Waking up to Josh opening the video, this is gonna be a great day. The deck doesn’t look like something Id use, or have space for but it is a sweet piece of gear. Maybe sometime in the future I’ll need to get one lol.
I'm incredibly impressed by the simple functionality of this, it seems like a great piece of kit to really improve on editing workflow and make for more productive days whilst editing footage... now i'm going to look at the price and (probably) scream in dispair.
The knobs for colour correcting are great, but the rest can just be done by making keybinds in the Premiere settings (Such as E on my keyboard is Export
Xbox360 properly set up with one of many 3rd party programs works miracles. Kensington Expert Mouse with its extra large trackball adds to it. Pretty much all one would need to edit, for well under 100 bucks.
Love seeing how organized Lucas is with his timeline workflow. Felt like seeing an AE layout with all of those layers! Top shelf Emmy award winning stuff right there. Pretty cool piece of hardware, although I'd rather stick to the shortcut keys on the keyboard because that's what all YT tutorials vehemently stressed for you to learn when you started out, lol! Great video!
You can do this with an old tablet and some software, but dang if tactile buttons aren't the best! It also looks like they have the hard work done for you.
I love my loopdeck +. I remember when I first opened it. It didnt support Apple FCPX. I wrote a long letter begging them to add FCPX. They did it! Thank you Loop Deck!
Talking about organising the time alone for audio. I use group busses and masters for dx vo fx cloth feet atmos music. This way I can send a mix off and still export stems. Allowing for rebalancing after or dubs in other languages. This way they dont have to completely remix everything they just record the new dialog to the same level, throw in the other stems and done.
Hi good, nice video! After I saw it I bought the keyboard and I am very happy. A perhaps stupid question: how do I make the "CTRL" "ALT" "SHIFT" keys work? Thanks from Italy
Just looked at the site, the price is actually great! Anyone doing wedding videos could cut down their editing by half with this, and maybe finally get a full night's sleep! Boy, that'd be something.
I was going to buy it, the idea seems great to me, but many reviews from buyers say the hardware is bad, the buttons fail after a couple of months of use and things like that. It would be great to improve this aspect so as not to feel that I would be losing 250 dollars.
Thank you for spending so much time on the audio. But if the budget allows and post sup organized, The sound editor will do it quicker and better with Pro Tools
Oh he definitely knows what it is. That was just a clever dig on Mac, as in "I don't know what this is cause I don't use a Mac." Subtle and awesome joke ;)
I managed to build my own homemade loupedeck with an old midi controler and a signal translation sowfware. I can controle entirely premiere from that exept for the color grading since premiere have no keyboard shortcuts for grading.
Wow first tip hit hard. That's someting I discovered on my own. I'm still not really good at but I practice. What I'm thinking is. If you can tell a compelling story over the radio (podcast) then adding visuals will just make it so much better! That's the reason you should really make the story telling work without video!
(To preference, I'm mainly a news video editor) This is something I could really only see an artist with photoshop or a color grade person using. It's got in point and out point buttons but doesn't have a button for inserting that selection to the timeline (which just means you'd have to drag it over which is slower) which is that first thing that would make this thing a no for me. It also doesn't really solve the problem of making everything you use normally in one location. The biggest problem with premiere's defult is that in, out, and insert are at an unconfortable angle if you use those 3 a ton like I do every day, it really starts to hurt. That's why I changed the layout of "I" and "O" to be "W" and "E" and use "F" instead of "," way more confortable. I also moved everything from the select and cut tools, to the adjust gain, to delete key to be in a different spot so that all the stuff I use the most editing news at work and editing films at home will all be under one hand instead of all across the keyboard. Which is what I mean this deck doesn't solve. You'd still have to have a keyboard on your desk for the things it doesn't have buttons for, you'd still have to jump back and forth all over the deck to do the things it does have, and the scroll wheel doesn't work as a shuttle wheel which is super weird and dumb to me. I'm sure this might be perfect for someone? But I'll stick to something like the Razar Tartarus which I've been using for 3 years now and is fantastic (I started using that before I saw Lucas uses a similar thing by logitec) because like I said everything can be under one hand, I barely have to touch the keyboard, and I can program macros for other longer things.
The main this that would help me edit smarter and faster is if Adobe updates didn't keep break Premiere Pro so that it'll crash every ten minutes or so on complex projects
It looks like there's a delay between when a knob is turned and premiere gets updated, which implies there's loads of lag/latency with this thing, which I'm sure there isn't.
With the Loupdeck...how easy is it to map functionality to NON-Adobe applications, like say Davinci Resolve, or FCPX, or Affinity Photo? Is it a true midi type controller where you can map the controls to most anything, or is it limited to mostly Adobe standard commands? I mean remember, not everyone likes to *rent* their software. ;)
Ok I'm watching this on my phone so I might be seeing wrong but on Lucas's timeline that he showed, am I seeing a divider between his groups of audio? Is that just an added/unused track or is there a way to actually place a divider to separate like dialogue from sound FX??? & yes I feel kinda dumb asking this lol
This is cool, but for color grading I just have the Lumetri Color settings/sliders and the scopes always open on my 2nd monitor which is already super efficient.
Thank you Ryan... Film Riot and Cinecom are my to go source of information. Thanks to these 2 mega production label, Brains concept studios today is leading in the DMV when it comes to movie and music video production. I just grab my loupdeck now from your link. BINGOO... Love u guys - Dexter Brains
So no one is going to talk about how glorious the Lucas "intro" is? always the triumphant Big Band music with a generic cartoonized picture of him holding his Emmy. And don't get me started with the text, the golden rendered text. He's a winner... And we don't, because he has an Emmy, and I don´t. :'D I love it.
I AM GETTING THIS!!! THIS IS AMAZING!! THANKS FILM RIOT!! (Also this episode made me laugh SOO HARD!!) HAHAHAHAHAHAHA 👇Petition for Ryan to win an Oscar for BALLiSTIC
4:22 I believe "Ctrl+M" as in export media is the shortcut for export in Premiere Pro
1:59 "This episode's off to a weird start"
It sure is, and I *love it*
"Sponsors buy airtime, not our opinions." Which is why you guys are awesome.
"If it's not, see a doctor" is the most underrated line in this entire video.
I cracked up
yup, that was hilarious 😂
Waking up to Josh opening the video, this is gonna be a great day. The deck doesn’t look like something Id use, or have space for but it is a sweet piece of gear. Maybe sometime in the future I’ll need to get one lol.
Editing with sound only is a great advice. I'm certainly going to experiment with that!

MY EXACT THOUGHTS. I question if it's worth the money if you already know the shortcuts.
Does it work with any free software?
@@robertalexander3067 Yeah like Davinci Resolve.
This is one of the 14,000,605 reasons why I subscribed to filmriot! Great review
Who's watching while laying in the bed with no socks😂
i love the little skits they do in their videos
Funny that’s exactly what I’m doin
Sorry no, I still got my socks on

Interesting, but I think I’ll wait for Davinci Resolve support...
I tried Davinci and its so beautiful but my laptop can barely run it :/, Im using hitfilm for now.
Xbox360 properly set up with one of many 3rd party programs works miracles. Kensington Expert Mouse with its extra large trackball adds to it. Pretty much all one would need to edit, for well under 100 bucks.
Palette Gear has Davinci support that's a substitute to this... :)
LOVE where this show is going!!

Best FilmRiot video in months! This is pure quality content
you can touch my knobs lol there no pdf for this bad boy i spit my coffee out. Love you too
You can do this with an old tablet and some software, but dang if tactile buttons aren't the best! It also looks like they have the hard work done for you.
Very cool and helpful tool!
Give Lucas a video to talk about editing to sound
I know right! I mean he has an emmy!
Never thought that I would really want something until today. Just got into indie film making and this really make me excited!
I love my loopdeck +. I remember when I first opened it. It didnt support Apple FCPX. I wrote a long letter begging them to add FCPX. They did it! Thank you Loop Deck!

This takes me back to Film Riot's original style and sense of humor but with a new Film Riot twist. I love it keep it up!
Ah yeah. You guys STILL crack me up. Love it!
A tech channel in this style/format would be my cup of tea
Hi good, nice video! After I saw it I bought the keyboard and I am very happy. A perhaps stupid question: how do I make the "CTRL" "ALT" "SHIFT" keys work? Thanks from Italy
This video was an amazing edit! The export, copy/paste buttons have sold me on this deck...holy crap! :D
Just looked at the site, the price is actually great! Anyone doing wedding videos could cut down their editing by half with this, and maybe finally get a full night's sleep! Boy, that'd be something.
5:45 HOLY SHIT. Gonna use that TOMORROW and reorganize the audio on a film I'm working on. THANK YOU!

I’d like to hear your thoughts on the Loupdeck CT.
Thank you for spending so much time on the audio. But if the budget allows and post sup organized, The sound editor will do it quicker and better with Pro Tools
3:18 "My knobs....there's no PDF for this bad boy"....TOTALLY LOST IT LOLOLOLOLOL
1:30 only Audio editing - serious truth. Done plenty of product videos and this is a seriously good technique.
3:39 is the "Command" icon for a mac :)
Oh he definitely knows what it is. That was just a clever dig on Mac, as in "I don't know what this is cause I don't use a Mac." Subtle and awesome joke ;)

Check out Pallette Gear Haydn trust I've been using it for about 8 months now and it's been the best thing ever
05:59 " _What you can sell the ear you can sell the eye_ " Excellent, than k you!
At $250, the Loupedeck is practically a steal. Impressive.
There are used ones on eBay for under $150 USD. At that price, it's insane not get one.
The main this that would help me edit smarter and faster is if Adobe updates didn't keep break Premiere Pro so that it'll crash every ten minutes or so on complex projects
Is it possible to link it with Red Giant Colorista?
Thanks for making me laugh out loud. I don't do that often.
Is there a delay between pressing the button/turning knobs and the result on screen?
I heard that there is a noticeable delay when you do color grading, but this seems to be Adobe limitation.
Are you guys using some sort of an effect during the push ins and outs at the beginning? Looks really good!
Looks like After Effects keyframes for position and scale with motion blur turned on to me.
So it's not for use on HitFilm? Is there such a product that is ?
I got an ERA bundle add where I'm fairly darn sure you guys popped up on for this video. I wasn't sure if it even was an add at first because of that
Wow, I'm loving this.
Should I say latest version of film editing?
I watched that slow zoom with the music swell at 4:55 about five times. So unnecessary, but oh so good.
It looks like there's a delay between when a knob is turned and premiere gets updated, which implies there's loads of lag/latency with this thing, which I'm sure there isn't.
As an owner of the loupedeck, it's excellent. I wish Da Vinci Resolve supported it. Great tips from Lucas as well. :)
I read somewhere on the internet that Lucas Harger has an Emmy.
With the Loupdeck...how easy is it to map functionality to NON-Adobe applications, like say Davinci Resolve, or FCPX, or Affinity Photo?

Good luck with THERE COMES A KNOCKING Ryan!
Nice video brother, Can it be used with Davinci Resolve?
Cool! I feel like this would take some getting used to but it'd be super handy once you got it down.
I come here to see Ryan and Josh goofing around. It never gets old.
9:33 UGH I hate color labels in Premiere. After using AVID color labels premiere is just so much work haha.
Great editing tips!
The minute they support Resolve, I will be able to buy and use a couple of these.
I hold my laugh so hard when they talk about Josh's Knob that I burst out laughing for no reason when Ryan said "see a doctor" lol
A few minutes faster & different interactivity yes, cheap clicky sounds & wobbly buttons on late night edits for $250- nerp.
Great tips man.Love your Channel. No one can be more smarter than you!!
“..if it’s not see a doctor..” 🤣!!!
Ok I'm watching this on my phone so I might be seeing wrong but on Lucas's timeline that he showed, am I seeing a divider between his groups of audio? This is cool, but for color grading I just have the Lumetri Color settings/sliders and the scopes always open on my 2nd monitor which is already super efficient.
do you have a specific way to do the zoom in and outs from the skit at the beginning of the video? I wanna try it
THAT IS SO AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So it doesn't work for resolve huh? They're coming out with their own keyboard but this one won't work for them right?
"there's no pdf for this bad boy" 😂 I love Josh
Sounds like a great hobbiest tool. They need pro app support if they want to get the pros. Avid, Nuke, ProTools, Resolve....
8:05 unfortunately this is not entirely true....scale/rotation/position are not supported yet. I asked Loupedeck...supposed to be coming in an update.
Does this work in davinci resolve too as well as premiere i want something for both
@Film Roit You guys really do enjoy playing around with your videos with the sound and video effects😆
Thank you Ryan... Film Riot and Cinecom are my to go source of information. Is that song at the end from Rick and Morty?
No hitfilm?
Cenicom loves film riot and film riot loves cenicom so when are we getting a filmriot X cenicom movie ?????
I have been thinking about this too... hey Ryan you can make this happen bro
Great idea Sabir
So no one is going to talk about how glorious the Lucas "intro" is? always the triumphant Big Band music with a generic cartoonized picture of him holding his Emmy. And don't get me started with the text, the golden rendered text. He's a winner... And we don't, because he has an Emmy, and I don´t.
:'D I love it.
will this work with daviinci resolve?
Unfortunately not compatible with hitfilm.
Thank you for the editing tips! So practical.
I am not going to forget that Lucas Harger won a Grammy.
We use Touch Portal instead!
I’ll get it when it works for hitfilm
Is this work with resolve or hitfilm?
Good job guys..
Does it work with AVID Media Composer?
Hey does it work with da Vinci resolve?
if I use the keyboard settings and shortcuts as premiere is it possible to use the loopdeck in davinci resolve?
Super
I AM GETTING THIS!!! THIS IS AMAZING!! THANKS FILM RIOT!! (Also this episode made me laugh SOO HARD!!) HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
