Personally find this version my favorite of all, including the original (I am a Metallica fan). Never thought Teatro would be topped but this concert has certainly upped what was one of the best I had heard, which was Teatro. Thanks for the reaction.
What a masterpiece! The parts written for the background orchestra are as amazing as the song! They're very talented in writing music! What else to say....
They had a string section for BH & ES at the shows I saw in Monterrey, then again in Pepsi Center a few night later. It was fantastic to see that live. Both groups were all female, and both groups were totally into playing the songs. It was great to see. I think the strings really add a great flavor to this version of ES.
The whole concert was next level. The question now is what are they going to do at the February shows in Mexico to top this? I am confident they will crush it again, though.
Oh, I suppose playing all of their albums back to back in their entirety in a marathon mega-concert spread over two nights would top the Pepsi Center show. 🤩 Sigh, a guy can dream can't he? 😆
Ale sang the prayer on 11/17/22 in Winnipeg (Martin TW) due to Dany not feeling well. In the same show she also sang Hunter and then introduced the band.
I agree, the Teatro version would be the one I’d chose but I’d love to hear this version with the strings, in the next Mission Impossible or James Bond movie! The ending especially would be good for maybe a chase scene or ending fight scene.⚡️🤘
this is my favorite version. The Teatro Metropolitan version is a very, very, very close second. I think that the strings provide a vital counterpoint to the regular composition and hiding them in the mix and blending them in doesn’t do justice to that. It’s kind of like wearing a accent piece on your clothes and then throwing a jacket on over top of it all. Overall, I think that the mix came out the way that they intended it to and I’m 100% sure that if they had any issues with it, they wouldn’t have released the video.
I don't think the strings are supposed to blend smoothly in this song. Remember that this is a song about a child dying in its sleep. I see the strings forming the perspective of the dying child, trying to get some air - and finally giving up (the last riff) with a few frantic gasps. So if they sound harsh, that's exactly what they're supposed to. Nobody suffocates that easily. So this version ranks higher for me than the Teatro Metropolitan version.

7:21 when Pau adds her emphatic high harmony vocals into the "Hush little baby" refrain is a highlight of the song for me. Chills.

If Pepsi Center tops Metropoltain by this much imagine what the February show will be? Man I wish I could afford to be there! It's going to be EPIC!

@@Dale-m9tWell Pau said that she wants that concert to be special, do it will most definitely will be.
I love the intro as the bass comes in.
The string section was leaving when Dani told them to come back and take a bow.
Im first! Wicked version of a classic.
Tres grandes maestras de la interpretación y composición ,con un rock diferente de calidad y muy agradable al escucharlo lo disfrutas

Cool. I just want her to do it on one of these official videos. But is there any fancam of her doing the prayer?
Or are you saying Martin has it on his channel? I'll check. Thanks.

I just wish it was better quality so that I could actually hear her. ☹

If I recall correctly, it was Pau that did the prayer in the music video.
Yes, she did. So all three of them have done it at various points in their history with the song. I'd just love to see adult Ale do it once. 😁
Reminds me of a Bond movie soundtrack.
"It's gotta be more upbeat than Breathe"... < soundtrack to van Helsing entering Dracula's crypt> ... 💀💀💀
It was Pau and Ale doing the prayer in their 2014 cover.
Yes, true. But everyone remembers cute little Ale saying it. 😁
@@Bodenmaddox She was adorable.
Its not just strings playing. There are brass instruments (trumpets) playing as well.
You missed the two violas, along with the two cellos, behind Ale.
Nice. Thanks.
@@Bodenmaddox I had to mention it, because my dad was a violist.
The strings add even more of an ominous tone that really works for me. I don't agree with the "strings being harsh" critique beginning at 9:03

Fair enough, but I still prefer the 2022 version over this one. But just by a little bit. 😀
You know what this song needs? More BASS! By the way, you are wrong about the strings. They were Amazing
I didn't say they were bad. I just thought the mix was off and they were a bit overpowering in what we heard. I love that they were used.
