good to go.
Agreed. Been running Stihl falling saws for 25 years as a federal wildland firefighter. They used to be bomb proof and reliable. Now they're finicky and cheap. I use Echo products for personal use and there isn't even a contest.
Where did you get that sweatshirt Danny
From TORO
Hey bud that blower is a beast !
Echo sounded higher rpm to my ears ,seen it tho echo won this round
Yeah isn’t the stihl a 4 stroke?
The sound is deceiving because we equate that 2 stroke scream with power, but the 800 motor is a secret 4 stroke. Don't watch with your ears
Does the length of the nozzle play a role??
Nice video. What’s the price comparison on these blowers?
Both are same price
I got to say the Echo did a lot better. I actually thought the Stihl was gonna be better, but I was wrong Danny.
Hey Bill, Thanks for watching and commenting Sir!
@@LanierLawnCare You are very welcome Danny. Anytime brother.
Can it blow acorns around?
I had the echo 8010 until some a-hole stole it. I decided to get the Stihl 800 c-e. It was a downgrade. It felt like I bought the br350. The sthil was more expensive but it's more comfortable and it starts while you have it on your back.
Old video, but just by listening to the two machines its easy to understand how the echo did better imo
Nice video
Thanks Sir!
You Win with Either but Here's the big differences: 1. Power Echo 2.Stihl BR800 2. Fuel consumption: 1. Stihl BR800 2. Echo 9010 Clear and visual fuel tank: 1. Echo 9010 2. Stihl BR800
Looks 1. Stihl 2. Echo Take the Echo and put the stihl tip and you get a insane focus with power and velocity
Compared to the size start Stihl Blower
Pushing big piles of leaves like that in a open area, I would use take a push blower over either any day. Much better ground control adjusting the chute means you don't have to do spots over and over, plus you can adjust the chute to control the distance.
Camera doesn't give the feel of the power.I have tried both and ended up buying the 9010.I did like the stihl extedable tube and the side start but power wise,it was Echo.
Is the Stihl quieter than the echo?
yes
I like stihl pro saws but I'm not a fan of there 4 mix motors in there big blows .
I'm going to buy the big Echo.
yep I saw that...it tried to lift it.....damn...xmas is coming..maybe somebody can b nice to me and get me the 9010🤣
Awesome video, impressivr
They need a big raise$ too
@@kroosvillicana3475 man it's getting to where even Mexicans don't wanna work anymore, thanks to biden
Lol best comment ever
Where can I get some Mexicans??
@@brianredban9393 man there's plenty here in SE Texas, but w biden giving them money, cell phones, meal cards, etc their all turning black
Looks like echo has a wider path and pushing more leaves than the stihl
The 800 feels like a toy when you actually get these two machines side by side.
@@LanierLawnCare I own a 8010, I'm very pleased with it, plenty of power, man that thing sounds just like a dirt bike! I plan on buying one more backpack blower, probably gonna be the new 9010
Pulls that wet stuff from the ground easier also
@@LanierLawnCare Its a larger machine with massive power for sure.
@@LanierLawnCare agreed, feels like a toy.
9010 is loud as hell. Greetings to the neighbours. Im Stihl fan BR600 BR700 BR800. But the 9010 is more powerfull. Thats rigt, but is it nessesary ?
Non of you talk about wich one is heavier on weight
Just remember not to go rambo on small properties, these giant blowers make the small job harder to do. You gotta have a variety of cc's in your inventory
Good comparison! Good video! God bless.
I own ehco chainsaw. GREAT chainsaw been looking at that blower. Sorry its the 800. I see echo is more direct but the 800 has more radius moving power. Still undecided!
How much did the echo 9010 cost you Mr Lanier?
They are 599
@@LanierLawnCare thank you for replying! Was this a demo unit or did you actually have opportunity to already purchase one.
Found mine on Arlington Power Equipment shipped for $559
@@RuggedIndividual1990 decided to go with the Stihl BR800 C-E MAGNUM. Had to pay more for it, but you know the old saying you pay for what you get.
Check out the Schroeder 90cc for around $450.00 5 year warranty also
The sthil sounds like it’s farting
Boom!
STIHL BR 800X MAGNUM 👏❤👏
I have a 800c for sale lol
Redmax may be making a 9500 soon. Sthil will make a upgrade as well as Husqvarna.
Cant Wait to see what the other companies bring to the table
All of husqvarna 500 series blowers are made by red max. They're pretty much the same thing
Yeah it’s a little faster not by much
Notification Squad!
There is a big difference in capability between the 800x and the 800c.
I mention that in the video as i feel the same. However, Even though the 800C would be a little closer I feel it still wouldnt be as good as the 9010 in big piles or wet matted stuff.
I'm sorry, I saw that as I finished the video. You are right the 9010 is the new king!
No problem! Thank you for watching.
Stihl 4 stroke 2cycle mix can be troublesome. Echo is just simply more simple all around. Perhaps louder but l am half deaf so can't really tell how much louder .lol
15 plus years exp right here. The echo model blows stihl out of the water
Echo n 1..
Holy s.........
That Echo
Good video but gotta stick with echo
Use both to blow a car battery on the ground
Who still has leafs 😂😂 now I want some
*leaves
this blower br800 is unfortunately a big disappointment. I expected a lot more power. It is maybe 10 pricent more powerful than the BR700. For me it is quite a disappointment and I am considering selling it
I wanna put the end of that echo in a pond and see what that looks like.
Why is everyone so fixated on performance and ignoring the life span of an echo vs stihl. Echo will last 3x longer!
It's also all about user comfort. And the stihls harness is unbeaten in my opinion. I can wear it all day and don't ever really notice it on my back.
@@markclark1605 try the Schroeder better than both 5 year warranty
@@markclark1605 mate there's been so many problems with stihl br-800's. maintenance and upkeep is stupid on the 4-mix. Adjusting the valves every 20-30 hours. Your sales rep doesn't know what hes talking about if he's telling you that shit. echo has them beat on blowers. This is coming from a stihl guy.. i wanted the stihl br-800 so badly because I am brand loyal most of the time but echo 9010 is the clear winner here. It's a 2-stoke. more power and simple design. My mate who runs a landscaping business is fed up with the stihl blowers too... takin his advice and everyone else who's tried both of these side by side.
@@Grover91 have you ever used a Husqvarna? I've got 3 580bts and they are the most comfortable I have ever used in my life
Yep, seems like the stihl has been put to shame. Because that air speed was it's one trump card over the 8010, I cannot wait to see what stihl is going to put out against the echo!!!
Br900 I bet...I think echo is pretty good and I'm definitely not a fan of the 4mix, but I'm not loyal to any brand at the moment and I bet some big time echo fanatics will need a trigger warning if the br900 is better..
@@Zachpoteet380 Redmax will return as king of the backpacks, wait and see. Sthil will sneak in on the action too. Sad, echo had to remake the 9010 for the flaws of the 8010 with so many recalls from the first year with the straps blower elbow bellow boot collapsing at the cost of the owner. Saw this on you tube. It surprised me that echo as good as a company they are did not honor this.
@@markclark1605 I saw the flex tube on the pb8010 kinking on a sg ninjas video and I thought "echo, are you serious?" And I also heard about them breaking down quickly and I see on comparison videos that it's really not that much more powerful than the pb770, and even if it was, the 770 is more reliable. Is it really worth the extra $100 for the former 8010 over the 770? I think not. I know the 8010 ain't made anymore, but maybe the 9010 is better, but if red max makes a ebz9500 we'll see.
