Iron heads have the meanest deceleration sound. Love this whole build. 33mils with the brow, sick ass tank, and the perfect stance front to back!

Love it. I have a 1969 XLCH that was my daily ride ten years ago. It's in pieces now as the lower end went after five years on the road. My daily rides now are an original 1982 FXB Sturgis, a Shovelhead chop, and a 1967 Triumph Trophy T100C scrambler I got last month. The Triumph is interesting because it runs the stock Lucas Energy Transfer ignition system that was stock on certain competition models, and is referred to in the manual as the AC magneto. Like the XLCH, the battery is eliminated. I consider it Triumph's version of the XLCH. I like that you straddle kick your CH---- that is the best way to avoid the dreaded Sportster Knee. Before I learned the correct way to kick my CH, I hyperextended my right knee twice, and left knee once. I cringe when I watch TH-cam vids of people kicking magneto Sportsters. They dive bomb their whole weight on the right side of the bike, and I know it's a matter of time before the kicker slips and their knee explodes. Your bike is perfect exactly the way it is. I'm sure a Japanese hipster will offer you big bucks for that authentic American rust and patina. Subscribed.

Don’t send our Harleys to those people hold out. Please stop doing this. This is our problem we send Harleys overseas where they don’t belong.

Cool to find your channel - I bought my '79 XLH from you last September, it's been a real blast getting it back on the road and taking it out!

That was a great bike!! Sat next to my 42WL for many years in that warehouse before I found them.

A lot of original parts there. Steel primary, the cam/kick covers matched. Fairbanks Morse magneto. Looked to be orig. front end head light. Chain guard. The frame wasn't raked. The seat blows. I consider myself an expert and have a pristine '66 xlch. as I have rebuilt many for friends. I am a retired BP Chief Eng.

It's good you brought it back to life. It would make a good restoration project for someone. Or, just to enjoy the way it is. The front lower fork legs look like 1970 to 1972.

would be a shame if someone restored that thing. worth a lot more as a survivor than a restored chopper.

At 26 sec it looks like you were advancing the mag. You should swing the rear of the mag towards the engine to retard the spark for starting. It will for sure start in the advanced position but it's a little easier retarded. And a couple comments down....Dave Snow, good to see you're riding. I came around the XLF right about when you left. You and Genghis and the Piss Pees were talking my language in the 90s at Iron Horse. Really miss that magazine. I'm riding a 1969 XLCH. My favorite bike in 47 years of riding.

That’s a pretty cool bike it’s unfortunate the engine didn’t explode while you were revving it up like you lost your mind knowing full well that engine had been sitting a long time according to your intro on the video. You gotta use a little common sense when doing that kind of work on something that’s been out of Commission for a long period of time. No hard feelings you just need to be more mindful. Think about it like this how would you like it if someone was forcing you after sitting around for a long period of time and ur mussels were not used to being in motion it would hurt and you’d have a hard time moving around well it’s the same for engines too you gotta ease it on it not Throttle it up so hard when the engine hasn’t really ran that long just as you got to ease your self if you’ve been sitting around for a while not doing anything to get yourself back in motion
