My wife and daughter went away to visit family and left me alone for 20 days, in that time i transformed our basement with the new craft room they had been dreaming about. It was a ton of work, but with them gone i could work all hours of the night.
I didn't get it 100% finished as i still needed to trim the table top edges and i had a sink and faucet that I later added to the small counter by the fridge, but the hard work was done and the surprise was not diminished.

wow, 7 years later but this was amazing to watch, the most wholesome craft room build I've ever watched. It's amazing how you did all this for your family. Simply beautiful.

I think the best comment here is from "EVELYN PENDALL". True word I could not find. Tears stung my eyes as the words of the song echoed in the background while Hubby stayed steadfast and focused on his heartfelt task. My mind drifted back to promises and vows. We aren't all so blessed. As the last bit of my possessions were removed all that remained of many promises was one incomplete painted wall in the color peach that I had chosen so,so long before. All that remained were the supplies that stood against walls never touched. All is not lost. Although my space seems dwarfed compared to what might have been and I'm doing it alone on a disability pension without any help. Some husbands just seem to realize how happy they are when their wife is happy and also love making her happy. That's the real blessing this couple shares. Love and giving 110%. These are beautiful videos. The tables looked so easy to build. I'd love to see a slower version of that for myself. GOOD LUCK YOU TWO. YOU'RE A BEAUTIFUL COUPLE. Sweet daughter.

I don't recall the last time I commented on TH-cam before, if ever. I'm half way through this video and wiping away tears. What a beautiful thing this man has done for his wife and daughter. What a very nice thing that was that you did for your wife. I can just imagine the happiness that came out of this for your wife. I'm an avid crafter and I can't tell you how many times I've changed my furniture from room to room in order to make room for my crafting supplies. Just yesterday I moved my bedroom furniture into my small bedroom so i could use the larger bedroom for my crafting supplies. LOL.. That was completely unselfish and giving of you. It's amazing what can make a person happy.
Where can I find a guy like this? Builds an amazing craft space AND watches Star Trek TNG while doing so? Amazing craft space! Kudos!
ha! thanks, Star Trek is my go-to background TV show since i know them all so well, i can listen to it and still enjoy it :) i'm sure you can find a handy trek nerd out there!

OMFlippingGOSH!! What an absolutely beautiful, over-the-top Super SWEET act of LOVE!!! My cheeks literally hurt from smiling so much watching you do every bit of hard work to create a beautiful craft room for your very lucky & blessed wife! The reveal was what really made me smile. I kept saying AWWW how sweet! I can only imagine how happy and excited your wife & beautiful daughter were when you revealed their new room. This is definitely one of the sweetest acts of love that I have seen. What an AMAZING husband and daddy you are to do this for them. I would love to see how the room looks now that they have broken it in. WHY? it doesn't make any sence xD Some of the back pain you felt after that could have been avoided by painting the walls green and then put the shelves onto the wall :D I hope your wife made your boo- boo go away, lol (Sorry, laughing too much about this. It could have been by me, too, but I would have stopped and rethink it after the first half of the wall gave me pain x'D)
+chaosgoettin ha, well the shelves were already there. they came with the house, so i was working with what i had. it was a pain, but really it was a good break, i was tired of painting everything else, then tired of cutting wood after doing the floors in the main area, so it was actually relaxing to go back to painting.
It looks like laminate floor, not wooden. It's enough strong for dogs.

Can I just say, this was soooo satisfying to watch! You were so organized and meticulous about the way you painted, installed and built everything. It was so fun to watch, and it was a Valentines day surprise? what an amazing gift!
It's amazing to see how much can a person do for another one, just to let them know, that love and kindess for our love ones is the most important thing on Earth. And think about it ! This guy just did it to see the smiles on thier faces :)
