It's all engine, no supercharger or turbo. Dodge just puts the biggest engine in it like an old school muscle(suv)car. It sounds great and I like how it the back squats down when you mash the throttle.

It is, but Dodge (as part of FCA) can't afford the R&D so they put older style engines in. That's why they don't even bother selling them in many countries.
YES, I certainly agree. But, they are also attracting the OLD type person. IMHO...most younger type people want LOTS of power hp and torque, but in a small engine. So, Dodge is also missing an entire demographic in potential sales.

I seriously wish the Chief Designers of all the major car brands watches your videos because there is a lot they can learn from you guys and thus hopefully change for the next refresh... the small things you notice which some manufactures constantly overlook... like the usage of piano black trims on high traffic areas, the lack of physical knobs/switches for volume/tuning and climate controls, etc.... you guys are smart and entertaining... simply brilliant!

May only get 12 miles to the gallon but thats similar to a heavy duty pickup and its FASTER THAN HELL so its worth it in my book
My family just recently bought this car.. We went from a RT Durango to a SRT Durango.. it's a huge difference, the AWD makes it pick up with ease, the 500 HP engine makes it quick and fast, and mixed in with the AWD you can even beat the Challenger Scatpack (If the driver is good enough)
This car is just amazing, the interior or also great. The SRT Race seats, as well as the steering wheel, the amazing sound in the car and also the new hud on the computer!
Overall, dodge did AMAZING on this car, and definitely is worth its price... REALLY, worth its price.
How do they not have at least a million subscribers yet!? They should be up there with the best TH-cam car reviewers!

The Durango superseded the Jeep Commander back in 2010 as the seven seater for the company. My Commander is an '06 with the 5.7 and it's already brutal. Can't imagine how savage these things are now...

Definitely the perfect car for a young dad hauling 3 kids around...like myself 🤦♂️. I went with the 2017 Durango citadel and this later came out...needless to say I was pissed lol. Love the channel!

Yep, that's for US gallons. For Canadian (Imperial) it's 13.45. I do this because I like to refer to my previous Tahoe which always got 16MPG imperial city, highway and everything else. It ALWAYS got 16!

Just like that Sierra Denali (so, 6.0/AWD) I drove for a few months many years back when. No matter what, 14mpg. Easy on it, hard on it, loaded up, unloaded, highway, city, whatever... 14.
Sometimes 14.5 and then you can almost tell people it gets "mid teens" and not be lying
My friend has a 15’ charger R/T straight piped and omggg the upshift noise is incredible. That 8 speed is stupid fast too, the upshift is really really aggressive out of first and second. The sound is absolutely incredible and the engine is relentless and resists the beating he gives it everyday.

We just gotten a Durango (15) but the base model SXT. But it's a big upgrade from the Windstar 😬. We are blessed to get it especially how are financially wise. But damn I wish I could get this for my mother. That's her dream trim model.

Awesome car! Would totally pay for it, if I had the money. Looks very luxurious despite being Dodge, looks and sounds great, and the fuel economy thing, 1st you probably ran that in Sport/Track mode the entire time you had possession of the vehicle, and 2nd you probably constantly floored it and revved it (nothing wrong with either!), so in standard use I feel this vehicle would be closer to 15 MPG in terms of fuel economy. I drive a 2004 Tahoe LT 5.3l v8 and i get anywhere between 15 and 18 mpg based on how I drive and what all I do in it.
Bottom line, this vehicle seems great! Extremely good engine and power, capability of hauling over 8,000 LBs of weight, plenty of cargo space with the third row seating down (and still a decent amount with the third row up), can haul 6 people COMFORTABLY (I know mini-vans can haul 8 people [2 up front, 3 in second and 3 in third], but it is not comfortable being sandwiched between two other people with your legs stuck to the back of the seat in front of you), has tons of luxuries (2 screens for a DVD player, 2 headphones and remote, audio ports on the sides of the front seats and maybe the second row seating, leather seats, more), and is simply a cool looking vehicle.

IMO, I feel that this is the closet thing we will get to an new-age SRT wagon (R.I.P. Magnum), but I would LOVE to see a Magnum reboot with Charger Hellcat styling cues. Wouldn't you?
Furthermore, if we are patient and lucky enough, there could be a Trackhawk/Hellcat equivalent of the SRT Durango in the near future, from allied sources. Keep your eyes peered.
I wonder what Chevy/Ford and others would/could produce in response to the SRT Durango, because FCA is winning and I'm attracted to winners. Time to step up the game, competition. Do it before we all have to go 100% EV.

Bought a 2016 Durango R/T AWD for the wife last summer, she loved it. end of last year got my self a STS-v now my wife want an SRT Durango so she has more horse power than I do...FML but I love the reason why.

I am honestly surprised that the Dodge Durango in any variant aren't selling more per month. This car is a solid choice and exceeds the Toyota Highlander and so many others.

I like that when they brought out the the Durango SRT they gave it a distinctive grill, but they gave the same grill to the R/T right after, I wish that grill was exclusive to the SRT.

FYI, Jacob/Yuri, The Camaro had the (302) Before the Mustang, Just like how the Mustang wasn't the 1st Pony Car. 305's weren't used until (1976) when the Government/Emissions "Crushed" the Power output.

How Bad is the Fuel price in Canada/near Straightpipes? Is it sold by the liter like in Europe? FYI, Car & Driver got 18mpg (13L/100km) in their All around testing.. so if you can drive it like a normal person (LOL) it's not that bad. I'd be getting what your dash said 27L /100 km.

The price is just stupid crazy I have an 01 rango slt 4.7 and brand new then they cost like $34k
*392 Hemi* may have the same displacement but it's different from the 6.4L. Starting with the 2015 model year, the new 392 Hemi has 485hp and the revised 6.4L has 475hp. Prior to that it was just one 470hp 6.4L SRT V8 (first introduced as SRT8 392 in 2011).

The fact that its not a 7-seater kinda detracts from the usefulness of the 3rd row! You might as well get a Grand Cherokee SRT that seats 5 and leaves you with a big trunk. But for a family of 6, this is badass

This is a awesome CUV, but why don't they make a SRT Ram 1500? Imagine a street version of the Rebel with the 392 with a tuned up transmission, magnetic ride and adjustable sway bars, and a big roaring exhaust.

Couldn’t afford an SRT Durango yet so I went with a Ford Explorer sport because my wife says I can’t have a mustang or challenger anytime soon so I went with the ford. One day I’ll get me a SRT Durango. It’s very aggressive looking.

I have this exact color dodge durango srt. I wish I got the upgraded leather/suede trim. I have the upgraded red leather seats, which you have to have, but the stock sound system is plenty for 99% people out there. I wish I could afford the Beats, but the stock is still I believe Meridian.

You guys should try and get a 2018 GMC Yukon XL Denali Callaway. My mom has one and it’s the best thing ever, and has a 6.2L Supercharged V8 and makes 560 horsepower

I can’t wait till the srt team goes and throws the 6.4 supercharged hemi (hellcat engine) in the Durango like they did in the trachhawk. I know they only did it as a commemoration of the original Jeep Grand Cherokee srt 8 but it would amazing in a Durango.
