Kraton 4s would be a fun project. Sounds like there will be some happy followers. The 3s cars are great for younger beginners to the hobby, since they can just run on 2s until they get the hang of the controls. Kudo's to you for passing on the unused rc's, you don't have to give them away, most would just list them locally on FB marketplace or Craigslist, and put the money from them into the next project.
I gotta get some new tires and rear driveshaft for the granite, as for a giveaway i think the best way is to do it randomly like not a dedicated vid but just in one of the vids announce it, that way its not just random new subs entering but ones that watch your vids and enjoy the content

I haven’t ran it enough but so far this thing is a blast I have the new gears coming for it in a day or two and new belted tires so we will see what it’s like with that set up.

Been on the fence quite a while on which system I'm going with on my Xmaxx. You've pretty much answered my question with this video. Awesome looking setup Dude ! I know you don't like them but I've been running the Duratrax Sixpacks on mine (stock power though) and have ran many packs through it with zero issues. They are belted and I did have one bead to start coming loose but I noticed it early and fixed it. They've held up well for me. However....with your current system they may not hold together but might be worth a try. They're fairly cheap and lighter than the other brand. Look forward to more running with this beast. Great vid !!!
I’m just really gun shy with those tires because I had such terrible luck with that brand in the past but many people are telling me to try them out on this thing, maybe I will have to?

Great video can’t wait to see it on some belted tires. I picked up the Masher X HP belted tires for the XMaxx they have loads of grip. I did have issues with mine but there’s another story. I’m about to put a new power plant in the XMaxx. Not sure what yet but I was thinking Max 5 1600 combo for mine. I’ve been one of the lucky ones who has been able to run all stock electronics for almost 20 packs now. Time for more POWAH!!!!!! 👊👊👍👍

But if you have everything for it to run including a charger then maintenance parts aren't so expensive.
Giving away rc’s you don’t use is a good idea, some people can also use parts for there existing cars as well. I have no idea why, but all stock, i strip out all gears except wfo gears. Probably user abuse! 👍💯
I just blew out the stock motor in my brand new XMAXX pulled it today and the shaft is sitting at an angle Traxxas is going to replace it but I’m interested in something more you still like this set up?
I’m gonna put the hobby wing max 6 combo on my Kraton. What im worried about is connecting the ESC wires to ic5 connectors because all my batteries are ic5. I’m such a noob I can’t figure out what cord I need to buy so I can solder those two wires from the ESC to whatever that cord is so I can plug in two batteries when I’m done. Does that make sense? Like do I solder each ESC wire to it’s own ic5 connector? Or do I need like a different cord?

I wish there was a way for you to give it to a sub that may want one but doesn't currently have one, or may not be able to purchase one because of the situation they are in. Yup. The stock tires don't stand a chance with all that power. Duratrax lockup x 24mm belted tires would serve you well. That's what I use with my X-Maxx trucks with big electronics. You just have to reglue them once in a while. Great bash. I Suggest that you try to lower that esc.
No sir duratrax tires will not last neither.... Don't waste ya money... You need proline Badlands, trenchers, or try the masher x.... Take it from a guy whom has had 3 800kv xmaxx's I've built.. I 💯
@@Bro_wdf_you_doing The biggest problem with the duratrax lockups x is that you have to be regluing them unfortunately. But I've been using them for like a year now. But I do agree that the proline Trenchers 4.3 are better. I didn't like the 4.3 badlands. They were way too stiff for 30ft plus jumps.

Yeah, I ran into a lot of problems with this whole set up with gearing and overheating and other problems that I went back to the stock motor with the max 5ESC with 20/50 gearing

Well the lower the KV of motor usually the higher you have to gear it I would try somewhere around a 23 or 25 tooth and see what the temperatures are if it’s running really cool go up a few more teeth and try that
It’s far from slow. I can’t get on it more then 1/4 throttle is the problem. It’s got to much low end power. I got new gears on it now will see how it’s goes like this.
@@BarstoneRC as far as I know, 54t is stock, 50 and 46 are the Traxxas optional spurs. Going mod1.5 gears gives an option to 35t spur. I got my mod1.5 gears from WFO.
Good to know! I haven’t ordered a spur yet but I do have the different pinion coming but again I’m going to run it with the new tires and if the temperature stay good like you said if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
It's crazy you said your gearing is 35 or 33 whichever you said I got a 34 50 in mine and then you said you're dropping to a 28 I got a 29 laying in the bag waiting to go in mine if I decide to great minds must think alike 😂😂😂

Well if you need to set it up so you’re running to batteries or you can run to batteries they have to be in series.

Battery connections been holding up fine I’m still running the max5 but now with the 1100 KV motor
is this the best motor /esc combo for the xmaxx? i have my xmaxx 8s for a year now and my motor just gave out today.
No I was not happy with this motor in this truck if your motor went out try the 1100 KV motor with your stock ESE for now
@@BarstoneRC for reals? So just get a motor? And still use a stock esc? Just asking cause this is the first time i have to research whats the durable/affordable motor or esc combo.
Unless you’re going for a ridiculous power I would just swap the motor out for now and see how you like it and go from there

I’ve had 20/50 on it and 45/50 so far with no problems

Well the lower the KV of motor usually the higher you have to gear it I would try somewhere around a 23 or 25 tooth and see what the temperatures are if it’s running really cool go up a few more teeth and try that

They really need to fix up the track, you use to be able to do a lot more jumps. Now it is just jumping over clumps of dirt they have not fixed.

It’s far from slow. I can’t get on it more then 1/4 throttle is the problem. It’s got to much low end power. I got new gears on it now will see how it’s goes like this.

He's running 50t spur 35t pinion on Max5 800kv combo. Most people run 1:1 ratio with this combo.

I cannot seem to find a 35 tooth XMaxx gear the spur that is?
@@BarstoneRC as far as I know, 54t is stock, 50 and 46 are the Traxxas optional spurs. Going mod1.5 gears gives an option to 35t spur. I got my mod1.5 gears from WFO.
Good to know! I haven’t ordered a spur yet but I do have the different pinion coming but again I’m going to run it with the new tires and if the temperature stay good like you said if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

It's crazy you said your gearing is 35 or 33 whichever you said I got a 34 50 in mine and then you said you're dropping to a 28 I got a 29 laying in the bag waiting to go in mine if I decide to great minds must think alike 😂😂😂
