The Warning has 4 versions for Enter Sandman: 1. Straight out cover that made them go viral, released 2014. Kirk Hammett tweeted “the drummer kicks maximum ass’ when he saw them. 2. Studio version released on Metallica’s Blacklist album. The OMV is a must to watch. 3. Live version at Teatro Metropolitan with no strings 4. Live version at Pepsi Center with the strings.
the first 3 were iconic. then they did this version with strings and knocked it right outa the park. highly recommend to anyone to watch all 4 versions now.
Their career basically started with their cover of Enter Sandman that is on their TH-cam channel. They uploaded it 10 years ago when they were 14,12 and 9. It currently has nearly 26 million views. They had uploaded it to show their grandparents how well they were doing and it went viral.
The instructions they received from Metallica, was to take the song and turn it inside out or upside down and make it their own (but keep the lyrics), which they did in collaboration with Canadian singer-songwriter Alessia Cara for Metallica’s Blacklist album. The string section was a special addition just for this show. They wanted to give it more of a creepy lullaby vibe. It is on Spotify, iTunes, etc. and there is also an official MV which more prominently features Alessia Cara. By the way, they did a straight cover of the song as young girls 10 years ago that went viral and basically launched their career. 😎👍
Always great when a band is able to change a song enough to make it their own while also paying the correct amount of homage. Any song from the Pepsi Center show is a game changer. Pure skill, talent and hard work always wins. Bet.
The Warnings "Enter Sandman" is sublime; reimagined and superior to the original. The 3 sisters radically increase depth, transforming the song into a haunting lullaby. The musicianship of DPA is sublime: Ale, a world-class Jazz Bassist, playing crystal clear yet vibrating the earth; Dani one the greatest guitarists; Pau a brilliant drummer. The vocal harmonies are unearthly. Only these 3 sisters, with gorgeous voices, could do this. How do 3 sisters, so musically talented in such different ways, with such different voices, blend their music and vocals so magnificently? Some think Pau's a Soprano; she isn't. Pau's a true Mezzo; it's her gorgeous timbre that makes her sound like a Soprano. Some think Dani's a Mezzo; she isn't. Dani's an Alto with an insane range and can hit the upper notes of a Mezzo. Ale is a true Contralto; rarest of all female voices. Put these 3 master musicians together, combine those 3 magical voices, include a string section, and "Enter Sandman" becomes the song Metallica wrote for The Warning. The Warning's version of Enter Sandman is that good because these 3 sisters are that great.
TW collaborated with Alessia Cara for the Metallica Blacklist charity album released Sept. 10, 2021. You can find the studio recording with the music video on The Warning's YT channel. You can also watch the recording behind the scenes with the studio recording dubbed over as well. The producer for the re-arrangement is Matt Squire and producer David Bendeth mixed the track, as Matt had a prior commitment and didn't have time to mix the track. TW and Alessia Cara had 10 days to arrange, record, mix, and submit their track to the Metallica Blacklist team for inclusion into the Blacklist album.
The Warning was asked by Metallica to re-imagine this song, and was so impressed that they put The Warning version #1 track on the A-side of their BlackList album. There is a studio version of this arrangement The Warning did with Alessia Cara, but I prefer the live concert with the strings
Just do the entire Pepsi Center CDMX concert from the Warning's TH-cam channel. The videos are high quality, will not get blocked and the performances are entirely out of this world. Also, the videos are numbered, so just follow their setlist. Easy, and amazing.
The only studio version is on the Metallica Blacklist album, track 1. It has Alesia Cara (sp) on the lead vocal, and The Warning has changed things up on it since, but the core is there. They put out a video for that version, too.
This was remade by the band in 2021 for Metallica's blacklist album (anniversary compilation by Metallica of various covers of the back list album songs). They recorded it with Alessia Cara as their first collab. Both the official video and the live concerts (Teatro Metropolitan and Pepsi Center) are different and worth a listen. The band got their first break by becoming viral (at 25M views) with their cover of the song in 2014 at ages 9, 12 and 14. Kirk commented on the drummer then. A full circle thing indeed.
Something mind-blowing is that they only performed this version once before with the string section. I believed they did one soundcheck with the strings as well. So, maybe a total of 4 times playing it and never again since. They did this as a special feature of their 10th Anniversary show because of the relevance of ES to their beginning as it was a more direct cover of the song that virally launched their career as a band.
I believe that by the time of this performance in Mexico City, they had already featured the string section at two other venues, Guadalajara and Monterrey. The “Strings”are from the University of Monterrey Orchestra in TW’s home town, so I assume they had opportunities for rehearsal.
It is only this live performance from Pepsi Center that has the strings. The studio version with Alessia Cara (on Metallica Blacklist album) is good, but my favourite is the live version from Teatro Metropolitan 2022. It is closer to the studio version (ie no strings) but has Dany singing all verses. Nothing wrong with Alessia's voice, but Dany's rockier voice suits this song better. But all three versions are good. Listen to all of them..
As a rocker growing up during the grunge era in Seattle, I respected Metallica but they were never high on bands I listened to a lot, context for the fact that I think I've listened to The Warning's Enter Sandman more than I've listened to Metallica's original 🤓
The guitar Dany is playing was given to her by Izzy Hale from Halestorm. It was a gift made to Dany's specific requirements on guitar. Love the Harmonizing
Their songwriting, musicianship, professionalism, talents, passion, charisma, and their extraordinary sibling dynamic, all blend their magic to make these young women a phenomenon that's going to rock the planet. Their interpolation of 'Enter Sandman' may be the best 'cover' of an epic rock song, ever!! Their entire discography, to date, is immaculately conceived! Heed 'The Warning'!! "The Best Hard Rock Power Trio of the 21st Century."🦉🤟⚡🍩👍⚠⚡💥 'The Warning' TH-cam Playlist by Satori has over 1,500 YT videos of 'The Warning'!! FYI, the Gibson Explorer that Dany is playing was a gift to her from Lzzy Hale - given onstage during a concert during a tour where The Warning was opening for Halestorm. You can find video of the event, as well as both women talking about what it meant for them.
First, I'm not the biggest Metallica fan, but when I heard this version with string section on top of it, I literally jumped out of my seat !!! This song is on Metallica's tribute album "The Metallica Blacklist", And it's great and all (Alessia Cara is the singer with The Warning), but I love Dany's voice more. Four full grown men just got OWNED by three sisters. And, That Guitar what Dany is playing is a stagegift from Lizzy Hale!!! This whole Live from Pepsi Center CDMX is Legendary !!!!! ⚡Viva The WARNING⚡ NWSU/FloorFan/Epican/Ayreonaut/TWA/PauFan🤘😎🤘.
Yiu NEED to check out their cover of Enter Sandman from 2014 when they were 9, 12, and 14! It now has over 25 million views. I'd love to see your reaction. It git them n I tired by Metallica, and Pau was specifically mentioned.
there is a studio version of this without strings on Metallica's Blacklist album 30th anniversary of the Black album. their instructions were keep the original lyrics but make the song your own. they did this with Alessia Cara in 10 day they took the original apart and put it back together upside down, inside out, backwards and sideways and MADE IT THEIR OWN.🤯🤯 I'm a big Metallica fan and pretty much like this version better than the original. they did do a straight up cover in 2014 at the ages of 9, 12, 14 that went viral and caught the eye of Kirk Hammet, who said something along the line of "the drummer kicks maximum ass.
It’s on Spotify/Apple on Metallicas “The Metallica Blacklist” album. There’s an OMV as well featuring Alessia Cara who collaborated. (Her vocals are included in the live versions as well)
She is included in the live but only a short sample (the ahoaho). In the studio version she sings the first verse. The best version (without the strings) in my opinion, is the live from Teatro Metropolitan.

I would recommend everyone to listen to all versions. They are all good in their own way.

Dust To Dust/Dull Knives from Pepsi Center show is an absolute banger performance.
Coming soon 👀

It was #1 on the album because ES covers were at the beginning and this was initially done with Alessia Cara whose name starts with A.
This is not the studio version. This is live.
The Warning simplemente The Warning , maestras del rock, por hoy no hay nadie como TW
Just do the entire Pepsi Center CDMX concert from the Warning's TH-cam channel. The videos are high quality, will not get blocked and the performances are entirely out of this world. Also, the videos are numbered, so just follow their setlist. Easy, and amazing.
Highway to symphonic metal?
The string section is a great touch IMO. This whole concert is epic !! 🤟🏼🎸🥁🎸🤟🏼

The baddest gals in rock ..🔥🤘
🔥Strings 🔥Dany's rasp and grit 🔥Pau's high harmonies 🔥
It’s always fun to see someone encounter this version for the first time. Yes, they’re this good. But their originals are even better!
Something mind-blowing is that they only performed this version once before with the string section. I believed they did one soundcheck with the strings as well. Always enjoy The Warning live performances. So much talent.

The studio recording does not have the strings, as they had to re-arrange, record, edit and mix it in about a week.
This is true. On the other hand, it has a brilliant harmony arrangement not heard here.
It is only this live performance from Pepsi Center that has the strings. The studio version with Alessia Cara (on Metallica Blacklist album) is good, but my favourite is the live version from Teatro Metropolitan 2022.

*not counting radio plays, "Enter Sandman" was everywhere for a period of time, I mean as far as me choosing to play it on my system*

Why would you want a studio version. This is The Warning. Live is the jive!
This is the Best version The Warning already did, I Hope they can add to Spotify, I didn't like the others version with Alessia
Metallica Blacklist Album... first track. ⚡️🤘⚡️
I'm not sure if you're aware but they have a concert in Edmonton on Oct.20th -- which is where I believe you are based out of?
Big Metallica fan here....this is next level on all levels!!! Sorry Metallica...ladies now own this one without any doubt!!!
