If you want to see pyro check out "Automatic Sun" from Tecate P'al Norte. It's the studio audio over live performance. Lots of pyrotechnics on that one.
The Bassist Alejandra aka Ale (ah-lay) created this Dust to Dust groove at the age of around 11yrs old. Dull Knives (cut better) was always criticized for being too short. Playing it with Dust to Dust like this kinda fixed that. If you can't add more to the end of a song to make it longer, just add it to the front .. Brilliant idea 💥🤯💥
Both songs from their second album Queen of the Murder Scene, released in 2018. Dull Knives, livestreamed from their basement during the pandemic for a virtual charity event, got the attention of Lzzy Hale of Halestorm who would take them out on tour in 2022. And there they would meet Brian (forgot his last name) who does lighting for Halestorm. He did the lighting for this show and the Teatro Metropolitan show. Their upcoming sold out shows in February at the 10K seat Auditorio Nacional will certainly step it up a notch so maybe they'll include those effects you're talking about.
I’m glad you’re liking what you’ve seen from The Warning so far. If you want to see some “pyro”, check out “Automatic Sun” from Tecate Pa’l Norte Festival. The audio is from the studio recording, the video is from the festival. ⚡️🤘
With the fast turn around from the Pal Norte fest, to the video being released, The reason it's the studio sound over the live performance is probably because the Co2 cannons are so loud it's impossible to get a decent mix in post.
Both of these songs are from their 2018 album Queen of the Murder Scene. It is a concept album which tells the story of a disturbed young woman's inner journey from desire to obsession to murder and madness. The songs are told from the point of view of either the young lady's inner psychopath or her good side, which has a conscience - until it does not. Dust to Dust is the first track on the album and it is a prologue that invites the listener into the story and introduces the main themes - life/death, good/evil, truth/lies, etc. The Spanish section is that of a preacher saying that you can receive salvation but it is something that you must work for. The lyrics have deeply religious undertones - life is short and unpredictable (“How quickly things can unfold”); there is an afterlife (“and we shall start again” and “the truth found in death”); we should distrust false prophets (“where are you going? Don’t trust all that you hear”); and judgment (“I don’t seek right or wrong”). Dull Knives is track 9, the 2nd track of Chapter 3. In this song the Queen is losing control and seriously considering suicide. In the previous song, Sinister Smiles, she’s already thought of it. I assume dull knives cut “better” because they cause more pain, and at this point she is self-mutilating. She realizes that her evil side is winning. She is losing control. (Thanks to TimberWolf762's google doc for these descriptions. It can be found by searching google for "queen of the murder scene meaning" and it should be the top result. )
Legendary live performers, musicians and songwriters and they're only 24, 22 and 19 right now ( a year younger in this 2023 video). From their second album released in 2018 when they were 18, 16 and 13.
The transition from one song to another was specifically arranged for this show and, YES, it was in real time; no video edit. As far as using pyro (on a regular basis), since these girls are not [yet] a multimillionaire household-name band, they could only afford limited production effects at the time, without incurring significant debt. HOWEVER, they DID invest in air cannons at this show to shoot money bill confetti over the crowd for the song "MONEY"; you should check that song out, too. No fire pyro though. They used fire and steam later on at Tecate Pa'l Norte festival in their hometown of Monterrey, MX during their song "Automatic Sun". Check out their official music video for that, which you can get from their official TH-cam channel. Those are the only two instances when they've invested in and used pyro. I'm sure there's much more to come when they can afford it and they're consistently performing in large venues. Great reaction! Take care!
...plus, there's the extra liability that both indoor and outdoor venues would have to agree to, for pyro. Flashback to the Station nightclub fire, in 2003, where Great White's pyrotechnics started a fire, killing 100 people and injuring 230. For the money, lights are my way to go, being a lot safer for the band, the crew and the fans.
This combination has turned out to be one of my favorites. Next try Automatic Sun from Tecate Pa'l Norte festival. The Warning favorite song (and to play Live... 🔥 🔥 🔥
They added an extended outro to D2D in live performances (the studio version ends with Dany’s extended wail) to lead into Dull Knives. Hope they play these at CDMX in February! 😎👍
To me this is the definitive version of those two songs. The extended outro to Dust to Dust was a perfect new addition and the transition worked so well I don't want to hear either song without the other anymore! You are right that singing lead is hard on Pau at times. She has been doing it pretty much since they started over 10 years ago, but she is also singing backing vocals on every one of their songs (other than When I'm Alone), so it can add up with the ~7 songs where she at is least sharing the lead. Pau has said she will sing lead as much as she is capable and we love her for that. If you want to check something from them that's a different pace or feel, check out their Montreal acoustic show, where Ale was sick so Dany and Pau did a show with Pau on keyboard where she sang some songs that were normally Dany songs. If you want more crowd-pleasing rock stuff, Animosity or Amour from the same concert are excellent. Some specific examples of songs of theirs that are quite a bit different from these songs: -Black Holes (Pepsi Center) -Breathe (Pepsi Center - use CC cause she gives a short speech to the audience about the songs before starting) -When I'm Alone (Pepsi Center - Dany solo on stage, or Teatro Metropolitan - whole band doing the song). -Revenant (Teatro Metropolitan).
There was no cut … they rehearsed that, and it just flowed! Thanks for an excellent reaction man, enjoyed it! Hope you enjoy your time away from home - every time is an experience to relish (should you want it to be!). Hey from England btw! Andy 🤘👍
This band is special.. I mean really good. The first time I saw them they were 9, 12 & 14 yrs old. In their basement (The Warning Cave) someone let them out of the "Cave". Now this powerful live machine is bringing it big time..Most common reaction is "HOLY SH!T" 💥🤯💥TRY "SHARKS" OFFICIAL LYRICS VIDEO it's from the new album (Keep me Fed)

I won't watch because the thumbnail is so daft. "Oh well then don't watch, that's your problem". "Yes but I appreciate the effort so I want to let you know how your thumbnail worked for one person, for the data" "?".
"Her eyes!" Dany has one of the most expressive faces in Rock. She just embodies the songs.
Her eyebrows deserve an Oscar. Q+Q drives that home.
songs they wrote 7-ish years ago and STILL kick a55...
...did you say kick @$$?
Maybe more.
Pau has always practiced singing while running on a treadmill.
Bass line is insane.
This band sets the standard for live music.
Whoever pumped Ale's bass up thank you!
Hell yeah! This show really showcases her thumping bass! These two songs together are my favorite thing from this show, so far.
It's nice to finally hear the notes. That girl's fingers fly when she plays.
If you want to see pyro check out "Automatic Sun" from Tecate P'al Norte. It's the studio audio over live performance. Lots of pyrotechnics on that one.
Yes so much Pyro, that they had to use the studio audio. But it turned out exceptional

Some bands make music people want to hear, but the Warning makes music people need to hear
Dull Knives has to me their best lyric, “choke on all my scarlet letters”.
Checkout the rest of this show . . Its their 10th birthday . . .

I can see Rudy rubbing his hands together in gleeful anticipation 😂 Cheered on by Dany, Of course 😉 ❤
💖🐺
I am sure they will now that Rudy has his pyro certification. He is the one that did it for their Pa’l Norte show.

I doubt there was any cut in the song transition, they just rolled from D2D to Dull Knives. Live is their Superpower.
Correct. That extended riffing at the end of D2D was a straight bridge into the second song.
Excellent my friend... excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pyro is tough to do in many places because of regulations. Which is why I think they should do them regardless. Free publicity.
