It sounds just like a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk but only from the exhaust noise when it is accelerating. You don’t get as much of that supercharger whine in the Trackhawk.
I actually measured, and it wouldn’t fit in my garage by about 6 inches. Trackhawk fits with ten inches to spare. Always loved the Durango though, and it deserved this motor.
My 2019 Pilot fits with a few feet of space in front and a foot of space in the rear, don’t know how it compares to Durango but I assume it can also fit

It’s such a perfect combination of utility and performance, with a bunch of luxury thrown in. I never liked the Durango, at least compared to the Jeep GC, but in Hellcat form, it’s just about perfect.

The Durango Hellcat is a bit like a hippo. It may be fat and big, but don't underestimate its sheer grunt. Big difference is that it attacks the roads with whines of its iconic supercharged V8, and that's a good thing.

The Durango also seems to have more sound deadening. You don’t hear much from the outside with the windows up and that unfortunately includes the whine.
@@S8ER good point but, I personally experienced with my 16 challenger hellcat, with simply changing to long tube headers, I virtually could no longer hear the supercharger wine. Only just. Then I replaced the factory inclosed intake with a bwoody cold air intake, it was louder than ever. Huge difference Almost to the point as why would someone do this to their car lol.
@@jaystepp150 good info! I have heard the JLT on the DDHC and the whine is definitely way louder. I don't know how it compares to a stock Charger/Challenger HC though, that would be interesting to know. The redeye also has a larger blower and I suspect it whines much louder than the normal hellcats... any insight?
@@S8ER the couple of guys I’ve meet with red eyes still have the factory intake, but the red eyes factory intakes are already terrific. I imagine not much room for improvement.

That's roughly what we see in ours... 6.5 was a low and 8 was the high (includes school pickup and dropoff). Family trips we see 15+ on the highway but the majority of our driving is around town in track mode.
@@S8ER Crazy, good job your fuel is cheap! I get around 48 mpg out my Lexus IS hybrid, with our current fuel prices it just cost £81 to fill up 55 litres, that translates to $108 🤣
