- In all fairness this was obviously the guy's first time at Sebring so I get that. When I go to a new track for the first time I usually try to find a local who knows the track and can show me around. I figure it will save me days trying to figure it out myself. Another approach I guess is to make sure you don't let anyone by because.......well actually I don't know why. Anyway, this is a 1,200 HP Scion that entered the Redline Time Attack event at Sebring August 2010. Was fun to watch it rocket down the straights but had to be careful not to rear end him. Never met the driver and I'm sure he's a cool guy. Incidentally, my car has over 600 HP and was totally left for dead on the straights. Pretty entertaining. Recorded in 720 HD.

Thanks for posting such clear video. Watching your lines should help me trim a few more seconds off next time we make a Sebring trip.
@angriersoysauce. That's true. Probably on a good day it would put down 1200 @ crank. Enjoyed this video, not many out there of people chasing him. This was yesterday. RTA via twitter was saying that yesterday he was having brake problems. It went down today though, not sure what gremlins they were having yet. I wish I could be running there This weekend. Thanks Guy for posting the video.
It dynoed 899whp at the modified tuner shootout so around 1000 crank HP. The AWD one suppose to have 1100 crank HP. Beast of a car. That looked like fun driving behind him.

@roncfpz How could I forget that car! Beautiful! Loved the gray with the contrasting green calipers. Very cool. If you had a good time you should check out the Chin Motorsports events held at Sebring throughout the year. Lots of exotics and lots of track time.
@SSCcivic I also heard about a 2.21 on Saturday but I don't think he was able to even run on Sunday. The press release states that a Subie turned the 2.16 and won overall. For perspective, a stock C6 Z06 with Hoosiers runs in the 2.24's at Sebring and my car which is slightly modified but still a street car runs in the mid to high teens.
Regardless if it is his first time at the track or not, I still don't understand why he didn't give you a point-by or just slow up so he could power down the back straight as fast as he wanted.

@cdr9er999 well remember thats alot of power for the FWD, and he's said before on the NFS interview that the car does "break loose" alot with all that power, especialy on turns... but as he said, he loves it. and if rhythmnsmoke is correct on the brake issues, Rado has had the problems in the past and had his wheels lock up cuz of the brake issues, sending his car all over the track. so he'll handling will be thrown off.

@mcar00 He ran a 2:16.598 Sunday Morning during practice. Did not make it out for a Timed Hot lap though so didn't count towards an RTA score. But yeah it broke the FWD track record like he has every track it's been on. Don't know if you saw their White one with the lower front wing. it's AWD. No times for it yet, still brand new and doing testing with it. Est. 1100hp on that one.
This acually isn't Rado's 1200HP AWD beast. It's the early Scion he drove that was 500+ and FWD but still fast none-the-less.
You (the driver) are in the Red Line time attack series and have never heard/seen this car/Chris Rado? Seriously? Well you do now! In anycase, one he learns the line - he'll be gone - Bu-Bye. Rado set the track FWD record at Road Atlanta NASA's TT in Aug. If I remember right , somewhere around a 1:23? I loved his monster of a hauler. His AWD car (once tuned) should be phenominal as well That was some good driving! Loving the newer GoPro HDs - the sound is SOOO much better.
@rhythmnsmoke No doubt. The wheels & tires on that Scion wouldn't allow brakes as big as what you've got on the Vette and yet he was definitely much faster on the straights. Whoa-ing it down to speeds he felt comfortable in the corners with would have toasted his gear pretty quick.
Talk about a role reversal :D Normally it's the cheap FWD drive car catching a Vette in the corners because of driver experience.

That driver was being a very inconsiderate driver, and highly annoying.

with that Scion's speed in the straights, he must have been burning up his brakes trying to make it through the corners. Even if he was green, that car couldn't have been handling very well
LOL @ the front end wing. XD Makes sense for an average front wheel drive vehicle (normally these are front wheel drive).
@mcar00 Andrew Aquilante did a 2:15 in qualifying in a C6 non-zo6 essentially stock for the January national 2 years ago. I've seen numerous T1 trim C5's do 18's and 19's. Just as an FYI.
@ProTuner06 Actually, no this was track day time/ test and tune before time trials. This was not a 'race'. Basic track day courtesy is to give a point by to someone who is faster than you in corners and braking. Any idiot can mash a gas pedal. Any instrutor will tell you to point by a car/driver that is faster then you in the twisties and then tuck in behind them, watch his line and LEARN.

I was more pointing that out to point out his time. I think I saw on timing he got down to a 21 or so on sat afternoon. And I Believe he cracked a 16 on sunday.

@tnhomeboy I believe you meant show off. No, he's not a "jerk". It's a race! Each driver has to go for his fastest time. If he's faster on the straight-a-ways then he's going to pass him. Not let off the gas and think "I better not pass him. I'd be a jerk!" It's up to the other driver to pass him like a real professional which is what happened in some turns. I mean, come on! Think!
wow im suprised rado's lines are so bad....bishops bend i mean come on! nice driving man, i was there too in my civic but it was my 2nd trip so i can see how these guys would be nervous at sebring. he looked very bad, i hope he figured it out sunday...for a "pro" sponsored driver he should be picking up the track faster.
@mcar00 he did do a 16 in the morning on Sunday but broke before the official time attack sessions, hence, no official time for the competition. PS. my most recent video is the very same view of the same car :)

@turtletwi I agree but he could put a down splitter which works better aerodinamicaly talking. If you look at any race car bigger front spkitter better front traction.

No, this scion isn't making 1200hp but, his new version AWD tC IS pushing 1400hp on the stock 2azfe stock engine. If you dought that then you know nothing about the car.
Rado was being a jerk. It takes no skill to drive down a straightaway. He should have let the Vette go and followed him to learn the track and line instead of trying to show out.
