I am certainly going to have to check out that new app... That sounds extremely impressive! Don't know what else to say about that engine other than I hope to find out what is wrong with it and see the destruction it went through as well as the steps you will take to repair it :-)
Actually the pipes are tuned slightly differently when you tapped on them. Their resonant note in not quite the same , an easy fix. Great job though!! Impressive sounding too! On a scale basis the ID of the exhaust pipe tubing is a little on the thick side relative to the real engine and may actually be choking the engine up a bit, but only dyno testing would confirm this thought! But these things are often impossible to fix on a scale basis. Be nice to see it a on a radio controlled scale Harley bike!! Great work!!!
I had no choice on the first couple starting attempts the clutch bearing blew apart. Easy out starter was the only way to go but I did put a bushing in there that I would swap out when It got worn
The sound comes from the fact that the engine fires so far out of balance that it basically beat yourself to death. Which is why when they tried to make a shaft drive version of it it would destroy the transmission in short order. I quit counting how many I've told off the freeways because of bent pushrods
Why would the pushrods bend because the engine is out of balance? Pushrods open valves off a cam, they're not effected by the balance of the engine. Harley probably doesn't use shaft drives because of weight, aesthetics and power/fuel economy loss. It makes no difference if a final drive powers a chain or a shaft to the life of a gearbox.
@@christopherdesbaux5950 the cam is driven by a chain or gear that is spun by the crankshaft. So yes they would be affected by the balance of the engine. Correct me if I'm wrong

Id venture a guess that most rc hobbyists would never put up with the problems these engines would cause. Plus, a true rc engine has been engineered and refined over decades to be efficient in power to weight ratio. These Harley models are just barely able to stay running, let alone produce useful work.

That app sounds really good. I hope that really takes off for you! I am pretty interested in trying it out.
I try to keep talking in my videos to a minimum but I did want to explain that we had given a link on my channel to allow people to download the app before it was actually fully released, and a few people have bad reviews even though I wasn't a finished app yet, but the main complaint was there weren't enough stores, now I believe we have 2,000 stores in there and more everyday
@@WarpedYT I think that the way that you mentioned the app in this video was very organic & well placed. You are fortunate to have a platform to spread the word, & it would be foolish not to use it. So I hope that people understand that. Besides it sounds like a program designed to actually enrich people's lives & add convenience. At least you're not plugging some game loaded with ads. So hopefully this takes off and the fans of your channel take over with more positive reviews & constructive ones if needed.
Cheers
You come across some of the most coolest items I've ever seen. Keep it up I love it!!! LOL
The editing on these videos is phenomenal
It sounds just like a panhead! So cool!
just getting it to run is unbelieveable! great job
Amazing, I'm going to show my dad
He will love it xxx
That idle!!!!! Wow, super impressed 👍🇺🇲
The pan head was created in 1948.
Lots of improvements in Harley engines since then.
The modern Harleys are just as reliable as any modern motorcycles/cars.
(when properly maintained)
Absolutely true.
I was always amazed how so many Harley owners thought it would magically take care of itself and then complain about the cost of a complete tare down.
My old '64 Panhead SN was FLH4646. Traded it away 50 years ago.
1st time watching one of these mini engine videos, Super Cool.
I'm most impressed with your mini tubing skills - not even a hint of a kink! 👍

What creates Harley's characteristic sound is the special ignition sequence that the engine has.
Haha.. no way ! 😀 That's a pretty realistic idle . 👌
You're knowledgeable in a wide range of things. You built all that stuff from scratch using physical tools and software.
He didn't build the engine.
Thx for the video. Unbelievable attention to detail!!
Even leaks oil like a real Harley :)
What a sound! It is certainly a Harley and sounds great. Nice job of putting this video together.

Finally Kevin Hart can have his own custom bike.
Sounded like a real Harley, leaked like a real Harley, broke like a real Harley. 10/10 for authenticity.
Very cool old school panhead I have been ridding since I was 8 and I also had an old panhead to ride that little engine just brought back some sweet memories, thanks.
Damn.....sounds way better than the real thing, i.m.o.
Nicely done!!!
Thanks!
That Little Engine Looks So Good 😊 Sounds Great As Well But The Starting Method Doesn't Look Sustainable 😂🤣🤗
My son has a Harley and I agree for close my eyes it sound like the real deal you did a beautiful job on them tuned pipes I think it's great man I am totally amazed have a good day
Big Fan Bro Big Fan♥
heck yeah!! 😁🤘
I am certainly going to have to check out that new app... That sounds extremely impressive!
Don't know what else to say about that engine other than I hope to find out what is wrong with it and see the destruction it went through as well as the steps you will take to repair it :-)
That is so cool it sounds just like a Harley great job with the pipes they look great !!
Totally like a Harley, loud and unreliable, incredible
Actually the pipes are tuned slightly differently when you tapped on them. Their resonant note in not quite the same , an easy fix. Great job though!! Impressive sounding too! On a scale basis the ID of the exhaust pipe tubing is a little on the thick side relative to the real engine and may actually be choking the engine up a bit, but only dyno testing would confirm this thought! But these things are often impossible to fix on a scale basis. Be nice to see it a on a radio controlled scale Harley bike!! Great work!!!
Noticed that too.
I don't think they have dyno that small yet lol
Never expected that i really could fall in love with mini gasoline engines.
Loved it BUT it was painful to see the ez-out starter
I had no choice on the first couple starting attempts the clutch bearing blew apart. Easy out starter was the only way to go but I did put a bushing in there that I would swap out when It got worn
The sound comes from the fact that the engine fires so far out of balance that it basically beat yourself to death. Which is why when they tried to make a shaft drive version of it it would destroy the transmission in short order. I quit counting how many I've told off the freeways because of bent pushrods
You've been towing a lot of Panheads these days?
@@CS-Loc Tolding, not towing.
@@j.w.3345 Told? As in you are now speaking to motorcycles?
Why would the pushrods bend because the engine is out of balance? Pushrods open valves off a cam, they're not effected by the balance of the engine.
Harley probably doesn't use shaft drives because of weight, aesthetics and power/fuel economy loss.
It makes no difference if a final drive powers a chain or a shaft to the life of a gearbox.
@@christopherdesbaux5950 the cam is driven by a chain or gear that is spun by the crankshaft. So yes they would be affected by the balance of the engine. Correct me if I'm wrong
Wow....
Even drips oil like the real thing 😎
That's cool...
Panhead looks like an oil pan.. not a kitchen pan
1:40 does anyone know what happened to the OP's amputated finger? I thought I saw something unusual and had to pause & rewind. New subscriber here, addictive contents.
It happened when I was about two and a 2 ½ years old, I was curious about some mechanical things and I went to touch some gears and something called a Ludlow machine, well I pulled my hand in and completely crushed it like hamburger meat. Believe it or not I sort of remember when I walked up to the machine, that's all I remember.
WOW Its hard to understand how such a small engine can sound so deep!!!
Was really impressed with the engine - until the wobbly crank issue ! Seemed awful premature to be that worn out so soon !
The manufacturer wanted to keep it exact to the real thing.
It’d be cool to see you use these engines in rc cars boats planes
Or a chainsword
Id venture a guess that most rc hobbyists would never put up with the problems these engines would cause. Plus, a true rc engine has been engineered and refined over decades to be efficient in power to weight ratio. These Harley models are just barely able to stay running, let alone produce useful work.
Now make the bike with all that equipment! Badass man
3:44 even leaks oil like a real harley.
Where can I buy one of these kit? It's pretty damn neat.
Any HD stealership, only $39,995, plus your first born and your soul.
Took Several attempts to start it, sounds about right 👍
Fucking Amazing 👏
That's amazing
Outstanding job building a more that size from scratch
It's sound is amazing, a real engine sound, not like the majority of screaming nitro engines. Great job really 👏 👍
It looks like a pan from the right side, same as the shovel head. Cool sounds good.
Fantastic video and fantastic work on this small HD engine. BRAVO.
