You should commit your RC car energy to creating your own RC Car company building them to the markets Highest apex of Durability with all steel & or aluminum or titanium parts
The Xmaxx just inspires confidence like no other RC. You can send it to the moon and drive away, or you can be gentle and it will last forever. You can even convert it to an XRT and it’s slightly faster than an XRT. Xmaxx, 4 batteries, charger, hop ups, and XRT swap parts is less than $2,000. I’ve had mine box stock for 4 months and I regularly go the BMX track and I’ve never broken anything. I still have the OG servo.

Nice work as always Kev. Apart from one or two places, Traxxas really knocked it out of the park with the Xmaxx design. It just takes a kicking. I think I remember you saying you might get a private pilots license, for travelling back and forth to the mainland. Do take us on that trip with you.

what are best tyres for bashing an xmaxx??? stock or sledgehammers? or any other than gives such good air control as stock? as i have belted tyres now and don’t like how it basically lost all the air control :(

Here’s a Suggestion if you could some land you could do a big project and make a skate park in the back of your house and then you can bash all day long
I just imagine being a kid, looking out my window, and seeing grown men holding up a ramp so RC cars can jump off it higher. Also, what an awesome island, going to need some crazy grippy shoes for those slippery rocks!

Yes I agree with you mate,RCMan is a great addition ,BUT we're going to lose all the regular crew the people he's been friends with for years,Stempy ,Ian and Claire, Dave ( hard-core rc ) and his sons,Martin and kids,Vinnie, Jono,8s Steve,Mitchell ,Jason from Redfin Models,racing at Arc raceway and all the others we've got to know through his videos.
Nothing against RCMan and the others on the Isle of Man but I think the videos will lose something as the others have been with him for years. Hopefully he'll come back and make videos with the original crew from time to time as there is genuine camaraderie there,especially with Stempy as they've been mates since they were little kids
friends and family is the only thing im going to miss about the UK. I'll be back every few weeks to see everyone and play RC's :)

I wonder if you could modify skateboard/longboard wheels for the top speed car. Theyd just need a tiny rim to fit where the bearings usually go. But the extra weight & mass could possibly help dampen/slow the urge for the tires to break-loose. Also the soft, compliant & heavy material would absorb shock & bumps & keep the car more planted at speed imo
Love my Xmaxx I run mine on two smc 7600 150c lipos and it has so much power, other than the roof rack I think I’ll upgrade the servo later on and that’s all it needs it’s pretty much perfect out of the box 😊
You're right, that area looks like it was made for RC. Would really like to see the houses you're looking at and to know what the asking prices are. After military service (100% DAV) I became a real estate broker, retired in 2006.

Yes, onex lipos are awesome we have 2s and 3s ones and they work great and are very powerful

from my opiniàn. i think the xmaxx is the best electric rc car. but if you take all . i prefer the Hormann HT4 or the fg Marder. those things are freaking good.

So regarding your foam tyre issue I was wondering why rubber tyres like something similar to a car racing tyre would not be sufficient?
Real car tires always have some kind of reinforcement bakes in, like steel mesh. Also rc tires have foam inside them that is much more susceptible to centrifugal force that regular air or nitrogen. Rc cars also have a ridiculous amount of wheel rpm, and if scaled up would be faster than any car ever
