I think it’s very dependent on the duel as the better can really change quickly especially with different play styles and ping

axe is for massive damadge in a few hits and sword for combos. comparing them does not make THAT much sense in my opinion..

if you use it right the sword does more damage in a shorter amount of time though.
In both of yours and capades video, how to not use an axe and capade showed how to not use a sword. In this video, the people didn't know what to do with the axe. They didn't back off to load the axe and hit you. That was what they should have done, because Capade showed that u need to back off and hit the opponent again. In Capades Video tho the people didn't know what to do with the sword. They couldnt Combo, because he was backing off. But you can still combo if u do it a different way (for example avoiding the axe hit by strafing and then get a combo in because the axe user just missed a hit). The sword is also much more important in small cave fights or in areas with not much space, because u dont have enough time to load the axe and u also can't just back off like Capade explained because there is not enough space to do it. Another example: If u fight with a uhc kit and u get someone in lava or webs u should wait until the axe is charged, because an opponent who isn't completely bad at the game is out of the webs or the lava, before the axe is charged. U should also react with a sword after the opponent sets u in lava or webs, because you are gonna use the water bucket and after that u need to fight back quickly so u can't get comboed. And u can't fight back quickly with an axe

I gotta agree, swords are still better unless you have shields, but even then if you disable the shield then the axe won't really do a whole lot.
It depends on the player axe and sword are equal for me axe is just getter for 1v1 and sword is better for 1v2

In Capade's video said that he doesnt get combo'd by people with the sword because they can't combo if they back off
He also said that if somebody is as good in axe pvp than they are in sword pvp then the axe pvp'er will win if they back off after attacking them

I agree with you on swords there even though i play minecraft poket edition also idk if minecraft is going to do something about shileds on the bedrock version cause there OP no cooldown and no breaking also it flings you back every hit but you can still hit them from the back.

in my opinion, it depends on the player's skill. if someone is really good at sword, they can beat someone who has way better gear if the opponent is using an axe. if someone is very good at axe, or you aren't good enough at sword, you can easily be beaten by someone who uses an axe. basically, just depends on your skill with different weapons i guess 🤷♂

The swords dpi is higher so personally i think if u can understand atleast a small amount of knowledge of w tapping and strafing then the axe will lose but if u have a high teir axe player and a high tier sword player the sword player will win although if u have a low tier sword player against a low teir axe player the axe will come out on top

Early game: Axe (stone axe no armor or like a few pieces of iron armor)
Mid game: Axe and Sword (UHC Kit or just some diamond and some iron stuff with bad enchants)
Late game: Sword and Axe (SMP Kit)

A netherite Sword do 8 damge with 0.625 second cooldawn
And
A netherite axe do 10 damge
With 1 second cooldawn
It is not about who do most damge per hit it is about who do the most damge per specific time
So if we take 20 seconds fight with all the hits perfect
We can see that
The Sword do
32 hits × 8 damge per hit
= 256 damge
And
The axe do
20 hits × 10 damge per hit
= 200 damge
So swords is better than axes
But if the fight took a short time or shields entered the chat
Axe will win
My Opinion Is That There Equal And There Better Used Together You Can Use Sword A lot And When They Dont Expect It Hit With A Axe Its Better If Your Oponent Has A Shield Too

Incorrect, axe users can run back to avoid getting comboed since they do insane damage. I’m not sure if it needs to be shield pvp for it to work though

I mainly use a sword because I am trying to practice combos. I see why Capdade prefers axe. Axes do more damage per hit so you could just hit them and back away. However, if your close to your enemy, 2 sword hits does more damage than one axe hit. People needs to know this if they're using sword vs axe.
also axe is recommended if you don't have a lot of armor and the enemy doesn't have a lot of armor.

but the axe just has insane damage and you dont have to let them combo you

honestly really it really depends , in a smp , its best for using axes in the early game , everyone will probably have a shield instead of a totem , but in the late game when other players have netherite and totems , its where the sword shines u need that dps

Example: early game shields and axe are your best bet
Mid-end game axes are pretty much useless
Well he was talking about axes and sword not shields if you have a shield and axe and ur opponent has a wood sword it almost doesn’t matter the armor type because they axe would win since you can’t disable shields with swords
@@Greaful still tho even if you have a shield it’s better to use the sword to deal damage to the player (usually skilled axe players do that) you disable shield with axe and deal damage with sword so when they attempt to run you can crit chain

Swords are a much better late game weapon (such as if you at least have diamond armor) and it is both of you are not using shields (having shields make the axe so much more effective). However, if you both only have iron armor or less, if would depend on the situation since it takes the same amount of time to kill someone with an iron axe vs iron sword (3 hits with the axe vs 5 hits with the sword). If you were playing like sky battle, the sword would be better since the area is smaller and it is much easier to knock people off with the sword (though I still use the axe because I’m much better with it compared to the sword). However, if you are playing something like survival games, the axe is actually better since it is much harder to combo with the sword in a wide open area. And obviously, if you are playing shield PvP, the sword is almost useless (unless you are playing UHC type duels).

Capade also isn’t good at the game and fights other not good players on legacy in the case when you’re both bad or not good use axe ig but if 1 of them can crit spam or pcrit (which is anyone at least decent) then use sword
If there’s a runner and I’m not in range to hit them I use axes but simply with just comboing I use swords

This is why i like sword than axe
Sword can combo
Sword have better enchantments
Sword can cooldown fast
Sword can hit multiplies (sweeping edge)
Can crit faster
Even axe is op at axes crits im just using it as a shield breaker
Really it depends on the situation how skilled you are and your ping

Depends on the kit,I mostly use both, sword is harder to combo tho, i do feel better using the axe, axes can get your enemy low, swords are also good because you can crit them out by alot, if your good at dodging, axe better, shield pvp is also better for the axe since they can break shields, also, you used a kit where the sword benefits from not having a shield in the kit, you also need more skill with the sword, than the axe

Axes are better than swords but if you know how to use a sword you can win a round or more, but if the next opponent knows how to use an axe ready your funeral.
I prefer swords. But in normal survival Minecraft, I am a little weird cause I don't want to waste the durability of my sword and end up using stuff like golden hoes or wooden shovels as weapons. XD
Well swords do less damage but swing faster and axes do more damage and less swing speed so swords would do more damage since they swing faster
Capade's argument was that for two players who are at the same level of experience in axe and sword, the axe enjoyer would win by backing up. To prove that sword are better you would have first to prove that you and your opponent are at the same level and then compare the weapons in a fight.

you can stop an sword combo by just backing away i've done it . Axe crit run back rinse and repeat
axes are only used as a main weapon *IF* you're in an iron armor, shield and iron axe fight, if not, then there's not point in using an axe other than to break shield because axes are harder to aim with than a sword and it has a slower attack speed.
I know this is a super late comment but I usually use an axe if they’re really good at avoiding combos (at which point a sword won’t help me much)
I play very good whit sword at 120 ms lmao anyways some people says hacks why the ping is high the enemy why the lag give the lag reach which isn't too broken but is strange but 180 ms are the ruiner for the sword for who don't use it cause 180 made Ur character pick kB after 2 sec

im an axe user in minecraft java edition becuz i like using axes it deals lot of damage but you cant combo players if you use swords you can combo players but me i just sprint and jump crit with an axe and go backwards
I think axes are better then swords because a) they do more damage to the player and their armor b)you could just crit someone and run away and crit them again and if you are trading hits and they are using sword and you axe then you will do more damage, so you will win, and c)They disable shields, so that means that if your opponent is using sword and you have a shield then they wont be able to hit you unless they backstab you or something
I like axes personally, but I do agree that swords can be better, and I have been comboed by sword users. The trick to using axes is to back away after each hit. Also I like Capade. I am subbed to you too though
