As an insulin resistant person, I have started eating sardines, mackerel, and salmon. I can only consume two 4 oz. cans of sardines at a time, not because of the stretch receptors in my stomach, but the significant amount of fats I'm consuming in these fatty fish that triggers the release of the hormone responsible to managing my appetite. Alternatively, I can eat fruit 10 times the volume of those sardines before feeling satiated. These types of fish are high in omega 3s and do not spike my blood glucose and stops me from over eating. Incorporating these fatty fish in my diet led to a leaner body and a lowered fasting blood glucose level.
I love all those vegetables, they dont love me. And I had to learn that the hard way over and over again. What does not bother me or make me bloated or weight gain or inflammation is fatty meat, eggs, avocado, cheese and the occasional spring mix small quantity and romaine lettuce small quantity. I dont crave chocolate, muffins , rice etc. anymore , and those used to be my staples.

Great video. 💚 I food prep every Sunday for the upcoming week. I eat a variety of vegetables but find that broccoli 🥦 and brussel sprouts 🌱 are the most filling along with my meats. I sometimes add cream cheese for my fat to the broccoli or brussels. Delicious! This is how I’ve reversed my type 2 diabetes. I’m a strict calorie counter. Takes the guess work out of overeating. I like my broccoli steamed. I find that if I heat water in the kettle, while it is heating mix up some of my favorite seasonings into a measuring cup add the hot water I plan to use to steam, into the the measuring cup and then use this mixture to steam the broccoli the spices/seasoning are not clumped to one area. I find this way makes the broccoli very tasty. Funny thing is poultry seasoning is one of my favorites to mix with hot water to use to steam it.

THIS is Excellent and practical advice. My experience coincides with your comments. Real food, actual, genuine made by nature food is nutrient rich, full of fiber and low in calories. The mass of food slows digestion, and gives you an opportunity to eat a small amount of an otherwise unhealthy item that would spike your blood 🩸 sugar
Thanks for all the great videos. There is so much information in the literature about how rice, pasta, and potatoes tend to spike blood sugar levels. But almost no one mentions that combining those foods with high fiber foods (e.g., asperagus, celery, brussel sprouts) and protein foods can greatly dampen and lower the blood sugar level spike. Its the combination of foods that is the key to blood sugar level management and not necessarily what individual foods do in isolation.
And that is so important to know. Even if I eat a graham cracker, I will put a slice or two of cheese on it. I try to "bury" carbs in protein or fat, or both. A half a potato will get ghee, meat/fish and vegetable with it. Snack foods are eaten alone as a rule, and this is the problem. We don't eat a dish of ice cream in the middle of our meal, but we should! At least if we're going to eat it anyway, I think smothering it with other foods is the best. Snack foods like crackers, potato chips, pretzels, popcorn, sodas, ice cream, candy bars, granola bars and more are all eaten as a snack, alone, to stave off hunger, but they go right into our system, pushing it up and then pushing it way, way down. I would like to see some experiments with doing that - eating dessert in the middle of a low carb, high protein meal as opposed to eating it a half hour after the meal or by itself.
Read the book the Glucose Goddess, the author of the book popularized what this channel is teaching. You can find her also on podcasts. But basically she used a CGM when they just came out, and expiremented with foods and order / pairing like this guy is doing.
You know I was on the crazy train of videos since 2018. I happened on a video of you saying how you can’t stay on keto too long so I hopped over. That’s me. I’ve been incorporating good volume foods and lower fat. Weight is finally coming off again. My whole body comp is different
I'm an experienced health food eater on this one thing you need to be aware of, you mustn't go too far on the other side of the scale eating too much bulky food which has low calories because the body has a very sensitive mechanism for feeling the calorie density of the foods that go into the body. But if the stomach is getting full but there's not enough calories the body panics and sort of gives out distress signals which is very unpleasant to be both very full and very hungry. It's really important to slowly build up to low calorie dense foods I'm talking about in a particular meal. It's really important to feel good after you have eaten and satisfied that will keep you going in making progress. Wishing everyone the best.
