@ I do appreciate the fact that you shot the presentation and do acknowledge that in the ‘thanks’. I used to work as a news cameraman so perhaps I notice these things more.
@keithedwards2172 No problem Keith. I just get a little grumpy when I'm reminded for the umpteenth time the audio is a bit rubbish. I would have loved to have had all the people on stage with radio microphones. The audio was just about as bad to listen to in the audience as it is in the video. The small compensation is the vid has been viewed lots, so for once, our little channel has made something from Google.
@ haha! You’re making me feel bad now! I don’t mean to be a clever clogs so forgive me but a single channel radio mic next to the PA speaker would give a pretty decent quality when in these situations. We used to do that if we were late getting to a press conference.
Bugger! I had intended to go to that. Anyway, you made it much better viewing, than I could have done and I just sat at home! Thanks for the mention of my old Royal Star. Regarding the Hesketh, I went to the launch of the V1000 and all I can remember about it was how bad it was. I'd either got a brand new GS1000 or GSX1100 at the time. In comparison, the engine was rough, the brakes were wooden and the gearbox nearly broke you ankle trying to change gear and it was too heavy. Can't think why it didn't sell? I do hope that very few people are suckered by these Chinese bikes. Looks are one thing, but quality, real performance and super reliability are so much more than just what you see. Look at the current problems hitting KTM? Yet another super video Rich, so thank you. You're getting quite good at this aren't you?
@RichardASK Thanks Richard. We both would have preferred your Royal Star compared to the new BSA offerings. I think young Lord Hesketh had money to burn at least until he threw loads at F1. The GSX 1100 was a great engine, still is really. Wasn't the Bandit 1200 a similar engine, ultra reliable and would take a performance tune without exploding. The Chinese have a lot to prove in reliability and service back up. I won't be buying but I don't think we can dismiss them. Don't know about getting good Richard. We've certainly had some mega view numbers recently
@stevebme2163 Don't think we were in the best position for the amplified stage audio, but we did our best as amateur TH-camrs. Thanks for watching and glad you still managed to enjoy
Yes Kove are Chinese....not sure if they will take off here, typical case of the bikes being pretty capable but even at the ABR show they had no demo bikes and they said I can only ride one at my nearest dealer which is in Gloucester! I'm not so sure they are going to take off. BSA have done well in many areas but have let themselves and their loyal following down. If they are not careful they will not be able to get the hole they are in and will start a slippery slope. As Carol said and I agree, the trade in market has fallen on most bikes BUT BSAs again have burnt some bridges and they don't seem to be doing anything to pull it back. As I said in my review, I like the way they ride but everything pends on the distributer, and they are not doing enough at the moment in my opinion.
Sometimes I do wonder about people? The DB level is low on the recording because we were battling intermittent extremely high noise levels. These videos are put up for free, made at our own cost. Most folks, if they are not enjoying watching, just put a thumb down and click away.
I don't know if the Museum also include the Danish built: Nimbus MC? The ultimate workhorse, also for the Postal Service. The production ended in 1956 but the last being built from spares in 1959! But the Majority still excists and are taken care of! Rebuilt to be able to use unleaded fuel. And being brought to Australia. Finn. Denmark

We're getting the CfMoto bikes at our shop in the US. The earlier 650 and 700cc bikes based on Kawasaki are fine, but the 800 KTM engine as well as Cf's 450 twin are really quite nice and really deliver surprising performance, and the price can't be beat. I remember when I was very young "made in Japan" meant cheap crap, and for those saying the same of the Chinese now need to look back at how long it took Japan to really step up their game.
@ekspatriat clearly the films shows Allen blowing the extra silencers off in his garden but he didn't run it up properly there. The first proper running of the engine was on stage. Allen himself on stage said it was the first proper start, that's why it initially blew a fuse.

No such problems starting it today! It'll be a while before I put my vid together. You guys don't hang around! 😉 Thanks for posting 😊
@derekb2765 I think Allen was a little concerned. I genuinely think it was the first proper start since the little garden test. Glad it worked out for him.
One of these day's we will bump into each other at an event. I enjoyed your previous video
@@BanditmanukI'm not surprised after the amount of work he's put into that bike. But it started on the button today! 😊 I'm sure our paths will cross eventually. Glad you enjoyed my video, hopefully as much as I'm enjoying yours 👍 Cheers 😃
Fantastic effort Allen . Shame about the audio.
Great to see Maria there, shame for limited footage of the stars mixing with the public. As one other put it, was mainly Henry
@paultierney8867 It's a difficult editing decision. Unfortunately, Skid and Maria hardly managed to get a word in during this first show Saturday morning. 90% of what I edited out was Henry Cole. Allen Millyard speaks very quietly and some of his stuff was just not clear enough to publish.
Hope you still enjoyed the video.
@Banditmanuk video was great, nothing negative intended.
Yes, I have also followed every video with Allen on stripdown and rebuild.
Its just we rarely get to see any footage of Maria, even at the HRDC classic car races either.
@@paultierney8867 I was at the classic TT in 2016 when Maria secured a podium alongside TT legend John McGuinness. 👏
Started life as a Yamaha XJ 5 or 6 fifty maybe??? Was looking @ the wheels, how sad am i... BSA seem 2 b abit of a let down at the moment, sadly. Another crackin vid 👍🏍️😄
@mjs.910 Thanks, it could be. We're not sure about BSA but they certainly look nice.
Shame the mic wasn't near the PA but thanks anyway.
@@keithedwards2172 it's a shame so many comments only pick up on the negatives.
It's made for free and recorded from where I sat. We did our best. Thanks for watching anyway
It is quite muffled, but still a great video.
@exeterrider Very interesting hearing your thoughts on Kove & BSA. We liked the Royal Enfield stand and the salesman was very informative 👍
What's the point in 4k video when the audio sounds like it's been produced on a 1980's cassette recorder?
Sometimes I do wonder about people? The DB level is low on the recording because we were battling intermittent extremely high noise levels.
These videos are put up for free, made at our own cost. Most folks, if they are not enjoying watching, just put a thumb down and click away.
I don't know if the Museum also include the Danish built: Nimbus MC? The ultimate workhorse, also for the Postal Service. The production ended in 1956 but the last being built from spares in 1959! But the Majority still excists and are taken care of! Rebuilt to be able to use unleaded fuel. And being brought to Australia. Finn. Denmark
@@finncarlbomholtsrensen1188 If it's not been manufactured in the UK, it won't be here. It's the National Motorcycle Museum.
There open day events obviously include all manor of machines but normally just British bikes on display.
Thanks for watching
Hi Allen, could you help me fix my Motorcycle Please, thanks Stephen.
Yamaha 650cc is the green thing YICS on the valve cover dates it to 1982, shaft drive inline 4 they made it as a cruzer, ujm and a turbo version as sport touring
@@MichaelMeyerMotocyclist The owner actually introduced himself in the pinned comment at the top of the page.
I love the work that Allen did on this bike, but it aint half clunky looking, for instance, the all in one front brakes, what the hell were they thinking,i dont think that frame is going to flex under power LOL
@enoz.j3506 You're not the first to question the overall design of the bike. Hearing Allen chatting, I don't think he's impressed with many design aspects, including the tube type throttle.
I saw he posted a picture today on his Facebook with the bodywork fitted. That's definitely improved its looks!
Allen is a superstar! Henry wants to be a superstar so bad. But unfortunately making tea and eating biscuits are very common tasks.
Henry isn't as daft as people think. He owns the production company making all sorts of TV. A shrewd business man is hiding behind the daft antics.
Absolutely no doubt Allen is an amazing engineering talent
@ I would never call Henry daft. He is really good at making shows about Henry getting his bike sheds full of beautiful machines and other assorted detritus. Brilliant really! I have been wondering how Allen’s rebuild of the Norton would end. It has been very popular on y tube. And that’s valuable content in Henry’s world.
@@BanditmanukIndeed. They're not superstars, they're just pretty normal but very clever. If more people read Henry's books they'd understand what he's about and how hard he's slogged to get this far. Allen is a bit of a one-off agreed, but there's a lot more brilliant engineers out there, past and present,, all on YT if people look.✔💯🇬🇧👍😉
On 10:10 we have a Yamaha Seca 750(?)
XJ 650

Isn't Steve Parish also the owner of the PEN15 number plate, bit of a theme going on methinks. 😆

kove won a world championship at their first attempt in Moto3 last weekend in Spain, not bad for a New Chinese brand. And yes,the Chinese manufacturers must be taken very seriously.
@johndavy8801 I know the guy who runs Peak Motorcycle TH-cam channel. I know he was one of the first to get his hands on one. He did quite a bit of content on them about a year ago.
Kove look a decent machine
We're getting the CfMoto bikes at our shop in the US. The earlier 650 and 700cc bikes based on Kawasaki are fine, but the 800 KTM engine as well as Cf's 450 twin are really quite nice and really deliver surprising performance, and the price can't be beat. I remember when I was very young "made in Japan" meant cheap crap, and for those saying the same of the Chinese now need to look back at how long it took Japan to really step up their game.
Thunderbirds are Go.
If it had a chain it was a Yamaha XJ550, the XJ 650 had a shaft drive.

It's not the first start after the rebuild is it?
@ekspatriat clearly the films shows Allen blowing the extra silencers off in his garden but he didn't run it up properly there. The first proper running of the engine was on stage. Allen himself on stage said it was the first proper start, that's why it initially blew a fuse.

Its a shame the audio is so bad you cant really hear what anyone says 🤔
@@johnbrereton5229 76,000 people have watched. 1,500 thumbs up loads of positive comments, then of course there's always some that will always just go for the negative. You can hear what's said, but it was amplified stage audio that wasn't much better live. It's made for free, uploaded for free!
It's always the ones who can't make their own videos that are the biggest critics.

I'd buy a bike made in India.
Having seen the first service oil samples from made in China I'll give them a miss.
@theodavies8754 we would definitely be happy to have an Enfield. The Chinese bikes just need to prove reliability and aftersales back up,I think they will get there.
@Banditmanuk I don't think they will.
China have a limited lifespan ethic designed in to everything they make.
10 years is the maximum for vehicles but I doubt many last to the end of the worthless warranty.
Better if I could understand the commentary, apart from that milly is brilliant
@@stephengrocott6938 It's the best I could do as just a member of the audience and them using amplified microphones for the audience. Hope you still found it interesting. Thanks for watching
Interesting video,,be better without cole trying to steal the limelight," what a knob"
@shaunpb599 I understand most viewers are here for Allen Millyard👍 I've met Henry away from his presenting persona, he's actually a decent guy. He's got Allen, Sam Lovegrove and his other mate Skid quite a bit of mainstream TV exposure.
Met Henry Cole couple of years ago and he’s a brilliant guy and he’s totally not like his television persona .. the eccentric act is just a act
@peachy3143 I'm glad you've mentioned this. I've also met him when his production company was filming at Triumph Hinckley.
Like you say, in person, he's such a nice guy. Intelligent and always working. He's given mainstream exposure to the likes of Sam and Allen, who are talented but previously only known within motorcycle circles.
Wow a Chinese bike looking like a BMW & producing 47HP, back to the future maybe? Think I'll pass on that one.
Nice video, shame about that mega bore Henry Cole being there.
Thanks but it saddens me that so many folks feel it necessary to voice a personal opinion on Henry. I've deleted some.
Henry has done more than most to bring motorcycle content to mainstream TV Including bringing Allen his much deserved wider recognition.
Anyway thanks for watching. Richard
I've always greatly enjoyed Henry's TV shows with Sam, Skid, Fuzz and Allen. Wonderful bike content and a good laugh. 😂
@@Banditmanuk Doesn't alter the fact that a lot of people can't stand him now , he used to be OK but he's turned into an idiot . Does Allen really want all the extra recognition though
Sadly without Henry's TV shows Sam, Skid and Alan would be unknowns and the Norton Nemesis would never have happened!
You may think that is sad mate but it isn't as sad as Cole's pathetic attempt at a cockny accent !
can hardly tell what your saying , really poor sound quality
Hi. The DB is a little low on the recording but I guess the other 37,000 viewers rectified that by turning up the volume. Please bear in mind we were trying to record in an intermittently extremely noisy environment.
